“I may
kill you if we keep this up,” he growled in her ear after a few hours.
“I’ll
die semi happy,” she laughed. Kayla tried to get up, but Ne’el pulled her back
down. Kayla could feel his breath against her ear, causing a tingling
sensation. His chest was vibrating against her back.
“What
would make you completely happy?”
“You,
Ne’el, the Yautja who will fight a thousand hard meats with no weapons before
he ever touches me, whishes to know what would make an ooman happy?” Kayla
teased.
“Shut
up,” he growled before nipping her neck playfully. “It was a hundred, not a
thousand. I apologize for any of my foolish words that may have hurt you.”
“I
accept.”
“Now
what would make you happy, besides getting your voice back?”
Kayla
turned around to look at him. “I can’t tell you yet.”
They
never talked about what was the breaking point or why they both decided to give
into one another. The main thing was, they were happy
that they did. Their arguments went down to once a week. Lee’na wasn’t too
thrilled. Ne’el didn’t have the energy like he used to when they mated and now
for her it was less frequently. What bothered Lee’na the most was she wasn’t
pregnant yet. She even mated when she wasn’t in heat. Ne’el and Pahel checked
her thoroughly and there were no signs of her not being able to conceive a
child. She had a strong suspicion that Kayla was. Her afternoon sickness was a
give away every time she picked Su’tara up from the community play area. Kayla
noticed the attitude from Lee’na lately, but she didn’t understand why.
Kayla
took Su’tara for her weekly checkup. “Kayla,” Pahel sighed. “Why do you insist
on weekly checkups? Su’tara is perfectly fine.”
“Well
you can never be to sure,” she said as Su’tara hopped up on one of the medical
beds. Pahel looked at her.
“Well I
can tell you she’s very agile for her age,” Pahel ran his scanners over her.
“She should not be able to hop on the bed like that for another year or so.” He
looked at Kayla. “Once again Kayla, she’s perfectly fine.”
“That’s
good to hear,” Kayla smiled, “I’ll see you next week.”
“While
you’re here lets look at you for a change,” Pahel started to run his scanner
again before Kayla could protest. “Oh I love this new technology. You’re not
that far along in your pregnancy yet I can tell it’s a boy.”
“I’m
pregnant?” Kayla thought it was possible, but she really hadn’t been eating
much lately and thought she was getting sick from changing her eating habits.
“Well
Ne’el will be happy,” Pahel looked at her. “Ne’el will be happy right?”
“Yes
Ne’el,” Kayla laughed.
“I’m
going to have a little brother?” Su’tara questioned.
“Yes,”
Kayla reached for her hand. Kayla laughed when her daughter trilled softly.
Kayla took Su’tara to the sparring hall. It was her first time and she was
completely amazed. She held onto Kayla’s hand and trilled softly.
“Uncle,”
Su’tara yelled as Maha'vin walked up to her. He picked her up and nodded at
Kayla.
“How
are you Kayla?” Su’tara was shaking his mandible and he pretended to bite her.
“I’m
good, thank you,” Kayla laughed.
“I’m
having a brother,” Su’tara blurted.
Maha'vin
looked at Kayla and Kayla nodded. “Well, may our clan live strong,” Maha'vin
nodded to her. He looked back at Su’tara. “You stop beating up on your cousin.”
He started to scold her as they walked away.
Kayla
stood by the doors and watched Ne’el spar with Ba’naj. His ass was being
easy on me, Kayla thought as she watched him do moves she had never seen
before. She watched in amazement. He fought with so much passion. Ne’el didn’t
notice Kayla until he was done. He walked up to her. His breathing was hard. It
reminded her of their mating. “I was watching you fight,” Kayla said. “You were
being easy on me that night.”
“Of
course,” he trilled softly. “But I was still extremely impressed. What are you
doing here?”
“I just
took Su’tara for her checkup…”
“Kayla,”
he started to get slightly annoyed. “She doesn’t need a weekly checkup. If
something was wrong, don’t you think I will notice in the mornings when I see
her?”
