please don’t read if you’re not into that sort of thing.

number 25. This is just me playing around with the characters really and I
might rewrite it later but I wanted to try and get a feel for these guys before
writing anything epic. Hope you enjoy!
Life in New Midian settled
slowly into almost familiar patterns. Those able quickly started taking
advantage of the city, wiring electricity and plumbing. Rooms were claimed and
thin veils of privacy erected. Children began playing and learning the new
tunnels.
Peloquin was restless. He
wandered the tunnels moodily, watching families making homes, watched lovers
making nests, and the beast in his belly growled fitfully.
He finally came to the
‘courtyard’, a former subway station, which was becoming a hub of activity and
trade. He caught Kinski’s scent a moment before he heard the soft deep voice
telling a story to a group of children. Something in him relaxed slightly and
he leaned against a pillar to listen to the ‘Tales of Cabal’ with Tater piping
in occasionally. When the children scattered home Peloquin threw himself onto
the bench beside his long time friend.
“Before you know it,
you’ll be following me upstairs and telling me I’m setting a bad example,” He
offered, showing a sharp toothed smile.
“You’ll never change,
Peloquin, and I’ll always be there to try and save you from yourself,” The moon
faced man gave him a fond half smile then stood to stretch.
“I like myself, beast
included, Kinski. I was born Breed, I like it,” He watched the play of
well-toned muscle under the other man’s pale skin. Sun didn’t touch Kinski, but
like the real moon he seemed to still reflect a bit of light, a sliver of hope.
“I resist temptation too,
Peloquin, though admittedly, my former humanity might be the reason human flesh
is less of a lure,” He started towards the tunnels and then paused, looking
back. Peloquin stood and followed.
“You? Temptation?” The
Breed grinned, eyes sharpening as the dark closed around them. “I thought you
were Cabal’s poster boy. Baphomet’s perfect servant.”
“I didn’t say it was
something that went against Baphomet’s laws,” He felt more then saw Kinski shake
his head. “Is everything about meat to you?”
“Not everything...” He let
his voice drop to a soft purr that made his lovers shiver. “Not that you’ve
ever taken me up on that.”
“Meat or sex then,” Kinski
sighed, knife meeting Peloquin’s arm and drawing blood when the other Breed’s
hand made a move for his posterior. A brief tussle and the red skinned Breed
was pinned to the rough bricks of the subway tunnel. Peloquin welcomed the
distraction and they were soon in an all out fight on the old tracks.
“I like fights too,” He
offered, straddling Kinski. The other male’s skull barely missed his chin and
he rolled away helping his not so amused opponent stand.
“I know, but something’s
bothering you or you wouldn’t be so eager to get into one,” Gripping the hand
without a second thought Kinski stood.
“I feel restless,”
Shrugging he followed Kinski through until they entered what had once been a
maintenance office, just off the tracks. The files that Kinski had found had
been ancient and yellowed, the rotting corpse propped against a wall had been
all but bones. The bodies found in their new home were being buried in a mass
grave in one of the smaller side caves exploring Breed had found.
The desk had been turned
and shoved into a corner and was now held Kinski’s spare blades and a
whetstone. A sleeping area was neatly made, pillow, sleeping bag and blankets
made up as though they were on a real bed not a corner of floor. A chair was
against the desk and Peloquin took it as Kinski leaned against the desk.
Picking up the stone Kinski spit to wet it and began honing one of his blades.
The noise and presence was soothing and undemanding. Peloquin glanced around
the room, a sink, which worked if the drip was an indicator, against the far
wall, and the softly glowing single bulb above them spoke of better times for
the Breed. The restlessness gnawed at him again as he noted Kinski’s spare
clothes drying by the sink.
Two filing cabinets,
papers from the desk inside and the other drawers cleaned. He knew because he’d
helped Kinski sort the papers. Maps were kept as was any wiring or plumbing
information. Time sheets were put in a box for fire tender. He’d dibbed the
bottle of whiskey that had been in a locked bottom drawer and despite the boring
task had enjoyed himself.
“Do you feel closed in?”
Kinski asked finally when it became apparent the other Breed wasn’t speaking.
Peloquin considered the possibility carefully then shook his head.
“No, no more then usual.
Just edgy. Like I’m forgetting something, or I should be doing something.”
“Well, I’d suggest
mediation and soul searching, but I doubt you’ll do anything but meditate on sex
and then search out your next encounter...” The knife scraped across the
whetstone. He paused to hand Peloquin a piece of cloth, nodding at the oozing
cut that his blade left on the Peloquin’s left forearm. Taking the cloth out of
habit the Breed lifted the arm to examine the small, but deep, cut before he
licked it clean.
Kinski made a sound that
could have been disgust or exasperation. Flashing his teeth Peloquin chased the
sluggish flow, eyes sliding to the right he noted something in Kinski’s dark
eyes that he’d rarely seen. Hunger.
So maybe the ‘good son’
did know about temptation.
“Want a taste?” He offered
blue eyes darkening as the beast peeked out.
Kinski averted his gaze,
shaking his head. The scrape of blade and stone started again, louder and
almost desperate. He had sat with Kinski while he’d done this before, listening
to the knife against stone while the others laughed and talked around a fire,
listening to them pair up and wander away, often joining in himself. But Kinski,
the ever vigilant, was almost always the last to bed and first on watch.
