Chapter One
Mary swiftly wrapped the cable several times about Dracula's throat and leaned in close. "This is our goodbye." She told him in a hard tone, letting the vampire know that it was all over. Her dark eyes were rather sad, but determined. And then she grabbed him and threw the two of them over the edge of the building.
Everything spun about the girl and air rushed by sickeningly. As the fear hit her, knowing the huge drop below, she abruptly came to a halt and there was a wrenching pain in her arm as her wrist was grabbed by the vampire. Dracula choked for a moment as his full weight yanked down on the cable out his throat. He struggled against the hold for a few seconds as self-preservation kicked in-but then he stopped. Wasn't this what he had wanted so many thousands of years ago when he had tried to end his life and had been cursed into immortality? Maybe this time, the rope would not break. This girl had intended to either decapitate him, or leave him dangling in the sunlight that the vampire could sense was coming. Perhaps in the end, she was his salvation, and he had not even known it. "Mary." He rasped. His eyes turned to blood red and he gazed down at the girl dangling below him. He could see her dark hair blowing in the breeze as she let him hold her up. Her body moved and another arm swung up, trying to grab his with both of hers, but it fell short. Her betrayal cut him deeply and he couldn't help tracing her delicate features with longing as his beloved finally turned her face up to his. Her eyes were wide and frightened, a mortal fear of dropping consuming her. It would be so easy to let her fall...Mary did not know that she would not die, as a vampire. He could feel her terror and despair as her actions sank in. Their eyes locked together tightly and she grimaced, showing her fangs. Dracula saw the smaller vampire throw a hurried look at the building with it's smooth white bricks, and the windows just out of reach. If she had been a vampire longer, she could have floated up easily. For that, the dark-haired man was a little grateful. His only link to her now was through her delicate wrist. Dracula had stopped her falling! The dark-haired girl locked eyes with the other vampire and hers were rather incredulous. She had tried to kill him, to decapitate his head from his shoulders, but he had saved her. Why? Why? It didn't make any sense. As she watched him struggling for breath, the cable digging in deeply, she felt despair and regret. This was a man she have a bond with telepathically and she had his blood inside of her. Mary could feel him there inside of her head, not intruding, but keeping the connection. Through it, the girl could sense his emotions...dark, deep, lonely, despairing and he was tired. So very tired. The endless centuries dragging out behind him and ahead. But not if it ended here. To her shock, the small girl could feel his resignation to his fate. He could have floated up, unwrapped the metal cable from his throat and left. Why wasn't he? It did have to be this way, right? The creature had turned her friend Lucy into a vampire, and she and Simon had been forced kill her as well as the other two vampire brides. Somehow, she felt betrayal by the others that this man had made. This immortal creature had wanted her, yet he took lovers in other women and also transformed them. In Mary's eyes, this made him unfaithful and she really wondered why it even mattered to her. His Mary wanted to know why...why he had made the others. Dracula felt a small hope as he sensed her jealousy and betrayal and could have laughed. She felt betrayed? What of him? Very well, in the last moments, the vampire would show his beloved everything. His blazing red orbs seared into her mind and then they were entwining closely, sharing thoughts. He let her see the endless loneliness and the longing for someone to be with him forever. To love him. He had been cursed by Christ and had paid dearly for thousands of years. This child had no idea of the suffering he had endured. But now... The vampire bombarded the other one with images, one after the other, of his entire life and he heard her shocked gasps. Too much in her head. It hurt. The dark-haired girl winced and closed her eyes, ignoring the pain about her wrist and trying to concentrate on what Dracula was showing her. She did not know why he had chosen to share these things, but it touched her, as well as his endless pain and loneliness. Always alone, even when there were others of his kind in the world. He did not care about the three brides, they have been a mere diversion, created to protect him and draw Simon's attention away from the ancient vampire. "Mary!" Simon called from above, but the two ignored him, lost in their own minds. Together. When he could give her no more, Dracula relaxed the hold on the girl's mind, but stayed there. He the sun starting to rise. It was over. Dracula stopped struggling and went limp against the cable about his neck, his hand holding on tightly to Mary. He was all that kept her from falling. He had-given up, and accepted the inevitable. The girl should have been his salvation, but instead had been the ultimate cause of his destruction. 