(A/N: This is where the story starts to earn its Adult+ rating, so expect it from here on out. We'll be getting some more character info towards the beginning, but the plot is going to pick up from here to what we all know and come to expect from the Alien franchise. I'm also going to be introducing/exploring a theory I have in regards to the Species series possibly connecting to the Alien/Prometheus franchise, which can easily be worked in, so let me know what you think of this theory.)

Chapter 3: Not Quite Mating 101
Ramirez wasn’t just a brilliant scientist, she was also a computer wiz. A hacker, to be more precise. In her teenage years, she took great pleasure in gaining access to files that were banned from the public, even deeply confidential government files. She felt right at home in the dark web, and knew exactly what to do to get through almost any security system.
As she got older, she turned her talents to more practical uses, but they still came in handy to find out things she wasn’t supposed to know. It was actually how she gained access to files forbidden from her and her team when she had first been brought onto the project involving Subject 4G2A, or Alice as they called her. Files that she had shared with Scotts when she found him attempting to dig into the Company’s history as well. Those same skills proved more useful now as she once again went through the Company’s more private files.
This wasn’t what she was supposed to be doing, and not simply because she was going through files she didn’t have the clearance for. She was supposed to be on monitoring duty for both Alice and the new specimen. Twenty-four hours surveillance was part of the job, and it was taken in shifts, with someone always watching the monitors at all times. However, for several months now, none of them took their shifts of monitoring Alice seriously, as there was never anything of interest to report. Even now, she was simply lying in her bed, fast asleep. Nothing special or interesting about that.
So Ramirez and the other members of their team would often slack off while on monitor duty by going over data, doing more work, reading a book, or doing something else to preoccupy themselves until their shift ended. Besides, everything that went on in this sector was recorded, so if on the off chance that anything out of the ordinary did happen, they could just check the footage.
With the arrival of the new specimen, Ramirez had thought that monitor duty would become more interesting. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The Facehugger, while a fascinating creature, was rather boring to watch. It simply crawled around the room it was locked in, seemingly studying it. It seemed to have realized that it was trapped in a confined space and was looking for a way out. It stayed by the door for a good while, as if it were trying to figure out how to open it, but eventually gave up and began wandering again. It was very boring to watch.
The most interesting thing that occurred were the few times Alice had approached the window to look in at the Facehugger. It had become aggressive then, throwing itself at the window, but unable to get through to her. It did the same for anyone who walked by the door, leaping at it in an attempt to get to a host, only to give up when it realized it couldn’t get out.
Having grown bored with watching the predictable behavior of both Alice and the Facehugger, Ramirez had decided to learn about something more useful, and had put her hacking skills to the test, delving deeper into any information regarding Xenomorphs that the Company had buried, finding even more than she had before now that she was specifically looking for the information.
Ramirez knew she was prone to becoming completely absorbed in what she was doing, and so wasn’t too upset when she nearly had a heart attack when Sanders entered the room to take over monitor duty.
“Sorry,” Sanders apologized. “Didn’t mean to scare you.”
Placing a hand over her heart, Ramirez gave her a smile. “Not your fault. Just doing a bit of research. It’s been rather… enlightening.”
Sanders raised an eyebrow, mildly curious. “About our new topic of interest?” she asked in reference to the Facehugger.
Ramirez wobbled her head. “Possibly. It could be related. I managed to dig up some old files in regards to an old theory that Peter Weyland was obsessed with.”
Sanders recognized the name. “The Founder of Weyland Corp?”
She received a nod in response. “He poured a lot of money and resources based on this idea that life on Earth was actually created and designed by these extraterrestrial beings the theorists called Engineers, and that they left clues for humanity to be able to find them when the time came.”
Cocking her head to the side, Sanders tried to make the connection. “And what’s that have to do with the Xenomorphs?”
Looking back at her tablet, Ramirez brought up a series of images. “Based on the supposed clues about the Engineers, and the crashed ship with all the Xenomorph eggs, it’s possible that the ship belonged to the Engineers.”
A humorless chuckle escaped Sanders at the irony. “So they think these Engineers are responsible for the creation of the Xenomorphs then? Like some cliché scenario of the creation turning on its creator?”
