Chapter 6
The next day I wake up and get ready to sell. I realize that I don't have a selling partner so I agree to sell with Jack, that's it, sell and nothing else. I am waiting down in the lobby for him and soon he comes and then we leave for the D.O. I say nothing to him, unless he talks to me. I mean I actually don't really talk to him at all. Jack: So did you sleep well? Morgan: Yeah and you? Jack: Ok I guess. Morgan: So where should we sell Jack? Jack: I got just the place, we're meeting up with David and Les. I roll my eyes of course and Jack notices it. Jack: What? Morgan: Nothing. Jack and I walk in silence and meet up with David and Les who meet us at the D.O and we stand in line. The Delancey Brothers of course start pushing newsies and it's just really rude. I noticed that they had pushed Crutchy down. That's it. Morgan: Hey you two big apes, leave him alone. Oscar: What are you gonna do about it shrimp? Morgan: Anything I want, you big ape! Ok I know how to fight like a guy, but I know I can't take them both, but it's too late and they come up to me and I get into Oscar's face. Morgan: Remember me? Morris: How could we forget, ready for another round? Morgan: Oh two against me, why don't you fight like a man and it can be just you and me bats breath. Oscar: Bats what? Morgan: Oh sorry, yo momma didn't teach you slang. Morris: Slang what? Oscar comes in my face now, he bends down, I of course have a great shot to his balls and I'm about to do it when Jack steps in. Jack: Ok break it up, we gotta sell papes, not fight, Lit'l Bit you get back in line, you two leave the newsies alone or you won't know what hit you. I watch as the Delancey Brothers go into the back office. Jack: Are you trying to get hurt? Morgan: No, I don't need your help Jack. Jack: Let's just get our papes. Ok? I roll my eyes and stand in line, why does he have to do that? David and Les show up and of course they are at the end of the line. I'm happy about that. About 15 minutes later after scanning the headlines and following them to an area to sell. Ok so I'm selling my papes like wild fire and I can tell Jack's getting pissed off. Oh poor baby. I happen to know so many better headlines and I'm sold out before he is and I just sigh and look bored. Morgan: Can we go to Tibby's to eat after you're done? Jack: Sure. I look around and wait for another half hour and finally they are all done with their papes and we head to Tibby's. I take a booth and of course Jack slides in next to me and I scoot over so I'm like further from him. (Actually I wanted to put my hand on his leg and well.......we won't go there) We order and then wait for our food. David: So Lit'l Bit, how long have you've been in New York? Morgan: Not long, it's much different then where I'm from. David: So where are you from? Morgan: Chicago. David's eyebrow goes up. David: Hmm never heard of there, is it nice? Morgan: It's ok, but I'm glad to be here, selling papes. I notice Jack is silent and then looked at him. Morgan: What? Jack: Nothing. Les: Why so quiet Jack, it's not like you don't have anything to say. Morgan: Yeah Jack, why don't you jump in? Jack: I like listening to you talk. I look at him and I'm puzzled. Morgan: Why, it's not anything interesting. Les: I think it's interesting. David: You would, you're just a kid. Morgan: It's ok Les, ignore your brother. I give David one of those looks and then smile at Les. Morgan: Don't worry about it Les, it isn't that interesting where I come from. I watch as we get our food and I take a huge bite out of my sandwich, because I'm like starving and notice the looks on their faces. Morgan: What I'm starving. David: You're eating like you've never eaten before. Morgan: Feels like I haven't, but anyway this sandwich is great. I notice the others eating theirs and I just eat some of my sandwich and then eat some fries and when I finish my drink and sigh. Jack is almost done with his food and Les is a slow poke, but that's ok. I need to let my food settle before we leave for the L.H. I hope we can drop off David and Les soon. I can only take so much. About an hour later we drop off David and Les, I noticed that Sarah came to the door and smiled. She then pulled Jack into her arms and kissed him on the cheek, I studied Jack's face and there wasn't anything to determine anything, so I ignored it all together. He was still dating her I guess? No wonder he's the way he is. As we were walking back, it started to pour really heavy! Morgan: Damn it! Jack: Come on this way! Jack grabs my hand and pulls me to a building. Morgan: No. I try to pull out of his grip, but he's holding my hand too tight, now please remember my hands are like kid's hands and his are like huge, so he grips my hand tightly. The rain is coming down hard, very hard and we end up at Irving Hall drenched to the bone I am so mad at him. Morgan: Look I don't mind getting wet, but why did you drag me here? Jack: Well I know the owner and she's wonderful, she'll let us stay here until the storm passes, I happen to hate to be out in a storm. Morgan: Storm, there isn't no storm, it's just raining Jack. Jack: Well you know it's not safe out there if it's raining, lightening is dangerous. Morgan: I didn't see any of that. Jack: Still could happen, now come on we should go find Medda and get out of these wet clothes. Morgan: Ugh, ok. I follow Jack of course, I am gonna meet Medda herself, but I pretend it's no big deal, we finally locate her and she looks at me. Jack: Medda, this is Morgan, she's a newsie. Medda: Nice to meet you Morgan. Morgan: Nice to meet you too. Medda: Oh my you two are drenched, come, come I'll let you two get dried off and changed into something dry, Morgan I don't have anything, but dresses, sorry. Morgan: ok, I understand Medda takes us to this wonderful dressing room area, she finds me a dress, I really wanted to wear boy’s clothes. Why is she doing this to me? Medda: We'll hang these up to dry. I finish and look in the mirror, I'm wearing the dress, and it’s a beautiful dress, only I look disgusting in it. Ugh what the hell, god I look hideous. Morgan: Ugh. Medda: What is it darling, is it too tight? Morgan: Nothing wrong with the dress Medda, just that I look really, really I don't know. Medda: Well come out here and let me see. I step out and let her see. Medda: The color is perfect on you, blue is your color. I start to adjust it and Medda grabs my hands. Medda: Come on let's get that hair fixed. I am dragged to most awesome dressing room and sat in this chair and this lady comes and she looks at my hair. Lady: Look at this thick gorgeous hair, we shouldn't restrict it at all, we'll just towel dry it and put some of this crème I have and then we just let it air dry. Medda: Wonderful and Lydia, how about we brighten her face up a little bit? Lydia: Oh yes, a little makeup might do. Morgan: No, it's ok really. Medda: Please let Lydia do her work. I roll my eyes and sit there while I'm being made up, god I hate that. I was nice and let her do whatever she wanted I didn't even look in the mirror the whole time, I hate looking at myself ok? Lydia: Ok done, go on look at yourself. Morgan: No, it's ok I don't want to. I kept my eyes down until Lydia grabbed my face and made me look in the mirror. My eyes got wide then I frowned. Morgan: So big deal, I look like a clown now. Lydia: No you look beautiful, like a real woman. Morgan chuckled and then sighed. Morgan: If you think that. Medda came back and looked at me and smiled. Medda: I bet Jack would say the same thing Lydia said. Morgan: Jack, no way he's dating Sarah, I don't mess around with other girl's boyfriends. Medda: Sarah doesn't deserve Jack. Morgan: Oh yes he does, they are a perfect couple, even ask Jack. Jack: Ask me what? Morgan: I was just telling Medda that...what the hell are you looking at? Jack had his mouth open and his eyes were sizing me up and down. Morgan: Jack, stop that. Jack: Sorry, just I have never seen you look like that before. Morgan: Yeah well it wasn't my idea, now was it? I look at Medda and she's smiling. Medda: You two should watch the show on the balcony. Morgan: No way, I aint being with Jack alone. Jack: Me neither! Medda sighs and then gets an idea. Medda: Come on it's the best seats in the whole place. Morgan: Oh ok, but don't think I like it. We follow Medda and then we go into the balcony and sit down, I then look down and it's a nice view, not too far away, but you see I aint wearing my glasses so it's a little blurry without them and I got up and try the door. It won't budge. Morgan: Jack the door is locked. Jack gets up and tries the door also and it won't budge, then he smiles. Jack: Medda, when I get my hands on you....... He doesn't finish his sentence. Morgan: Oh come off it, you two plan this together, you think I like being with you, well I don't, I ain’t one to forgive and forget that easily Jack Kelly! Jack: I swear I have nothing to do with this. I roll my eyes