Disclaimer: I don�t own the idea of the predator or aliens they are fox�s Predators and Aliens from Fox. . I just think they are cool in their own ways, especially the predators. Scar (although his predator name is mine), Lex, Maxwell Stafford and the companies Weyland and Yutani are also Foxs I am not making any money from this story, I just hope people enjoy it. I have made up the idea and names in this story and if they are similar to any others I do apologise.
Katrina slowly made her way back to the ship. She looked down at her coat and noticed it had no blood on it, but the hole could be clearly seen, �Shit, how am I going to explain that.�
Katrina could just Melissa, she had two other figures with her, they were standing at the main cargo door.
Katrina was starting to get very tired again, and the ship seemed to get further away. Melissa was the first one to spot her �Katrina� she yelled.
Katrina stopped and looked, she saw who else was there and turned to run in the other direction, but she fell.
The trio ran towards her, Yutani pushed Marcus back, �I think you have done enough�. Marcus obeyed, he knew Yutani wouldn�t let him anywhere near Katrina, if he could help it.
Yutani and Melissa continued over to Katrina, she was trying to get back up to run but she couldn�t.
�Kat, are you OK�.
�Go away�.
�Katrina, it is your friend and I, Mr Yutani, you are safe now, Marcus will not touch you.�
Katrina looked up and saw Yutani, he extended his arm to help her up, she reached up to grab his arm and he slowly helped Katrina up on to her wobbly legs.
Yutani looked into Katrinas tired eyes and tried to steady her shivering body, �We have to get her inside.�
Melissa nodded and they started to move. Katrina began to collapse. Yutani scooped her up into his arms and walked into the ship. He immediately took her to the Medical Bay. Yutani looked at the worried friend as he laid Katrina on the table.
Yutani places his hand on Melissa�s cheek, �Will you stay with her until she wakes.�
�Yes Sir.�
Yutani then places a hand on Melissa�s shoulder, then walks to the door, he stops and turns around. Yutani hands Melissa a pager. �If you are worried or it she wakes press this button and I shall come.�
Melissa nods, �When is her Mum coming back.�
�Soon Melissa, the mission should be over soon. Please lock the door behind me.�
Melissa obeyed the instruction and locked the door behind him.
Yutani quickly made his way out of the Medical Bay Too many distractions no matter how beautiful they are.
Yutani made his way to the lower levels where a containment area had been set up. He pushed the code in to allow him access
An assistant approached him, �What do you have?�
�Sir this thing attached itself to the soldiers face while we were in the pyramid. Dr Jones said she thinks it is somehow keeping him alive.�
As they were talking the creatures tail seemed to relax its grip and it fell lifeless beside the soldier.
�Go in and retrieve it , Dr Jones will want to study it.� The soldier looked at the man questionably. �I gave you an order soldier�.
�Yes Sir.� The soldier took a deep breath and moved forward.
An assistant pressed the entry key pad the door slid open and the soldier slowly entered the room. He edged his way up to the unconscious soldier and felt for a pulse, it felt nothing out of the ordinary.
Slowly but surely he moved closer to the spider like creature and poked it with his rifle. The soldier breathed a sigh of relief when it did not move. He heard the soldier moaning some thing.
�Water, I need water�
�Hey get water in here now�, the soldier approached his comrade, �Take it easy soldier we�ll get you some.�
An assistant came running through the door with a glass of water. She then bent down and with some great care picked up the spider-like creature. Then took it out into the examining room and placed it on the table.
�What an ugly looking thing�, she then turned and moved back to the now awakened soldier. He was now sitting up drinking some water.
She placed a hand on his shoulder, �How do you feel?�
�Like I�ve been asleep and something has been shoved down my throat, it�s so sore.�
�Here drink some more fluids,� said a male assistant handing him another glass of water.
�Any ideas on what the hell that thing is.� Says the soldier clutching at his throat, which was still very sore.
�None, once the others are back we will start to study it�. Said the male assistant.
Back in the Pyramid
Packer, Maddie and the rest of the team managed to find two more spider-like creatures. This time however, they were able to use the cryo guns before they attached themselves, they were alive but asleep and would remain so until the antidote was given back at the ship.
