Chapter 9: War of the Species
The Xenomorph flew at her through the air, knocking Alice to the ground with its sudden attack. She had managed to borderline catch it though, and put her legs up to her chest as the Xenomorph’s mouth opened above her in what undoubtedly would have been a head-bite had she not diverted it. She kicked the Xenomorph off her, and it slammed into the wall and dropped to the ground.
Hopping to her feet, Alice, snarled at the Xenomorph. It looked up at her and snarled back. Alice opened her mouth and suddenly spat out a series of barbs. The Xenomorph darted off, and the barbs stabbed into the metal walls. It circled around Alice before leaping against the wall and pushing off it. Alice angled her body, maneuvering around the Xenomorph and half-catching it, then tossing it aside, letting the alien’s own momentum propel it.
The Xenomorph twisted its body in the air, much like a cat, and landed on all fours. It spat a stream of acid at her, and Alice jumped back to avoid it, and then it immediately pounced at her again. This time, it successfully tackled Alice to the ground, pinning her down. It didn’t hesitate this time, and its inner jaws flew out and bit a chunk out of her shoulder. Alice howled in pain, and the Xenomorph threw back its head and screeched in, perhaps, what it believed was its victory.
Alice used the moment to her advantaged. The hair-tentacles on the sides of her head suddenly sprang to life and came up, stabbing the Xenomorph in the head. Its victory screech became a cry of pain, and Alice’s own cry joined it soon after as its acid blood burned her hair-tentacles and dripped down onto her. She rolled to the side, pushing the Xenomorph off her, and it scrambled away, taking segments of her hair-tentacles with it.
Alice got to her feet, swiping furiously at the acid blood on her, only succeeding in burning her hands and smearing the blood around. The Xenomorph got up as well, the pieces of Alice’s hair-tentacles dissolving away, and its wounds began to heal. Alice’s burns were still present as the acid ate away at them, but her shoulder wound from the Xenomorph’s bite was healing.
The Xenomorph seemed to realize that Alice’s wound was healing, and it snarled at her, sending saliva flying. With her body smoking, Alice did her best to ignore the pain as she focused on her opponent. The Xenomorph’s tail shot out, and Alice dodged as the pointed end stabbed into the wall, piercing the metal. It retracted its tail and then lashed out again, but Alice dodged it a second time. On its third attempt though, once the end buried into the wall, Alice slashed at it, cutting straight through with her claws.
The Xenomorph screeched as it lost the end of its tail, but Alice did as well, her fingers melting away. The Xenomorph waved its tail about, sending streams of acid blood flying around. Alice was splashed, and cried out again, but then went on the attack. Tentacles flew out of her breasts and stabbed into the Xenomorph, but just as with her hair-tentacles, which had already grown back, these were burned by acid as well, and Alice ended up pulling back bloody stumps that retracted back into her breasts.
Turning back to her, the Xenomorph slashed at the air with its claws. Its fingers extended into tentacles and struck Alice, leaving deep gashes. Then it opened its mouth and its inner jaws shot out. Alice stepped to the side to avoid them, and they closed over air, but then the jaws moved to the side and coiled around her like a snake. It wrapped once around her upper torso, going up her body, before its jaws chomped down on her jugular.
As Alice let out a gurgling cry, the trunk of the extendable jaws pulled her towards the Xenomorph. It grabbed hold of her, and the extendable jaws retreated, tearing out a portion of her neck in the process as they uncoiled from around her and disappeared back into the Xenomorph’s mouth. Its mouth didn’t close though, and instead it chomped down on Alice’s shoulder.
Crying out, Alice struggled in the Xenomorph’s hold, but it refused to release her as it sank its teeth even deeper into her flesh and shook its head. Its inner jaws began snapping against her as well, taking out chunks of flesh each time. Reaching up, Alice’s hand landed on one of its dorsal tubes, and she bent it back before ripping it right off its back.
