Chapter Twenty Caleb hurried downstairs Saturday morning, intending to get breakfast done quickly so he could spend the day with Sarah as promised. Later on, they planned to have lunch with Madison and her father, as well as the other Sons. Evelyn Danvers was already at the table, sipping her morning coffee. “Hello, darling.” “Good morning, Mother,” Caleb replied. “You will give my best to Aaron Marish for me, won’t you?” “Sure.” They sat eating in silence for a minutes with Evelyn glancing at her son in hesitation. “You have something to say, Mother,” Caleb stated. “I can tell.” Evelyn sighed. “Well, yes, I suppose I might as well discuss this with you.” “Go on.” “Last week, at our mothers’ meeting, we had a very interesting subject come up.” “Oh?” Evelyn nodded. “You see, Tyler brought Madison over to the Simms’ home last week and Chloe Simms made an observation that caused her concern.” “Observation?” “She feels, perhaps, that Tyler has become too smitten with Madison.” Caleb laughed, almost choking on his juice. “That’s an understatement.” Then he shrugged. “It’s natural, Mother, considering the whole witch - warlock attraction.” Evelyn gazed at her Son with a serious expression. “Caleb, you do know that he could never marry her, don’t you? None of you can.” Caleb set down his fork. She had his full attention now. What was this about? “You wanted to bring her here so badly, but, now, she’s not good enough for us?” He couldn’t hide the anger in his tone. “No, No, darling, that’s not it at all!” “What then?” “You boys need to have sons, and she needs daughters. Your cousin, Mark, thinks that all daughters from a witch will carry the blood, not just the first born. That means Madison can raise multiple witches for the next generation.” “And? Are you saying the Sons are unable to produce female offspring?” Evelyn shook her head. “I’m not saying that, Caleb. Of course you are capable of having daughters. But, think about it. If one of you married Madison, and she gave you your first born son and also produced a daughter who was a witch - who would my grandson have relations with in order not to age prematurely? His sister? Do you see the problem? Madison must marry someone other than a Son of Ipswich.” Caleb sat staring at his mother for a few moments. He had never thought that far ahead. They had not even went to college yet. But as usual, the mothers always looked ahead. Tyler certainly wouldn’t like that news. Caleb didn’t even like it. Someone else with Madi? Caleb ran his hand over his face. “You tell Chloe Simms she can tell Tyler herself. I won’t do her dirty work.” “Darling…” Now Caleb was in a bad mood. “Who, Mother? Who in their right mind would let their wife sleep with four other guys for the rest of her life? Who’s going to allow their wife to do that? What kind of life is that for Madison - sneaking out to meet us, trying to hide four relationships from her husband? At least the Sons would only have one extra lover to hide from their wives. Madison would have to hide four.” “We already discussed that as well.” “Oh, and what else did you four decide about our lives?” “Darling, don’t be so hostile. Someone has to think of these things. You boys certainly don’t look beyond the next year. As for Madison’s husband - we think it would best if it was an arranged marriage - someone who would understand the situation, someone who is a relative at least twice removed. This way he would be aware of her need to have relations with the four of you.” “I suppose we’d have to pay him off well for the privilege of screwing his wife.” “Caleb, don’t be so crude. He would be her husband and the father of her children. And, yes, we would make sure he has plenty of successful business enterprises to keep him wealthy and busy. So, someone ambitious may be persuaded.” “I suppose you four already have someone in mind?” “I was thinking of Joshua Danvers. He‘s in Harvard Law right now and seems very ambitious…” “He’s already engaged, Mother. He introduced her at Thanksgiving. Remember?” “Engagements can be broken.” Caleb grunted in disgust. “Really, Mother? You’d ask him to dump someone he wants to marry, for an arranged marriage?” “You underestimate some people’s ambitions, Caleb. It doesn’t hurt to make him an offer.” “Shouldn’t this be up to Madison? Do you think she’ll be happy with a bought husband?” “What are the alternatives, Caleb? Being a single mom? Letting her get impregnated by different men and sending them off? Having her find a husband on her