'Mary.' The vampire's voice was inside her mind, as scathing as it was caressing. Even now, he loved her still. Mary stared upwards, into his blood-red eyes. She was helpless and so far above the ground that it scared her. She had not thought clearly when throwing the two of them off the building, not really caring then about her own demise. But now she could see how stupid it had been. The fall would break bones in her body, but all she could see and know was him. His eternal sadness. She had betrayed him and now she understood it all. Such joy this creature had felt when he sensed her in the world. His single-minded determination to find her and make her his. No it couldn't end like this! The girl knew that she had been wrong, so very wrong. Even if he was a killer, and taken her friend from her, and her Father...There was so much more to it! When Dracula was gone, there would only be an empty ache in her heart, that she hadn't known he had filled. 'Let me drop!' The brunette thought back at him frantically, hurting inside to see him so helpless and she could feel the sun rising. She struggled to get her wrist loose, to take her weight from the cable, but he refused to let go, fingers gripping hers firmly. Their eyes never left each other. Again she tried, but the ancient vampire was determined not to let her come to harm, his lips drawn back from his long fangs in a grimace of pain. Oh god, it couldn't be. He loved her. Mary could see it now clearly in the crimson depths of his eyes. Her heart clenched tightly. After what the old vampire had shown her, she understood him now. Because she was the same creature, she could sympathize, though the killing and blood-lust did not overly appeal to her. After two thousand years, she probably would have become just like him. Vampires were just higher up on the food chain than humans, and they were natural prey. 'Mary, you have betrayed me...but I cannot let you go.' Somehow, he sounded as knowing as he did resigned. She had betrayed him and on some level, he had known that she would. But on another, he had hoped that she would not. 'My Mate.' He whispered mentally to her, blood tears falling freely from his eyes. She was his other half, the one he had been waiting for so long to be born. The pain she had brought him were nothing to his centuries of pain. Nothing to his years trapped in that coffin with leaches. Nothing to his betrayal of the one who had trusted him so long ago. No, this ran much deeper. He had shown her his soul and she had turned on him for a human. A human! Fury coursed through his veins and for a moment, he almost let her go. She would not die because she was a vampire now, but she would take months to heal. Months of agony and not being able to feed. His cruelty almost allowed this, but his love would not. Mary's dark eyes blinked rapidly at Dracula's words. He had called her his Mate. Mate? Like a soulmate? It was the vampire equivalent to a husband, she read in his mind, only there was never a divorce. It was forever. There was only one in the whole world who could be that and this man had chosen her. As her eyes locked on the other vampire's, she was the truth of it in his gaze. Love. Bonding. He truly thought that she was his and it had made the betrayal all the worse. The girl could have cried her eyes out right then. She searched deeply inside for her own feelings and was stunned by what she found there. All of her life she had sought to fit in, and when the dreams of this man had come, yes she had been afraid...but also had been filled with longing. His appearance in her bedroom had stunned the girl and when the gorgeous vampire had strode gracefully right up to her, her breath had caught in awe. Dracula had come for her. Finally. The ancient vampire had leant in close and sniffed delicately, scenting his own blood within her veins from the injections her Father had used to prologue his own life. The girl had been terrified, yet utterly enchanted. He had been beautiful and dark and deadly and for a moment, had almost willingly stepped into his arms. Perhaps if he had not turned Lucy, his seduction of the one who dangled at his mercy would have been utterly successful and they would not now be in this position. And even if the vampire turned to dust from the sunlight, Mary would be trapped and alone this way, walking the same path and seeking redemption. No matter what Simon thought, a human and a vampire could never have a romance. He loved her, but somewhere down the line, the man would start to look at her as a vile beast, as he had Dracula. The ancient vampire gazed with surprise into the girl's vague dark eyes, and as he was still firmly inside of her head, could see exactly what she was thinking. Was it possible that Mary was justifying her existence with him? Reassessing her feelings? He did not dare to hope. 