Su’tara waited until Ta’noj was asleep before she left
their quarters. Her parents were still out. She knew her thinking was
irrational, but she wanted to see Lo’kesh. Since her uncle would not allow her
to view the eta’s quarters she thought she would go on her own. Su’tara vaguely
remembered how to get to the food preparations area. She walked slowly as she
looked at everything around her. After taking the elevator all the way down and
going through several corridors she finally made it to one of the food
preparation areas. She watched one of the cooks from behind as he mumbled about
the meat not being well seasoned.
“It’s a damn delicacy to serve the meat properly
seasoned!” he roared at no one in particular. “How can I do my services if I do
not have the proper seasoning?”
“You cook at night?” Su’tara asked softly.
“Of course you idiot!” He barked, not turning around to look
at Su’tara. “How else will the spoiled ass warriors eat?” Su’tara gasped. Is
that what they think of us, she thought. Spoiled? “Back in my day,
before we returned from the hunt, we had to kill us some food to eat. No kill,
no eat!” The cook turned to see who he was talking to and dropped his knife. He
bent down on one knee and bowed his head. “Please forgive me. I am so sorry.”
“No, it’s ok,” Su’tara touched his shoulder. “Please get
up. I should not be down here. I was curious.”
He slowly got up, but he refused to look at her. He knew
who she was instantly. She was the first and only female he had ever seen that
was part human and part Yautja. He heard of her. Some said she was beautiful,
others thought she was hideous, but a really good fighter. Nonetheless, she was
respected, for her beauty, fighting skills and her lineage. “I thought you were
another eta,” he said, trying to explain his harsh tone. She stared at him
until the older Yautja looked up at her.
“Did you really have to kill your own food?” Su’tara asked
in amazement.
“Yes,” he nodded staring at her astonished golden eyes.
“I would like to hear of your battles someday if that is
ok,” Su’tara nodded to him.
“I would be honored,” he trilled. Su’tara nodded at him
before walking away. She suddenly stopped, realizing she didn’t know where she
was going.
“Where are the eta quarters?”
He looked at her. He wanted to ask why she would want to
visit such a place, especially dressed in her revealing attire. It wasn’t his
place so he told her where to go.
Su’tara wiped her brow as she went down the winding
staircase. The lights flickered and her heart started to race. The sounds were
quite intimidating to her. Upstairs all you could hear were your footsteps.
Down here she could hear everything else, including her heart beating. She
could hear loud footsteps coming near her. I fear no one, she told
herself as she stood up straighter. A female looked at her before bowing.
“Hello,” she greeted her.
“Hello,” Su’tara walked closer to her. The female looked
up and at her outfit carefully before emitting a soft trill. “I made that.”
“Did you?” Su’tara chuckled. “It feels great and fits me
perfectly. Thank you.”
“You are quite welcome,” she looked into Su’tara eyes.
Finally, someone who will actually look at me. “What
is your name?”
“I’m Lee’na,” she shook Su’tara’s shoulder softly.
Su’tara looked at her carefully. “Is there more than one
eta named Lee’na?” Lee’na shook her head no. “I’ve heard my parents discussing
you. You are very pretty.”
“Thank you,” she smiled. “So are you Su’tara.”
“You were mated to my uncle Ne’el?”
“Long ago, yes,” Lee’na said with a hint of sadness in her
tone. She looked back at Su’tara. “I remember meeting you for the first time on
the planet. Your grandmother Nam’rah was watching you. It was my first time
meeting her.”
“Did you really try to kill Uncle’s other mate?” Su’tara
blurted.
“Out of jealously, yes,” Lee’na admitted. “That was over
twenty years ago. My sentence as an eta was supposed to be for one year, but…”
her voice trailed off as if she was remembering everything that happened. She
looked at Su’tara. “What are you doing down here?”
“I’m looking for an eta named Lo’kesh.”
Lee’na looked at her carefully until Su’tara started to
blush. “Come, I will show you to his quarters,” Lee’na chuckled. “The desire to
mate has no hierarchy.”
“No I don’t wish to mate with him,” Su’tara tried to
defend herself. “He is a potential friend.”
Lee’na shook her head in disbelief. As they walked slowly,
Lee’na told her how she severed ties to her family so her father could keep his
name as an honored warrior.
“So are you still a jealous female?” Su’tara questioned.
