Hope is Found and Lost and Found AgainWhen Will
reached the Black Pearl, he saw that Anamaria, Elizabeth, and Mr. Gibbs were already
there.“Athena’s Jewel was seen near Crestview,”
he said.“Let’s go,”
said Elizabeth.**
It took
nearly a week to reach Crestview.“We might
actually find Jack,” said Elizabeth
to Will.“I sure hope
so,” he answered.“Excuse me,
miss, but have you seen a ship with red sails and black stripes dock here
lately?” asked Elizabeth
to a shabbily dressed young woman.She shook her
head no.**
“Have you
seen Chasity Sinclair?” Anamaria asked a fruit vendor.He shook his
head.“Have you
seen Jack Sparrow?” Gibbs asked a buxom strumpet.“No, I think
I would’ve remembered that,” she
said, flirtily.Anamaria pulled
Gibbs away from the woman.“We’re
supposed to be looking for our captain, not street walkers,” Anamaria said,
nearly slapping him.**
Will and
Elizabeth were soon losing hope of finding Jack.“It looks
like we’ve missed them again,” sighed Elizabeth.“It doesn’t
look like anyone’s seen them, either,” added Will.They went
back to the Black Pearl.**