'Think quickly, Mary. The sun is almost upon us.' He whispered softly. Mary abruptly focused her eyes and her head became clear. She loved him, oh god forgive her, she really did. He was a creature of darkness, who had caused centuries of countless death and even killed her best friend, but her heart could not lie. Until the end, she had not realized, but seeing the powerful man so defeated, and by her hand, was heartbreaking. Panic crashed through her mind and she clung desperately to his fingers, eyes on his. Yes, Dracula was hers too. Her Mate and the one she loved desperately. Even knowing exactly what this creature was, her heart reached for his. She could not let this happen. "Simon, pull us up! Get a rope, anything!" The girl shouted up to the roof. She saw him put his hands on the ledge and lean over as far as he could. "Us?!" The blonde man shouted back, blood freezing. Surely Mary had meant just herself? Was her vampire blood confusing her? "I'll find something to get you up. Hang on." He jumped up and began searching frantically for something to throw down to her. The brunette's eyes went back to Dracula. "Please forgive me!" Mary cried up to him, tears falling from her eyes also. It was at this last point, when he was being strangled and there was no escape from the rising sun, that she realized everything. Realized that he had given her his soul along with his love. His memories...his trust. 'My betrayer.' He said harshly into her head, looking away. It hurt to look into the Mary's dark eyes, filled with tears and pain to match his own. He couldn't understand why she was upset, yet clearly she was. She had feelings for him, but was it enough? He had to hear it from her own lips. Unfortunately the cable had not decapitated him, so the vampire would wait there for the sun which was already beginning to rise over the horizon. Dracula could already feel the agony it would cause as the light turned his body back to dust. It was over, and finally he could have peace. And ending to the centuries of pain that the man had thought Mary could take from him... 'No! No, please.' Mary thought back, lips trembling. All she could see was his face, slowly beginning to be back-lit by the rising dawn. Soon he would be dust. "No." She gripped swung her other arm up and grasped his wrist tightly above where he grasped her. The small girl began to pull herself up. "Please don't leave me." She almost pleaded. Dracula watched in detachment as Mary used him to pull herself up his body, then with curiosity. Her hand latched into the top of his pants, and he let her wrist go as she wound the other into his shirt. Then the first hand touched his shoulder and she yanked herself upwards with her vampiric strength. "Mary, what are you doing?" He managed around the strangle-hold, frowning. The vampire looked at her with no anger now, resigned to his fate. Empty. It at first appeared that the girl was going to climb up his body and then up the cable, but she had stopped with their faces close going no further. She was not leaving him. The pain he felt on his neck from their combined weight was noting to an ancient like himself. Getting fried in sunlight hurt far worse. He was used to such agony, knowing that it would eventually heal. "Don't be such a martyr." His Mate hissed into his ear in a rare fury. She pulled herself upwards until both arms were about his neck till their faces were close, lips almost touching. The strain on his body must have been terrible with her added weight, but it did not show in his dark eyes as they watched her intently. "Do you want death that badly?" The girl demanded, hands tangling in his curly hair. Her legs went about his hips, feeling his strong muscular body under her. Dracula blinked in surprise at her statement and then a slight smile of amusement curved his lips at both her words and the fact that she had used him as a ladder and now was wrapped about him like a blanket. "I was a born martyr, Mary." His tone was gentle, but choked. It was hard to talk and he urged her to do so mentally. 'Save yourself. I accept my final judgment. You will be free.' Mary raised a hand at that and slapped him hard to try and knock some sense into him. The dark-haired man was really going to let himself be fried by the rising sun and leave her all alone. "Don't you care?" She asked him tearfully, wiping the blood tracks from his own tears from his face. She pressed in close until their lips brushed and then the girl kissed him hard, trying to get her feelings through to Dracula. Though he was in her mind, he seemed to be holding back, uninterested in what her emotions were. 'Don't you care that I love you?' She whispered tenderly. The mans eyes became stunned and he stared at her as if she were his salvation, a desperate hope on his face. She had finally said it. 'You love me?' He repeated, eyes boring deeply into hers. Was it the truth, or was the girl merely stalling? Dracula had been so certain that his feelings were not returned and was unwilling to go on the endless centuries alone and unloved. His mind finally allowed her in and he felt it. Her love. His Mary was not lying. It gave him new strength and he hurriedly glanced to the lightening sky behind her. She saw this and swung them closer to the wall, wincing when the vampire did from the agony about his neck. Her long nails grew into claws and she thrust her hand into the mortar between the white bricks, getting a hold. She pushed herself up a little, trying to take her own weight, but it was awkward. If only he would float! Or her, if she knew how to do it. "Mary!" Simon shouted from above them, leaning over the roof to stare in fear at the girl he loved dangling so far above the ground. She was wrapped tightly about the vampire