The Xenomorph released her, crying out as it stumbled a bit, acid blood pouring from its injury. Although she was feeling woozy from the pain, Alice went on the attack, keeping hold of the Xenomorph’s dorsal tube. She swung it at the alien, striking it in the jaw, knocking out a few of its teeth and tearing its cheek open, causing it to cry out and stumble back. She then swiped at the Xenomorph, her fingers morphing into tentacles, leaving gashes on it similar to the ones it had left on her.
Its acid burned her, but she kept fighting, lunging forward and driving the Xenomorph’s dorsal tube into it, leaving it embedded in its torso. It squealed loudly at the impalement, and she slashed at it with her now free hand, crying out in time with the Xenomorph.
Her tentacles reverted back into fingers, and she looked at the smoking digits as the acid ate away at them. She had known it would happen when she attacked, but there was no way to avoid it though, and had lashed out anyway. She needed some time to recover now though, and let her regeneration heal her; the acid slowing down the process.
As the Xenomorph thrashed about, Alice began shuffling away, using the wall for support. Every movement hurt from the injuries the Xenomorph had delivered, as well as the acid burns. And while she had gained a tolerance to pain from the tests and experiments done to her over the years, they were nothing like this.
The Xenomorph tore the dorsal tube Alice had stabbed it with out of its body and tossed it aside. Its regeneration was already at work for its other injuries, but unlike Alice, it wasn’t covered in acid to slow it down since it wasn’t harmed by its own blood. Already its missing dorsal tube was almost half grown back, and its other injuries were either already healed or well on their way, including its stab wound. They had left it in an infuriated state though, and it turned back to Alice as she stumbled away.
It opened its now healed mouth, also having grown back its teeth, but rather than shoot out its extendable jaws, it launched the same kind of barbs Alice had fired at it earlier. They stabbed into her back and she cried out, falling to her stomach in a heap. The Xenomorph began stalking towards her, avoiding the numerous holes its acid blood had burned through the floor. It raised its tail, revealing that the spear-like end was just finishing growing back, and stretched it out over Alice as she crawled away.
The tail came down, impaling Alice through the back, and she howled. It then began dragging her back before lifting her into the air, the end of its tail protruding from her stomach. It brought her close until they were right in front of each other, face-to-face. Its mouth opened as it hissed at her, exposing its inner jaws with obvious intent.
Through her pain, Alice managed to act. Knowing what the consequences would be, she reached up, grasped the Xenomorph’s head, and opened her mouth. A tentacle shot out, at the end of which was her multi-barbed tongue. It stabbed into the Xenomorph’s head, puncturing straight through its skull. Its acid blood burned her, as she knew it would, and she retracted her tongue-tentacle, her hand going to her mouth.
The Xenomorph let out a strange, pained sound and stumbled back as if in a daze, a hole now present in its head. Its tail flung around wildly, and Alice flew off the end of it, landing painfully on her side with a hole in her torso. The Xenomorph stumbled around, clawing at its own head, and the hole Alice had put in it slowly closed. It stopped clawing at itself as the injury completely healed and let out an angry hiss.
Turning back to Alice, it saw her dragging herself across the floor, using the holes its acid blood had burned in the floor to grab onto and pull herself along. The wound in her torso was still present, but well on its way to healing. Hissing, the Xenomorph crouched down and pounced at her.
Alice knew the Xenomorph was going to be upon her at any moment. Despite the pain she was in, she somehow managed to time things just right. The spikes going down her back suddenly extended outward several feet, and the Xenomorph came down on them, impaling itself. It squealed loudly as it hung in the air a foot or two above Alice, thrashing about furiously. Alice cried out as well as the alien’s acid blood poured down onto her, and she forced herself to turn onto her side so it would stop falling on her.
The acid blood pooled beneath the Xenomorph, eating away at the floor. A hole opened up beneath it, and the Xenomorph fell through, pulling Alice down along with it since it was still impaled upon her spikes. They dropped down to the next floor, their landing causing Alice’s damaged spikes to snap off since they were already mostly melted through, and the Xenomorph rolled away. It let out a snarl before leaping into the shadows and disappearing from sight.
