Coruscant I
Even now, the memory made him smile.
As long as she avoided Obi-Wan and Mace, it was easy enough for Kalinda to slip away from the main group and make her way to the Meditation Gardens. At the main level of the Temple, there was an abundance of foliage for her to seclude herself while she waited for Stonewall. Powerful lamps, hung stories above her position and camouflaged, added a brightness to the gardens, providing light for the plants as well as lending a general feeling of being out-of-doors to the garden. She made her way along one of the stone pathways that led through a particularly dense area, brushing away overhanging vines as she did so, before reaching a wooden bench that rested beside a pond, the surface of which was glassy and smooth.
For a moment she sat. It was quiet in this section of the garden, unlike the Room of a Thousand Fountains, which had constant, albeit pleasant, noise of moving water. Kali studied the pond and cast her mind to Stonewall. It was growing more and more natural for him to reside in her thoughts, and she was unsure of how to quantify her feelings for the clone captain. I need to be careful, she thought, taking a deep breath. But something about him...I can't look away. He's always on my mind. I wonder if... The thought trailed off as she shook her head, instead taking a deep breath as she tried to quiet her mind, and wait. She didn't have to wait long. His presence – flickering between anticipation, eagerness and something else she didn't have a name for – reached her before the sound of his booted feet, soft against the grass. Here, Stone, she thought, reaching out to him through the Force. Moments later he appeared, his armor gleaming in the “sunlight” that filtered in from the upper-levels, kama swaying with his movements. His almost-golden eyes cast briefly over the pond, the trees and grass, but rested on her, and he smiled. She smiled back and rose to greet him. “Hello, there.” “General.” The smile widened into a grin. Chuckling, she indicated a path that led away from them. “Come on. I have something to show you.” Kali reached back to take his hand and guide him along, but was startled when he pulled her close and kissed her once, hard enough to make her breathless. When they parted he gave a shrug, though he was still smiling. “Couldn't resist any longer. And we're alone, from what I can tell.” Kalinda tightened her hand around his. “Let's not risk anything.” Her head tilted and he nodded in understanding; they began to thread their way out of the garden. As they walked she cast him a wry glance. “Sorry to make you miss the tour. I can tell that you were looking forward to it.” “I guess you'll just have to make it up to me somehow,” he replied. There was a slight pause, then his pitch dropped and he said her name, the timbre of his voice causing the hairs of her arms to stand up. He squeezed her hand and they continued on. With the group gone, it was easy for the Jedi and the clone captain to slip through the Temple halls unnoticed. Soon they were in a turbolift, and as Kali punched in their destination's floor designation, Stonewall glanced at her. “So...where are we going, again?” She smiled at him but did not answer. At last the lift paused and the door opened. Kali stepped out, Stone on her heels, and they made their way down a long corridor, along either side of which rested a series of identical doors. Finally, she paused before the one she'd come to think of as hers, despite the fact that she had not been inside for nearly half a year, since she began working with Stonewall and the rest of Shadow Squad. “Here we are,” she said as she activated the panel and the door slid open. “Home sweet home.” Stonewall peered inside, then looked back at her, his expression caught between embarrassment and surprise. “It's...” Kali glanced around him and groaned, the memory of her last minutes in her quarters flooding back to her. “Trashed,” she finished, stepping over the threshold and looking around with disdain. “Wow...guess I should have prepared for a guest.” The apartment was identical to one that was allotted to all Jedi Knights, sparse and modest, with a kitchen area, seating area, 'fresher and bedroom; she was one of the lucky ones, and had a few small windows that looked out onto the city-scape. During her absence, a fine layer of dust had settled over every surface, and she dimly remembered that she hadn't arranged for a service droid to look in on the place every now and then, or even to clean up the initial mess. And there was a bit of it: stacks of holos and flimsies littered the couch and low table before it; the cases containing the instruments she'd not taken with her were lined up along the wall, covered in dust; several old robes were scattered about, and she noted that the kina plant that Kit had given her had shriveled to nothing in its pot on the kitchen counter. Stone stepped in behind her and shut the door. “You were called to the Temple pretty quickly once we landed,” he said, placing his hands on her hips and giving a small squeeze. “I'll let it go this one time...” His words trailed off as he bent his head to kiss her neck, his mouth automatically going for the spot just beneath her jawline that made her knees go weak. For a moment she was lost in a