When Ga’gan walked in from sparring, he watch as Ne’el
played with his youngest son. “He looks just like you,” Ne’el nodded towards
Ga’gan. When Ga’gan walked up to him Ne’el gave him a hug.
“You hug me every time you see me Brother,” Ga’gan
laughed.
“I know,” he pushed Ga’gan away. “I bet Mother does the
same.”
“I am surprised she is not here.”
“So, have you forgiven Kul’vir yet?” Ne’el watched as
Ga’gan gave him a stern look. “He is our little brother Ga’gan. Surly it was an
accident like he said.”
“A beautiful accident indeed,” he sighed as he thought of
Su’tara. “Why does she not like me?”
“She has Kul’vir’s attitude,” Ne’el chuckled. “And you
know where he gets that from.”
“Father?”
For a moment Ne’el forgot about Ga’gan’s memory loss.
Every time they spoke he had to remind him and tell him things about their
past. “Maha’vin is Kul’vir’s father.”
“Kayla would not allow me to kill him because of it,” he
growled. “Yes I do remember.”
Ne’el gave him a moment to process the information.
“Su’tara had listened to stories about you and I think Kayla even told her
about the seba incidents. Her barrier was taken because a male gave her the
juice of several sebas. She does not understand why Kayla even likes you.”
Ga’gan nodded his head as Ne’el spoke. “Does Kul’vir‘s
mate know that Su’tara is his daughter?”
Ne’el shook his head no. Ga’gan grunted as memories came
back to him. He and Kul’vir used to hide all of Ne’el’s weapons whenever Ne’el
made them mad. “What is it?”
“We used to hide your weapons.”
“And I would beat both of your asses,” Ne’el laughed. “It
is good to have you back Ga’gan. If I knew there was any way you could have
survived I would have never left…”
“It is ok,” he shook his brothers shoulder. “I am well. My
mate took good care of me and I have no burn marks. My locks grew back very
quickly.”
“I will have new rings made for you. I insist, and maybe
the stories will help.” Ne’el was about to leave but Ga’gan stopped him.
“What should I do about Kayla?” Ga’gan told him everything
that happened.
“I honestly do not know,” Ne’el rested his hand on his
dagger. “She has every right to ask you to leave your mate. Do you know she
asked Sh’lok the same question?” Ga’gan eyes widened. By his expression of
shock Ne’el assumed he didn’t know. “I think she is testing you both. She is
such a female. I like her now. She has done a glorious thing for our species
and Su’tara is beautiful, is she not?”
“To be Kul’vir’s daughter, yes she is,” Ga’gan growled.
Ga’gan stepped off the ship slowly. He surveyed the
surroundings of his father’s second ship before walking up to a guard. “I am
Ga’gan. Take me to Su’tara. The guard nodded and walked him to her quarters.
Ga’gan looked around and smiled. It was like Kayla to have
things lying around that reminded her of her planet. The greenery cooled the
room. He looked around for Su’tara, but she wasn’t there. He decided to sit and
wait.
“Ga’gan?” Ta’noj nodded as he walked in.
“Are you Kayla’s youngest child?” he stood up and shook
his shoulder.
“You are not here to tell my sister the truth are you?”
Ta’noj growled. Ga’gan growled in return but was impressed when Ta’noj slowly
clinched his fist and continued to stare at him.
“You have your mothers’ eyes,” he noted. “I do not wish to
tell her the truth. It is not my place to do such.”
After relaxing a bit, Ta’noj explained to him in a low
voice how Su’tara despised Kul’vir. They both turned and looked at the door as
she walked in. Su’tara stared at Ga’gan for a moment. “Hello,” she finally said
in a flat tone.
Ga’gan walked closer to her. She emitted a low growl and
he trilled softly.
“I would like to get to know you better,” he nodded to
her.
“Sure Father,” she said sarcastically as she crossed her
arms. “What do you wish to know?” He looked over at Ta’noj and he left the
room.
“You are nothing like me,” he said staring at her.
“That’s what I try to tell everyone,” she barked. “I am
glad you noticed.”
“Tell me about your life,” Ga’gan sat down. “I want to
hear all about you Su’tara. Do you have a mate?”
“Potential,” she hesitated before sitting down slowly.
“May I meet him someday?”
“My father already has,” she snapped. “You know, Sh’lok.”
