(The Gro’thon-ious Ship)
“You requested to speak to me?” Su’tara
stared at Maha’vin as he stroked his mandible for a moment. “When did you
arrive? I thought Father’s ship was many weeks away.”
“I took my cruiser here.” Maha’vin looked
at her for a moment.
“To visit your sons?”
“Are you joining your brother on his
ship?” Maha’vin questioned. “Since Kuja is joining her mates’ family I thought
maybe you will as well.”
“Lo’kesh has left the decision to me,”
she looked at Maha’vin in a curious manner. “I think Ta’noj will need me to
kick him in the ass every once in a while.”
Maha’vin chuckled. Out of all of Kayla’s
children Su’tara reminded him of Kayla the most. “If you join him then I will
as well.”
“Why?”
Maha’vin shrugged his shoulders. “You are
my niece and Kayla children are important to me. I would like to see to their
well being.”
“Ga’gan will be joining him.”
“So what,” he growled.
Su’tara crossed her arms and stared at
him. Maha’vin growled at her, but she continued to stare.
“Look, I am getting old and I do not have
to discuss my reasoning with you!” he barked in annoyance as he turned around
to walk away.
“Just say you are my grandfather and you
want to be around your grandchildren,” Su’tara blurted. He turned to look at
her. Maha’vin didn’t know what to say. Ka’mya died during childbirth many years
ago, only giving Maha’vin three children and they were already settled on
Shra’van’s ship. He would rarely see them, but having Su’tara around reminded
him that he still had a part of his deceased son with him. He felt proud to
train his great grandsons.
“I do not know what you are talking
about,” he growled.
Su’tara stepped closer to him and tugged
on one of his white locks, like her mother used to do. “I know Kul’vir was my
father and I also know he was your son,” she nodded. “I heard Mother talking to
herself one day after Kul’vir’s death. As twisted as it sounds, I guess I was
lucky to have three fathers in my life and I’m lucky to have you as well.”
Su’tara smiled at Maha’vin before teasing him. “Grandfather.”
Maha’vin grunted at her. “You are as wise
as your mate.”
“Thank you.” Su’tara watched him slowly
walk away. “Where do you wish to settle Grandfather? Which ever ship you desire
to be on, that is where I will be.”
Maha’vin smiled. He never thought he
would hear Su’tara call him grandfather. Kul’vir never called him father and he
was fine with that. He was just grateful they got along so well before his
death. “I think it is best to watch after your little brother,” he turned and
gave her a stern look. “I have already packed my things. They are on my
cruiser. Inform your brother I too will be on his ship and I do not care if he
likes the decision.” Su’tara smiled as he walked away. He moved slower since
his last near fatal injury with the hard-meats but, he still walked with as
much pride as any young Yautja she had ever seen.
“Aunt Su’tara,” Aa’hana smiled. “Father’s
cruiser just returned.”
“Thank you,” Su’tara nodded before
rushing off.
Wa’jeeh quickly took the child from
Jasmine and purred at the little boy. “Will you allow me to train him?”
“Train him to do what?” Jasmine
questioned. Wa’jeeh shook his head as he walked towards Su’tara.
Su’tara stared at the child for a moment
then looked up at Shra’van. “He is the reason we are being protected?”
Shra’van nodded as he reached down to
pick up Aa’hana. “Come to my quarters and we will talk.”
Su’tara nodded before walking over to
Ta’noj. She stared at him for a moment before touching his cheek.
“I am well,” he answered her worried
expression. “No one was killed and my questions were answered.”
“Go rest Brother.” Su’tara looked over at
Jasmine and touched her cheek before walking away.
“Where is your brother taking my son?”
Jasmine blurted as they slowly walked to their quarters.
“He is safe,” Ta’noj assured her. When
the doors opened Kavi’ta rushed over towards Ta’noj. He stared at her for a
moment before holding her close.
“The baby,” Kavi’ta panicked as she
looked at Jasmine.
“He is with Wa’jeeh,” Jasmine smiled at
Kavi’ta’s shocked expression. Jasmine pointed to her ear. “I can understand you
now.”
“Oh my goodness,” Kavi’ta chuckled as she
took Jasmine’s hand. “There is so much I have to say.”
“Me too!” Jasmine laughed as they
walked off.
Ta’noj frowned at the both of them. “Damn
females,” he mumbled.
(Sh’lok’s ship)
Setting a different course and keeping up
the accelerated speed, Ba’naj managed to make it back to the ship before
Sh’lok. Sa’dar was there to greet him.
“You did not kill him?”
“Of course not,” Ba’naj growled as he
skipped the warm greeting he normally gave his brother. He explained everything
to him as they walked to his quarters.
“Well I too shall go get my family
prepared,” Sa’dar nodded before walking away.
“Sa’dar you are not going with me,”
Ba’naj growled as he stepped closer to his brother. “There is no reason for you
to leave.”
“We stay together as promised,” Sa’dar
nodded to him before going to tell his mates of the news.
When Ba’naj entered his quarters P’tea
didn’t hesitate. She ran to his side and held him close. “I did not think I
would ever see you again,” she whispered.
“I know,” he nodded. After a moment he
pushed her away. “We need to pack. We are going to go join Ta’noj on his ship.”
“What?” P’tea looked shocked as she
followed Ba’naj into their living quarters. “Does he know what happened between
you and Kayla? Ta’noj has a ship? And will he not die soon on the planet?”