and had apparently pulled herself up, but was staying there. Their faces were disconcertingly close, as if they had been kissing, but that was impossible. Mary loathed the creature too. "What are you doing? Let the vampire die and I'll help you up." His eyes hardened. "He deserves death for what he has done." He beckoned her to climb the wall because he had not been able to find something to help her. Mary glanced up at him in shock at his bitter angry words, and then back at Dracula with urgency. "I'm not going to betray you again. You're not going to die and leave me. Your absolution is with me." She knew that she could bring him happiness and help save his immortal soul, but would the vampire let her? She could feel his deep desire and need for her...and his love. Their minds were tightly linked and she could feel it all. Surely, Dracula could sense the feelings inside of her? He had to see she did love him, but was doing nothing. Did the dark-haired man still wish to die? If he did want a final peace, then she could not stop him. There was a tug on the rope and both Dracula and Mary looked upwards sharply. Simon was tugging on the line, trying to choke the trapped more. To decapitate him. All three knew that the sun was very close to rising and it would not be long till the vampires would turn to dust. "Mary, you need to get up here! The sun is rising and you have to hide." The mortal said to her urgently, fear in his eyes. They went to the vampire she was clinging to in desperation and he couldn't understand what she was doing. If Dracula died, Mary would be free and become a human again. Mary's eyes suddenly flashed blood-red and she bared her fangs teeth at the human in rage. "Let go of that line or I'll come up there and rip your bloody head off!" She snarled at him, completely serious. If Simon helped her Mate to end his life, he would be next and she would make sure that the man suffered for a very long time. "Mary?" Simon gasped in shock, seeing her face so furious. Why was she angry? Hadn't she been helping him to trap and kill the vampire so that she could go back to normal? He yanked at the cable again, a desperate need inside of the man to kill the creature that had caused so much death. "I mean it! Step away!" The dark-haired girl growled loudly, reaching up above Dracula's head and grabbing the line to still it's movement. With the combined weight, she could see the cable digging into Dracula's flesh, his blood dripping down into his shirt. If this went on, he would be decapitated. She quickly looked at the brick wall and she let go of her Mate to grasp it with her other hand and take her body off of his so that he too could climb. Simon saw this and misunderstood, thinking that she was trying to get away from the vampire and pull herself to safety. "He's brainwashed you," Simon said angrily, jerking at the line again violently. Mary's claws lost their hold on the wall and her legs slipped from the other vampire's waist. Her crimson eyes widened in shock as she was suddenly shaken loose and with a shriek of fear began to fall like a stone. Oh god, would this kill her or just give massive injuries? She felt terror consume her as the air rushed by and her head went up to Dracula's, meeting his eyes and locking on as she clawed at the air, trying to grab him. "Mary!" Dracula called out, hands grabbing at her swiftly and she gripped his fingers then slid off., but she was too far down and he could only watch in terror. She was going to be hurt badly. No, he couldn't let it happen. He snarled in fury and struggled against the metal binding about his throat. The sun abruptly came above the horizon and a line of golden light began to sweep across the darkness. 'Mary!' Dracula called out mentally in anguish. No, she couldn't die! He had waited for her for so long. She would turn to dust if the light touched her. 'My heart is yours.' Mary whispered tenderly, her lids closing so that she couldn't see the white bricks of the building and windows going past at a sickening speed. She waited for the impact of the ground and sensed the sun coming up. It was too late. For her and him too. She couldn't free him and the sun had arrived. "No." The dark-haired man roared, hands reaching up to the cable about his neck. He didn't care if he died, but his Mate could not. Not her. His sharp claws dug into the cable and snapped it in one swift movement as if it were a piece of string. He used his vampiric speed and swiftly began to plummet after the girl. "No! Mary, my god." Simon shouted in horror. He could do nothing but watched as the girl he loved fell to her death, and it was his fault! If the fall did not kill her, then the sun would. He saw as the dark lord had vanished from sight just as the sun touched where he had dangled and he cursed the vampire for just letting Mary die. The ground rushing up to meet her Mary, seconds from impact. She couldn't watch and squeezed her eyes closed tightly. So, this was how it all ended? Tears slid out from under her lids and she wished that things could have gone different. She was leaving her Mate behind and that made her want to scream in anguish. Just as her body was about to smash into the unyielding cement of the street below, strong arms suddenly wrapped about