Ch. 7: The Children Over the summer my feelings for the children grew stronger. I took some of them down to room and “played” with them for a bit. To them the room was a secret cave and what we did was a secret. When winter came I didn’t bother them and nothing happened. I was worried about Khristen though. Something was going on that she wasn’t telling me, but I desperately wished she would. She didn’t really break her hand, just heavily bruised it. I noticed it wasn’t healing and I saw cuts on her hand. I noticed this in January and I talked with her. It took her awhile to talk but she finally told me she was having social trouble again at school. In order to let it out she started to do small things to herself. That got me upset because she was a beautiful girl and she didn’t need to do something like that. My worry made me very reluctant to go to my electric job, but I had to in order to support us and things. I was always pleased when I came home and one of her friends was over during the Christmas school break. Soon the break came and when and I was nervous when she went back to school. The idea of someone hurting my daughter angered me to no end. I would have loved to go up to those kids and slice them to pieces with the glove I had built. It took me awhile to build it, but I loved it because it gave me so much power when I put it on. I never showed it to Khristen. Then I knew she would run away from me if I did. Ever since this bully business she was distant to me when it came to my affection for her. At first I was angered by it, but I realized it was another thing that confirmed my suspicions about something wrong. When she did let me be with her, I had to be careful not to be rough with her. She was amazing with me and she still loved the whole idea of what we were doing. This would be just out secret. As things progress she could last longer with me and she always gave me control over her. That just turned me on even more. Things were starting to look up with spring coming. I returned to the preschool and my appetite for the children reappeared. Nancy was my favorite of all the children. She reminded me so much of Khristen. One time when I took her down to the room we painted the wall and she laughed because she was having so much fun. She was in that little pale blue dress and that was one of my favorite outfits she had. I used my glove sometimes, but never on Nancy. I wouldn’t cut her. They always wanted to play with me when I was out in the gardens. They loved it when I played hide and seek with them. They were all so innocent and fun. I could never keep away from them. Slowly I could sense their fear and now I had to be careful. I usually stayed away from them for a few days, but every once and awhile I would catch Nancy drawing. It made me think of my daughter. When I got home that day, Khristen was out with her friends. I went up to her room and took out one of sketch pads that she had managed to fill. As I looked through it some of the pictures seemed so sad. I gasped in shock when I look at one particular sketch. It was a sketch of my glove. It made me wonder how she had found it. I always made sure I put things away so that she wouldn’t see it. The only thing I could think of was that she had found it when I wasn’t in the room and she was. There was no way I could confront her about this so I put the sketch book away. I changed into the sweater she had given me and I put on my coat and when out the door. It was early spring and it was still cold out, but I needed to take a walk to figure out what to do next. It wasn’t long before I found myself alone. I needed to think badly about this. I was lost in my train of thought when I heard several cars come out from behind me and stop. “Kruger!” A man shouted at me. I looked at the parents totally confused. “What did you do to our children?” Another demanded. The parents knew about what I had been doing with them. The children had talked so I ran. Ok readers here is another chapter for you readers. I'm getting close to the end here along with the "PG-13" version of the story on fanfiction.com. Please Read and review. P.S. I do not own Freddy Kruger or anyone related to A Nightmare on Elm Street. They belong to Wes Craven.