“That was years ago,” she shook her head no. “I’ve learned
to control my emotions.” Lee’na finally stopped in front of Lo’kesh’s door.
Su’tara touched her shoulder. “My uncle is leaving in a
few days and I promise you things will change.” Lee’na gave her a skeptical
look.
“You are young Su’tara and full of hope,” Lee’na sighed.
“I too was like that once.”
“You will be again,” Su’tara trilled softly. Lee’na shook
her shoulder before walking away. Su’tara held her breath before pushing the
com button.
Lo’kesh was still in his uniform. He just stepped in
moments ago. He watched the scene along with a few other eta’s. It surprised
him how Su’tara’s mother acted just like any other Yautja when it came to
mating. He growled in annoyance as the com continued to buzz. “Answer it
Zi’ren!” He walked slowly into the bathroom to take a long shower.
“Damn it!” his older roommate growled as he went to the
door. When the door opened he growled at Su’tara. He knew who she was and
didn’t care for her or her family. She looked back in complete shock. “What do
you want?”
Su’tara looked at the angry man. She thought for a moment
that maybe she had the wrong room. “Is this the quarters of Lo’kesh?” she tried
to look past him but he blocked her path as he stared at her. Su’tara stared
back at him.
“What do you want with Lo’kesh?” he growled.
“Are you his father?” Su’tara looked at the Yautja
carefully. He looked old enough, but she didn’t know how old Lo’kesh was.
He stepped aside, allowing her to enter their quarters. “I
am not his father, I’m his roommate.” When the doors closed Su’tara turned
around to look at him. “Lo’kesh’s parents are dead. Follow me.” He walked her
to Lo’kesh’s room. Su’tara looked around as she surveyed her surroundings.
There was no color like her quarters. The hall was so small, she had to walk
behind the Yautja that failed to introduce himself. Everything was a dark grey
color. To her, it was actually quite depressing. “You can wait for him in
here.” When she turned around to thank him, he was gone and the doors closed.
Su’tara walked over to the small window. She looked around the undersized room,
trying to find a piece of cloth to wipe the dirty windows. She ripped a piece
of bedding and wiped the dirt away.
When Lo’kesh walked out the bathroom Zi’ren grunted at
him, “Throw me the towel. Ekal forgot to get supplies again.” Lo’kesh removed
the towel from his bottom, throwing it at Zi’ren.
“I thought you already showered?”
“Uh, no,” he chuckled.
Su’tara sat on the hard bed that was only big enough for
two. Looking around the room you couldn’t tell anyone lived in it. There was no
personal belongings’ lying around. When the doors opened Su’tara smiled but
suddenly looked at Lo’kesh in shock. The fire in his eyes isn’t what she
noticed.
“Su’tara,” he snapped out of confusion and anger. He
walked in and went to the dresser for his clothing. Su’tara made a low audible
grunt noise. He was just as attractive from behind as he was from the front. He
turned and looked at her. “Stop looking at me.”
Su’tara suddenly realized she was staring at him and
covered her eyes, “Oh I’m sorry I didn’t mean too,” she stammered. After a
moment she slowly removed her hands from her face. He was looking at her with
his arms crossed. He wrapped a cloth around himself but didn’t have a shirt on.
Lo’kesh could tell she was completely embarrassed. He
could feel the extra heat from her body. He thought in his head to kill Zi’ren
later. “What are you doing here? How did you find me?”
Su’tara didn’t know what to say. She was still in shock
from looking at him. She acted nonchalant around her family when it came to
males and females mating, but the truth was, she didn’t have a clue about what
goes on. And it was her first time seeing a male nude. “I’m sorry,” Su’tara
stood up. “I should go.” She walked over to the door but he grabbed her small
waist and pushed her against the wall. His chest touched hers as he attempted
to stifle his groan. He could feel her body tremble as he looked down at her.
Lo’kesh inhaled her scent. Her scent was growing stronger.
He thought about mating with females in the past, but now he wanted her. His
throaty growl caressed her ear, “What did you want?”
“I,” Su’tara was never a lost for words. If weren’t for
his hand on her waist she would have fell by now. He gripped her tighter. “I
have never seen…” Her body trembled as she looked away from his eyes and to his
chest. He had several battle scars across his chest that she slowly traced with
her fingertips. She could feel his hardness on her leg. Lo’kesh stepped back as
they both looked down. Su’tara slowly removed his cloth.
