-Chapter Twenty One-
After witnessing the destruction of the Dark Diamond Raven had become unusually quiet. Her features mostly expressionless. Jack had been waiting for her to crack, waiting for her to show some sort of emotion whether it be rage or grief. However nothing was coming up to the surface.
He had let her go once it was clear to him that she wasn't going to do anything stupid, though he was keeping a close eye on her. He wasn't the only one either, Malone was also keeping a close eye upon his captain.
The Pearl had remained close to where the destruction had occurred, and had scooped out any survivors from the ocean once it was safe to do so. As a result the amount of two men were rescued from the sea, having managed to grab onto debris to save themselves.
Those survivors, including those that survived their battle with the Pearls crew were locked away in the brig. In total there were six men, seven if you included Willoughby. He was also locked up, though kept separate from the others in case he tried anything.
“Has she even moved?” Jack questioned Gibbs, who had been watching out over the deck while the survivors were placed into the brig.
“Nay. Not an inch. She been lookin' out there for quite a while now.” Came the answer.
Jack frowned, wondering if there was anything that could actually be done. His gaze went over to the place where Raven had been standing, looking to the floating remains of her ship. It had to be verging on for an hour since she had started it up.
Despite his better judgement he crossed the ship to where she stood, half leaning against the side. Her expression was still plain, though she was aware that she was no longer alone.
“What's to be done with the survivors?” She asked almost quietly.
“Willoughby is to get the traitors punishment, and the others are to be marooned.” Jack replied, at least the question asked showed that she was aware of the situation.
“Marooned? Is that the best you can come up with?” Her tone dropped into a cold one.
“It's the way it's always been lass, you should know that.”
Raven sighed and finally tore her gaze away from the edge of the ship, her sights landing upon Jack. She was working her jaw, though despite this she was still keeping her thoughts within herself rather than just saying what was on her mind.
“Raven....” He begun but was quickly cut off.
“Just don't Sparrow. I don't need you or anyone for tha' matter feelin' sorry for me.”
Jack worked his own jaw before giving a nod. Without another word he moved himself away, leaving her to keep her own company.

Later on the crew were called onto the deck, they stood in an almost military fashion while Jack made his way in front of them. Raven stood off to the side, as did Malone, Willy as well as Robert. Raven's expression was about as plain faced as it could possibly be.
For a time there was silence, each crew member just looking ahead towards Jack waiting for the reason they had been called.
A couple crew members who weren't standing with the others came up from below deck, in their presence was Willoughby, whose hands were shackled behind his back. The wig that he wore during the fighting was gone, leaving him showing his thinning ginger hair.
Despite his predicament he stood tall, not given into the surrender of being held captive. He was brought towards Jack, though the taller male didn't look towards him.
“Any last words before you're sentenced?” Jack duly asked the male.
The response was that of silence. The male too proud to say a word. His gaze just slid over towards where Raven stood, where he gave her an off smirk, knowing that he'd gotten the upper hand no matter what was about to happen to him.
“Willoughby. You are charged with commandeerin' a vessel of your own kin. You knowingly and willingly slew it's crew. You are to be hung in the traitor's means.” Jacks voice intoned. This was something he had rarely done.
A rope dangled freely down from the main mast, the bottom tied into that of a noose. Gibbs stepped forward and took hold of the noose, bringing to where Willoughby stood. Without looking into the mans face he slid it over his head, letting it hang about his neck, then stood back.
Without a further word Jack nodded to a couple of his men, who pulled at the other end of the rope. Giving a hard enough tug in order to pull Willoughby off his feet. Once he was a good couple of feet into the air the rope was tied up in order to keep him there. Through this means he suffered a slow suffocating death, his body twitched as he tried to somehow support himself.
Eventually the form of Willoughby stopped twitching, and his head drooped into an odd angle. He was left there however for two reasons, one was to make sure he was indeed dead, and the other was as a warning.
Jack couldn't help but cast a gaze over towards Raven as the man slowly parted from the world. Her lips were curled up into a cruel smile.

Willoughby's body was taken down further on in the day, and after his lifeless body was tossed into the ocean the Pearl had set sail once more. Their position had them not too far away from a small island, and from what they could tell through an eye glass was that it was inhabited. It meant that it was a perfect area to maroon the remaining survivors.
Jack had everything in mind on what was to be done. So they wouldn't go to far off course a lifeboat would be lowered, and the survivors would be taken so far near the island, before being dropped off. They would remain in shackles the whole time so they wouldn't pose any threat.
Because he felt that it might help give closure he decided that Raven should be on the boat, accompanied by Gibbs and another crew member. That way being the one to send them on their way might solve some of the tension about her.
So now he watched as the lifeboat was lowered down into the sea, the six men bunch together, while the others sat on the other end.
Gibbs had stated in so many words that he didn't think Raven should be on the boat, but despite his warnings Jack hadn't changed his mind. The first mate gave his captain an unsure look while the boat was lowered with a mild splash.
The boat was sent out and he watched for a while before bringing his attention back to the running of the ship. As far as he knew everything was going to plan.
That however was broken from the distant sound of gun fire, along with muffled yells. He darted over to the side of the ship to see what had happened. From what he could see there were two missing men from the boat, at least another was slumped against the side.
The boat rocked sharply, and the crew member that had been rowing it was getting up shifting so he could manoeuvre the remaining men into the ocean using an oar. Even at this distance he was able to hear yelling coming from the form of Raven, though what she was yelling was being muffled by the sea breeze. From what he could make out Gibbs had a hold on her while she struggled for release.
The moment the remaining survivors were gone the crew member was rowing the boat as quickly as possible back to the Pearl. The time for them passed slowly, which just made Jack anxious.
The action off the ship caught the attention of other crew members, as well as Malone who moved over to Jacks side.
“You shouldn't have let her go with them...” He remarked somewhat quietly. With the way that he spoke it suggested to Jack that he expected something to go wrong.
By the time the boat was being hauled up Gibbs was struggling to keep his hold on Raven.
“I need a hand 'ere!” He called out to the nearest of the crew.
“Let me go!!” She yelled, struggling so much that it made it hard for the boat to be hauled up properly. She thrashed about so much, that the moment the boat was in arms reach a couple crew members were reaching down to grab hold of her.
She promptly kicked out at one that tried to grab hold of her legs, catching him square in the stomach, knocking him with a groan onto the deck.
“Take her to the brig!” Jack barked out his orders, staying a clear distance from the wildly thrashing female.
