A/N: I just wanted to clarify a single point in this, Wes Craven has said many many MANY times that he wanted Freddy to be a pedophile but chose to take that little bit out of the movies to show respect to a lot of families that were going through that at the time…. So this is based off the original movie where he wasn’t a child rapist rather then the original concept or the modern Freddy where he is and that is a key point in the story. Sorry I felt I had to clear that up for you guys… On with the story!!

Over the next two days Jenny bounced in and out of the dream world only a few hours at a time, Freddy spent the free time wondering around the house and making it look more like the one Jenny would be moving into. Normally he wouldn’t bother, because as far as he was concerned it was a pointless waist of power. However Jenny would be seeing the real thing and although he didn’t think that she would mind or notice the differences, it mattered to him. Now if he could just figure out why it mattered. When he was done he went and sat down on the couch and watched Jenny load the car with the last box of her stuff, then she walked back in and looked around. She made her way back through the house to her room, she stood their looking around at the stuffed animals she was leaving behind she walked over and gently picked up the first one Kevin had given her. She looked at the bunny with its beady little eyes and remembered what it signified, suddenly her mom came in behind her.
"Oh honey are you sure you don’t want to take at least one?" Her mom asked laying a hand on her shoulder lovingly. Her mom still had no idea what kind of man Kevin had been, even after all these years. Freddy had been the one to heal Jenny's scars and he was the only one that she truly trusted, but Jenny had to admit that after Freddy was done with her mom things did improve.
"No, these things were made to comfort children and I think I'd like to give them a fair chance to do that." Jenny said, after all it wasn’t the bunnies fault that Kevin was a pedophile. She sighed to herself with satisfaction, at least Freddy has his soul now and could make him suffer.
"I'll wait in the car." Her mom said patting her shoulder, Susan had tried to make for the time she spent strung out but never could quite do it. Jenny sighed, maybe this new start was what they needed she looked down at the beady eyes and let the memories come back. She looked around the room at all the things that held nothing but bad memories. She walked over and placed the bunny on the bed, and made it look like it watching the door waiting for some one to walk in.
"You've seen enough abuse, you keep the next girl safe." Jenny whispered and walked out of the room. Susan started the car when Jenny stepped out locked the door and placed the house key in the key box.
Once in the car and buckled up her mom smiled at her then pulled out of the driveway. The radio was on so there was no need to talk Jenny laid her head back and just relaxed for the first time in years she felt free, like the oppressive weight had been lifted off her. It wasn’t long before she was asleep.

She often wondered how Freddy passed so much time yet appeared to produce nothing for his never ending work. When seconds passed as hours what did he really do with hours upon hours when his victims where awake. She walked through the house making her way to him, she had seen this house before but it had always been night time. Now the sun was shining out side, the house look clean and bright, homey even. She took time to look around before making her way down to the basement, she started to go to his work room but noticed the door to the back yard was open and made her way to the sun lit yard. She saw some one laying the hammock just relaxing, she didn’t know who it was. He had on blue button up shirt, he wore no hat and had curly hair.
"Who are you?" She asked walking over but careful to stay out of arms reach. He opened out a pack of smokes and pulled out a cigarette which a slight chuckle and took a drag before he opened his eyes.
"That kind of hurts." He said, Jenny let out a squeal and quickly jumped on to the hammock with him snuggling close. She had never seen his human face before but she knew him and after the initial shock of seeing a new form she was perfectly happy. He draped an arm over her and just laid there enjoying the peace, no one was really asleep right now since it was the middle of the day and she had been running herself ragged trying to get everything ready in as little time as possible. He started humming some tune yet wasn't really aware that he was, until Jenny started singing the words to it quietly.
"Although you know that it's wrong to be, alone with me, that come on look is in your eyes…" She stopped singing only because he stopped humming, "I'm sorry."
"Its not your fault." He said, he never said much but she'd come to be able to read his body language more then his actual words. He offered her the last few drags of the cigarette which she took without a word. It disappeared when she was done with it, she sighed and wrapped her arms around him. They had no idea how long they laid there as the sun began to sink down in the sky.
"Mom's calling me for dinner." Jenny said, she was slowly fading but still fighting to stay in the dream world with him.
"Go eat honey." He said, she nodded and was gone. He sighed and laid there a while longer, he already missed her body next to his. He didn’t expect them to be in close enough to SpringWood for any to bother with drugging the food but it was a possibility. He was worried about her, he kept thinking what if something happened while she was away from him. He got up and walked into the living room, the t.v. clicked on as he entered the room. He made up his mind that he would just have to start staying wither her more, yes it would put him in more danger but he was willing to take that risk if it meant protecting Jenny.