and go back and sit down, I fold my arms across my chest and lean back in one of the chairs. I don't say anything at all, then the show starts and I pretend to watch it. I was too pissed off to actually watch it really. I looked over at jack who was still trying the door, he was cussing and swearing and I couldn't help it, I started to giggle. Jack stopped tugging at the door and looked at me. Jack: What's so funny? Morgan: You, it's locked and you're still trying to open it, you can't until someone opens it from the outside, so you may as well sit down and keep your strength. Jack: Damn. I then noticed something in a closed area that is closed with certain, it was a long couch and then I tried to shake the image of jack and I on the couch actually doing it. Blech. Jack: What's the matter? I look at him and of course try to prevent him from seeing the couch and the curtain. Morgan: Nothing. Jack: Oh you saw it too. Morgan: Saw what? Jack pulled me up and took me to the curtain area with the couch. Jack: This. Morgan: Did not, don't care and let go of me now! Jack: sure. Jack pulls me on to the couch and sits down next to me holding my hand. Morgan: Jack what the hell are you doing? Jack: Face it Morgan you like me, you just won't admit it. I look at him and then get an inch from his face. Morgan: I don't like you and even if I did, I don't go after other girl's boyfriends got that? I watch as Jack's eyebrow goes up and then he smiles. Jack: You don't? Morgan: Of course not, that's just plain wrong and dangerous. Jack looks at me and then chuckles. Jack: Oh I see what you're saying, well I like you, you're feisty and tough. Morgan: What the hell does that got to do with what we're talking about? Jack: Well what I'm trying to say is that I'm not dating Sarah anymore. I look at him and then roll my eyes. Morgan: So what, who cares, I don't care either way. Jack pulls me and then I feel this hand on the back of my head and I feel his lips press against mine, I feel myself as I'm laid down on the couch with Jack's body press against mine, I am fighting it of course, but then I give up and respond to the kiss, my eyes are closed. We're kissing for just a few minutes when he breaks the kiss and looks at me. Jack has this look on his face and then he smiles. I of course have a puzzled look on my face. Morgan: What, you like stealing kisses from a girl and just doing what the hell you want? Jack: Where did you learn to kiss like that? Morgan: I don't know, from a little bit of experience, why I'm I telling you anything? I look at Jack and he's still on top of me his body pressed against mine. Jack looks down at me. Jack: Well I've never really stolen a kiss from a girl before. I try to get up, but Jack won't budge. Morgan: Oh my god Jack, you're a virgin aren't you. Jack gets up and gets this look on his face, its pure embarrassment. Jack: I am not. Morgan: It's ok Jack, where I come from virgin boys are hard to find. I tease him now. Jack gets angry some more. Jack: Very funny. Morgan: Hey really it's ok, I have virgin boys for breakfast where I come from. I notice the look on Jack's face and I have to smile. Jack: You what? Morgan: Just kidding. Jack cracks a smile. Morgan: Gotcha to smile, now Jack I know it's none of my business, but why didn't you lose it to Sarah, the love of your life? Jack: That 'ol prude? Morgan: Prude? Jack: Yeah, I wanted us to lose it together, she refused. Morgan: So that's why you broke up with her? Jack: No, it was other things, but Morgan you're different, when you first came here and I saw you I thought I was weird, like why was I attracted to a guy and then when I found out you were a girl, I was so mad that you deceived me, I'm sorry I just didn't know why I was first attracted to you as a guy. Morgan: Well you know Jack all you had to do was talk to me. Jack: I know I'm sorry. Morgan: Well Jack you hurt me pretty bad, I have this thing called. "Hard to accept apology and compliments." Jack: Why? Morgan: Long story, don't want to tell you. Jack: Ok. I look at him and then notice something I never did before, why I like him in the first place in the movie, the Jack Kelly I love. Morgan: So since we're in here what do you want to do? {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Cliffhanger}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Sorry I usually don't do that, but this time I am.........what's going to happen? While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