“Pahel
knows more about the ooman analogy,” Kayla shrugged her shoulders. “Call it a
parent’s paranoia.”
“But
look at her. Su’tara's doing double tumblesets!”
Kayla
looked over at her and laughed. “I hope our son is that agile,” Kayla said
looking at her daughter.
“So you
want a boy someday?” Ne’el questioned as he moved closer to her. “I always
wanted my first child to be a boy.”
“Something
new I learned about you,” Kayla looked at him. “Even if it’s
half ooman?”
“If
that half comes from you Kayla I will be very pleased,” he purred softly. Kayla
took his hand and caressed it before placing it on her stomach. Ne’el removed
his hand as he made a confusing clicking noise Kayla had never heard before. He
proudly tapped his chest before placing his hand over her stomach. Maybe it was
due to circumstances in the past, but Ne’el displayed signs of extreme joy compared
to Ga’gan. His large hand practically covered her whole stomach. Kayla could
feel him purring softly. Ne’el pulled her close before rubbing on her cheek and
nibbling slightly on her neck. Like Pahel suggested she took his hand and
slowly bit down on the lower palm area. Ne’el groaned in delight, “Do that
again and I will take you here.”
“So you
are pleased with me having your child?”
“Very.”
“Lee’na
has really been trying Ne’el,” Kayla reminded him. “I don’t want to upset her.”
“My
Lee’na,” he sighed. “She mates with me even when she’s not in heat in hopes of
becoming pregnant. Let me talk to her. Give us some time alone tonight.” Kayla
nodded and started to walk over to get Su’tara but Ne’el stopped her. “What’s
wrong?”
“Nothing,”
she answered not looking at him.
“Don’t
lie to me,” Ne’el started to get angry. “I hate being lied to as much as I hate
being stared at.”
Kayla
turned to look at him. “Lately, well over the past month or so…” Kayla paused
because she felt completely foolish. “It bothers me just a little when you say
my Lee’na.” Kayla remembered the last time he said it something inside pained
her. She knew her feelings for Ne’el changed months ago, when they first mated.
Hearing him say ‘my Lee’na’ made her feel as though it was foolish of her to
even feel that way towards him. She knew then Ne’el would never care for her on
the same level as she cared for him. Kayla was about to walk away but he
grabbed her hand. Ne’el pulled her a little closer. He never told Kayla how he
felt and thought he never had to. He didn’t understand why she had to hear it.
Whenever they mated Kayla should have been fully aware of it.
“Well
she is my Lee’na,” he said as a matter of fact. “Just like
you’re my Kayla.”
“I am?”
“Of course.”
“Well I
never heard you say my Kayla,” she said looking at him.
“And
she never heard me say my Lee’na,” Ne’el said in annoyance.
“Oh,”
Kayla felt foolish. Ne’el bent down and nipped her neck.
“My
Kayla,” Ne’el growled softly in her ear. When Su’tara walked over he picked her
up and rubbed on Kayla’s back as they left the sparring hall.
Kayla
didn’t know what happened between Ne’el and Lee’na that night, but that next
morning Ne’el was in a foul mood and Lee’na was still in the bed. Kayla got up
when her daughter snuggled next to her. Su’tara’s human side of her loved to
sleep in late, but Lee’na never allowed her to. They got dressed and Kayla fed
Su’tara before checking on Lee’na.
“Lee’na,”
Kayla said softly as she sat next to her. “Are you alright?”
“I’m
not pregnant if that’s what you want to know,” she growled at her. Lee’na was
livid when Ne’el told her of the son Kayla was carrying. She attacked Ne’el in
anger last night but he refused to fight back with her. She could hear his
hurtful words. Grow up and stop acting so childish Lee’na. It doesn’t matter
that Kayla was able to conceive before you!
It
dawned on Kayla that their talk last night didn’t go so well. “If you need
anything,” Kayla stood up and looked at her. Without warning Lee’na lunged at
Kayla, knocking her on the floor.