her waist and back. Everything stopped dead, mere feet from the sidewalk and her face buried into black clothing, knowing exactly who held her to his muscled chest. She was cradled lovingly there, and smiled as her overwhelming relief made her brain shut down and she fainted. "My Mate. My beloved Mary." Dracula whispered as his feet touched the ground and he embraced the girl in his arms tightly. His face lowered and he pressed his lips to hers fervently. "I swear that I will never try to leave you again." His blood red eyes flashed up to the roof of the building they had fallen from and saw the mortal staring back down. The vampire bared his teeth in fury, tempted to go up there and rip Simon into little pieces. But his Mate came first. He summoned his powers and vanished, taking them both to safety away from the light of the sun. Up above, Simon slumped down onto the ground, and put his head in his hands. Damn it, Dracula had Mary and there was nothing he could do. They were going into hiding for the day... "But I can find them." He said suddenly. The man got to his feet and stumbled towards the door leading downstairs. He would track down that vile creature and save the girl he loved. When Mary awoke, she found that she was laying on something cold and hard and everything was dark. Her vampiric eyes saw through the gloom easily and she swiftly found her Mate, a deep relief filling her. He was standing there, leaning against the wall near the door to protecting her. She smiled at him softly, then looked about curiously, seeing that the two of them in some kind of burial vault. For some reason, that fact didn't creep her out.
"You're awake, my Mary." His smooth voice and tender. She could feel his love through their bond. Her eyes went to his neck and saw that it was completely healed. Her hands rose, and she saw that her ripped claws and skin were also repaired. Had Dracula given her his blood while she slept? She licked her lips and could taste copper. He had fed her. And the girl felt...different. Less emotional and a lot more deadly. Everything had changed. Mary sat up with a gasp as her memory began to work and she recalled what had happened. The dark-haired vampire walked over to the stone coffin she had been laying on. "You're alright." She breathed, jumping to the ground and striding quickly over to him. He stood still as she reached out and traced the smooth unblemished skin of his neck. 'How long was I out?' She asked mentally, growing as comfortable with that manner of speak as a verbal one. 'An hour only. He replied, smiling slightly at her stunned look. She had a lot to learn about the powers of an immortal vampire. As one of his own blood, Mary was far superior to others of their kind. He had also fed her his powerful blood while she slept and the girl was no doubt already feeling the changes. Dracula watched her with his dark eyes intently, as if he were unsure whether she were real...or if he deserved her. Mary was suddenly filled with fury as her mind went over the events of the night. He had broken that cable like it was a piece of straw! He'd been trying to die even after she had said she loved him. How dare he? "I don't know whether to hit you or kiss you!" She hissed furiously, grabbing his arms and shaking him. "You could have broken that cable at any time, couldn't you?" The girl demanded. He would have left her all alone! The ancient vampire stepped closer until his chest pressing against hers firmly and his head was inclined down. But Mary was still angry and backed off, knowing that if he kissed her, she would never get out her words. He would make her forget. Dracula had always held that power over her, powerful and graceful and beautiful. She had fallen hard in love for him, despite what he was. She watched with wide dark eyes as the vampire stalked her like a big cat. Dracula followed step by step until he had his Mate pressed against the coffin and pinned between his body and it. He smiled at her wary look, knowing that she was still furious. He would never willingly have caused her pain. "Yes, of course I could have snapped it at any time. It is nothing to a vampire." He responded to her question in a calm tone, and felt her answering anger and sadness beating at his mind. Perhaps Mary would never forgive him for trying to die, but they had centuries to be together. Perhaps even millennia. The small girl's eyes narrowed on his, crimson burning in her dark eyes. She growled low and tried to lean back away from his body. The other vampire leant into her warm body and his arms went around each side of her, boxing her in firmly. One hand trailed over the smooth stone of the coffin almost caressingly, wishing that it was her skin. He burned for her. And then his dark eyes swept up to meet hers, gaze scorching in its intensity. He wanted to devour her body and soul, and the girl's blood called out to his. The emotions inside of Dracula were almost out of control, and he held himself back with great difficulty. His Mate was only a new vampire, and he did not want his dark passions to frighten her. She had no idea what sort of a creature she had become bonded to for all eternity. "You are welcome to kiss me whenever you wish, beloved." He whispered, one hand reaching for her