“I am not trying to replace the only male you ever known
as your father,” he tried to explain. “There is no way I can. I do wish to be a
part of your life. You can call me Ga’gan if you like.”
“Thank you,” Su’tara
nodded. She stared at him carefully as he talked. He almost reminded her of Ne’el
and she really liked him. Su’tara thought for a moment that maybe she could
like Ga’gan as well. Su’tara felt comfortable enough to share a meal with him
and he enjoyed every moment. When she laughed it actually warmed him. He only
wished she were his daughter.
“So Kul’vir does not like Lo’kesh?” he questioned, pushing
his plate away.
Su’tara shook her head no and growled. “I do not like him.
He said if I were his daughter he would forbid me from seeing him.”
“What did you say in return?”
“If I were his daughter I would join another clan,” she
stood up and stretched. “If I never see him again it would be too soon.”
Ga’gan laughed at her. “That is one of your mother
sayings.”
Su’tara stared at him with great concern. “I know the
rules and I know our family is having some problems, but you are not going to
take our mother away are you?”
Ga’gan stood up and touched her face. “I would never take
your mother away from you. I would move onto this ship if she decides to be
with me.”
“You are allowing her to make the decision?” Su’tara
thought that the decision was finial and the male always made it.
“She has a family, as do I. It is her decision to make.”
He purred softly when she smiled at him. “Introduce me to your potential.”
“Well he is easy to find. Mother has him confined to his
room for a month.” Su’tara explained as they walked to Lo’kesh’s room.
Kayla stood outside Lo’kesh‘s door before nodding to the
guards to open it. When she walked in Lo’kesh looked at her and growled. He
tried to control his emotions, but he felt humiliated and wronged for being
imprisoned in his quarters.
“It has been three weeks,” he barked. “What have I done
wrong? Please tell me so I can rectify my actions.”
“Shra’van thought I should talk to you,” Kayla sat down.
She waited until he sat across from her. Kayla handed him a tablet. “These are
the hunts you missed.”
“You are rubbing it in?” he questioned. Lo’kesh figured
Sh’lok to be harsher than Kayla, but he could see he was wrong. “You told me
never say never…”
“I have no problem with you being with my daughter,” Kayla
snapped. “You would make a wonderful mate.”
“Is it my age?”
Kayla was silent. She thought he was the same age as her
children. He answered her confused look and she gasped. “I did not know you
were that old.”
“I am not old,” he grunted as he looked at the tablet. He
registered confusion at first. “Is this correct? There were casualties? We have
never had so many causalities.”
“Lo’kesh, despite what you think of me I did not resort to
trickery with the Jafren,” Kayla scooted closer to him. “They helped because of
my honesty. They helped you because I think they like you.”
“Helped me?” He shook his head in confusion.
Kayla explained everything that happened. He leaned back
in the chair and stared at her. He felt a chill as she talked.
“They are saving my life?” he questioned.
“Yes,” Kayla nodded. “Do you see why I confined you? My
daughter cannot bear losing you right now. The Jafren knew this. They seemed to
know a lot about the future.”
“If I promise not to go hunting for the remainder of the
weeks will you end my confinement?” Lo’kesh had terrible memories of being
confined as a child. During the past couple of weeks he meditated more than he
ever had in years just to keep his sanity.
“You are free of your confinement,” Kayla touched his
hand. “If you understand that you cannot go hunting.”
When Kayla stood up he stood as well. ”If you told me this
before, I would have listened to you.”
“Shra’van said the same thing,” she smiled. “And I am
sorry.” Lo’kesh touched her shoulder and nodded before turning to see Su’tara
walk in with Ga’gan.
“Mother?” Su’tara hugged her. “I am still upset with you.”
“Don’t be, he is no longer confined to his room.” Kayla
looked at Ga’gan for a moment. She nodded before walking past him but he
stopped her. When she looked into his eyes her pulse started to race. Lo’kesh
and Ga’gan could tell she was nervous and excited.
“Who is he to your mother?” Lo’kesh whispered.
“Her mate,” she whispered back. “I will explain everything
later.”
“Wait for me on the docks,” Ga’gan talked low in her ear.
“We can take a ship back together.” Kayla nodded before walking out.