Alice lay on the ground, twitching in pain. The floor continued to disintegrate around her, and she rolled to the side so she wouldn’t drop down to the next level. She was somewhat aware that there was a pause in battle as the Xenomorph retreated to lick its wounds, and she was glad for the reprieve, as it gave her the chance to heal and rest. She knew the alien would be back soon though, and silently willed her injuries to heal faster.
Static-filled voices spoke over the PA system, but it was nothing intelligible. Alice ignored it and forced herself to her feet as the last remnants her injuries healed. Physically, she may have been fine now, but she was tired and sore from the fight, and the phantom pain from her injuries still lingered, not to mention the trauma and strain her wounds had left behind. She didn’t have the luxury to rest and recover at her leisure though, knowing that if she was healed, then the Xenomorph definitely was as well, and was likely on the prowl once more.
Her eyes scanned the darkness, but the Xenomorph was a master of stealth and blending in with its surroundings. Within the shadows, it clung to the wall, coming up behind her and then pouncing. But Alice had been ready, anticipating its attack and acting the moment she detected its movement. As the Xenomorph came down on her, she let herself fall to the ground while doing a backward somersault and kicking out at it and knocking it away. The Xenomorph crashed into the wall and fell onto its head, and Alice hopped to her feet.
As the Xenomorph got back up, Alice spit out a barb. It struck the Xenomorph in its head, and it squealed. She spat out several more, and the Xenomorph shrieked with each impact. Over a dozen barbs were sticking out of it before its acid blood caused them to fall away. The Xenomorph then mimicked her, spitting out a barb of its own that struck Alice in the chest, then the Xenomorph’s inner jaws shot out, covering the distance between it and Alice in under a second.
Alice’s hand came up, catching the jaws, and they snapped at her mere inches from her face. When it realized it couldn’t reach her, the little jaws opened, revealing a small puckering hole behind its teeth. Alice just barely managed to move her head out of the way in time before it fired a barb at her. Alice then let out a cry of her own and yanked, pulling more of the extendable inner jaws out of the Xenomorph’s mouth until it reached its limit, and the Xenomorph was yanked off its feet.
It fell forward, and Alice kept pulling, dragging the Xenomorph across the floor. Then she began swinging it around, lifting the Xenomorph right off the ground. It crashed against the wall, a deliberate move on Alice’s part, as she continued spinning it around before yanking it to throw it over her shoulder and slamming it to the ground.
As the Xenomorph started to get to its feet, Alice gave its inner jaw trunk another yank, pulling it towards her. Placing her foot on top of its head, she tugged hard on its trunk, ripping it right out of the Xenomorph’s mouth. It screeched loudly and shook its head, sending a spray of drool and acid blood flying everywhere. Alice held up the length of the trunk of the Xenomorph’s inner jaws and let out a vicious cry down at the alien. The Xenomorph’s tail came up and stabbed at her, but Alice hopped to the side, avoiding the tail. She dropped the trunk and grabbed the tail before it was pulled back, and once again spun the Xenomorph around, this time by its tail, and threw it across the room.
Reaching up, Alice grabbed the barb that was still buried in her chest and ripped it out, crying out in the process. As the injury healed, she gripped the barb in her hand and leapt at the Xenomorph as it got back up. She landed on its back, holding on tightly as she began stabbing it repeatedly with its own barb. Since the barb was part of its anatomy and made of its own flesh, it didn’t dissolve from the Xenomorph’s acid blood, allowing her to keep stabbing, though her hand and arm did get some splashed on it, causing her to hiss in pain, but she kept stabbing.
Suddenly, Alice got the same treatment as the Xenomorph from earlier as the spikes on its back suddenly extended outward, impaling Alice. She cried out loudly, the barb falling from her hand as she hung by the spikes. The Xenomorph retracted them, and Alice collapsed to the ground, twitching in pain. The Xenomorph turned to her, snarling, then lunged forward and chomped down on her leg. Alice cried out as it began dragging her, and she kicked it in the head.
It took three kicks before it released her, then its tail came up and down to stab her. Her hands came up, and she caught the tail, narrowly avoiding getting stabbed in the face. The Xenomorph continued to try and push its tail downward as it crawled up her body. It hissed down at her, opening its mouth to reveal its new inner jaws, which were still in the process of regenerating.