“Su’tara,”
Ne’el said walking in. “Have you seen my medical tablet?”
On some
mornings, Su’tara would take Ne’el’s tablet and hide it from him so he could
come back to play with her. She laughed at him as he growled at her playfully.
Ne’el picked her up and tickled her sides.
“It’s
in my room,” she confessed.
“Where’s
your mom?”
“In the
room with Lee’na,” she said.
Ne’el
sat her down slowly. “Don’t move ok?”
He
quickly walked to the bedroom.
Kayla
was a stick fighter and not good with her fists. Lee’na was the opposite and
though they looked the same size, Lee’na was mostly muscle, making her body
heavier than Kayla’s. She pushed her off once but as she tried to stand Lee’na
attacked her again, this time grabbing one of Ne’el’s daggers. Kayla could only
think about her baby as she tried to protect her stomach and block Lee’na’s
blows. She couldn’t bear losing another child.
“Lee’na,”
Ne’el roared at her. He grabbed her hair causing her to howl in pain. “What the
hell is wrong with you!” He pushed her against the
wall forcing her to drop the dagger. He looked at Kayla whom appeared to be
shaken up. He watched her as she got up slowly.
“She
attacked me,” Kayla shook her head in disbelief. She didn’t know the females were
that jealous over who was pregnant first, being males could take on more than
one partner. She thought of how open Stef’na was and other females she talk to. None of them had a trace of jealousy like Lee’na
was displaying.
He
focused his attention back to Lee’na. “Did you just try to kill my child?” He
looked down at the dagger and back at her. Ne’el roared at her in anger. The
only thing he could think of was if Su’tara didn’t hide his tablet his baby and
Kayla could be dead.
“You
said it would only be me,” Lee’na yelled at him. “You said you would never take
on another mate! Then you told me you took her out of pity Ne’el! When did your
pity for that ooman change Ne’el? Was it when you touched her? You said the
sight of her repulsed you!”
“Pity,”
Kayla repeated softly as she looked at him. Ne’el turned to look at her.
“Kayla,”
he said as she walked quickly past them. Lee’na trilled softly. Ne’el pushed
Lee’na on the bed as her trill became a hardy laugh. He looked for her, but
neither she nor Su’tara was in their quarters. He called Ba’naj, Maha’vin and a
few other advisors to meet him in his quarters immediately. He walked back in
the room to see Lee’na sharpening her claws.
“Call
your mother,” he growled. Have her meet you here right now.”
Ne’el
paced in the foyer until everyone arrived. Everyone except,
Lee’na’s mother. Ne’el explained to them what happened.
“I
don’t see how you can keep her on as a mate after this Ne’el,” Ba’naj said.
“Her behavior is uncalled for and erratic. She could be a danger to Kayla,
Su’tara and your unborn child.”
“I did
tell her I would not take on another mate,” Ne’el looked at them. “To dismiss a
mate is unheard of.”
“Surly
you’re not thinking of keeping the crazy bitch around my niece,” Maha’vin
growled. “She can have it in for ooman's now and look who’s venerable. Su’tara.
Why didn’t Kayla kill her?”
“She
was blocking Lee’na and holding her stomach,” Ne’el crossed his arms. “I think
she was afraid of losing another baby.”
“Your
father will understand your decision,” another Yautja said to him. “Your status
will not change. You still have Kayla.”
“And if
you don’t want her I will surly accept her,” Ba’naj said. “Lee'na likes to
talk. There’s a lot of male Yautja’s on this ship whom is interested in seeing
this stimulation technique.” Ne’el growled in annoyance.
“How
can you take anymore mates Ba’naj,” Maha’vin chuckled. “You have three.”
“No one
is taking Kayla,” Ne’el barked.
“Whatever
decision you decide to make we will support it,” Maha’vin stood up. “As long as Lee’na is not around my niece.”
“Do you
want Lee’na?” Ne’el tried to joke with Ba’naj.
