Authors Note: This is a Brian/Dom fic! If you don't like this pairing then please don't read!

3:30am.
Brian was up way too early again, but his mind wouldn't stop playing the possibilities to come once he and his crew reach Los Angeles, California. It's the 5th Anniversary of Jesse's death,and the 3rd Birthday of his twin boys, and he had to drag to two from their friends just so Brian could finally pay the respects that Jesse deserves from Brian, because Brian was too chicken shit to do it for the last four years that Brian has procrastinated on going back and giving his friend.
Brian heaved a sigh as he got up from the full sized bed that he called his home away from his boys before he grabbed a pair of plaid pajama pants and went to check on the sleeping toddlers. They each had blonde hair and brown eyes with slight Asian features that weren't so pronounced that you couldn't look and see them.
After Suki up and left him, Brian had to take on the role of both Mom and Dad which went with bathing the two boys, cooking breakfast.lunch, and dinner before carting them off to one of their Uncle's or Aunt's places so that he could go to work at the various times he had to.
Racing was completely nonexistent in his life, because that'd keep him away from his boys for too long so he had begrudgingly asked Agent Bilkens for his job back into the FBI since it was the only job he knew that would pay the bills, but Bilkens wouldn't allow Brian field duty, because of the situation that Brian was in.
Nobody could take care of Ranger and Crimson O'Connor; Brian's living-will wasn't made up so the boy's would either go to their invisible mother or next of kin in Brian's family which would be their Grandmother Teressa Malloy who wished spit and dirt on Brian once he decided to leave Barstow, California for a life of a Police Officer.
So Brian and Bilkens had made the agreement that, if something came up that dealt with the Racing world, that Brian and his crew would be called up to take it on, but nothing else that could put Brian in immediate danger; danger that wasn't the sharp end of a pencil anyway.
Brian got to his kitchen, took out the milk, and chugged some of it before he sighed with a heavy heart and heavy mind still before he checked the time again to see that it was 4:11am. He'd have to get the boys up in two hours to get them ready for the long trip to California, and it wasn't going to be easy.
Brian had grudgingly admitted in the last few years that he missed the hulking mass named Dominic Toretto, but Mia's description of Dom had been very accurate. Dom was like gravity, he just pulls you in and never lets you leave; no matter how far you run and no matter how well you hide, his gravity always makes you want to return to being around him.
Brian was afraid that he'd return to Dom's gravity, and never want to leave ever again. He couldn't let that happen though, because Ranger and Crimson need him now more than ever since they were going to be in Kindergarten next year, and he can't split his life between a "Saudade" relationship, and his children.
For those that don't know what Brian means by "Saudade", it means a vague and constant desire for something that does not and probably cannot exist. A relationship with Dominic Toretto would be classified as such seeing as Brian's heart yearns for the man, but the man probably wants nothing to do with Brian at all. Brian could even believe that Dom would rather shoot Brian than to have a relationship with him.
Or Brian's feelings were more like the French phrase "La Douleur Exquise" where his love is unrequited, but more along the lines that the person of his affection doesn't even know that he has these feelings toward them in the first place,because Brian expressed his love to the wrong person at first so Brian could deny left, right, and center that they even existed.
Brian, honestly, didn't know and all of this thinking was hurting his head so he decided to get a shower before his boys needed to wake up so he could clear his head and feel much happier than he was at that particular moment.
