Vashite woke up in Doom's study naked and alone on the floor. She got up and went to take a bath. While she was in the tub relaxing, her mind began racing again about the other side of him. She was well aware of what she told him about trying to get used to him as he was. She just couldn't get the memory out of her head of him morphing into a snake. I'm still not sure about him. How could he truly love me if he is a totally different species from me? What does he want from me? These thoughts saddened her because she really believed that he loved her.
She sat in the tub and prayed to Set to send her a sign. After her prayer, she got out of the tub and went to her room. She laid in bed and fell fast asleep. She felt someone gently shaking her and it was Doom.
"I told you . . . I wanted you to sleep with me from now on . . . Why must you insist on disobeying me child?" He said. When she sat up sleepily on the edge of the bed, he picked her up and carried her to his bed.
When he laid her down, she suddenly became frightful of him again. For some reason, she felt that he would turn to his snake form and swallow her whole. She glued her eyes on him and shivered with fear. He wrapped his arms around her and tried to assure her that she had nothing to be afraid of.
"My sweet . . . is there something that you want to tell me? he asked genuinely concerned.
"Doom . . . I'm afraid . . . " she replied.
"Afraid of what . . . my love?" he said preparing to listen to what she had to say.
She sat up and told him exactly what she was feeling "I'm afraid of you. I'm still in shock about you being what you are,and I can't help it. . . I realize that you are not human . . . and I noticed that you are not fond of humans at all either . . . It seems that since they are not your own kind, you don't mind killing them. Where does that leave me? Would you kill me as casually as you kill them? How could you love me when I am the very human that you despise so much?"
He thought carefully before answering "I do love you . . .I am sure of that. I won't kill you. You are special . . . One of a kind . . . like myself. That's why I am so fond of you . . . Since I am the only one of my kind living, I have no choice but to be amicable to the enemy. I have had to become used to being with human women over the past few centuries." He sighed and continued, "Vashite, I have never seen a creature as desirable as you . . . I just cannot let you leave me . . . I know that you haven't accepted me the way I am as a snake man, and that is understandable . . . but I am what I am and you will just have to get used to me."
She replied to him as tears welled up in her eyes "I will do my best to accept you . . . This is a lot harder than I thought. You should know that I do love you the way you love me."
He kissed her tears away, wrapped his arms around her, and held her until she fell asleep.