“No, I
like them feisty, not crazy,” he laughed. The doors opened. Everyone turned to
see Lee’na and her mother being walked in by two guards.
“A’jita,” Ne’el looked at her then her daughter. “Your
daughter attempted to kill my unborn child today. Do you deny this Lee’na?”
A’jita looked at her daughter in horror. “I
raised you to be the mate of an elder someday! Not become a killer Lee’na! A breeder!”
“I no
longer want to be mated to your daughter,” Ne’el growled. “Do you accept this
decision?”
“Mother
no,” Lee’na begged looking at her. She turned her attentions to Ne’el, “I mated
with you even when I wasn’t in heat! You mate with that ooman for a few months
and she’s pregnant with your child?”
“I
accept,” A’jita said, looking at her daughter. Lee’na
stared at her mother in horror.
Ne’el
looked at one of the guards. “Call one of the servants to come and gather all
of Lee’na’s belongings and send them down to the eta quarters. She will be
taking orders from the others in the laundry area for a year. At least I know
my child is safe with her there. Now go gossip about that Lee’na.”
“No
Ne’el, you can’t do this!” Lee’na yelled. He stared at her as one of the guards
took her away.
Ne’el
walked closer to her mother. “You and I live on the same area of the ship. Your
mate is a fine and outstanding warrior. Your children play with Su’tara. If any
harm comes to my family, your family will die!” Ne’el quickly grabbed the com
on the table and pressed a series of buttons before he spoke again. “If anyone
attempts to harm my family they will die!” He roared as he looked at her. Ne’el
threw the com against the wall.
“I
understand,” she bowed her head to him before leaving. A’jita
quickly left the room just in case Ne’el decided to make an example of her
entire family.
“Good
decision,” Ba’naj nodded.
“I will
see you all later,” Ne’el thanked them. “I need to find Kayla.”
Kayla
watched her daughter play as she sat alone and tried not to cry. She knew her
and Ne’el didn’t like each other in the beginning, but she didn’t know hearing
those words would hurt her so much. She told herself it was in the past, and
that it didn’t matter, but now she wondered whenever he looked at her was he
repulsed by her face or just tolerating her. She didn’t want to be anyone’s
pity case. Everyone stopped and looked at each other as Ne’el’s strong message
roared in everyone’s ears throughout the ship. The other females looked at
Kayla. She didn’t return their glances; instead she laid her head down on the
table.
Kayla
watched her daughter aggressively take an older males toy. “No Su’tara,” Kayla
said softly, “Give it back and apologize for your actions.”
Ne’el
watched as Su’tara did what she was told. When a large shadow appeared on the
wall in front of Kayla she knew Ne’el was behind her. “Come and talk to me
Kayla,” he spoke softly in the elder’s language. He realized Kayla didn’t
understand him and growled. He spoke again so she could understand.
“I
don’t want to talk to you at the moment,” Kayla quickly wiped her tears away.
He
grabbed a chair and sat in front of her. “Do you wish to discuss our business
here?”
“We
might as well,” Kayla said getting upset, “You just blurted it out to the whole
ship.”
“I was
protecting you. Just in case Lee’na has allies whom wish to retaliate for her,
against my family.”
“The
repulsive looking family you happen to take pity upon,” Kayla started to cry
again. “You know, when my father used to make me draw your species on paper so
I can get comfortable with the way you looked I never thought you were
repulsive. Yes a little odd looking, but never repulsive. You’ve been hunting
my kind for centuries, yet you see me as repulsive? Ne’el I don’t understand. A
lot of other males in your species have never said anything like that about me.
And some actually find me attractive including the males in your family.”
“I’ve
asked Ka’mya to watch Su’tara,” Ne’el said standing up. He reached his hand out
to her but Kayla refused.
“You’re
too repulsive,” Kayla cried. “If I were to take your hand it would be out of
pity. Doesn’t that hurt Ne’el?” He growled before lifting Kayla up into his
arms. Su’tara started to laugh thinking they were playing with each other. On
the way to their quarters Kayla buried her face in his neck and cried softly.