Six of the remaining soldiers had been separated from Packer, Maddie and her two remaining assistants, from the screams that were heard, well they were no longer of the living. And from the hissing and screeching that could be heard if they didn�t move they would suffer the same fate. It was then decided to make their way back to the ship with their finds.
�If Yutani wants more he come down here himself� grumbled Packer
Even thought the pyramid had changed once more Packers compass told him that the entrance was not far away.
�Where almost there� he said looking at a worried Maddie, �I�m sure Katrina�s fine Maddie.�
�I wish I had your confidence, Marcus is still there with her.�
The twisting and turning the corridors and halls did made navigation without a compass impossible.
The group turned yet another corner and there was the entrance leading to the stairs.
"Good lets get out of here, this place gives me the creeps,� said Packer, as he made his way down the steps. Maddie and the two assistants that were left following closely.
They reached the sled and Packer punched in the code. Maddie looked at him puzzled.
�I used to work for Weyland before Maxwell Stafford took over from me, I just hope they haven�t changed the code.�
The sled started to move it was a tight squeeze but the four of them managed to fit. Though it did slow the sled down but not by much.
Packer was the first one off the sled and his mouth was open wide in shock. He saw his mens bodies strung up like Weylands men. Helping the women off he turned and noticed Weylands snowmobiles still there.
�Weylands people are still down there, we should send it back down, as much as I don�t like the man, no one deserves to die that way.�
Packer releases the sled down to the bottom of the tunnel. He grabs his equipment and follows the women to the snowmobile.
Something made Packer look to his right, �What the.�
Maddie moved to Packers position, �What�s wrong Samuel?�
�I thought I saw something big move, but I can�t see it now.�
Maddie placed her hand on Packers shoulder, �I think we�ve been out in the cold too long.�
Packer nods and points the snow mobile in the direction of the ship.
Yautja ship
The navigator approached Elder, �Elder, we have moved the ship into position, another group of oomans has left the pyramid.�
�How many?�
�Four Elder, and they have face huggers.�
The Elder sighs and looks towards the water vehicle, �As much as I would like to help Katrina we must wait here for the trial to end.�
�Yes Elder�, the navigator returns to his panel.
Back on the ship Stars 1
Katrina�s eyes slowly opened, she could vaguely notice a face above her �Mum, Mum�, eyes finally focusing on the face, �Oh Mel, Where am I?�
�You�re in the Medical Bay back on the ship�.
Katrina quickly rose up off the table, �Marcus, how did I get here?�
�Mr Yutani told him off, Mr Yutani carried you in here. He gave me this beeper �, Melissa holds up the beeper, �I�ve got to let know when you woke or if I was worried.� Melissa goes to press the button on the beeper. Katrina�s hand reaches out.
�Please, don�t Mel.�
�Why what happened? I heard a gun shot, Did Marcus shoot you?�
Katrina got off the table and turned around, �The bullet passed through my coat.�
Katrina took her coat off, but she forgot about her other clothes.
Melissa looked in shock at the blood, �I thought you said it passed through your coat.�
Katrina moved over to the door to make sure that it was locked. �Please Mel that�s what I want people to believe, can you go into the other room and get me some more clothes?�
�Sure�, Melissa walked into the adjoining room to get Katrina fresh clothes.
Katrina found a large plastic bag and put the bloodied clothes in then hid them in her back pack.
Melissa slowly entered the room and dropped the clothes in shock.
Katrina was standing there in her bra and undies, �Kat you don�t have any bullet hole.�
�You mean holes, Mel the bullet went straight through. Thanks Mel�
�Huh, Oh the clothes, no probs.�
Melissa stood there dumbfounded, �But there�s nothing there, no scar nothing, How?�
Katrina quickly but carefully put the fresh warm clothes on, the pain killers were starting to wear off a little and it did hurt to move. �I can�t tell you.�
�But I�m your best friend.�
�I know but I promised I wouldn�t tell.�
Melissa sat herself down, �But can�t you tell me anything.�
Katrina walked over to her friend and knelt down, �You have to promise me not a word to anyone.� Melissa crosses her heart.