Before, in the days of old
Midian they had sat together in easy silence as Kinski sharpened his blades. He
was always full of tales of his latest conquest or his latest forbidden
adventure, while the moon faced Breed listened and occasionally chastised him
between excited talk from others. When he actually got his friend to talk about
the past it was in short painful burst, love and hope broken and slipping out
like shards between his teeth. The final mystery of the pain was given to him
freely before they came to their new home.
In all that time together
he had never witnessed Kinski eyes darken with the hunger he’d seen peeking out
just moments ago. Anger he got from the other man easily, worry, pain, but
never that glimpse of primal need.
It wasn’t in his nature to
let the slip go. Kinski still had a knife in his belt and one in his hand but a
little blood might be just what he needed to get a rise. He moved quickly,
feeling a knife dig into his stomach warningly as he pressed into Kinski, lips
finding lips. Crescent faces were interesting as far as shape went but the lips
beneath his were the prize of the face, fighting back with an equal fierceness
as his tongue tried to claim ground he worked the knife out of Kinski’s belt and
tossed it away.
Then Kinski’s teeth
clamped on his tongue, knife at his stomach cutting into his shirt. He let his
own sharp teeth bring blood from the inside of his cheek and he felt a tremor
pass through the other Breed as the blood slipped between their joined lips.
The mouth under his
relaxed and he dove into the taste of Kinski and warm red heat. The knife
between them clattered to the floor and he pressed himself into Kinski. He
could feel an answering heat against his own hardness. Kinski shoved him away
with a gasp.
“Enough, I’m not in the
mood to become another notch on your bedpost, Peloquin,” He growled, hand rising
to wipe at the dribble of red on his mouth.
“Yeah? How long’s it been
for you, Kinski?” Peloquin stalked back to him, invading his personal space but
not touching.
“I don’t see...”
“I’ve never smelt you like
this,” Hot breath ghosted over Kinski’s face and Peloquin’s blue-green eyes were
half hid by heavy lids. “All spicy with lust...never, not once in all the years
I’ve known you...”
“I chose not to take
lovers,” Kinski ground out, one hand sliding towards his blades.
“You’re afraid.”
“I don’t need...”
Hot lips closed on his
jugular and instinct demanded Kinski raise a blade to his friend’s head.
“You’re afraid of the
pain...the betrayal,” Peloquin pressed closer, despite the shaking blade near
his temple, until the lengths of their bodies were touching. Arms around
Kinski’s waist he felt the knife slowly fall away and rubbed his cheek against
the rough beard. “We’re not so different, I lost lovers but I took more to bury
the pain, to feel the closeness. You pulled away. How long Kinski?”
“Not since I was
human...not since...” Lips silenced the husky confession.
“Let me...taste you...”
Peloquin nostrils flared, the spicy scent of Kinski’s arousal filling his
lungs. He could feel Kinski’s back tense and he rubbed his hands along the
tense muscles trying to soothe them as he leaned in to kiss the other man again,
finally feeling Kinki open to him. He drew back reluctantly, hands sliding to
Kinski’s hips to steady himself as he knelt.
“Peloquin...”
“Have some faith, Kinski,”
He was already undoing the other man’s jeans, “I’ve done this a few times.”
“I’m not sure I should be
letting you do this at...By Baphomet!” Peloquin pulled away from his work to
grin up at the Kinski’s exclamation.
“Just lean back and
enjoy...” Peloquin’s tongue flicked out again, stroking the head of Kinski’s
shaft, tasting the burst of spice and salt that arousal and sex brought.
Careful of his teeth, nothing like a little fang to end a good blowjob early, he
swallowed the length. It was over much too quickly for him to properly enjoy
the taste of hard flesh on his tongue, but considering he was surprised Kinski
lasted past the first lick. “So I make you that hot, huh?”
“Peloquin...” Kinski
barely seemed able to muster a glare. The glare was ruined by the husky tone.
“Mmmm?” Tucking little
Kinski in he slid back up to share a salty kiss with the other male. His own
hard cock begged for release and he rubbed suggestively against his friend. A
hesitant hand came to rest on his stomach, Kinski looked up quickly and
apologetically when he touched the cut shirt. Peloquin growled slightly,
catching the other Breed’s wrist he put that warm hand where it needed to be,
against his straining erection.
He let out a soft sigh
when Kinski finally used both hands to let his engorged cock into the open,
leaning in to put his forehead on Kinski’s shoulder and brace himself on the
desk.
“Like that...” He purred,
thrusting into the calloused hand as Kinski hesitantly explored the turgid
flesh. “Feels great...” He encouraged, teeth worrying at a convenient ear.
“I’ve never actually...”
The fingertips stroking him became subtly firmer and he made a sound of
appreciation into the ear he had been playing with as Kinski spoke. “I’ve never
actually done anything with...that is except for a lady or two...”
“S’ok, you’re doing...mmmm...just
fine...” The smell of blood and sex, not to mention the stroking brought him
over the edge quickly. “Nice...” Puling back he zipped back up and tossed the
discarded rag from earlier when the ‘Breed looked at a loss.
“Peloquin...”
“Kinski, stop thinking,
c’mon, let’s ruffle your bed,” Stripping off his shirt he tossed it over the
chair urged Kinski out of his armband and vest. “Lay with me...”
“What does...this...do to
us?” Kinski asked, setting his armband beside the knives and bending to pick up
the scattered knives on the floor.
“You’re thinking...”
Peloquin wrapped his arms around the man from behind. “Why does it have to
anything? We’re gonna be at each other’s throats half the time, on the same side
most of the time, and sometimes...we’ll be lovers. Now come lay down, I’ll try
to get you to go all the way next date...”