His purr was soothing, but for her it wasn’t enough. He laid her on the pillows
in the foyer that she liked so much and laid down behind her. Ne’el held her
close.
“Growing
up, we don’t learn to love the face of the object we hunt,” he purred in her
ear. “One of my best friends thought ooman's didn’t look so bad. He was
actually trusting of them. One of them looked innocent, but turned around and
killed him. I hated anything that wasn’t Yautja. That included you Kayla.”
He
rubbed his mandibles against her neck, but she stiffened up on him. “I’m not
going to lie. I said those words to Lee’na. I’ve been saying them ever since my
friend was killed in front of me because I was afraid of being weak. I never wanted
to let my guard down for you or any other species so I could get killed.” Kayla
turned to look at him.
“I
don’t care about your fears,” Kayla said. “I want to know what you see as soon
as you look at me. Not what you want me to be like. Do you like me? Do you care
or am I still pitiful to you?”
Ne’el caressed her face softly as he looked at
her. “I see someone so fragile and so different from me,” he said softly.
“She’s been hurt on so many occasions and now I just want that hurt to go away.
I just want to make her happy. I want her to know when my heart beats I think
of her. Her features that are so unlike mine, but I yearn to see them when I
wake up in the morning. I see her breastfeeding my son, although I may get a
little jealous.”
Kayla
tried not to smile. She tried to move away from him but he maneuvered himself
on top of her so she couldn’t move.
“Ne’el,”
Kayla protested as he held her hands above her head.
“I’m
not done. You wanted to know what I see so please, let me tell you.” She
struggled to get free but he held her tighter. Kayla stared at him. Ne’el bent
down to rub his cheek against hers, but Kayla didn’t respond to his affection.
“I see a female whom I didn’t think I could
care deeply for,” He growled softly in her ear. “I see Kayla, an ooman whose
heart beats in sync with mine when we mate and when she comes, her body shakes
against mine causing me to lose my self control. And for that one moment I feel
myself dying in her arms and becoming insane all at once. And when I come back
to my senses she’s there, staring at me with a look in her eyes that tells me
everything is ok. Now how can I not find her beautiful?”
Kayla
didn’t know how to respond. Her pulse raced with every word. “And you see all
of that every time you look at me?”
“And
more, in a flash,” he answered. “Sometimes I stare at you because my mind is
still processing everything. That’s why, sometimes, depending on my thought
process, I attack you.”
“Oh I
like those times,” Kayla smiled. “You do have soft, tender, enduring emotions.”
“Of
course,” he groaned as he nipped on her neck softly. “But a public display of
those types of emotions is a sign of weakness and insanity and this will be the
last time you will ever see me this weak in front of you.” He sat up and leaned
back against the pillows. Kayla sat up to lean on his chest. She could feel
Ne’el’s claws gently scrape up and down her arm. “This is so unproductive. I
must go do something.” He was about to get up but Kayla pushed him back down.
“Relax
with me, just for today,” Kayla begged. Ne’el sighed and looked at her before
nodding his head. “What are we going to do about Lee’na?”
“She’s
no longer my mate Kayla,” Ne’el sighed. “I assigned her to eta duties for a
year.”
“Ne’el,”
Kayla sat up to look at him but he pulled her back onto his body. Ne’el
explained to Kayla everything that happened.
“Your
punishment was kind of harsh wasn’t it?”
“I
don’t know any clan that would tolerate that type of jealousy. What do you wish
her punishment to be?”
“Your
decision is just fine,” Kayla moaned when he held her tighter. “I’m sure it
hurt you to make such a decision.”
“I will
not discuss my feelings for Lee’na with you,” he growled. Ne’el thought for a
moment as Kayla gave his arm a gentle squeeze. “It was painful to see her
attempt to kill you. At the moment I was more concerned about your well being
and my son’s rather than hers. I care for Lee’na, but in time my feelings will
go away.”