Ga’gan walked closer to Lo’kesh. They exchanged nods
before Su’tara introduced him. “Lo’kesh, this is my father, Ga’gan.” Su’tara
looked at Ga’gan whom was shocked that she even acknowledged him as her father.
Her acceptance of him fueled his anger for his brother.
Kayla paced back and forth on the ship, waiting for Ga’gan
to arrive. She wanted to know what he was doing with Su’tara. Was this his way
of telling her he finally made a decision? She knew what Sh’lok‘s decision was
going to be. Since he walked out on her she rarely seen him and when she did he
was with Nam’rah or helping with the repairs. When he looked at her he wouldn’t
even acknowledge her presence with a nod. She thought of Lex words. She feared
Nam’rah was wrong and maybe Lex was right. Kayla could very well lose both of
them.
Ga’gan didn’t say anything to her as he walked on the ship
and closed the doors.
“Did you tell Su’tara?” Kayla questioned.
“Of course not.” He didn’t turn around and talk to her
until they took off. “It will be about an hour,” he nodded. The three ships
were so large it took at least an hour to go to each one.
“I know.” She swallowed hard as he slowly walked up to
her.
Ga’gan caressed his cheek softly against hers. “I left a
note on Ne’el’s ship saying to you it did not matter if she was mine or not. I
still mean that. Su’tara is my daughter. I just wish to punish Kul’vir a bit
longer.”
“She will grow to like you Ga’gan. Spend more time with
her.”
Ga’gan nodded before letting out a deep growl. “If you
want me why are you playing games?” Kayla stepped back and looked at him. “I
know you asked Sh’lok the same question.”
“I already know his answer,” Kayla stepped away from him
and walked towards one of the windows.
Ga’gan suddenly had memories of her standing in front of a
window. Like his memories, Ga’gan stepped closer to her, wrapping his arms
around her body as he purred deeply. He held her for a while and Kayla didn’t
speak. She closed her eyes and leaned back on his warm chest. “You used to
reluctantly hold me this way if you thought I was troubled.”
Ga’gan grunted before responding, “Your body is that
familiar touch I yearned for, for so many years.” He growled in her ear and
Kayla smiled. “Your laugh and that feeling of first mating with you, is what
wakes me up in the middle of the night to pleasure my mate. You are a dream I
thought I would never live.” Ga’gan turned Kayla around.
“I mourned for you for so long,” Kayla whispered. “If it
were not for Sh’lok…” Her words drifted off.
“I remember wanting to take you to the pyramids,” he
chuckled. “Did you go with Sh’lok?”
Kayla nodded yes. Ga’gan released his grip on her arms and
looked at her sadly.
“You care for him deeply.”
Again, Kayla nodded, not being able to look into his eyes.
“I too remember the day you told me you cared for me…”
“Ga’gan, don’t leave your mate,” Kayla blurted. “I will
always care for you, but I will never leave Sh’lok.”
He chuckled softly, “And I will never leave Na’lam. I care
for you, but everything I had with you was in the past. You being here just
completed my dreams. Now I too can move on. I thought about it and as much as
you completed me, my life would not be the same without her.” He checked the
controls to make sure the ship would land properly. Ga’gan walked back over to
her.
“I will still see you,” Kayla smiled. “I am very close to
your mother. She is almost like a mother to me. And I visit Lex whenever I
can.”
“And every time I see you I may groan, but completely
ignore it,” he teased. When the ship made a soft thump he held her steady by
the waist. Kayla instinctively gave Ga’gan a hug. She could hear him click his
mandibles softly before hugging her back.
“Besides, you are far too touchy for me,” he joked. Kayla
laughed and hit his shoulder. She touched his face and smiled. Neither one
noticed the doors open, but they noticed Sh’lok staring at them. Kayla didn’t
know how long he was standing there or what he had seen, but the look of anger
and disappointment tore her apart. He walked away, even when Kayla called his
name.
“Maybe you should go after him,” Ga’gan urged.
Kayla shook her head no before walking off in another
direction.
Sh’lok stopped talking to Ba’naj as his son walked over to
him. “I am concerned about Mother,” he nodded to Ba’naj.
“Kayla?” Ba’naj questioned.
“That is the only mother I have,” Shra’van growled. “It
was completely disrespectful for me to call Lee’na, Mother.”
Sh’lok looked at him carefully. He wondered if his son was
up to another trick. He noticed him visiting his mother on occasion and even
leaving her quarters laughing. “Since, when has this sudden concern come about for your, mother?” Sh’lok folded his arms.