haze of sensation, then she pulled back and glanced at him. “In the spirit of the day, let me give you a tour.” Without letting him reply, she began stepping through the small series of rooms. “This is the living room – hasn't been lived-in much, lately, but you get the idea. There's the kitchenette, or as I like to think of it, 'the place where I keep my spare boots.'” At his questioning look she pulled open a cabinet door and showed him an array of old boots stacked within. He sighed but said nothing. Until they reached her bedroom. “Kali...” She watched as he took in the sight: stacks of robes, tunics, and various other bits of clothing were piled on top of the bed, and the floor was sprinkled with old leggings and underwear. A rounded window in the wall above the bed shed enough light within the room so that every detail was laid into stark relief, with nothing able to hide. The clone captain gave her a frown that only held a trace of mockery. “I can't believe you give the guys grief for being messy when...” He checked himself, running a hand over his face before looking back at her. “How can you live in this?” “I don't,” she replied. “This is what happens when you receive orders to ship out on short notice, which is what happened the last time we were on Coruscant....remember?” She gave him a knowing look, and a strange expression came over his face as he reached for her. “We wound up on Japarran,” he said, pulling her close. “Of course I remember.” Fire: it was in her fingertips and behind her lips. It made her heart stumble and race along as he bent his head and kissed her. Stonewall laced his gloved hands in her hair and she couldn't help the soft moan that escaped her at the action, even as she clutched at the back of his neck and his waist. Between the plating of his armor she could feel the black body-glove, beneath which the muscles of his torso tensed at her touch. He was warm, as he always was. When they parted, he studied her as if he was aware of nothing else in the galaxy. Finally he cleared his throat and glanced around at the bed. “Do you think it's safe to move the pile, or should I fetch my blaster in case something's alive in there?” Kali rolled her eyes. Moments later they had the bed cleared off, covered with a set of relatively clean sheets. Stone had barely tucked in the edges of his side before she was in front of him, peeling off his armor with gusto even as he bent to untie her sash and slip her out of her tabard. Once he had stacked the plastoid pieces out of the way, he glanced around once more, his hands lingering over the fastenings on his body-glove. Kali smiled at his expression, which was thoughtful. “What is it?” She always refrained from peering into his mind with the Force, thinking that it gave her an unfair advantage, but she'd come to know his expressions quite well. He actually flushed, glancing down at his bare feet once before looking up at her. “This is the first time we've been away from the ship...and the others.” It's true, she realized with a start. We've never been alone like this. Her cabin aboard their squad's small ship offered only limited privacy, and they were constantly afraid of being too loud or otherwise exuberant. So she smiled and stepped to him, sighing as his hands skimmed along her bare skin. “Then let's enjoy it while we can.”For a few moments he was truly lost to her, as often happened when she kissed him. In the back of his mind, Stonewall marveled at the way that kissing her, running his hands along the bare skin of her breasts and hips was – not normal, as that would imply that it was commonplace – but right. It was right to kiss her, to feel the press of her skin against his, and he exhaled in satisfaction when he stripped off his body-glove and looked at her. Only to see that her eyes had grown large, and she was staring at his torso. In the afternoon light that was streaming in from the window the room was well-lit, and he realized that he was standing in the beam. Glancing down, he sighed. Kriffing scars. Not that she hadn't seen them before, but the light was particularly strong here, and the contrasting slashes of pale and dark stood out rather well at the moment. Mostly they were small: remnants of shrapnel and slag, places where his armor had been compromised and cut into him. There were others that were larger, evidence of true injury that had required copious amounts of bacta to heal, but refused to smooth over. The worst one – the one that had nearly cost him his life on Teyr – crept around his left side like a pink, jagged snake. Kali's fingertips reached forward to brush his skin with a feather-touch, and his breath caught. “Stone...” Her voice was thick as she traced the scars, her brows knitting. “I had no idea...I've never seen you in this light.” She looked up at him, dark eyes still wide, but filled with something that made his throat tighten. Not pity – he'd seen that look on her face before – but it held similar elements; it was empathy, he realized. She can relate. He skimmed her cheek with his hand. “It's okay, Kali. I'm no worse off than any other clone.” That was true; it was a common practice among troopers to compare battle-scars and the accompanying stories. There were, of course, those ignorant clones who thought that a multitude