Katrina slowly stands �I met some special people and they healed me, remember you promise not a word, but I think one day they will be back then I�ll show them to you.�
�Sure, not a word,� Katrina gives Melissa a big hug.
�Thanks Mel.�
The sound of a huge engine could be faintly heard making an accelerating sound. The two girls look at each other. �We must be leaving.�
The sound of running footsteps could be heard going past the Medical Bay. �Wonder what�s going on?�
�Don�t know Mel, lets have a look.�
The girls slowly unlock the door and poke their heads out into the hallway, one looking left, the other looking right. The girls look at each other and shrug their shoulders.
�You hungry Mel?�
�Yep, lets go.�
Melissa looked at Katrina, �I hope Sandra is still there.�
�So do I, Mel.�
�Kat, are you sure you�re OK.�
�Yeh, I�m just still a little tired,� The pair decided to rest for a while. �Ok, I�m ready lets go I�m starved, nothing like a gun shot wound to give you an appetite.�
The two girls laugh and head towards the galley. The were almost there when they could see Marcus standing in the doorway they needed to go through to reach the galley.
If he wasn�t such a sleazy arse-hole he would�ve looked so seductive standing there leaning on the door frame.
�So how are we Katrina?� smirked Marcus
�Hungry, now let us go past,� snarled Katrina
�Hungry for what?� he smirked once more.
Katrina went to push past him
�Not so fast, I want to know what happened.� Katrina folded her arms.
�You shot at me and missed, the bullet passed through my coat and I collapsed in shock, end of story.�
Marcus shifted his position from the door way to allow the girls to pass. �Did you hear a growl?�
Katrina grabbed Melissa�s hand and moved past Marcus, �No I didn�t�
The girls decided to run away from that area as fast as they could. Marcus had not followed them yet. They had almost reached the Galley, when Katrina felt very tired once again
�Slow down Mel, I�m beat.� The girls slowed their pace.
�Are you sure you�re OK?�
�Yeh, just tired, the big guy wasn�t wrong when he said I should rest.�
Melissa looked at her friend, �Big Guy.�
�One of the people healed me he was a doctor.�
�Was he good looking?�
�Um I guess so In his own.� Melissa let out a very sexy sounding MMMM sound. �In his own butch body builder type of way, face only a mother could love way. Now please don�t ask me anymore.�
The girls could hear voices. They slowly opened the door to find a meeting going on. The meeting stopped and all eyes were on them. The team had just gotten back from the mission.
Marcus had been following them and came through the door after them.
�Sorry,� the girls slowly and silently moved towards the back of the hall and sat down.
Yutani�s voice echoed in the large hall, �What are you pair doing here?�
Katrina slowly eased herself to painfully stand up, �Sorry Sir, we didn�t know there was a meeting going on or we would have waited.�
Yutani looked at the girls and smiled, �Apology accepted, cook can you get the girls some food, then escort them back to the medical bay.�
Katrina looked at her mother. She knew that her mother knew something had happened.
Maddie looked at Yutani, he scared her, his mood could be as sweet as pie one minute the next he would be ordering your death, and he was being as nice as pie to the girls.
The cook was not Sandra but he was nice enough. Katrina had been introduced to him at a family meal he catered for, but she could not remember his name.
A hot meal had been prepared for the teams return. He dished it out on the plates, covered it and placed it on a tray.
�Would you pair like dessert?�, his voice was calm and polite.
�No thank you this shall be fine.�
�Sandra was right, you are a fresh change around here.�
The three moved towards the exit and Marcus blocked their path. �I will escort them back.�
Packer and Maddie started to jump up from their seats, Yutani�s voice boomed once more.
�I think not Marcus, step aside and allow the cook to carry out my orders.�
Marcus stepped aside, �As you wish.�
The cook and the girls went on their way, the trio looked back to see Marcus staring back at them with an evil smirk on his face.
�He�s up to something,� commented the cook.
They finally reached the Medical Bay. The cook escorted the girl through the doors. He sat the meals down at Maddies desk. He then walked over the door leading into the sleeping quarters and locked it.
He returned and reached into his pocket and pulled out two small bars of chocolate. The girls looked at the bars, to each other then at the cook.