Slobber poured down over her face and chest as it crouched over her. Alice realized it was waiting for its inner jaws to fully regenerate before striking and seized the moment. She braced herself as she knew she was going to be doused with more of its acid blood as her breast tentacles shot out, stabbing the Xenomorph in the chest. Acid did indeed come pouring out, and Alice’s cry of pain joined the Xenomorph’s.
The pressure of its tail trying to stab her lessened, and she released it with one hand that curled into a fist. She punched the Xenomorph in the side of the head repeatedly, knocking its head to the side with every blow. The Xenomorph backed off, ripping free of Alice’s breast tentacles, but dragged its claws down her chest and stomach in the process, ripping her open. Alice let out a gurgling cry as her blood flowed. She crawled backwards as the Xenomorph shook its head, then turned back to her.
Alice forced herself to get up, using the wall for support. The Xenomorph crouched down and sprang at her, but Alice leapt straight up, grabbing a portion of the acid melted ceiling, and the Xenomorph passed beneath her. She lifted up her legs, pressing them against the ceiling, and pulled. She tore off a long chunk of metal from the ceiling and dropped down before turning back to the Xenomorph, brandishing it as a weapon.
Letting out a snarl, the Xenomorph spat a stream of acid at her. Alice held up the slab of metal, blocking the stream, and the Xenomorph charged at her. She swung the fragment of metal, hitting the alien in the head. It went down, but immediately started to get up again. She struck it again, knocking it down once more. The Xenomorph hissed and began backing away in a crouched position. Alice advanced on it, and it spat a barb at her. She used the metal slab to knock it away, then lunged forward, swinging at it. The Xenomorph pulled back, but then rose to its full height. Alice lunged and swung again, this time hitting it. She struck it several more times before jumping up and stabbing downward with the metal slab, burying it deeply in the Xenomorph’s shoulder.
She was forced to relinquish her weapon as the Xenomorph pulled back, its acid blood already rendering it useless. It advanced on her, opening its mouth, and its fully regenerated inner jaws shot out. Alice ducked beneath them, and her hair-tentacles shot out. They wrapped around the Xenomorph’s face and squeezed, forcing its mouth to clamp down on the trunk of its inner jaws, affectively making it bite itself.
The Xenomorph gave a muffled cry and squirmed, trying to get its head free, but Alice kept her hair-tentacles coiled tightly around it. But then the two small bumps on its chest split open, and tentacles like Alice’s breast-tentacles shot out and stabbed her in the stomach and upper chest. Alice cried out and lashed out on reflex, her claws slashing and cutting through the Xenomorph’s tentacles. Acid blood sprayed from them, coating Alice in the burning substance as they retreated back into the Xenomorph’s chest.
The acid had also splashed over Alice’s hair-tentacles, and the Xenomorph clawed at them furiously, shredding them until it was able to tear free, and they dropped limply around its head, allowing it to open its mouth and suck up its inner jaws trunk. Alice took a few steps back, then holes in her torso already closing as her severed hair-tentacles started to grow back, and she snarled at the Xenomorph as it too took a few cautious steps back.
The two alien creatures continued to snarl and hiss at each other for a few more seconds as their injuries healed. Suddenly though, the Xenomorph began to change. It started growing larger at an alarming rate, its entire skeletal structure shifting and changing form as it dropped down to all fours. Its body elongated and became more bloated, its features becoming even more beastly, its arms and legs growing longer. Its lower jaws suddenly split in two as it roared, resembling a large set of mandibles, now exposing three rows of teeth that were even longer and sharper than before.
Watching on the monitors, dread filled the guts of those watching as they recognized the transformation for what it was.
“It has a battle form!?” Rogers exclaimed. “Why does it have a battle form? Only the males of Alice’s race have a battle form. Is it male? I thought that aside from the queens that these things were technically genderless.”
Cypher cocked his head to the side in interest. “Most curious. It must have inherited the form regardless. Quite fascinating, though quite worrisome.”
“Alice…” Scotts whispered, his eyes full of concern.
