Nothing much else happened while Andy was still around. Brandon didn't even get a chance to figure out if what happened between them was purely a one-time thing before she left. He did get a friendly hug as she headed out the door where her Mom was waiting to pick her up though, which he thought was probably not a bad sign.
Unfortunately with their friend gone, Mikey appeared to hit a dangerously bored state fairly quickly. That's how he looked it when he spent most of his time in his room and didn't look like he had much to occupy himself with when Brandon walked by a couple times. He figured that Mikey would at least hit him up for some new scheme before going off on his own, which would give him a little warning. As it turned out Brandon was sort of right.
"So are you missing Andy yet?" Mikey asked Brandon Saturday evening as he casually entered his brother’s room.
"A bit. I guess I would've liked to talk to her before she left."
"You could always find her at school on Monday. Or I could give you her number if you make it worth my while."
Mikey was probably genuinely willing to negotiate that information, but Brandon was pretty sure his heart wasn't really in it. The boy clearly hadn't just wandered in for no reason, but he wasn't giving me any useful clues about what he really wanted.
Eventually Mikey laid down on the bed and curled up with his legs pulled protectively toward his chest. Brandon took that as meaning he wasn't planning on leaving soon.
"Can I help with something?" Brandon asked.
"I don't know, maybe." Mikey paused for a long moment, perhaps waiting for his brother to prompt him again. "I keep thinking about you and Andy," he said finally.
"It's really bugging you that much?"
"Kind of. I keep seeing it in my head, only it's different."
Brandon didn't strictly mind Mikey picturing him getting head, although it was weird to hear him say. They also seemed to be getting into territory Brandon wasn’t ready to handle.
"How is it different?" Brandon asked for lack of anything better to say.
"Sometimes it's me and not her."
Mikey said it in a completely neutral voice, and his face gave away nothing that would suggest he was joking.
"Like you're..."
"Like I'm sucking you off, yeah. I always knew I was sorta messed up, but this is a whole new level for me."
"You're not messed up." Brandon shook his head. "Everyone thinks about stuff sometimes that they feel guilty about later."
"How about you?"
"Of course. Some of it... well, it's about you."
That got the boy’s interest. Brandon wouldn't normally have ever said anything about it, but Mikey did start it so Brandon figured it wouldn't bother him that much. Plus, he knew the younger wouldn't tell anyone else.
"What kind of stuff about me?" Mikey asked.
"I dunno, just stuff. Like when you come out of the shower wearing just a towel or something, I can't always stop my imagination you know?"
"So you think about me being naked sometimes?"
Brandon winced a little at how bluntly his brother put it, but didn't try to retract his statement.
"Yeah."
"But you feel guilty," Mikey said thoughtfully. "What if I said I didn't mind? What if we decided that we can both think whatever we want about each other?"
"I'm not sure that's how it works Mike."
"Why not? Isn't it just 'cause you're worried what I'd think if I found out? Well now that won't be a problem."
Mikey had a talent for making things simpler than they really were. It probably got him into trouble as much as it helped.
"Weren't you worried about what I'd think too?" Brandon asked, changing the subject slightly.
"Yeah, that's why I told you. Because if you know now then I don't have to worry about you finding out later. Also, if you did get mad then at least you'd get over it sooner."
Simple but true. Sometimes Brandon wished the world worked the way his little brother thought it did.
"You're one weird kid," Brandon told him.
"I know." Mikey grinned and stuck out his tongue at the chuckling teen. "So we got a deal?"
"It's not like what you think is any of my business anyway, so yeah I guess I'm okay with it."
"Good."
Mikey stood up and was gone without saying another word. The conversation had been a little odd, but it hadn't gone nearly as badly or freaky as it could’ve.

A few days passed, and the brothers entered a new week of school. Their parents hadn't found anything out of place upon their return, so they were back to business as usual.
By Wednesday Brandon still hadn't really had much of a chance to talk to Andy. They didn't have any classes together and there really wasn't any reason Brandon would run into her without making a specific effort.
Mikey on the other hand did run into him often after a science class Brandon took so the two saw each other at least once a day at school. Brandon didn't think anything had changed all that much between them, but sometimes when he looked at him Brandon could swear there was something in his innocent blue eyes that never used to be there. It made Brandon wonder what exactly he might be seeing.