Giving a small shrug, Ramriez returned her full attention to her tablet. “Possibly. That was the theory they had. Although I guess it’s possible that the Engineers simply stumbled across the Xenomorphs on another planet and were overtaken by them, which caused them to crash. There was a signal coming from the ship warning others away, but who knows; there’s too many possibilities, so we can only speculate, but the Xenomorphs definitely don’t originate from LV-426. It’s a rocky environment with no indigenous life, so they must have been brought there on the ship, Maybe the Engineers created them, maybe they were discovered and got on the ship; we really have no way of knowing. But I do wonder…”
She looked back at the monitors, glancing from the sleeping form of Alice to the wandering Facehugger. She had started developing her own theory between Alice’s species, the Xenomorphs, and the so-called Engineers, if they even existed. It seemed like a bit of a long shot, but the more she thought about it, the more it seemed to make sense.
“Well?” Sanders asked with growing curiosity. “What do you wonder?”
Ramirez blinked, and realized she had unintentionally said the last part out loud. “Oh, sorry, I was talking to myself. But think about this. We originally got the DNA that was used to create Alice’s ancestors from an unknown alien race, right?”
Sanders nodded. “Along with directions on how to create them. So?”
“So,” Ramirez said, sounding slightly impatient, “what if those aliens that gave us that DNA, the same ones that left another sample on Mars, were actually these Engineers?”
Pulling a skeptical look, Sanders frowned in thought. Based on what Ramirez had told her, these Engineers were entirely theoretical, with only a few vague clues that merely suggested that they might exist at all. To make the jump that these theoretical aliens who might have theoretically created these Xenomorphs were the same ones that provided humanity with the DNA and instructions on how to create Alice and her predecessors seemed like more than a bit of a stretch.
“That seems unlikely,” she told Ramirez. “The universe is a big place, and we know that there’s life on other worlds. Intelligent life at that. Didn’t you see those reports of that extraterrestrial race of hunters that occasionally come to Earth. What were they called again…?” She snapped her fingers as she remembered. “The Yautja. So even if these Engineers are real, there’s other intelligent life besides them. The odds that these Engineers, even if they exist, are the same race of aliens that provided us with the Species DNA is astronomical.”
Ramirez nodded in agreement. “I know it’s a stretch, but look at all the similarities between adult Xenomorphs and Alice’s alien form. Not only do they look somewhat similar, but their primal functions seem to be to breed with other species and take them over through reproduction.”
Still skeptical, Sanders resisted the urge to roll her eyes. “It’s probably just a coincidence. Lots of species have similarities to other species, even ones completely different from them. Not just in function, but also appearances. Spiders have a similar appearance to crabs, don’t they? Hawks and salmon both lay eggs, but are completely different. The odds are greater that they’re similarities are a coincidence rather than being designed by the same alien race.”
“True,” Ramirez agreed, “but if you consider that all life on Earth originated from the sea and simply evolved into all the animals they are today, meaning they all share a common ancestor if you go back far enough, then they all have that original connection. So if these Engineers exist and are a race of creators or whatever, then both Xenomorphs and Alice’s kind could have come from an original source that the Engineers tinkered with and simply evolved in different directions, or were simply designed differently.”
A sigh escaped Sanders. She had to admit, Ramirez had a point, and it was an interesting theory, but there was no actual evidence to back it up, and as far as she was concerned, if there was no proof to back up a hypothesis, then it should be taken as nothing more than a theory until something changed that suggested it could be something more. Even if a theory did prove to be true later, until it was proven to be true, it was still just a theory to her.
“It’s an interesting hypothesis,” she replied, not wanting to completely dismiss the idea, “but it’s just a theory. We’ll have to look into it before we can give it any merit. Maybe take a DNA sample from both Alice and the Facehugger and see how similar they are. If we find some relation between them, then maybe we can consider it further. Bring it up with Dr. Fritz, see what she says about it.”
Ramirez bit her bottom lip in concern. “That’ll be a little difficult. I got the idea after looking at these files, and some of it I wasn’t exactly supposed to be poking around in.”
Sanders’ eyebrows rose, but a smirk crossed her face. “You’ve been hacking again?”
A coy smile spread across Ramirez’s face. “Why have a skill if you’re not going to use it?”