Ba’naj was going to excuse himself, but he too was curious about his answer.
“Mother and I have come to an understanding,” Shra’van
explained. “Our relationship is better, but enough about me…”
Sh’lok looked at Ba’naj and he excused himself. He turned
his attentions back to his son. “Speak.”
“I have nothing to say,” Shra’van shrugged his shoulders.
“Just fix our family Father. I have done my part.” He thought of smacking his
son for being so smug. Then he thought, he really wanted to smack him for
telling the truth. Sh’lok made his decision long ago. He wanted to tell her
when she was on the docks a couple of weeks ago, but she too looked as though
she already made her decision. He watched Kayla as she laughed. She found peace
in Ga’gans’ arms. Sh’lok injured several men that day during sparring. He
patted Shra’van's shoulder before walking away.
Kayla laughed as Lex tried to teach one of her grandchildren
patty cake. “You may be a grandma soon,” Lex teased. “Su’tara has a potential,
and Shra’van is still trying to prove himself to my daughter.”
“You know if she decides to move on our ship I will take
very good care of her,” Kayla assured her. “Lex they are so young.”
“They are both of age in human years,” Lex tickled her
granddaughter before looking at Kayla. “It is their instinctive human side that
inspires them to advance quicker than their peers.” They both looked up when
Sh’lok walked in. Kayla looked at him in shock. “Ok so I will see you later.”
Lex smiled at her before leaving.
Sh’lok sat next to Kayla, not saying anything for a moment
and listening to her pulse racing. “I was completely torn when I saw you with
Ga’gan.” He looked at her. “Is that how you feel when you see me with Lee’na?”
“Only when I don’t receive the same affection,” Kayla
touched his shoulder and he grunted.
“I do not think your mate
will like you touching me.”
“My mate?” Kayla repeated.
“Kayla I made the decision to have Lee’na live with her
parents or in another quarter on the same floor as us,” he blurted. “I will
still care for her and the baby. You, the kids and I may have to join another
clan, but I do not mind doing that for you. I do not want to loose you. I was going
to talk to her about this after I spoke with you, but that’s when I saw you and
Ga’gan together.”
“Saying goodbye,” Kayla smiled. “I told him I could never
leave you. And I do not wish for you to give up your relationship with Lee’na.
It was a stupid test and extremely childish of me.” Sh’lok wrapped his arms
around her and purred. He knew all along. Nam’rah told him weeks ago.
Nam’rah explained to him how Kayla needed to make the
decision. She had to see for herself that Ga’gan was happy and she could not
bear living without Sh’lok. Besides, she did not wish to see her sons fight. He
was telling Kayla the truth. He would leave Lee’na for her.
“I thought you chose to be with Lee’na,” she cried. “You
would not talk to me.”
Sh’lok lifted her up and silently carried her to the
bedroom. He touched her cheek softly before walking away. “Please don’t go,”
Kayla blurted.
Sh’lok went to lock the door. When he returned to the room
Kayla looked up in shock. “I went to lock the door,” his breathing was heavy as
he approached her slowly. With every step, he could smell Kayla’s excitement.
It felt like years since he had her. Sh’lok looked down at her trembling body.
“What I am going to do to you, I did not want anyone walking in on us.” Before
she could reply he ripped her dress off with his claws fully extended. He
hadn’t seen Kayla naked in so long, he roared in excitement.
Kayla stared into his eyes. Her body ached for Sh’lok. She
stepped closer to him. He stared down at her as she removed his cloth. Kayla
thought of the pill and went to the dresser. She looked at it for a moment
before swallowing. She stood there for a moment and smiled when she heard
Sh’lok’s rugged breathing. He was coming closer to her. Kayla moaned loudly
when she felt Sh’lok‘s body pressed against hers.
“Have you mated with him?” his raspy voice vibrated
against her neck. Before she could answer, he bent down to spread her legs
open. Sh’lok went down on his knees slowly, sniffing her body for anything
unfamiliar to him. Kayla gripped his hands that held her legs apart when she
felt his tongue on her thighs. His thick tongue met much resistance in her
opening. Kayla screamed from the instant orgasm. She forgot how good his tongue
felt down there. Sh’lok groaned from her instant pleasure. He wanted more.