“Su’tara, please,” he growled in warning. He was always
able to control his urges, but Su’tara pushed him to a point where he had never
been before. He moaned as her hands came in contact with him.
“It’s so big,” she gasped. She looked up at him
innocently. “Are all males this big? Do they all smell like you when they are
aroused?” Su’tara could smell him and it made her spread her legs a bit so he
could get closer to her. She gave him a squeeze and he groaned before answering
her.
“Your mother never taught you any of this?” he questioned.
Su’tara shook her head no. Lo’kesh hesitated a moment before feeling on her
face. He touched her every night in his dreams. It was nothing compared to how
she truly felt. The sensation of her stroking him was too much. He couldn’t
imagine what he would do to her if she didn’t stop. He quickly moved away from
her and wrapped his cloth back around himself. Lo’kesh turned away as he tried
to regain his composure.
“Su’tara you really shouldn’t have come down here. I’m
sure your family will disapprove,” Lo’kesh didn’t turn around as he spoke. “But
maybe I should tell you how I feel. How I felt since the day I looked at you.”
When he turned around she was gone. He rushed out of his room to see Zi’ren
sitting with a smirk on his face. “What you did was wrong,” he growled. “Where
is she?”
“She just ran out of here,” he chuckled. “And she didn’t
bother to wish me good night!” He laughed as Lo’kesh grabbed a cloak and ran
after her.
“I feel weak,” Kayla giggled after Sh’lok came again deep
inside her. Kayla sighed and held onto his neck as her body trembled. Sh’lok
let out a long groan as he slowly caressed her back. He allowed Kayla to ride
them to two orgasms. Kul’vir watched as Kayla breast shook with her hard
thrusting against Sh’lok. Her scent and her screams made Kul’vir come once
inside Stef’na, but he remained erect. He grunted as he attempted to have
another orgasm with Stef’na.
Sh’lok lifted Kayla up as he covered her body. He pushed
his cloth down and wrapped both arms around Kayla. “Let me carry you,” he
purred softly in her ear.
“So you’re giving up?” Kul’vir grunted as Sh’lok walked
past him.
He turned back around and chuckled to Kul’vir, “It’s not
about how long you last but, rather or not you are doing the task correctly.”
He looked down at Stef’na and she looked like she was in pain. Sh’lok looked
back at Kul’vir whom was staring at him and laughed. “Goodnight my friend.”
Listening to Kayla giggle caused a chill to go through Kul’vir as he continued
to pound Stef’na. When the doors closed Stef’na looked at him.
“Enough,” she
yelled. “Kul’vir, get off me!” She managed to kick him away and covered her
bruised sex. “What were you trying to prove by abusing my body?”
“My apologies Stef’na,” Kul’vir groveled. Stef’na refused
to look at him as she left him standing alone in the hall.
Sh’lok purred on Kayla’s neck all the way to their
quarters. When the doors slid open she was surprised to not hear the sounds of
her two young ones playing. “You think we made him angry?” Kayla questioned as
she looked at Sh’lok.
“Of course,” Sh’lok chuckled. “Now ask me if I care.”
“They’re too quiet,” Kayla laughed as Sh’lok let her down.
“I’m going to go check on them.”
Sh’lok went into the bedroom as he thought of his friend’s
ill behavior towards him. The last time he acted this irrational was before
their fight. They were older and wiser now. He was fearful of fighting Kul’vir
again. He didn’t want to accidentally kill him.
“Su’tara is not here,” Kayla said in a frantic. “She
hadn’t slept in her bed. She’s missing.”
Sh’lok walked over to Kayla as he tried to calm her down.
“She’s on the ship Kayla,” he purred. “Don’t worry. I will go find her.” Kayla
looked at him and shook her head. He tugged one of her locks before walking out
of their room. When he walked out of their quarters the elevator down the hall
opened. Sh’lok tilted his head as he stared at them.
Lo’kesh ran down the corridor looking for Su’tara. She
stood by the elevator frantically pressing the button. “It’s out of order,” he
said softly. Su’tara turned to look at Lo’kesh. She felt completely embarrassed
by her actions. She didn’t know he felt the same way. He walked up to her and
wrapped his cloak around her body.