“I
know,” Kayla whispered. “Her eyes are beautiful.”
“So are
yours,” Ne’el tugged at her locks. “Why do you wear Kul’vir’s ring in your
hair?”
“He was
nervous during his mating. I gave him one of his grandfather’s rings in
exchange for his.” Ne’el tugged Kul’vir’s ring from Kayla’s hair and took out
one of his own to replace it.
“I
meant to give one to your father and Maha’vin,” Kayla sighed. “After all, the
rings do belong to their father.” Ne’el looked at them more closely. Each ring
told of a different battle like his. Kul’vir’s were still blank with his name
inscribed.
“That’s
honorable of you,” Ne’el spoke as he looked at each ring. “You've battled hard
meats. You need your own rings.” Kayla laid her head down on Ne’el’s chest. He
closed his eyes as he thought of the day’s events. Kayla smiled at how calm he
was. He was extremely still and his breathing slowed down. She kissed his arm
that was wrapped around her. His body started to emit a low vibrating sound.
Kayla bit him softly.
“If you
don’t stop I will force your legs open and do to you as I please,” he growled.
“I have only one mate now so that means you will have to satisfy me even more
so.”
Kayla
laughed at his demanding rant. “Females don’t have to mate if they’re not in
heat,” she reminded him. Kayla turned to look at Ne’el. His eyes were still
closed. He slowly opened them to look at her. “So what if I’m not in heat, what
would you do then?”
“For
some reason I don’t think I will have that problem. You go into heat every time
I walk out of the shower.” He laughed when she tugged at one of his locks.
“Someday I will feed you seba for half a day then take advantage of you all
night.”
“I’ve
done that before,” Kayla thought back to Kul’vir.
“Yes I
know, Ga’gan couldn’t handle you,” he laughed. “He told me Kul’vir had to
help.” Kayla looked at him and quickly looked away. He tilted her head back up.
“I will never share you and you will always be satisfied.”
“Jealous?”
Kayla teased.
“Of course not.”
“We
need to discuss Su’tara. She has asked about her father on several occasions…”
Ne’el suddenly stopped talking when he noticed Kayla’s pulse raced. “I listened
to how you avoid her questions. Ga’gan is no longer here and I wish for her to
refer to me as her father if it’s ok with you. She's a bright child and I’m
sure she will understand.”
Kayla
started to think of Kul’vir and how he purred the day he held her. She then
started to think about Maha’vin. Su’tara’s grandfather. “Can I think about it?”
she said softly.
Ne’el
nodded. “We will be close to my father’s ship soon. I thought we will go visit.
I also have to explain about Lee’na.” Kayla stood up and Ne’el looked at her.
“Where are you going?”
“All
this talk about Su’tara makes me want to check on her,” Kayla smiled. Ne’el
nodded and closed his eyes.
“I will
be in the bedroom waiting for you when you return,” he purred.
Kayla
didn’t know what to do. She knew she would have to say something sooner or
later. Just, not now. Not when everything was fine between them.
“Kayla,”
Maha'vin said walking towards her. They walked out of the sparring hall.
“I need
to talk to you,” Kayla said nervously. She walked to the elevators and he
followed.
“Do you
wish to talk in my quarters?” he questioned as he pressed the button to his
floor.
“If
Ka’mya isn’t there,” Kayla answered. Maha'vin stopped the elevator and looked
at her. Her heart was racing and he could see her tears. Kayla avoided his
stare.
“Is
this about Lee’na?”
“No.”
Maha’vin
crossed his arms and starred at her until she looked at him. “You know how I
respond to seba?”
“It
drives you crazy,” he chuckled.
“Ga’gan
urged me to take some to help Kul’vir and Stef’na…”
“For the ritual? I know.”
“After the ritual. To stimulate
Kul’vir enough to impregnate Stef'na. This was after I mated with
Ga’gan.”
“The
first time you mated with Ga’gan or after your mating ritual?” Maha'vin asked
getting confused. “Just jump to the damn point. What are you getting at?”