own that she’ll have to constantly lie to? At least with our plan, she’ll have a successful husband who accepts who she is and what she needs to do with the four of you. She’ll have a respectable family and only one man who fathers all her children.” “What about love?” “Does she not have that already?” Caleb stared at his mother, hating that she made sense. “Yes, she does.” He loved her. They all loved her. He stood up and went to the window, looking over the pond. “She doesn’t need to think about these things yet. I don’t want you and your friends telling her about arranged marriages. And let Tyler be happy for now. They still have high school to finish - and college. So, no marriage plans for at least five years.” “Joshua is already 23 darling.” Caleb turned his head, giving her a sharp look. “Then he can wait until he’s 28. Madison will finish college.” Evelyn nodded. “Of course, we’ll do it your way, Caleb. You’re the head of the families now.” OOOOOOO Aaron Marish had a very successful afternoon. With the help of the realtor, Mark Anderson, he and Madison had only spent a few hours of touring rentals before deciding on a very cute cottage on the edge of Ipswich. It wasn’t very big, but it would do until Marish House was ready. And Aaron didn’t feel he needed such a big place since Madison would be staying in the dorms most of the time. They had a pleasant lunch downtown with Madison’s friends and Aaron was pleased with the nice young man she had introduced as her boyfriend. He decided to head back to Boston that afternoon and begin planning the move. “So you’re just going have the movers pack everything up and then come back, right?” Madison asked. “Mads, I need to give two weeks notice at work and then find the moving company first. Maybe we can move here before the new year…” “What!” Madison exclaimed. No no no no no. That would be too late. Winter break was only a week away. She didn’t want to go back to Boston at all. She didn’t want to have to face Chase there if she could help it. She was weak there - in that concrete jungle. “What’s the matter? Don’t you want to have one last Christmas in the old house?” “No! I don’t! Dad, I wanted to have Christmas here - with my friends.” “There’s a lot to do, Madi. Packing takes time and you need to go through all your old stuff while we’re there and figure out what you want to keep. And besides, Raina and Ben will want to see you.” “I know… but…” Aaron shook his head. “I’m sorry, sweetie, but New Year’s is the best I can do.” Madison felt sick inside as Aaron dropped her off in front of her school. She had a week to be ready for Chase and she wasn’t sure she’d be able to handle it. As she turned to go back to the dorms, she heard the sound of a motorcycle behind her. When she glanced over her shoulder, she saw Pogue stopped where her dad had just been a few minutes before. He grinned at her and scooted forward on his bike. “Come on, Madi, let’s go watch the sunset.” She couldn’t help but grin. This was just what she needed at that moment - a distraction. And if anyone could make her forget her troubles, it was Pogue. Pogue took her out of Ipswich and toward a hilltop. Madison held on tight as they headed uphill in order to get a good western view. Already she was distracted by the feel of Pogue’s body and she moved her hands over his firm chest and abs. She felt him suck in his breath when her hands dipped lower over his erection, making her smile. He sped quickly to the top of the hill, barely able to stand her teasing. When he reached the top, he pulled over and turned off the motorcycle. Pogue swiftly turned and dragged her off the bike, placing her in front of him. Madison laughed at the move and straddled his bike backwards , facing him. They immediately began making out, hands roaming everywhere over their clothing. Hardly aware of the setting sun, their hands slipped under their shirts, exploring as their mouths devoured each other. Madison couldn’t get enough of him as she wrapped her legs around his waist, pushing herself up and onto his lap, rubbing herself onto his hard bulge. The sound of tires on gravel, alerted them that they were no longer alone, and they unlocked their lips to catch their breath. Glancing sideways they noticed a police car slowing down and stopping nearby. “Shit,” Madison whispered. “This isn’t illegal, is it?” Pogue laughed. “No. Don’t worry. He’s a relative.” The officer came out of the car and walked toward them. “Pogue, everything all right? You didn’t