I nearly wasn't going to check AFF for any updates, but I'm bloody well glad I did. An update from Musey, and a darn good update too.

Pity Vanika's outfit was too short to hide a weapon OR Pity she couldn't have bit something off, hehe. It would serve him right.

Poor O'ni, and poor Da'ar for having to do Bha'ruk's dirty work.

Can't wait for more updates. For all your stories.

All right, finally able to review this chapter.

As always musey, you never disappoint! What I simply enjoy most is how you are still developing your characters so well and making them quite unique. Take Da'ar and Bha'ruk for example, two sides of a coin they are, so evident when comparing each of their thoughts when Lyra was in her bad state. One so thoughtless and selfish and the other thoughtful and understanding. I also enjoyed the dialog between Da'ar and Ta'al and how it showed more depth to their friendship and understanding of the problems they have had to go through.

I still am wondering now how O'ni is going to fit into things, now that he's been replaced and injured. There was always something mysterious about him and I'm curious on what that may be.

Again, your great strength is being able to visualize everything with your words, such as the place Lyra went near death, or also the garden, and describing things like the stench of death and blood. It all adds up to make it such an engrossing read.

Well, bravo as always musey. I'll certainly be looking forward to what you have in store next! Sorry this took so long too :)

Lovely chapter, as always. Lyra reminds me of an elf in a couple ways. But don't worry, it's a good thing!

I really like that the violence affected her so severely - I mean, not that I *like* it in that way, but it was a really nice touch. And life returning to her when she was brought to the arbor, full of trees and living things, reminds me a lot of Tolkien elves - they would up and die pretty fast if someone stuck them in a dungeon, for example. But Lyra is still her own creature, unique, not too elfish or anything, so don't worry about that. I can't wait to read more of her species, should you divulge it, her kind interests me... =) I worry about what will happen to her when Bha'ruk decides that it's time. It's a rare thing when I feel for the victim in a story. Well, you know I'm a bit twisted like that when it comes to stories, I like the males to be dominating and downright evil. But with this story, since it is written the way it is and by someone who knows how to write it, it's the other way around. I'm thinking "Oh, Bha'ruk, I want to yank your sac off like a paper towel..."

    MOAR! =)

    Another great update, Musey.

Bha'ruk's reaction was much like I expected to be. I hope Lyra doesn't have to go through that again. Though Bha'ruk sounds like the type of male, that when it boils down to it, really wouldn't worry all that much. He will do what he does, no matter what happens to his prized possession.

I love how Da'ar made mention that he had studied the planets Lyra and the other females came from. I only hope they all get to see their home planets.

Can't wait to see what happens next, but, you know me, I'm patient and I know what it's like getting ideas out XD

I soooooo love Ta'al & Da'ar, they remind me of the medieval knight, sworn to valour, honour & chivalry, to protect the weak and all womenfolk.

I am so looking forward to the Elder's nasty end I just hope that he doesn't hurt Lyra before that happens -it WILL happen - won't it?

Again I say to you that this is a beautifully written story, the arbor scene nearly made me cry..so lovely..