“Ga’gan
gave Kul’vir permission to pleasure me since he was too tired to do so,” Kayla
watched as Maha’vin started to laugh.
“Ga’gan
and Kul’vir are such children,” he laughed. “So let me get this straight. You
ate seba to help Kul'vir. Ga’gan mated with you afterwards but he was too tired
to finish? He didn’t give Kul’vir permission to complete the mating did he?”
“No,”
Kayla said softly. “But I held onto him and he accidentally finished.”
Maha'vin
shrugged his shoulders. “That’s not good Kayla, especially if he never asked
Ga’gan for forgiveness, but it’s in the past. Why are you mentioning all of
this now?”
Maha'vin
shook his head and pressed the button for the elevator to move. “You and
Kul'vir can keep that to your selves,” he chuckled. “I can’t believe that was
your reason for being so upset. It’s done and over.”
“Maha'vin,”
Kayla began. The elevator doors opened and Ka’mya was walking down the hall
with her son and Su’tara. When they turned around both of the kids ran towards
Maha’vin.
“Hi
Kayla,” Ka’mya walked up to her as Maha’vin swung each one in the air. “I was
just about to bring Su’tara to you.”
Maha'vin
looked at Su’tara and smiled. His smile slowly started to fade. He started
thinking about Kayla’s words. Right after her ritual she mated with Kul'vir,
he thought. During dinner Ga’gan announced she was pregnant. Maha'vin swung around to look at Kayla.
Kayla
looked back at him. The look in his eyes told her he knew what she was trying
to say. “My granddaughter,” Maha'vin said out loud as he looked at Kayla.
Ka’mya looked at him, not truly understanding what was going on. He looked at
Ka’mya. “Will you please take the children to play a while longer?” Ka’mya
nodded and reached for her son. When she reached for Su’tara Maha'vin stared at
his granddaughter before hugging her.
“Uncle,
what’s wrong?” she questioned.
“Nothing,”
he purred. He waited until they were out of sight before he turned to look at
Kayla. “Follow me.”
He
didn’t say anything to her until they reached his quarters and he locked the
door. “Who knows?”
“Sh’lok,”
Kayla said softly. “And Pahel confirmed it. I didn’t know until he explained
why Su’tara purred back at him. Ne’el wants to tell her about Ga’gan and asked
my permission for her to call him father. Do you now see why I had to tell
you?” Maha’vin roared at her and knocked over a chair.
“Do you
know how Ne’el will react?” Kayla shook her head yes. “Then keep your mouth
shut.” Maha'vin thought about how they never told Sa’tesh the truth about
Kul'vir. “I know what you’re going through. No one else has to know. I never
told my brother and Kul’vir don’t have to tell his. Since Sa’tesh doesn’t know,
Su’tara would have never been able to call me grandfather.”
“Ne’el
wants us to go visit his family,” Kayla bit her bottom lip softly before she
continued. “What if Kul’vir purrs?”
“Su’tara
is at the age of mimicking sounds,” he explained to her. “She can purr back at
anyone now.”
“I must
go, Ne’el is waiting for me.”
Kayla was about to walk out the door, but
Maha'vin continued, “I want to spend time with my granddaughter. Let her sleep
here tonight.”
“Ok,”
Kayla nodded.
When
she walked in Ne’el was waiting for her in the bedroom. He looked up from his
tablet and growled at her. When Kayla growled back he started to laugh.
“Su’tara sounds more threatening than you,” he teased. He reached his hand out
to her. Kayla walked over to him slowly, watching Ne’el look at her as though
he was studying her every move. She took his hand in hers and sat next to him.
He took
his claw and slowly ripped her dress. During the process his claws came into
contact with her skin, leaving welts across her body. Kayla came to enjoy the
pleasurable pain. “Sorry to keep you waiting.”
Ne’el
looked at her. Kayla’s clothes were ripped to pieces and hung from her waist.