Five days and over eighteen hundred miles latter Jenny finally saw the turn for SpringWood, it was a mini celebration that pumped them up to make it the last forty five miles. There wasn’t any official sign for the little town but thanks to the fact that Freddy was with Jenny he was able to tell her where to go.
"You’re the navigator." Susan said as she turned down the old road that Jenny told her to.
"Yes I am." Jenny said laughing, she couldn’t wait to see her new home for real. Not that Freddy's world wasn’t real but it would be nice not to have to leave a place that made her feel so safe when she woke up. The road to SpringWood seemed to cut through the middle of forest and Jenny couldn’t help feeling like she was going through a tunnel. When the finally reached the city limit of the sleepy little town a sign greeted them, "Welcome to Spring Wood" with a catch phrase of "A nice place to live." The family painted there looked like a fifties cartoon with smiling faces that seemed to carefree.
"Oh isn't that nice." Her mom asked slowing down to a crawl to look at the sign.
"Yea a real nice place to lived." Freddy growled sarcastically to Jenny. "I've brought you in the south way, you'll be closer to elm and get to see the old part of town." He explained. Suddenly Jenny opened her door and jumped out, her mom hit the brakes yelling about dangerous and braking her neck but Jenny wasn’t listening. She walked over to a the sign and with her bright blue nail polish that was in her pocket crossed out the last number of the population, which happened to be a 4 and made it a 6. She step back and looked the population now read 7536, she smiled and went back to the car. Her mom didn’t say anything but was clearly upset.
"We're coming in from the south it says that this is the historical district of the town." Jenny paraphrased while she pretended to read the information, Freddy was being very colorful with her for stepping out of a moving car no matter the reason.
"Alright dear, oh my, will you look at that?" Her mom said suddenly looking up as the trees cleared and they were on a little hill over looking the whole city.
"Woah, I didn’t think it'd be so big." Jenny said without really noticing who she was talking to. They went down into the little hill and Jenny began to relay what Freddy was telling her.
"That’s the Hathaway house it’s the old asylum, its closed down and they opened Westin Hills across town." Jenny looked up the building that was barely visible through the trees that surrounding it. "Back in the 40s this wing was a main one for the criminally insane, it still stands as a tribute to the religious order that maintained it."
"I don’t want you coming up here and exploring it unless you've got some one with you." Her mom said protectively.
"Okay I'll just go in my dreams." Jenny replied absently as she started shuffling papers, her mom through a glance but it went unnoticed.
"Alright we're heading into the Old industrial district now, that's the city's old power plant that closed in '69. Across the street is Penny Brothers Auto Salvage and up the road a little bit is the Edmond A. Gray Company. It doesn’t say why these places are closed only that they stand as a tribut to the time and the architecture of the era."
"That seems silly, you'd think they'd refurbish these places and make more jobs for the people in the town." Susan said with a sigh as she drove through.
"That’s the cemetery, we'll have to come back after we get settled. " Jenny said, her mother nodded but didn’t say anything.
"This must be main street." Her mom said, as they drove down the street Jenny pointed out the park, the public library, the high school, then the town square.
"That’s the Springwood Boy Scout, and the engraving says-"
"The children shall endure." Her mom read, then smiled at her. "I think this is going to be a good town for us. What do you say we go home?"
"That sounds like a wonderful idea." Jenny smiled back. Following Jenny's directions who was really following Freddy.
