Chapter Twenty Nine: A Little Night Music
“There!” Rachel exclaimed as she tugged out the last tangle. “Now all that’s left are these,”
she indicated the beads and baubles still tied into Jack’s hair. “I’m going to miss them, I think.”
“Careful with them, luv,” Jack responded. “Each of them has a meaning for me. I’d hate to lose
them.”
“I’ll be very careful,” she said. She slowly began to remove them from his hair, one by one,
placing them in a small velvet bag for safekeeping. “I’d like to hear some of their stories
sometime.”
“And so I shall have to oblige you,” he said. “But not till they’re firmly back where they belong.”
“I suppose I can waitt lot long. Now, into the tub with you.”
The tub had been filled while Rachel combed out Jack’s tangled locks and lay waiting for him in
the center of the cabin. As he stepped in, the strains of a fiddle began on deck as the crew began
their evening celebrations. Life aboard ship could be quite dull, but plenty of rum and a good
fid cou could alleviate the boredom for an evening at least. The sounds of a lively reel filled the
air.
“Well,” Jack grumped, “someone’s having a good time, at least.”
Rachel picked up the sponge and began to work up a lather. “I could take that as an insult, you
know.”
“Oh, luv, I didn’t mean it that way. But getting those tangles out hurt! And I don’t feel right
without my trinkets.”
Rachel began to run the soapy sponge over Jack’s chest. “And you’re saying there are no benefits
to be found in this situation?”
Jack grinned. “Not at all, luv.” He reached for her but she pushed his hands away.
“Just relax,” she told him. “I’m making you do this, the least I can do is pamper you a bit.” She
returned his grin. “Besides, if you do that, we’ll never get your hair washed.”
“Let’s get that over with,” he responded. “Then maybe I can enjoy this.”
“Okay, if you say so,” she said as she pushed his head under the water. He sat up quickly,
sputtering.
“A little warning, luv!” he admonished.
“I’m sorry,” she giggled. “I just couldn’t resist.”
She began to lather his hair, scrubbing to get it good and clean. It was thicker than it looked
under the bandanna. Oil, dirt, and sea salt had given it a flat, weighted down look. She couldn’t
wait to see it clean and dry.
“Rinse time,” she said. “Warning enough?”
He ducked down and she helped him to rinse all of the soap out of his hair. Picking up her comb,
she knelt on the floor behind him and began carefully to comb through his wet tresses. “See,” she
said. “That’s not so bad, is it?”
“Actually, that feels good, now that the tangles are gone.”
“Just wait till it’s dry and I can take the brush to it,” she said.
She returned to his side and picked up the sponge again. Leaning over him, she started to wash
his body.
“You’re getting yer clothes all wet, luv,” he told her. “Maybe you should take them off.”

She smiled. “Ah, there’s my Jack!” She laid down the sponge and began to remove her clothing.
The sounds of the crew’s revels reached them, punctuated by the fiddle. “And now who’s having
the better time?” she asked.
“Oh, no question, luv,” he breathed. “You take my breath away.”
She knelt beside the tub, retrieving the sponge. “You say the nicest things,” she said as she trailed
the sponge over his skin. She washed his body thoroughly, paying very close attention to where
the sponge was going. Lifting his leg from the water, she ran her nails lightly down his inner thigh
followed by the sponge. His manhood responded instantly, rising out of the water. Lathering her
hands, she shifted her attention to the length of him protruding from the surface. Her soapy hands
wrapped around him, caressing softly as he grew. He moaned and reached for her again, but
again, she dodged his embrace. She pulled back his foreskin, washing the head of his shaft with
one hand as the other reached down to lather the pendulous sacs suspended below.
“Ohh, Rachel,” Jack moaned. He laid his head back against the tub, letting the sensations
overtake him.
Rachel smiled. He didn’t let her do this often. He wanted to be involved in every aspect of their
lovemaking. It was rare for him to lie back and let her do what she wanted to him. She was
going to enjoy it while she could. Her hands shifted, pulling his manhood under the water. He
sighed as the water swirled around the sensitive flesh she held in her hands. The music of the
fiddle reached a crescendo and died, only to begin anew. This time the music was soft.
“The music is nice,” she said as her hands continued to caress him. Leaning forward, she placed
her mouth over his nipple, letting her tongue caress his skin.
“Mmm,” he moaned in response. His hand came up to stroke her hair.
She let her tongue wander over his chest, exploring the two puckered scars left from an encounter
with the East India Trading Company. That was another tale she wanted to hear one day. She
looked up to find Jack watching her intently. He pulled her slowly toward him and kissed her
softly.

Drawing his legs up under him, he stood up and stepped out of the tub. She stepped into his arms
and kissed him, running her fingers over his wet body. He moaned softly and lifted her into his
arms, carrying her to the bed.
“Here there’s room for both of us,” he said, gently laying her upon the bed. He kissed her again,
holding his body suspended above her, his growing erection brushing her thighs.
“I knew you had another reason for wanting my clothes off,” she teased. “And now the bed’s all
wet.”
“I sincerely hope the bed is not all that is wet,” he replied with a grin. “Let me see.”
He gently parted her legs and dipped his face between them, his tongue tracing over her most
sensitive spot.
“Ohh, Jack,” she moaned. “Turn around my l I I want to taste you, too.”
He moved his body to accommodate her wishes, never taking his tongue from her body. He
rolled her onto him, feeling her weight settle onto his body. His tongue continued its tender
ministrations, stroking her with fervor.
“Mmm,” she purred. “Mine.” She slowly drew his manhood into her mouth, savoring the
sensations he was giving to her. He groaned as his member sank into her warm embrace, her
tongue pressing against him.
“Oh, Rachel, you are so perfect.” He renewed his efforts eagerly, his tongue probing inside her.
She moaned with pleasure as her body began to tremble. She began to suck harder and faster as
she felt herself rising toward release. The music began to shift, getting faster and more wild. The
same song, but played with more frenzy. Their moans drowned in the raising volume of the
fiddle, they clung to one another as their passion reached its own crescendo, crashing down upon
them with a force not to be denied.
Afterwards, they laid in one another’s embrace, gently holding each other. “Remind me to give
that fiddler a bonus in the morning,” Jack purred.
“Mmm, if you don’t, I will,” Rachel replied, snuggling close to him, allowing the rocking of the
ship to have its way. She drifted slowly into sleep as he held her. He watched her sleep for a
while, as he listened to the sounds of the crew packing up for the night. Then he closed his eyes,
and slept.