Laughing lightly, Sanders nodded to the door. “Go to bed, Sam. It’s my turn to keep watch. We can figure out a way to present your theory without you getting in trouble tomorrow.”
Ramirez sighed. “Fine, but if you were hoping for a more exciting shift, you’re going to be disappointed. The Facehugger is just as boring to watch as Alice. It’s just been wandering around this whole time.”
Glancing at the monitor, Sanders saw that the Facehugger was indeed just crawling about, either looking for a way out or lamenting about its captivity. She wondered just how intelligent it was to be able to try and find a way to escape. But then again, even creatures of low intelligence were able to figure out when they were trapped and attempt to find a way out.
“Well,” she said in resignation, “if it does anything interesting, I’ll be sure to make note of it.”
With that, she took Ramirez’s place at the monitor while her coworker went to bed. As she sat there, however, she learned very quickly that Ramirez was right; watching the Facehuger was just as boring as watching Alice, maybe even more so. True, it was a fascinating creature to look at in general, if not repulsive in appearance, but after the novelty wore off, and it simply continued to crawl around the room, interest in watching it quickly waned.
Speaking of looking, she wondered how the Facehugger managed to get around. It moved and acted like it could see, but there were no eyes present anywhere on its body. Not that eyes were a necessity; after all, there were plenty of animals on Earth that got around just fine without sight. Did the Facehugger use its other senses to interact with its environment, or did it maybe have a bunch of tiny eyes too small to see, or they were even located beneath its skin and it could see through its own flesh?
Eyes weren’t the only things it was lacking though. It also didn’t have a mouth. That wasn’t too unusual either though. There were animals on Earth that also didn’t have mouths. But then how did it eat or drink? Did it filter-feed like a sea sponge? Or maybe they absorbed nutrients and such through its skin. Or perhaps it actually did have a little mouth somewhere on its underside and she just hadn’t seen it during the brief period it had exposed its underside when it was pressed up against the glass.
Or perhaps they really didn’t need to eat or drink at all. From what they were told, a Facehugger’s sole function was to impregnate a host, after which it would soon die. Prior to that, the eggs housed the Facehuggers, only releasing them from their confines when a host was nearby. Maybe Facehuggers actually couldn’t last long once released from their eggs, so there was no need for them to eat or drink since they weren’t supposed to live that long, and the eggs preserved them up to that point. She would have to bring up this concern to Fritz in the morning; it wouldn’t do to have their specimen die on them.
There was so much to learn, but they wouldn’t truly be able to really learn about it until they put it under the knife and microscope. Of course, she knew that they had to learn all they could of it while it was still alive first. And then later, based on what Cypher had said, a host of some kind would be provided to allow the Xenomorph to enter its next stage. A Chestburster Lana had called it.
A disgusted shudder passed through Sanders. These Xenomorphs truly were vile creatures. What deity, Engineer, force of nature, evolutionary path, or whatever could have possibly saw fit to spawn such a horrible lifeform? But then again, there were some equally as repulsive creatures, primarily parasitic ones, on Earth that were just as grotesque, some even following a similar path to the Xenomorph lifecycle, or at least the Xenomorph had traits of different ones that its own species followed.
As she watched the Facehugger crawl around on the monitor, something suddenly latched onto her own face. She caught a brief glimpse of long digits that reminded her of the Facehugger’s finger-like legs before her vision was obstructed and her face was clasped. A moment later, she felt something wrap around her neck, cutting off her air supplies.
A muffled scream escaped Sanders as she panicked. Had another Facehugger been on the shuttle the androids had arrived in? Or worse, was this planned? After what Ramirez had said about what the Company had done in the past, had they actually been planning to use one of them as a host for a Facehugger and make it look like an accident? Was she going to suffer the same fate that she had seen in that hologram projection? Please, God, anything but that!
But then an amused and obnoxious voice spoke in her ear. “Beware, Facehugger attack.”
The voice made her freeze, and her rational mind kicked in. What was covering her face was much smaller than a Facehugger, and there were only five digits rather than the eight long, boney legs. Also, it wasn’t a tail that was wrapped around her neck, but a hand, and it wasn’t choking her, merely putting light pressure against her throat, leaving her with plenty of space to breathe.