The Xenomorph roared again as it advanced on Alice. She backed away, but didn’t run, and instead tried to make herself seem as big as possible. This did not amount to much, as the Xenomorph in this form was now over twice her size.
It suddenly charged at her. Alice spat barbs at it, but the Xenomorph charged through them. It slammed into her, and Alice was knocked back. Its mouth opened as it roared, and a spray of acid flew out of its mouth as if from a sprinkler. Alice was doused and began wailing and thrashing around.
The Xenomorph stopped spraying, and instead lunged forward clamping its jaws down on Alice’s side, its three rows of fangs digging into her torso. It shook her around violently before tossing her to the side, and she hit the wall and fell to the ground. Her body continued to spasm as the Xenomorph stalked over and loomed over her.
It opened its mouth wide, its bottom jaws splitting in two, and its inner jaws slid out as it hissed. These had changed as well, nearly diving in two, but remaining attached. Rather than actual jaws, they now looked more like a bear trap, or perhaps a Venus flytrap was more accurate; its fangs certainly were long enough now to fit the resemblance. They opened nearly 180 degrees before shooting forward and chomping down on Alice’s right shoulder, its jaws going straight through the top and bottom of her arm. And when it retreated its jaws, it tore her entire arm off in the process.
Alice howled in pain, her remaining hand going to the bloody stump where her arm once was. It would grow back, but that didn’t make it any less painful. And as she writhed around in agony, the Xenomorph rose up onto its hind legs. Its tail came up, the tip even longer and deadlier, almost resembling the blade of a scythe. It came down, stabbing Alice through the gut, piercing the metal floor beneath her.
Slowly, it retracted its tail, lifting Alice up with it as it came down on all fours again. It brought her close to its face, hissing at her again, exposing its inner jaws. The humans and androids looked on as they realized it was going for another killing blow, and there was no telling how much more Alice could take.
“No…” Scotts whispered, shaking his head as he backed away from the monitors. “No… No, no, no, no.”
He darted away from the others, snatching the flame-thrower off the table. All heads turned to him as he rushed over to the door and pressed in the code to unlock it.
“What the hell are you doing!?” Rogers shouted at him.
“You’re going to get yourself killed!” cried Ramirez.
Scotts ignored them as he opened the door and rushed out.
“Get back here, you idiot!” Fritz called after him. “That’s an order!”
“Fuck off!” he hollered back.
No one went after him. Instead, they turned back to the monitors. They watched as in one last ditch effort, Alice lashed out at the Xenomorph. Her hair-tentacles came up, stabbing into both sides of the Xenomorph’s head. It let out a cry that sounded almost like an elephant, and struck back. Its inner jaws shot out, opened wide, and crunched down on her head. It bit straight through, leaving a massive bite that left her missing half her face from her nose to the top of her head.
Alice went limp, and with a flick of its tail, the Xenomorph flung her off its tail, and she bounced across the ground, bloody and broken. It roared loudly in apparent victory, then slowly turned and began to walk away. As it did, it shrank down and rose onto two legs once more as it changed back to its original form. It continued to walk away, but suddenly froze. It slowly turned back to Alice, then made its way over to her once more.
Alice laid motionless on the floor, but her regeneration was still active. Her acid burns and battle wounds had just finished healing, and the massive bite that had been taken out of her head was in the process of healing as well. Even her missing arm was regenerating, several inches of it having already grown back.
The Xenomorph crawled up over top of her, looking down into her face as it reformed. A few seconds after her head completely healed, her eyes snapped open. Almost on reflex, her remaining hand came up, seizing the Xenomorph by the throat. It snarled at her, and its two chest-tentacles shot out, stabbing into Alice’s upper body. She cried out and released it, but the Xenomorph showed her no mercy. Its tentacles buried their way through her body before bursting out her back.
From there, the tentacles began coiling around Alice’s face and neck, squeezing tighter and tighter. Alice’s eyes practically bulged out as her head was squeezed and her air supply was completely cut off. The Xenomorph opened its mouth and its inner jaws crept out and opened as well.
“Get away from her, you bastard!”