Kayla could feel him squeezing harder on her thighs, trying to open them wider
so his tongue could go in deeper. She screamed again as she felt the tip of his
tongue gently flick and probe at her womb. Kayla felt dizzy. After a while
Sh’lok stood up and held her limp body close to him.
“There is much more to come, my mate,” He murmured in
between his heavy breathing and hard nips on the back of her tender neck.
Sh’lok carried her over to the bed and laid her down. He got on his knees and
pulled her body down, closer to his hardness. She felt snug with his tongue
inside her and trembled at the thought of him being buried deep in his Kayla.
He held her thighs tight so she couldn’t run away from what he was about to do.
He could feel her body shake as the tip gently played with her sex. They stared at one another for a long moment.
He thought the day he first seen her she wouldn’t last on the ship longer than
a month. Now he couldn’t see himself not living without her. He cared for
Lee’na, but with Kayla it was something deeper. For Sh’lok the only thing he
could compare it to would be his love of hunting. He watched her face contort
into extreme shock as he pushed himself inside her body. When he leaned his
head back and roared he could hear her scream.
Sh’lok roughly lifted her
up, never taking his eyes off of hers. “Kayla,” he pounded into her body. Kayla
shook her head as she cried from the pleasure and the pain that seemed to last
forever. For the first time Sh’lok bent down and bit her so hard he could taste
her blood in his mouth. This sensation took him to new heights as he bit down
harder and listened to her scream. The sensation was far too great for Sh’lok
and he knew he wouldn’t be able to take her vaginal stroking much longer. The
intensity felt the same as when he mated with her for the first time. He
grabbed Kayla and held her in a bear hug as he pounded his way to a blissful
sensation.
Kayla opened her eyes slowly. For a moment she thought her
mating with Sh’lok was just a dream, until she felt his arm go around her body
and pull her closer to him. She smiled. For those few hours with him it felt
like he was all hers. She almost felt guilty because Lee’na wasn’t around.
“Where is Lee’na?”
“She is being closely watched by her parents,” Sh’lok
played with Kayla’s breast before rolling her over on her back. Kayla smiled
because she could feel his body and could tell he wanted more. “The pregnancy
is hard on her.” Kayla noticed his face registered great concern.
“What’s the matter?”
“You can still act upon mating with Ba’naj,” he spoke in a
low tone.
“I do not wish to mate with Ba’naj,” Kayla smiled when he
grabbed her by the waist, holding her close to him. “He says to avoid jealousy
with his mates he can smell their scent before they walk in a room. He never
holds one with the other looking.”
“Older males’ senses are far better than younger males,”
he explained. “Ba’naj is at least four hundred or so. He can smell where each
of his mates is on a ship. He can smell his next meal. Ba’naj can smell a fight
in another room. He can smell time…”
“Ok I get it,” Kayla laughed. “You too better learn.”
“It will come in time,” he trilled softly. “Until then,
remember that I care deeply for you. That will never change.” He touched her wound.
Luckily enough for him every room on this ship carried emergency medical kits,
just in case the mating became a little rough. He was able to apply pressure on
Kayla's wound and stop the bleeding.
“Maybe you should check on Lee’na, since she is having
complications…”
“She will be at the
ceremonial party.” Kayla gave him a puzzled look. “We are almost done with the
upgrades. There will be a party on Sa’tesh ship. It will be the elders, their
family and the continuing leaders of the other ship.” He trilled softly.
“Us?” Kayla chuckled.
“He thinks we are doing a good job under the watchful eye
of the counsel.”
“Elder Sh’lok,” Kayla teased as she sat on top of his
body.
“That does have a nice ring to it,” he groaned as she
started to gently stroke him. He removed her hand and sat up. “I am hungry.”
“Shra’van and I usually have our evening meal together…”
Sh’lok clicked his mandibles in amazement. “What happened
between you and Shra’van? He actually defended you and I see him leaving your
room laughing.”
“He’s my baby again,” Kayla laughed. “He has chosen to
take Em’mi, but she is testing him.”
“But Em’mi looks like Su’tara,” Sh’lok shook his head. “He
likes ooman’s now?”
Kayla snuggled into Sh’lok arms and told him about
everything that transpired between Shra’van and herself. He laughed and grunted
as Kayla attempted her best to sound like her son.