Fear gave way to anger, and she slammed her elbow back, jabbing it into the stomach of her so-called attacker. She heard them grunt in paid and release her. Good, she hoped it hurt.
Turning around, she glared at Rogers as he stumbled away from her, rubbing his stomach where she had jabbed him. He looked up at her and gave her an annoyed look. “Jesus, Trina, what the hell?”
“That’s my line,” she countered. “What the hell was that?”
“It’s called a joke.”
She rolled her eyes. “No, it’s called being an asshole. A joke is something both parties can laugh at.”
He grinned mischievously. “Then it was a prank.”
Letting out an exhausted sigh, Sanders returned her attention to the monitor, wondering why she indulged him, or even found him remotely appealing. True, options were limited when you only had five people and an alien hybrid for company, and she did find Rogers more attractive than the geeky Scotts. Still, he did know how to push her buttons.
He came up behind her, leaning against her chair, an arm on either side of her, as he looked at the monitors. “So, how’s our face raping friend doing?”
Sanders’ mouth dropped open in disgust and she glanced up at him. “Uch, don’t call it that.”
He smirked at her discomfort. “Why not? It’s true.”
“Because it’s vile enough being what it is without you describing it by what it does.”
He didn’t say anything to this, and they watched the monitors in silence for a minute or two. The Facehugger crawled up onto the table and seemed to look around the room for a few seconds before leaping at them and bouncing off the window, just as it had done several times before.
“Has it done anything of interest all this time?” Rogers asked.
Sanders clicked her tongue and dramatically shook her head. “Nope. Still just trying to find a way out. Nothing too thrilling about that. Don’t worry, you’ll find out just how boring it is after my shift.”
Rogers shifted forward, resting his chin on her shoulder as he draped his arms down her body. “Or we could make both of our shifts a little more entertaining.”
Knowing what he was referring to, she didn’t rise to the bait, instead keeping her eyes on the monitor. “Not tonight. We have a job to do.”
She felt his breath against the side of her neck as his lips grazed against her skin. “Never stopped us before.”
He wasn’t wrong about that. Despite being on the clock for monitor duty, the two of them would often spend their shifts in either his sleeping quarters or hers, doing the kinds of things they both knew Alice was craving to do instead of watching the monitors like they were supposed to. But it really wasn’t necessary; Alice never did anything noteworthy, and was only monitored as a requirement rather than for any actual need. Everything that went on in her room was always recorded anyway, so even on the off chance that something out of the ordinary happened, they would have a record of it.
But that was before they had a new specimen to observe, and Sanders tried to keep that in mind as Rogers’ hands moved up her body and began caressing her breasts through her shirt.
“We didn’t have anything other than Alice to observe before,” she replied as she tried and failed to ignore his attempts to seduce her. “We have to watch it to see what it does.”
She felt more than heard him chuckle behind her as he began trailing light kisses over her pulse point, which he knew was one of her erogenous zones. “Screw it. We know what it’s going to do. The same thing it’s been doing for the past several hours since it hatched; walk around in circle as it tries to find a way out. You really want to watch that or watch Alice sleep for the next four hours when we can be doing something more fun?”
Damn him, he was getting to her, and she had been so angry with him just a few minutes ago from his little prank. They may not officially be a couple, but they had been lovers long enough for him to know how to touch her to make her melt. Even now as he pressed kisses over her neck, she found herself tilting her head to give him better access.
“We really shouldn’t,” she said in a breathy voice as she began to fidget in her seat. “Bad enough when we risked this when it was just Alice we had to watch. Now that we have something new, we could get in real trouble for not doing our job.”
He began nibbling on her earlobe as one of his hands began sliding down her body. “Don’t you find it exciting though? The thrill of getting caught?” He slipped his hand into her pants and pressed a finger over her center, feeling the wetness that had gathered there. He chuckled at her body’s reaction. “I guess you do.”
She inhaled deeply as he slipped a finger inside her, her back arching slightly. She had to admit, a few hours of rolling around in the sheets with him did indeed sound a lot more appealing than watching these monitors, and it was becoming harder and harder to think of why she should pick the latter over the former.
“We shouldn’t…” she panted.