throat and caressing lightly. Mary looked rather stunned as his warm touch made her shiver in delight and the expression in his eyes made her want to throw herself into his arms and let him do whatever he wanted. He gazed at her like she was the most precious being in the world, and she could see desire in the dark depths. There was a leashed power in the arms about her and she could sense that the vampire wanted to touch her desperately, but was holding back. "Don't change the subject." She retorted, anger rising again. Her Mate had tried to kill himself and she felt like slapping him hard. Then she would kiss it better. The man smiled slightly, hand still moving over her skin. She was so beautiful, her skin so white and unblemished. He wanted to skin his teeth into her and drink her blood. Take her body until they were both consumed. He could see the knowledge in her eyes, and knew that Mary could sense his emotions clearly. She wanted to give, but not till they spoke of what had happened. "I'm merely dissuading you." Dracula murmured, hand sliding upwards until he cupped her jaw. The vampire moved his index finger along her cheek in a seductive manner and moved his face closer to hers, loving the way startled desire sprang into her eyes. "Are you done talking?" Dracula's eyes burnt hungrily into hers and his finger smoothed along her bottom lip. He wanted this girl so badly. She almost gave into the lust between them, but her Mate would not try and distract her before she was done chiding him! "No, not yet." She told him firmly, trying to back up a step, but as her legs were pressed hard against the stone coffin behind her, and the other vampire was pinning her tightly, the girl had nowhere to go. One of his legs slid in between hers and she gasped as she felt him against her intimately, all hard muscle and warm flesh. Mary licked her lips nervously, not knowing if she could handle such a gorgeous powerful man who wanted her so badly they could both taste it. They way he was staring at her made arousal burn through her body, and her heart thundered in her chest. He wanted her badly. She froze when Dracula eyes flared a deep blood-red in pure lust as he saw her tongue moving over her lips. His finger followed the wet trail and he moved even closer, practically molding every muscle in his body to hers, so that each could feel how much the other wanted them. His hardness dug into her stomach, and her breasts were aching, the nipples poking into his chest. 'Enough, Mate.' He urged mentally, crimson eyes blazing into hers with a frightening passion. The time for talk was past and he wanted to taste her, to feel her. "And how can I convince you to stop?" He inquired, voice like silk. His other hand rose and swept along the smooth line of her neck in a loving manner. "You talk too much, Mary." Dracula cupped her face in both his hands and moved his face closer until their breath mingled, almost kissing. So achingly close. 'You convinced me to live, beloved. What will you give me in return?' The dark-haired vampire purred mentally, his tongue reaching out to trace along her bottom lip where she had licked. He tasted her and groaned. She was utterly delicious. Mary moaned in return helplessly, her blood moving like fire through her veins. Her Mate tasted utterly divine and she almost melting into a puddle of useless goo. "You're too smooth a talker for me to fight." She whispered against his mouth, getting weak-kneed. What was it about this man that made her go all to mush when he touched her? Or even spoke to her? The sexual tension between them almost shimmered with a tangible touch and was exquisite. Would it always be like this? She sure as hell hoped so. Why was she even talking when Dracula was ready to eat her up? This gorgeous vampire wanted her, so why was she harping on about what had happened and denying them both pleasure? 'We are one soul.' Dracula murmured into her mind, lips inching achingly closer. 'Mine.' The vampire's lips touched hers finally in the lightest of butterfly touches and they both moaned. And then his was turning his head, mouth slanting over hers and he kissed her hard, intending to claim. His mouth ravished hers in possession and love and lust and she let him. The smaller vampire pressed as closely as she could to her Mate and kissed him back with abandon, delighting in the way that Dracula was taking her so possessively, the kiss searing into her very soul. Their minds entwined tightly and she could feel the frightening lust and need that he had for her. But there was also love. Tears came to her eyes from the emotion. 'Don't ever leave me...' Mary thought to him desperately, arms sliding up the man's muscled chest and then going about his neck tightly. She lifted herself higher and crushed her breasts between them, loving how it felt against her nipples. Her heart swelled with love as their bodies and souls connected on several levels. He was hers. Forever. 'Mine.' The girl whispered fiercely into his head, laying a claim. 'Yours.' Dracula whispered back in joy. How did a cursed vampire like himself ever deserve such a Mate? A beautiful girl that was all his and loved him just as deeply as he did her. 'I will never leave you, Mary.' He gave her his oath, mind caressing hers.