“My body temperature is fine,” she spoke without looking
at him.
“You are showing entirely too much of your body to me,” he
admitted.
“Sorry,” Su’tara felt his hands still on her shoulders,
but she still refused to look at him.
“I need some sort of surprise on the day of our ritual,”
he tried to get her to laugh. He watched a smirk form on her face.
“Don’t flatter yourself.”
“You can look at me you know,” he teased. “I do not bite.”
Su’tara laughed as she looked up at him. “Something wrong
with your teeth?” she teased in return.
Lo’kesh felt on her face again. “Let me walk you to your
quarters Su’tara.” She nodded her head and followed him up the stairs to the
nearest elevator.
Su’tara smiled as she thought about his teasing. He stood
on one side of the elevator and her on the other. “What is so funny?”
“I just feel a little foolish,” she admitted. “I apologize
for…” she paused for a moment. “Feeling on you?”
“It is not like I did not enjoy it,” he shrugged. Lo’kesh
thought for a moment. “Su’tara I am an eta and you are the leader’s daughter.”
Su’tara noticed the confused look on his face. “Though you are very beautiful
and under different circumstances… I can be sentenced to death for even looking
at you.”
“But, I like the way you look at me,” Su’tara pouted.
“How old are you?”
“I just turned twenty-six,” Su’tara nodded.
“You are still a pup,” he huffed. Su’tara looked at him
angrily before walking in front of him. She slowly opened the cloak he wrapped
around her body. He looked down at her tempting body. His hands remained on
each side of the railing.
“Do I look like a pup to you?” Su’tara questioned as the
cloak dropped to the floor. He growled at her before looking away. Su’tara felt
on his chest before sniffing on him. “Do I smell like a pup to you?” Lo’kesh
didn’t answer her. Instead he looked at the buttons on the elevator, wishing
the damn thing was faster. Su’tara grabbed his hand and placed it on one of her
breasts. Lo’kesh suddenly looked down at her. “Do I feel like a pup to you?”
Lo’kesh growled and
lifted her up, pushing her body against the wall. He pressed his body against hers
and ran his clawed hand against her exposed skin as he purred deeply. Su’tara
stared at him, her eyes wide. She gasped and jumped when the only thing between
his large hand and her sex was the thin silk material. “No to all your
questions,” he growled in her ear. He looked at her again. “But are you naive
about what you want? Yes. Are you still a pup when it comes to adult behavior?
Yes. Do you act young and reckless when it comes to your safety? Yes.” He
squeezed on her butt making her gasp. “You are not ready.” Lo’kesh put her down
and grabbed his cloak off of the floor. “Put it back on.”
“No,” Su’tara said angrily. The elevator doors opened and
she started to walk off, but he grabbed her wrist, making her turn around. He
put the cloak on her despite her protest. Neither one saw Sh’lok watching them.
Neither Lo’kesh nor Su’tara could react on time when
Sh’lok ran towards Lo’kesh and slammed his body against the wall. He held him
against the wall with one hand. “What are you doing with my daughter?” he
snarled.
“Father,” Su’tara cried. “Put him down. He was protecting
me.” Lo’kesh couldn’t talk. Sh’lok’s grip was getting tighter. He looked at the
cloak Su’tara had on then back at Lo’kesh.
“Are you an eta?” he questioned in disbelief.
“I went to the bottom of the ship alone,” Su’tara
admitted. Sh’lok suddenly let Lo’kesh drop to the floor as he stared at his
daughter.
“You what!” he roared at her.
“Lo’kesh made me put on a cloak,” Su’tara backed away from
her angry father. “Because he thought I was dressed inappropriately.”
Lo’kesh stood up, not looking at Sh’lok or Su’tara. “I
humbly beg you to spare my life,” Lo’kesh said softly.
Sh’lok turned and looked at him. “You’re the boy who
cleans around this hall everyday,” Sh’lok growled. “Were you after my daughter?”
“No.”
Sh’lok slowly took out one of his knives. “Do you beg for
your life out of fear?”
“No, leader Sh’lok.”
“Look at me boy!” Sh’lok roared at him. Lo’kesh looked up
at the angry Yautja. Sh’lok held his blade ready to kill him. “Were you taught
to beg?”
“Yes,” Lo’kesh answered. His previous owners loved to hear
eta’s grovel and he had seen what happened to some that didn’t. It came
naturally to him.