“That’s what makes it so exciting,” Rogers whispered hotly in her ear. “And doesn’t the prospect of having another alien to study just get your blood pumping? You really do look adorable when you start nerding out.”
At some point, her own hand had covered the one he had slipped into her pants, and she was moving in time with his fingers. He was being very convincing, and she desperately wracked her lust-filled brain to try and come up with some kind of reason as to why she shouldn’t go with him, but couldn’t. Nothing was happening on the monitors, and she honestly didn’t think anything would. Her shift was four hours long, as was Rogers’ immediately after. Fritz’s turn came next, but her shift was eight hours away, and she had always slept until then, never catching their liaisons; they had always been sure to be back in time, though there had been some close calls.
“But…” she breathed out, her voice barely above a whisper, “the Facehugger…”
“Screw it,” he told her. “It’s not going anywhere. You want a real face-hugger, you can hug my face with your legs.”
His crude statement coupled with delicious memories of what he could do with that wicked tongue of his was enough to break her resolve. She stood up, his hand slipping out of her pants, and turned to face him. Keeping her body turned to him, she slid past him and began walking backwards towards the door, her cheeks flushed with arousal.
“You better make it worth the while,” she told him challengingly.
Smirking, Rogers brought his hand to his mouth and sucked her wetness off his fingers. “I aim to please.”
He followed her out of the room, leaving the monitors unattended. Up on the monitor, the Facehugger had wandered over to one of the bookshelves and began fingering the two-inch space between it and the wall with its legs. On the screen next to it, Alice continued to sleep.
(-)-(-)-(-)-(-)-(-)-(-)-(-)-(-)
Rogers and Sanders raced through the Atlas to their rooms like two smitten teenagers. There was really no need to keep quiet, as the rest of the team was asleep since these were the night hours, and all their personal rooms were soundproof. Even the androids had needed to enter power down mode to recharge themselves, and were doing so on their shuttle along with Houtras, so there was no fear of waking anyone up.
Sanders’ room was closer to the monitoring room, so she led them there. The moment the door closed behind them, she turned to him and was immediately scooped up. She let out a squeal that turned into a laugh as Rogers threw her over his shoulder and carried her the rest of the way to the bed. He tossed her down onto it, but immediately grabbed her by the legs, pulling her to the edge of the bed, his hands going to her pants.
Back in the room the Facehugger was in, the large, heavy bookcase had slowly shifted centimeter by centimeter at the forceful attempts the alien had made to try and make the small space bigger as it attempted to slip through the crack. In the room next door, Alice continued to sleep.
Rogers had stripped Sanders lower body bare at this point, and she had torn off her own shirt. As he made to remove his, she sat up and began fiddling with the belt of his pants in her urgency to remove any barriers between them. Once it was open, he tossed his shirt aside and took over, pushing his pants and boxers down to his ankles as Sanders shifted towards the middle of the bed while reaching back to unstrap her bra. She barely had it off before Rogers fell forward in the bed, grasped her hips, and pulled her forward once more before latching his mouth onto her nether region.
In the Facehugger’s room, the bookcase had shifted enough for the parasite to squeeze behind it, but it was no longer present. What was present though was an air vent that had been covered up by the bookcase’s placement. A hole had been burned through the thin metal grates, the melted strips still smoking. Only the Facehugger’s tail remained, but then it too disappeared through the hole it had created, and the sound of the alien’s legs creeping along echoed through the air vent.
Sanders panted and moaned as Rogers made good on his promise from earlier, his mouth and tongue driving her crazy. Her hands twisted the sheets in her grip as her legs hugged his head just as he said they would, and it wasn’t too long before he had her arching off the bed, screaming her pleasure.
When she came back down, she looked down the length of her body, seeing him arrogantly smirking at her. She was somewhat tempted to give him a little kick in the head to knock him down a few pegs, but after what he had just done, she instead gave him a seductive smile and curled her finger in a come-hither motion. He needed no further encouragement and crawled up the length of her body while kicking off his remaining clothes.
They shifted to the center of the bed, and he blanketed her with his body. She likewise opened her legs to him and wrapped her arms around him. He gently cupped her face in his hands before pressing his lips to hers, and their mouths sealed together in a heated kiss.