The Xenomorph turned as Scotts came running up to it. It hissed at him, but Scotts didn’t hesitate. Wary of Alice, he pointed the flame-thrower at it and fired. A stream of fire shot out of the end, flowing over the Xenomorph. It screeched as it went up in flames. Tearing its tentacles from Alice’s body, it leapt straight up to the ceiling, clinging to it with its claws. Covered in flames, it crawled through the hole in the ceiling and took off, its screeches becoming fainter and fainter as it ran off until they could no longer be heard.
Breathing heavily, and hardly able to believe that he had just done what he did, Scotts rushed over to Alice’s side, kneeling down beside her. His eyes ran up and down her body, looking for injuries. He could see the holes in her chest from where Xenomorph’s tentacles had pierced her, but they were already healing, as were the burned off ends of her hair-tentacles, and even her missing arm had already regenerated down to the elbow.
“Alice, Alice,” he called to her softly but loudly. “Can you hear me? Alice!”
Her eyes came up to him, and even in her alien form, he could see that they were glazed over. Much like she had done with the Xenomorph, she seemed to act on reflex, her hand coming up to grab a handful of his shirt. He hissed as her claws sliced into his skin when she grabbed him, and she pulled him close, snarling into his face.
Scotts felt a jolt of fear go through him as he realized how easy it would be for her to kill him, and she just might if he didn’t snap her out of this; she likely thought she was still in battle. “Alice, it’s me. It’s me. Look, It’s Tom. It’s ok, you’re safe. See, it’s me.”
Alice blinked a few times, and he saw awareness return to her eyes. Recognition filled her face, and she slowly released her grip on his shirt. Scotts breathed a sigh of relief as he saw her calm down, the fight leaving her body. A cooing sound escaped her, and then her features began to change as she shifted back to her human form.
“Tom…” she whispered softly.
The hand that had grabbed his shirt slowly came up to cup his cheek. Tom smiled down at her and reached up to grasp her hand in his. “Yes, it’s me. I’m here. You’re ok now.”
A small smile grazed her face as she looked up at him, as if this were the first time she had truly seen him. “I can finally touch you…”
A small laugh escaped Scotts that was mostly of relief. Alice’s smile grew wider, but then faltered. Her eyes fluttered for a few moments before drifting shut, and her head rolled to the side. Panic gripped Scotts as he felt her hand go limp in his.
“Alice? Alice!?”
She didn’t answer. Scotts reached out and felt for a pulse, finding one, though it was weak. He also saw that she was breathing steadily, and he let out a sigh of relief. She was alive, but it seemed as if the battle had been too much for her, and her injuries had finally caught up with her. She had likely fallen unconscious due to shock, and he knew there was actually a chance she had fallen into a coma, but at least she was alive.
“Dr. Scotts,” came the voice of Fritz, “get away from it right now.”
Scotts looked up to see the others making their way over to him and Alice. Dawn was in the back, the gun she had been given at the ready as she kept an eye out for the Xenomorph.
“She’s alive,” Scotts told them, “but she’s hurt. She just passed out.”
“I said get away from it,” Fritz repeated, already having gone back to referring to Alice as an ‘it’.
Scotts gave her a look of disbelief. “Didn’t you hear me? I said she’s hurt.”
“She’ll heal,” Fritz replied, nodding at Alice’s regenerating arm, which had now grown back up to her wrist.
“She’s still hurt,” Scotts insisted. “Even if she heals, she still feels pain. Just look at her. This happened because she was trying to help us.”
Fritz’s eyes narrowed. “She was merely acting in her best interest, nothing more.”
Ramirez glanced at her. “It still wouldn’t hurt to show some compassion.”
“Has she gotten to you as well?” Fritz demanded as she immediately rounded on her. “I thought you were smarter than this.
“She’s still a living thing,” Ramirez argued back. “And we haven’t been treating her like it. And that wasn’t right.” She looked down at Alice. “I’ve come to realize many things lately.”
“You are forgetting what it is though,” Fritz snapped, putting heavy emphasis on the word ‘it’ this time. “Even if she is a living thing, she is a threat to the entire planet. Her very kind was specifically engineered to replace ours.”