�THANK YOU.�.
The cook rubbed their heads with his hands, �You are both very welcome, remember to lock the door behind me, don�t let anyone but your mother or Mr Packer in, there�s something going on and I don�t like it and I don�t trust Marcus.�
The cook walked out the door. Katrina closed the door and turned the lever to lock it. �Good Girl�. Footsteps could be heard moving away from the door.
Melissa and Katrina look at the meals. �Let�s eat.�
The meal consisted of roast beef, baked potato, pumpkin, carrots, peas and beans, all smothered in gravy. The girls looked at each other �YUM�.
Melissa was the first to finish her meal, Katrina took a few bites of everything on the plate and pushed her plate away.
Maddie sat their in the meeting half listening, mostly wanting this all to be a bad dream.
She couldn�t believe what she was hearing, they actually wanted to study the creatures they found and experiment with their DNA, they way he had done before. All the reports she had read on those experiments ran through her mind. Yutanis wives, their mutilations.
A disturbing thought came to Maddies mind, Who was he going to use?
Yutani signaled that the meeting was over. Maddie and Packer headed towards the door leading to the Medical Bay.
�Where do you think you are going Dr Jones.� Maddie stopped and turned, �You have work to do in the containment area.�
�I know Sir, but I wish to check on my daughter.�
Yutani walked towards Maddie, he reached out and touched her face. It was very hard not to flinch away from touch but she succeeded. �Go check on your daughter Dr.�
Maddie looked up at him. �Thank you Sir.�
His eyes held a sadness, a longing almost. Maddie had heard the reason he encourage employees with families and invested some of his profits in their education was because he had always wanted children. Maybe it was true.
She moved away from Yutani and headed for the door. Packer was not far behind her.
Maddie and Packer reached the door and tried to open it. It was locked. Maddie looked at Packer in fear.
�Oh no, somethings wrong, Katrina, Melissa open the door.�
A lock could be heard turning, then the squeaking of the metal door, Melissa�s face peered out the door. She opened the door right up and ran into Maddies arms crying.
Maddie held the girl tight, �Shh Melissa it�s alright.� Maddie looked up and gasped. Katrina was asleep on the examination table. She looked at the hardly eaten baked meal; it was Katrina�s all time favorite. �What happened to her.�
Maddie moved to her daughter brushing the hair away from her face.
�We were patting some penguins and Marcus followed us. We were coming back to the ship, and he wanted to show Katrina his,� The scared girl points down, �Katrina retaliated when he wouldn�t let us go and slashed him, he shot at her but the bullet only went through her coat.�
As Maddie embraced Melissa she noticed Packer storm towards the door, Maddie stopped him. �I know what you feel like doing, but please he will get his one day.
Maddie moved back to Katrina�s side and wiped a tear from her eyes. �Katrina it�s mummy, time to wake up.�, but she wouldn�t stir.
Maddie checked her vital signs. Blood pressure slightly high but still normal, considering what she has been through. Breathing fine.
Packer approached and ran his fingers through Katrina�s hair, �Is she OK?�
Maddie nods, �She�s just in a deep sleep, Oh Samuel I wish I could stay with her.�
Packer pulls her into an embrace, �I don�t have to be anywhere in particular, I can type letter to the family members that were lost today on any computer.�
�Thank you, I wish Michael had come.�
Packer embraces her firmer. �So do I, but he had to make sure all the equipment arrived and was set up correctly. I�ve got a bad feeling about all this and somehow Katrina�s going to play a big part in it.�
�Samuel, we�ll have to keep a really good eye on her.�
He bent down and gave her a kiss on the cheek. �We will, we all will, Marcus is not well liked at the best of times.�
Packer looks to Katrina�s sleeping form on the examining table. �I think she needs a more comfortable place to sleep though.�
Melissa looked at them, panic could be seen etched in her eyes, �We didn�t lock the other door.�
Packer pulls out his pistol, he unlocks the door and checks, �All Clear, I�ll check the bathroom, Maddie lock the door to the hallway."
Packer exited the bathroom looking pale. Maddie slowly approaches and looks in, the bodies of three penguins could be seen, and a message in their blood, �I�ll fix you.� It didn�t take much guessing who wrote it.