of scars made for a lesser man, but it was a position generally not shared by the majority of the army. “It doesn't matter how hard you can hit, or how much damage you can do,” he added. “The only thing that matters is how much you can take, and still keep going after.” With that he bent his head and kissed her again. His body was reacting to her proximity, and he decided that he didn't want to wait any longer. The moment when she sighed and reached her arms around him...he wondered if it was possible for a man to really die of joy, of the happiness that he didn't think his heart could contain, and it was in that instant that he knew with absolute certainty, what it was that he felt for her. Kali whispered his name, and he lowered her onto the sheets, kissing her jaw, her neck, and her shoulders as he did so. His only thought was to be as close to her as possible, but he held himself back, intent on hearing her say his name again. Louder. Indeed. “Stone...what are-” The words were cut off as his mouth sought her right breast, his lips moving across the raised flesh in small concentric circles even as his free hand slid lower, to her core. He noted that she seemed ready for him, and smiled to himself at the fact, even as he ran his fingers along her lips slowly, carefully. Beneath his touch, she whimpered, her back arching up as if to allow him greater access. Stone lifted his head and watched her for a moment while he concentrated on the soft folds between her legs, teasing the sensitive skin with a light touch. The Jedi murmured his name, along with a string of incoherent sounds, and her hands clutched at the sheets beneath her. Here he said her name, noting that every hair on her arms was standing at attention, and that her skin was prickled. She whispered something – he thought it may have been his name again – and he smiled as he bent to kiss her navel, then her upper thigh, taking a moment to swirl his tongue along the soft skin. This made her groan and her hips lift as if to greet him, and he heard her say his name once more, followed by “please.” “Please what?” Leaning close to her core, he could smell her; warm and musky, and a trace of something sweet. When he spoke his breath touched her skin, and she whimpered again. Rather than let her reply, he kissed the inside of her upper thigh again and continued his way down her left leg. When he reached her knee, he paused over a knotted pink scar that he'd caught glimpses of, but had never seen up close. It was not a pretty sight; deeper and wider than he'd imagined, and he knew from his own experiences how painful the injury must have been. “Kali,” he whispered, kissing the tangled bit of flesh gently. He nearly said it, right then, but something stilled his voice, and he looked up at her instead. Her eyes were closed, and for one moment it seemed as though she was lost in sleep, but he knew better. So he kissed her scar again and made his way back up to her core, noting how she began trembling as he did so. No words came to either of them for some time as he worked her over. Her whimpers turned into gasps, which became cries; she was pleading with him in a voice he'd never heard her use before this moment. He found himself lost in her body, in her taste and smell; after some amount of time he reached up to caress her folds even as he sought out the bead that he knew would bring about her release – eventually. Coupled with the writhing of her hips beneath him, Stonewall felt a heady rush of arousal and strength fill him as he toyed with her, but never let her go. Several times he had to shift his position in order to accommodate his swelling hardness. His own body ached for release as well, but he kept the feeling in check, knowing that it would be time for that soon enough. Finally he heard his name from her throat; this time there was a more desperate edge to her voice than he'd ever known, and he obliged, focusing his attention on one particular place and bringing her to the peak. It was almost more than he could bear, to hear her shouting his name among a string of other, incoherent words, and even as he welcomed the tightening of her body that accompanied her release, he groaned in anticipation. But he did not rise from his place before her until her movements stilled, and he felt her hands twine in his short hair. Stone paused to kiss the inside of her thighs again before clambering back up to lie beside her, hardly able to withhold his smile of satisfaction as her chest rose and fell in a rather alluring way. He tried to think of something clever to say, but desire had muddled his thoughts, so he only watched her regain her senses; moments later her eyes opened and she looked at him. Now he couldn't resist. “Welcome back.” As he spoke, he traced the lines of her breasts with his fingertips. The light that was streaming into the room was still fairly bright, and he could see that her chest was coated with a sheen of perspiration. Her throat moved in a swallow, then she leaned over and kissed him, rolling him onto his back with a strength that was unassisted by the Force. It was his turn to groan as she made her way down his torso; he had a thought that her hands lingered over the worst of his scars, but it was fleeting, as her mouth was upon him in the next moment.
