The Beginning of The End
Chapter 11: The Beginning of the end.
- Orson Space Station -
Chief Carmine paces back and forth in his office staring at his screen. Deacon's last message gave him discomfort. Richards is indeed the best Officer he'd recruited in years. She should've been able to track Riddick down by now... something wasn't right. The fact still remains that she has an unclear history with Richard B. Riddick. He supposes that the girl still has feelings for the man. Riddick had been her hero for a long time, until the coward left her alone for us to take care of.
* tsk, tsk Riddick, you've gotten sloppy over the years. *
After all these years Riddick still surprises him. Undoubtedly he's watching over the Kyie woman and child ~ A weakness? Perhaps Riddick isn't as perfect as planned.
The door to his office abruptly opens. A thin brunette steps inside "We've attained their location, Sir"
Stepping towards her, he nods "Show me". Walking towards the command center she continues to explain.
"The Maddox was last registered at the Remora space station in the Terzago system. We believe its sill docked at this station. However, we haven't been able to pin point their exact location. We know they're on the Remora planet, but that's all." Entering the center she goes directly to a terminal and points towards their location on the map.
"Good work officer... " he looks at her tag and continues "Fitz". Carmine sits to think and the cadet waits for orders.
"Sir?" Carmine can hardly hear her; lost in his thoughts "Orders, Sir?" he licks his lips and sighs.
"We wait, for now" she nods and walks away. Once again Carmine thinks back to the first time he met Riddick.

He walked in the orphanage without much hope. Looking around for someone to catch his attention, the perfect child. Then he saw him. Richard had been about 7 or 8 years old at the time, but he was such a strong boy for his age. He was bigger than all the other boys. Carmine took interest in him immediately. Richard was playing with a computer, an older version of the new terminals, but he seemed fascinated with it nonetheless. After spending sometime with the boy he'd learned how intellectual he was. The boy was clever and wise beyond his years. Carmine also learned he'd been abandoned when he was infant along with his brother. Ryan had been adopted a few months before and unlike Richard he'd seemed to be a normal child. That same day Chief Carmine took Richard with him. The beginning of the end.