have a breakdown, did you?” “Are you serious, Uncle Steve? Can’t you see what I’m doing?” Pogue laughed. Madison, who was a bit embarrassed at being caught straddling Pogue, had kept her face tucked to his chest. She finally dared turning her face toward Pogue’s uncle. Officer Parry stopped in his tracks when he saw the striking green eyes of the girl. “Is that the Marish girl?” he asked, hesitantly. “Madison, this is Steven Parry, my uncle. Uncle, this is Madison Marish,” Pogue introduced. Madison held out her hand, but Officer Parry would not come any closer. He looked at her hand, then back at her face with indecision. “I… well… I’ve had a cold lately. Don’t want to get you sick.” Madison lowered her hand, thinking it strange that Pogue’s uncle seemed… well… afraid of her. What in the world? Pogue didn’t seem very pleased at his rudeness. “Look, Uncle Steve, we’re a bit busy here…” Officer Parry nodded. “Of course. You two have a good evening.” He hurried back to his police car, driving off quickly as they watched. “What was his problem?” Madison asked. “Don’t worry about it, Madi. It’s just that… some of the family… they’re kind of scared of you.” “Of me?” she laughed. “You four can do way more damage than I ever can.” Pogue shrugged. “You don’t know all your powers yet. You see, the families are use to warlocks. They know what to expect with us. They also have heard that your powers are different. Some of them think witches can put curses on them. They just don’t know enough about you yet.” “That’s probably why they use to burn the witches - because they feared them.” Pogue took her chin in his fingers and turned her face toward his. “Listen to me. You are safe with us, Madi. All of them know that they better not mess with you. None of them want four angry warlocks after them.” “I know, but I don’t want anyone thinking of me as some evil witch.” “It’s only a small number of them. Most of them know better.” Madison nodded. She hoped they got over their fears soon. Pogue tightened his hold on her. “Stop worrying so much. Hey, let’s stay at my house tonight, yeah? My mom is dying to meet you.” “She won’t be scared of me?” Pogue laughed. “After marrying my dad and raising a warlock son? Are you kidding?” OOOOOO Caleb walked Sarah back to her dorm room in the evening, stopping just outside the door. Sarah turned in the open doorway, waiting for him to come in. But Caleb didn’t enter. “What is that awful smell, Sarah?” he asked, backing up as the horrid fumes hit him from her room. “What smell?” Sarah asked, perplexed. “You’re kidding, right? Ugh, it’s making my eyes water it’s so strong.” Her expression changed to one of understanding. “Oh! I forgot!” She rushed into her room, shut the bathroom door and came back to the hallway. “Sorry about that.” “Sorry about what? You have a dead body in your bathroom?” “No,” she laughed. “It’s a project I’m working on. And thanks to you, I know it’s got a chance of working.” Caleb held his nose and leaned against the far wall. “What the fuck is it?” “It’s Rue - a herb, otherwise known as Witches Bane. That’s why only you can smell it.” “Witches Bane? If you wanted to get rid of me, you could have just told me.” “It’s not for you. It’s for Madison.” “What the fuck, Sarah?” Caleb frowned. “What do you have against Madi?” “No, I didn’t mean it that way. Madison wanted me to help her with it, because she couldn’t do the project, obviously.” “Why would Madison want anything to do with Witches Bane?” “She’s trying to find something to weaken Chase. You know I’ve been helping her research it.” Caleb sighed. He didn’t understand why Madi didn’t trust in him to defeat Chase, and yes, it bothered him. Why did she fear someone she had never met? “How, exactly, does the stuff work?” “I’m soaking hemp ropes in a solution of Rue and water. When the ropes dry, we are hoping they prevent a warlock from using his powers when tied with them.” “If the smell doesn’t kill him first,” Caleb frowned. “How does she plan on tying up a fully ascended warlock? Has she thought about that?” “I suppose that’s where you would come in. If you could disable or knock him out for a few minutes, it may be enough time to tie him up and make him powerless.” “And how would we even know it would work?” “We would need to test it out on someone first?” “Someone?” he smiled. “I suppose there is only one someone as powerful as Chase around here.” “Would you?” “Will it stink this bad when it’s dried?” “Probably not.” Caleb sighed and kissed her