Disclaimer: I do not own The Phantom of the Opera movie(s), nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
Disclaimer: This story is based on the movie
"Phantom of the Opera," which was released in December of 2004. A lot
of ladies, including myself, didn't care too much for the unhappy ending. I've
decided to continue the story so the Phantom (Erik), can finally find true love
and live happily ever after. He deserves it. The "The Phantom of the
Opera" and the character of Erik are based on the story by Gaston Leroux.
The song lyrics belong to Andrew Lloyd Webber. The character of
"Victoria" belongs to me. The story will be mostly rated PG-13, with
some rated R content. Please review my story if possible. Any comments
would be greatly appreciated.
Hellena Angelique: I'm glad you like my
story. Here is my next update. It took me a little longer to write this chapter
since I was sick for a couple of days. I had to take a break.
(The Talk)
I sat back on the bed huddled under the covers, while
cautiously watching my jailer walk away and head toward the mysterious lake. My
eyes followed him until he was out of sight. Only then was I able to relax.
My mind began to race. I couldn’t even comprehend as to
how bizarre this whole situation was turning into. Being in a cave was the least
of my worries. I was stuck here alongside a raging lunatic who wished to kill me
in one moment, then kissed me the next. He must be out of his mind.
Then something occurred to me. He called me Mademoiselle,
which was French. But, that still didn’t solve anything. He could just be a
mad Frenchman living in New York. His clothing though, was something different
altogether since it was not of this time period. And the dresses in the bureau
were out of place as well. I had to get some answers, but he was the only one
available to give them to me. I chilled at the thought.
Slowly, I got up from the bed, pulling the sheet along with
me. I needed to talk to him, but I wasn’t going to do it in this state of
undress. Quietly, as to not disturb him, I headed for the other bedroom. Once
inside, I went to the bureau to pick out a dress. A beautiful dark blue silk had
caught my eye. Gently, I took it off its hanger and placed it on the bed behind
me. Now, I had to find some sort of undergarments, since I had no idea what had
happened to mine.
The bureau contained a couple of drawers, so I pulled the
top one open. Inside were a dozen expensive silk stockings in all sorts of
different colors. I picked out a pair to match the dress and continued looking.
The second drawer contained chemises and corsets. My hands froze as I starred at
them open mouthed. These types of clothing were worn over a hundred years ago.
“This couldn’t just be a coincidence… could it?”
Shakily, I grabbed the chemise, but decided against wearing
a corset. I wouldn’t even begin to know on how to put on one of those
contraptions. I dressed as quickly as I could since the door was still hanging
wide open. Next, I headed for the little vanity, which was standing against the
opposite wall of the room. I sat down while grabbing the brush, and spent the
next few moments undoing the wild tangles in my hair. By the time I was done, my
hair was shining once again and falling in gentle curls at my waist.
Little nervous butterflies were forming in my stomach as I
got up to head into the cavern to confront the stranger that resided there. I
needed to stay calm so I wouldn’t anger him once again.
He stood there at the edge of the lake deep in thought. I
started to hesitate, not wanting to intrude on his privacy, but, then he turned
and saw me approach. A flash of complete astonishment crossed over his features,
but quickly disappeared. He just stood there and starred at me as I walked up to
him. He seemed calm and not angry anymore, which gave me the courage to
continue. I stood before him and looked up into his golden-green eyes and spoke.
“I think I’m ready for you’re questioning,” I said
quietly. “Is there somewhere we could sit and talk?”
A complete look of surprise came into his eyes. They
narrowed just a little, as if not trusting me completely.
“We can sit over there,” he said calmly while pointing
in the direction of two chairs, which were situated around a small table. It
must have been his version of a dining room.
I nodded that I understood, and headed for the chairs,
while he followed closely behind. My butterflies were getting worse by the
minute.
We sat down and just looked at each other for endless
minutes. He was incredibly handsome, but that was beside the point. His mask on
the other hand, had me intrigued. He always had it on. I wondered what lay
beneath. He shifted a little in his chair as he noticed my inspection of his
face, and seemed a little uncomfortable that I was doing so. My eyes finally
shifted to his once more and I managed to speak the first words.
“Before we begin,” I managed to say, “I would like to
ask you your name. I’m Victoria.”
“Erik,” he said without emotion. “Now I think it’s
my turn to be asking the questions.”
His face turned cold once again as he began. “How did you
get into my home?”
I knew from the way he was looking at me that he expected a
straight and honest answer. The only problem was… I had no answer to give
him… none that he would believe. He noticed that I started to hesitate once
again, and moved in his chair as if he was ready to get up and confront me once
again.
“Please,” I said a little shakily “I’ll try my best
to explain.” I took a deep breath and continued. “The truth of the matter
is, I have no idea how I got into your home.”
I quickly looked down at my hands which were folded in my
lap and told him the story of what happened. When I finished, I slowly glimpsed
up at him and saw his very dark and brooding features. I knew I was in trouble.
He didn’t believe a word I said.
Erik got up with a jerk, toppling the chair over behind
him. The chair hit the stone floor with a resounding crash, causing me to nearly
jump out of my skin. I went absolutely rigid with fear as he approached me in
one angry stride. He stood next to me and grabbed both of my arms in a painful
grasp and yanked me out of the chair until I was facing him a mere few inches
away. I howled in pain as his fingers dug deeper into my arms, bruising me to
the bone. In an instant he shoved me backwards, and I hit the ground with a
thud. I landed on my backside completely paralyzed.
“Get out of my sight!” He roared.
As quickly as my weak legs could muster, I got up from the
floor and ran to my room. I collapsed on the bed and cried uncontrollably.
---------
Erik stood there barely able to control his anger as she
ran into her room. The sounds of her heart wrenching sobs were heard throughout
the open space of the cavern. Erik closed his eyes to her onslaught, and his
shoulders slumped in defeat.
He wasn’t going to get a straight answer from her no
matter how hard he tried. Maybe in time, she will trust him enough to tell him
the truth. She was his prisoner anyway, so his life was not in any kind of
danger at the moment. He just had to make sure she stayed by his side until the
situation was resolved.
He straightened himself out and headed for his small
kitchen. He knew she must have been hungry since they both haven’t eaten a
bite of food since their encounter this morning. He grabbed two plates and
arranged some bread, cheese, and fruit on each. He then poured two glasses of
wine and sat them next to the plates. He grabbed her portions and headed for the
bedroom she was residing in.
Her sobbing had subsided and she was lying on the bed her
face buried in the pillow. Quietly he entered the room and headed for the small
vanity. He put the plate and wine down and turned to face her on the bed.
He cleared his throat and softly spoke to her. “I’m
sorry if I hurt you,” he managed to say. “I brought you some food and
something to drink. I know you must be hungry.”
With that he turned around and left the room.