As skilled as Stonewall had become in the act of love, Kali knew that she was perhaps more so, and it wasn't long before the movement of her tongue and lips against his swollen skin made his own pleas form in between inchoate murmurs. Her hands – still warm from the rush of blood through her body – rested against his hips and ghosted over his inner-thighs as her pace quickened. The soldier groped for her, his baritone voice throaty with arousal, and she smiled despite herself. Since she was still reeling a little from the aftershocks of her orgasm, Kali took a moment and slowed her movements to what she knew would be almost maddening to him. Her captain moved beneath her; his breath was short and he said her name again and again in, a litany of desire, though she caught the occasional sprinkle of Mando'a in his words. There were curses, pleas, among other things that she couldn't translate. His motions became more and more erratic, and she quickened her pace enough to bring him closer to satisfaction but a hairsbreadth short of where he needed to be. In this moment he was completely bared, open to her in a way that she'd never seen. Where Stonewall was normally quiet and precise, the man who shuddered beneath her was boisterous in his pleasure. Reckless. His hands sought her hair and he tangled his fingers within the dark strands, though he didn't try to move her; the Mando'a faded and turned into wordless utterances, loud enough to make her thankful for the sound-proofing of her walls. The tide of his desire began to consume her, piquing her own body back into a state of arousal, so she worked him harder, faster. When his breath hitched and he silenced, she took him in as much as she could; the next moment his release flooded her, and he cried out her name as his hips bucked. For several minutes he lay still, panting as he watched her make her way back up to him, stretching her body alongside his. Before she could speak he reached around and pulled her face to his, kissing her soundly. After parting, they laid next to one another for some time, watching the bend of light around the room as the afternoon began to fade. “I think the private tour was a good idea,” she said at last. She reached her hand down and began to idly toy with him again, noting with satisfaction as he began to stiffen in response, one of the better side-effects of his genetically enhanced stamina. “Don't you?” Where he normally would have answered in kind, he only looked at her. His breathing had long since steadied, and he reached his hand out and smoothed back her hair from her face, his mouth opening as if to speak. There was something in his eyes as they fixed on hers, something that she'd never seen before, something that she was not sure if she recognized. Her brows knit. “Stone? What is it? Are you okay?” Then his expression changed; he swallowed and nodded before smiling at her. “I'm doing pretty good,” he replied, still stroking her cheek. As he said the words his voice trailed to a whisper, and he leaned in to kiss her once more. “About as close to perfect as a man can get, I think.” She smiled beneath his mouth. “Glad to hear it.”
Meanwhile...
Through the fading haze of the Coruscanti afternoon, Rex watched as General Skywalker and the Naboo senator slipped back into the crowd, and tried not to notice how flushed either of them appeared. Skywalker, he thought with a frown. You should be more careful. Sneaking off with your girl is all well and good, but in the middle of the Jedi Temple? A sigh left him. It wasn't really any of his business; besides, he had other things to think about than the personal life of his CO. Beside him, Cody's head was tilted back as he took in the enormous statue of some great Jedi or another, and let out a low whistle of appreciation before glancing around them, then back at the captain. “Fierfek,” he said, his brows drawn. “Where the hell is Stonewall?” Good question, Rex thought, his mind going back to the captain's face when he'd watched the dark-haired Jedi approach them, just prior to the tour. It wasn't an uncommon thing for a clone to look at a Jedi – particularly a female one – in that way. What was unusual was the fact that she returned the gaze. “No idea,” he replied with a shrug. “Maybe he got stuck on the 'fresher from that fancy food.” Cody gave a snort of amusement. “Poor guy. He missed all the fun.”While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