cheek. “Fine.” He shook his head and laughed before walking away. OOOOOO Madison gawked as she looked about Pogue’s huge room at his family home. It was more like four bedrooms put together with a sunken Jacuzzi in the middle of the floor. “This is wild,” she awed. “I don’t know why you want to live in the dorms.” “I don’t always get along with my mom - not since my dad died,” he said, shutting the door. “She seems sweet.” “Yeah, to you. We get along as long as we don’t spend too much time together. It’s just… complicated.” “I’m sorry,” Madison said, putting her arms around him and laying her head on his chest. “It’s not like you and your dad, Madi. He seems really cool. I liked meeting him today.” “He has his moments,” she laughed. “But, yeah, he’s pretty decent.” “I’m o.k. I still have the coven and all the extended family - and you.” “Maybe things will get better for you and your mom in time.” “Maybe. But enough parent talk. You haven’t tried out my bed yet.” Madison laughed and made her way across the room to Pogue’s huge bed, covered in black satin. “You know, once you ascend, beds will become irrelevant for us.” “What do you mean?” “Caleb and I can’t have sex in a bed. The power connects and we end up on the ceiling.” “Is that why he’s got that new bed with the thick canopy?” She nodded, laughing. “He’s very considerate that way.” “Well, hell, I can be considerate too. I’ll just strap a pillow to your back,” he laughed. “Shut up,” she said, pushing his chest playfully. “We just better enjoy this bed while we can.” She unfastened her jeans and shimmied out of them while Pogue watched with interest. Smiling at him over her shoulder, she crawled onto the bed, swaying her panty covered ass at him teasingly. She could see the instant lust in his eyes. “Mmmmm… witch, you are going to get it,” he growled, removing his shirt. Madi turned and sat, looking at his cut body with appreciation. He pulled off the rest of his clothing and leapt onto the bed, knocking her flat on her back as he covered her body with his. She wrapped her arms and legs around his heated body, pressing onto him while they kissed. His tongue swept into her mouth, making her dizzy with sensation. She could feel the difference between each Son. She could tell Pogue was getting close to ascending by the sparks of sensations he caused in her. After he ascended, those same sparks would be like cords that wrapped around her, connecting her to him, as it did with Caleb. He skillfully pulled her shirt over her head and tossed it. Next he made short work of her bra, giving her a moan of satisfaction when her bare chest met his. There was a big part of Madi that loved the witch-warlock dynamic when it came to sex. She loved how much they wanted her - needed her. She loved how decisive they were in bed. They took what they wanted, and the perfect thing was that it was exactly what Madi wanted too. Pogue made his way down her body, spending a lot of time with her breasts while teasing her with his fingers near her panty. He hooked a finger inside the elastic waistband and slowly tugged them down her legs while he flicked his tongue down her belly. Madi was breathing hard, her heart hammering wildly, by the time he cover her hot wet center with his mouth. He hummed his pleasure against her excited clit, making her writhe on the bed. His tongue traced every crevasse, tasting her juices. Madison squirmed with delight when he finally focused on her little nub, covering it with his mouth, sucking on it gently, and probing it with his tongue. Pogue knew how to prolong her orgasm, and smiled with satisfaction after she lay spent, sighing drunkenly in post-orgasmic bliss. When he moved up next to her, he smiled at her expression, loving that he made her feel that way. “I love when you come apart like that,” he said. “I love when I come apart like that too,” she grinned. “Thank you.” “Anytime, beautiful,” he replied, kissing her. He shifted himself until he was laying on top of her, between her legs. His cock was hard and needy, ready to fuck her, and he intended to take his time. They had all night, after all. And Pogue Parry knew once would never be enough. OOOOOO A/N Hope you enjoyed that. So Madison will have to face Chase in Boston after all. Let’s hope she’s ready for him. You’ll find out next time. Please review and let me know your thoughts. I’m really excited for coming events that I have planned out. It’s hard for me not to write those future chapters first. But I have to have the build up.