Alice continued to sleep, unaware of what was going on in either Sanders’ room and the one next door. Beneath her bed, an air vent just like the one next door was present, and it too now had a hole that had been burned in it as if from acid. Her sensitive nose had picked up the smell of burning, melted metal, but in her unconscious state, she didn’t react to it. Nor did she react as the legs of the Facehugger crept up the side of her bed.
As it crawled up, she went from sleeping on her side to laying on her back as she shifted in her sleep. A frown crossed her lips and her eyes began moving behind her lids as her instincts detected danger, even in her sleep, but she still did not wake, not even as the Facehugger crawled all the way up onto the bed.
Rogers and Sanders continued to kiss and caress each other as their passion grew. Rogers began trailing kisses down her face to her chest, taking one of her nipples in his mouth. Sanders threw her head back as a pleased moan escaped her, and she tangled her hands in his hair as his other hand massaged her other breast. He then switched sides, causing her to moan again as he teased and tormented her. A smile grazed her face as she decided that this had indeed been the better decision. It was far more appealing than staring at those dumb monitors for hours on end.
But she had had enough foreplay. Giving his hair a tug, she brought him back up until he was level with her, and they locked lips again. She wrapped her legs around his waist, silently conveying what she wanted. He didn’t disappoint as he aligned himself with her entrance and slammed into her with a single thrust, causing her to cry out into his mouth.
The Facehugger seemed to know that Alice was asleep, and so it slowly made its way up her body so as not to wake her. Alice shifted about and mumbled in her sleep in apparent distress, but her instincts that detected danger only manifested in the form of incomprehensible dreams. Inhuman noises started to escape her at the prospect of danger, but she did not wake; nightmares were a common thing for her.
The Facehugger had made it up to her chest at this point, and its legs were slowly sliding around her head. Its breeding appendage slipped out of its opening and began to gently push against her lips, pushing her mouth open as its tail started coiling around her neck.
Not a sound was heard in Alice’s room as the Facehugger settled on her face, but in Sanders’ room, it was quite a different story. Pleasured moans and animal-like grunts were heard as the two occupants made love furiously. Sanders had her arms and legs wrapped around Rogers as he pounded into her. She panted and moaned loudly in his ear as he grunted into her neck, their bodies sliding together in an animalistic frenzy that had them both sweating and breathing heavily.
The Facehugger’s organ had made its way into Alice’s mouth and was working its way to the back of her throat. Despite the danger, her body seemed to recognize that some kind of sexual activity was taking part, and it reacted accordingly, her throat opening more to allow the invading organ to make it down easier. The Facehugger’s long legs slid across her face in the meantime as it settled on top of her head, grasping it securely.
Sanders was becoming more vocal as Rogers thrusted into her, pushing her towards the edge. She could tell he was getting close as well with the way his movements were becoming rougher, and she squeezed her inner muscles to help him along. He grunted loudly in response and lifted his face out of the crook of her neck, his expression strained. Her gasps and moans grew louder until she was nearly screaming, and then her climax hit, and she cried out. Her body’s reaction drove Rogers over the edge, and his own loud groan joined hers as he released himself inside her.
They stayed locked together as waves of their orgasms ran through them both, then Sanders brought her hand up to take a handful of his hair to pull him down, and their mouths came together in a series of heated kisses. They kissed for several long moments before breaking apart, and then they began to laugh at the joy their bodies had brought to each other.
As the two rejoiced in their post-coitus merriment, a mating of a very different kind went on in Alice’s room, with no one on the station being any the wiser.
(A/N: And so it's begun. The Facehugger managed to find a way out of its room and has chosen the worst possible host it could have. This is definitely not going to go over well. And while it may have seemed awkward, I found including a sex scene going on at the same time as the Facehugger impregnating a host to be poetically ironic, like the two scenes are complimenting each other in a horrifying way. Speaking of which, who liked the backstory and lore I created with Ramirez's theory connecting the Alien franchise to the Species franchise? There are a lot of similarities between Xenomorphs and Species, from appearance to behavior. Having the Engineers be the alien race that gave humanity the Species DNA would be the perfect way to connect the two series. That's a theory my friends and I have been juggling around for a while, which has helped to for the inspiration for this story. On that note, things are really going to start picking up now, so get ready for it.)