Packer placed his hand on Maddies shoulder, �I�ll fix this up, you�d better go, don�t want to push Yutani�s kindness too far.�
Maddie nods her head, and Melissa walks in.
�Mum what�s going on?� Melissa always called Maddie Mum when she went away with them; it was the same with Katrina when she went with Melissa�s family. Maddie moved to block her view.
�Nothing Melissa, come here,� she grabbed the scared girl and embraced her tightly, �I�m sorry about all this Melissa. I shouldn�t have brought you.�
Melissa broke the embrace, �Don�t say that if I hadn�t have been there I don�t know what else he could have done. Neither of us heard him sneak up on us. If it hadn�t been for that funny clicking noise we heard, we wouldn�t have turned around to head back to the ship and well, I,� Melissa broke down in tears Maddie hugged her once more.
�What do you mean by clicking noise?�
Melissa looked at Maddie, �I don�t know it kind of sounded like someone clicking their tongue or something together really fast.�
Packer grabbed a towel and gently wrapped the bodies. He then found some cleaning solution and wiped the blood of the wall. He then carefully picked the bodies up �Sorry little guys�, then carried them out the door into the hallway.
�Maddie are you sticking around for a bit longer," Maddie nods, "Lock this door until I return.� The girls nod and he strode to the direction of the incinerator.
Packer was nearing the incinerator chute, he could hear and feel the heat. He could see Yutani and Marcus talking, Yutani looked pissed off. Their conversation stopped when they noticed him.
Packer strode forward giving Marcus the death stare, which was returned.
Marcus moved off in the other direction, and Yutani approached Packer.
�How is Katrina?�
Packer looked at Yutani straight in the eyes, �OK, no thanks to Marcus,� Yutani looked at him with a puzzled look, �He shot at her, Melissa says he missed but she�s holding something back I can feel it.�
�What have you there?� asked Yutani pointing to the towel.
Packer unravels the towel revealing the contents, �A present from Marcus to Katrina.�
Yutani gasped when he saw the contents, �Make sure there are two guards around Katrina and Melissa 24/7.
Packer nods, �I�m going first watch, I�ll organize the others as soon as I attend to this.� Packer bows his head to Yutani and moves off. Yutani headed of in the direction of the Medical Bay.
The ship was like a small town, it didn�t take long for what happened to reach on end of it to the other, from the engine room to the galley, the containment area, to the helm.
Maddie herself had constant knocks on the door offering assistance and on his way back from the incinerator Packer had received over ten offers for guarding the girls, a few even offered, unofficially of course, to take Marcus out. Being a true gentleman he begrudgingly declined and informed them to meet him at the Medical Bay in 15 minutes to finalise details.
Yutani approached the door of the Medical Bay and knocked, �Dr Jones, it�s.�
�Sorry Sir, I wont be long.�
�No Dr Jones I wasn�t giving you the hurry up, although time is of the essence. How are the girls?�
�Melissa is very upset, I have given her something to relax, and Katrina is still asleep.�
�Dr Jones, I have ordered that the girls be placed under 24hr guard, I�m going to have the order continued even once we return to the Jungle Compound,� there was a long pause, �I�m sorry this had to happen Dr Jones.�
If Maddie hadn�t known better she would have believed him. Yutani had something in mind for Katrina, her gift with animals was too amazing.
�Dr Jones, when Mr Packer returns, and you feel your daughter is settled resume your duties.�
Maddie looks at her sleeping daughter and her friend, �Yes Sir, Thank you Sir.�
Maddie could hear Yutanis� footsteps getting further and further away.
The ship had not traveled far when a massive explosion could be heard. Yutani made contact with the helm.
�What was that?�
�An explosion Sir, at the mouth of the tunnel.�
�I didn�t think Weyland had explosives with him.�
A nearby soldier looks at Yutani, �He didn�t Sir.�
Yutani stares at the soldier questionably, �My brother is in charge of stores, they never carry explosives."
The captain of the ship asks,�Should we wait to see if assistance is needed.�
�No enough time has been wasted already.� Replied Yutani.