“That isn’t her fault,” Scotts retorted.
Fritz opened her mouth to respond, but Cypher held up his hand and stepped between them. “Might I suggest that we continue this conversation in a safer place. It’s highly likely that the specimen has fully recovered by now and is on its way back.”
Rogers nodded in agreement. “I’m with the robot.”
No one had any arguments with that, and as the last bits of Alice’s fingers grew back, Scotts scooped her up bridal style and lifted her into his arms. “Alright, let’s go. Jason, can you get the flame-thrower.
As Rogers bent down to retrieve the flame-thrower, Scotts made to carry Alice back to the monitoring room, but Fritz stepped into his path, holding out a had to stop him. “What do you think you’re doing?”
Scotts’ brow furrowed in confusion. “Taking her back to the room.”
“Put it down this instant. You know the rule, no contact with the subject.”
He gave her a look of disbelief. “You can’t be serious.”
“I’m very serious. I’ll not have Subject 4G2A rope you or anyone else any further into its web. We’ll have Dawn or Lana carry it back, at which point it will be returned to its room, and it will not be let out again.”
Behind her, Rogers let out a disbelieving laugh. “I don’t believe this. Don’t you think there are more important things to worry about.”
Fritz turned to him. “Too much has been compromised already. I won’t have any more. I am taking full charge of the situation, and I will see that every last detail is followed through.” She turned back to Scotts. “Now, put that thing down right now.”
But Scotts only held Alice closer. “Jesus, how can you be so unfeeling? Do you have any humanity, or are you intentionally being so cold? I’d say the androids and Alice have more humanity than you do.”
His words surprised everyone, especially since he had never spoken so out of line before, and they seemed to have had an affect on Fritz as well, who’s eyes widened in surprise. She got over it quickly though and glared at him. “It’s called Subject 4G2A.”
“Her name is Alice, you cold-hearted bitch,” Scotts snapped angrily.
The two stared each other down, neither budging, everyone else watching. Even the danger they were all in seemed to have been momentarily forgotten in light of the confrontation.
Finally, Fritz’s posture relaxed, her face growing hard as she held up her chin. “Your position is terminated. It’s obvious that the subject has lured you in and your judgement is compromised. Regardless of what happens from here on out, you’re out of a job. I’ll see to it that you never so much as get near a science beaker. You won’t even be able to teach seventh grade chemistry by the time I’m through with you.”
Scotts resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Odds were they weren’t even going to make it out of this alive anyway. But even if they did, Scotts found he couldn’t care much about her threat. She was likely talking out of anger and making false threats anyway, but even if she wasn’t and fully intended to blacklist him, all he cared about right now was Alice.
“I’ll keep that in mind,” he said dismissively. “Now get the hell out of my way.”
“I will not have you undermining my authority,” Fritz suddenly shouted, her eyes blazing with fury. “I am in charge here, and what I say goes-”
The words were barely out of her mouth before a shadow fell upon them. The Xenomorph had returned, fully healed from its burns, dropping down from the hole in the ceiling. Before any of them could even register its appearance, it reached down, grabbed Fritz on both sides of her head, and yanked her up. A scream tore its way out of her mouth as she was dragged up through the hole in the ceiling and disappeared. Her scream echoed down the halls, and then all was silent.
The others stood in shock at the suddenly arrival of the Xenomorph and the abduction of Fritz. They all stared open-mouthed at the hole in the ceiling in stunned disbelief at how fast it had happened.
After a few seconds of silence passed, Rogers finally broke it. “Fuck me!”
(A/N: Oh, man, that did not go well at all. Alice put up a good fight, but it seems the Xenomorph was too strong. And worse of all, it seems it has a battle form, just as Patrick Ross did in the second movie. So overpowering it is now out of the question. It looks like our team is just about out of options. And now it has taken Fritz as well. What other horrors await the survivors, stay tuned to find out. But before I close out, I'd just like to say I took some inspiration for this fight from a friend of mine who wrote a Death Battle for Xenomorphs vs Species. It's pretty well done, and you can check it out at the link below.)