Sh’lok admired his honesty and bravery. Any other eta
would never look at him in the face no matter how much you tell them too. He
noticed Lo’kesh’s pulse never changed. He showed no fear, yet he spoke the
words. He looked at Su’tara and snatched the cloak from her body. He turned
back around to Lo’kesh. “Thank you,” he nodded before throwing the cloak at
him. Lo’kesh nodded in return and left without looking at Su’tara. He escaped
death and didn’t want to risk making Sh’lok even angrier.
He looked down at Su’tara. “Confinement to your room for a
week.”
“Father,” Su’tara was about to protest.
“Two weeks,” he growled. “And if you say another word to
me I will make it three. If you growl, grunt, snarl or huff it will be four.”
Su’tara looked away as she walked inside their quarters.
Sh’lok held Kayla later that night and told her everything
that happened and what he thought of Lo’kesh.
“You think Su’tara likes him?” Kayla questioned. “An eta?”
“Honestly Kayla I don’t think he should be an eta,” Sh’lok
sighed. He laid on his back and Kayla placed her head on his chest. “It was
actually amusing. As the elevator doors opened for a moment I thought it was
another couple just fussing at each other. He made her put the cloak on.” He
trilled softly. “I had never seen anyone talk to her like that.” Sh’lok reached
for his tablet.
“Sh’lok, it’s late,” Kayla yawned. “We had a long night.
Just rest.”
“I want to know more about him,” he mumbled as he tapped
in Lo’kesh’s name. “He was traded from another ship on the planet. His parents
are dead and he’s been an eta all his life. That’s it. Kayla, he never had a
chance to become a warrior.”
“Well, if it’s someone Su’tara is interested in, then give
him a chance,” Kayla shrugged her shoulders. “Did she say why she went down
there?”
“No, but I think it was to see him.” Sh’lok put his tablet
back on the table before pulling Kayla closer to his body. Per Sh’lok’s
request, Kayla didn’t bother Su’tara for a week.
Su’tara looked at her mother when the doors opened. “Is
father still mad?” she spoke softly.
“He is worried about you Su’tara,” Kayla sat next to her.
“So am I. Why would you go down to the bottom of the ship alone? To the eta
quarters?”
Su’tara shrugged her shoulders. “I kind of like him,”
Su’tara tried to hide her smile as her mother shook her head in disbelief.
“There are so many great Yautja’s on board this ship that
are smitten with you already,” Kayla pushed Su’tara’s hair off her shoulders
before rubbing her back. “Do any of them appeal to you?”
“Not like Lo’kesh,” Su’tara looked at her. “Mom, he has
this presence about him. Like one moment he is completely innocent around me,
like the world is new to him. The next moment he’s brushing me off like I’m
some sort of annoying child, but a week ago I noticed something else. He’s
attracted to me. Not because he seen me fight, because he took the time to get
to know me.”
“Time? When did he take time to know you?” Kayla stood up
and walked towards the windows.
“Ok maybe he didn’t,” Su’tara sighed. “But we talked for
almost five minutes everyday for weeks.”
“He’s an eta,” Kayla reminded her.
“He’s my friend,” Su’tara defended. “There’s no hierarchy
when it comes to friendship.” She smiled as she thought about Lee’na. “I spoke
to Lee’na when I was down there.”
“Lee’na?” Kayla frowned. “Ne’el’s former mate?”
“Yes, and she’s beautiful mom,” Su’tara smiled. “If you
were a Yautja, I think you would look like her. She reminds me of you for the
short time we spoken.”
Su’tara told her everything that happened, including the
old Yautja in the kitchen. “Well you had a little adventure didn’t you?” Kayla
laughed. “I will talk to your father about ending your confinement, but don’t
do it anymore.”
“When can I see Lo’kesh?”
Kayla turned to look at her. “You can’t. He’s an eta.
Nothing is to become of it.” After locking the doors, Kayla went to see
Stef’na. For a moment Kayla felt like a hypocrite. Their ship had been attacked
on several occasions because of her presence. If she tried to explain to
Su’tara that her decision was from a mothers’ standpoint she wouldn’t
understand. It was bad enough her daughter had to deal with a few males that
refused to accept her, but to deal with everyone who would shun her for mating
with an eta would be worse.