“Where in the hell have you been?” Kayla stared at him for a moment. He stared
back at her with a hint of anger in his eyes.
“I had
seen Su’tara and I talked to Maha'vin, whom was playing with the kids,” Kayla
knew if she told the partial truth they couldn’t detect when she was lying. His
purr confirmed it. Kayla stood up and her dress fell to the floor. Ne’el
watched as the fabric fell from her body and groaned in delight.
“The
longer you take the rougher I will be,” he warned her as she stood there
watching him. Ne’el pulled the cover back for her. Kayla knew by now that Ne’el
would never harm her, but she knew she still had a lot to learn about him.
Sometimes, his dark uncaring manner in bed would slightly frighten her. One
moment she would hear drums and synch with his body in a passion filled moment.
Then, on rare occasions she knew he only had one thing in mind. Releasing himself deep inside her no matter what or how painful. His
eyes turned dark and his stare was intense. Kayla could tell his breathing
deepened and it was one of those times. Kayla could feel the moisture building
up in between her legs as she slowly sat next to him.
Ne’el
could hear her pulse racing and the hint of fear on her face. It made him want
her even more. To treat his mate like prey in the bedroom was his fetish. He
engaged in his fantasy with Lee’na whenever Kayla wasn’t around. Toying with
her body until he was tired and taking her any way he wished. He knew Kayla
enjoyed it as well. He could smell her. Ne’el grabbed Kayla’s neck, stroking it
as he made her lay down slowly. He looked at the welts on her body and
proceeded to make a few more. Kayla pushed his hand away making Ne’el growl at
her.
The
smell of fear drove him crazy. On his missions, when his prey started to fear
him he felt empowered and they were at his mercy. Whenever it comes from Kayla,
he felt the urge to impale her as far as he could go then wait until she begged
for him to fuck her. Of course whenever he was done he would give her what she
wanted, being held gently in his arms all night. Ne’el held her neck as he
inhaled the scent of sex and fear on her body. He groaned as he tasted her.
Kayla opened her legs wider for him, but he stopped. Ne’el didn’t feel like
waiting for what was already his.
“Ne’el,
I don’t think I’m wet enough,” Kayla gasped as he positioned himself in between
her legs. Ne’el bent down and bit her neck in a rough manner as he pushed
himself inside her. Her scream was deadened due to his teeth biting down hard
on her throat. Ne’el groaned as he pulled out and forced his way back inside
her. Her wetness made it easier. Kayla emitted a low throaty growl as she
clinched the sheets. He sat up slowly and looked at her. Ne’el tilted his head
to the side before placing his finger on her neck then to his mouth. He laughed
softly.
“So
you’re not completely ooman after all,” He growled. Ne’el wiped her neck and
held up his finger. “Next you will start to grow mandibles.”
Kayla
gasped and felt on her neck to see for herself. Her blood wasn’t as green as
theirs but it was no longer red. “I’m not going to grow mandibles am I?”
Ne’el
roared with laughter. Losing his erection he pulled out of her body and laid
back. He looked at her again and laughed. “Kayla, from a
doctors perspective, no. You will not grow mandibles, you silly ooman.”
Kayla sat on top of him and hit his chest. “You have adapted to our atmosphere,
of course it will change your blood. We can talk about this later.” Ne’el sat
up and looked at her.
“Remember
you asked me what will make me happy?” Kayla bit her lip.
“You
ready to tell me?”
“Don’t
leave me like Ga’gan did,” she said softly. He gave her a slow nod before
looking back into her eyes. “You didn’t pick out a mate for me did you?”
“Hell
no,” he growled. Ne’el tugged on her hair softly. “I’m not going anywhere, but
I need you to learn the other language Kayla. It’s vital that you learn this.”
Kayla shook her head. This wasn’t the first time he stopped their mating to
scold her about something.
Kayla
smiled as she thought about being in a position like Nam’rah’s. She wondered
would she be just as patient and understanding with others. Kayla looked at
Ne’el. “Ok,” she answered in the elder’s language.