“Go get my other mates and our pups and I
will explain to you all,” Ba’naj stopped removing his attire from the drawers
and turned to look at his concerned mate. He walked over to P’tea and caressed
her face softly before running his claws through her hair. She always insisted
on wearing it down. Unlike his other mates, whom wore it pinned into a bun with
beads adoring it. “Sh’lok knows and I do not feel safe living on this ship.
Until he understands that I never meant to harm Kayla, he will attempt to kill
me.” P’tea gasped as she reached for Ta’noj birth ring. “Please go get the
others so I can explain.”
Sh’lok roared angrily as soon as the
doors to his quarters closed. The only thing he could think of was killing
Ba’naj. Since they were back on his ship he could kill him and not be subjected
to any punishment. Since he was not an elder, killing him on Shra’van’s ship
could have resulted in his own death on the home world. He stormed past Lee’na
and went directly to his weapons.
“Please, talk to me,” Lee’na purred as
she tried to get Sh’lok to look at her.
“My ex son, Ta’noj, refused to kill him,”
he yelled as he retrieved his prized dagger. “So I will. Wa’jeeh is his son. My
two daughters, Tar’un and Pa’naka…” Sh’lok roared again, this time punching the
nearest wall and leaving his fist print deeply embedded into the cool steel. “How many more of my pups are not my own!” He quickly told
Lee’na what happened.
“It is over,” Lee’na cautiously stepped
in front of him as his breathing became more sporadic. Even when Kayla died,
she didn’t recall Sh’lok being so angry. “I was in the community room when
P’tea came in to get Ba’naj other mates. They are leaving.”
“Not before I kill him,” he growled.
“They can take his dead body with them.”
Lee’na looked over his locks and sighed.
“I overheard P’tea saying they were going to go live on Ba’naj’s son ship. Did
you disown Ta’noj? Where is his ring Sh’lok?”
“The hell with that boy. He is weak like his
mother.”
“Do not disrespect the dead,” Lee’na
growled in warning. “You loved her. You told me this. Of all her pups, you are
angry the most with him because he reminds you of her. Reclaim your son.”
“Fine,” Sh’lok stepped closer to Lee’na.
“I will take that damn ring back once I kill Ba’naj.”
“Why are we running?” Ba’naj younger mate
growled. P’tea looked over at her as she gathered her clothes and growled
angrily.
“We are not running K’Al-sha,” he tried
to explain to her again. “It is out of respect for Kayla that I do not harm
Sh’lok.”
“Ba’naj!” Sh’lok roared as he entered
Ba’naj quarters.
Ba’naj sighed before looking at his
concerned mates. “Please stay here and continue to pack.”
“But you are about to die,” K’Al-sha
whispered. “Please do not go and get yourself killed for his deceased whore…”
“If she was a whore then what am I to
you?”
Without warning P’tea grabbed her neck
and snarled angrily in her face. “I never liked you. Just as easily as I
approved of you being Ba’naj’s third mate I can easily take my decision back.
If his last mate didn’t die during childbirth centuries ago you would not be
here. Honestly, I wish it were Kayla instead of you.” P’tea looked over at
Ba’naj and gave him a nod. “Do what you must Ba’naj.”
P’tea never failed him. Since they were
young he devoted his life to her. Ba’naj always told her there would be other
mates, but she would always be special and she accepted that. Even when he
decided to join Sa’tesh’s clan, without thinking of her family she packed her
things and left with him. Ba’naj walked in as Sh’lok snarled at him. He didn’t
bother to pull out a weapon since Sh’lok appeared to be unarmed. When he
stepped closer Sh’lok lunged at him in blazing fury, knocking the wind from him
as their bodies hurdled towards the wall.
“We will see who is weak,” Sh’lok roared
as he landed a blow to Ba’naj’s face.
Clamping his fists together, Ba’naj
delivered a punch to Sh’lok’s face, weakening him temporarily. Ba’naj pulled
out his weapon as soon as Sh’lok did. “You are angry, but you do not wish to
kill me.”
Sh’lok answered him by aiming at his
throat. Ba’naj managed to push him away. When Sh’lok ran towards him again,
Ba’naj remembered his fight with Kayla on the planet. Mimicking her glorious
winning move, Ba’naj quickly dropped down, tripping Sh’lok in the process.
Slamming his fist down on his back and flipping him over, Ba’naj roared in
victory as he held up his dagger and aimed it at Sh’lok’s throat.
“This is the reason Kayla did not want
you two to fight,” P’tea growled. Lee’na rushed in and gasped as she watched
Ba’naj, knowing he was about to kill her mate.
Ba’naj roared as he struck his blade into
the floor next to Sh’lok’s head. “You are right P’tea.” They stared at one
another with pure hatred.
“You would have both lost,” P’tea grabbed
hold of Ba’naj hand, pulling him up and off of Sh’lok. “You
for leaving him alive, and you Sh’lok, for flinching before death. Come,
we must leave.”
Lee’na walked over to Sh’lok as he stood.
Ba’naj stood by the door as his mates gathered their things and left slowly.
“It is not over, Arbitrator.”
Ba’naj shook his head. Years ago, with no
disregard to age, he would have killed this boy, who was not much older than
one of his sons. He would have chopped his head off with no hesitation, took
his mate and apologized to his friend for killing his only son. Now that he was
older, wiser and understood Sh’lok’s love for Kayla he could only look at him
with pity. “You are a good fighter, son of Aa’rth, but I have far more experience
than you, which makes this an unfair fight. Spend the rest of your days
preparing for my death, and when you think you are ready I will be waiting.
Until then, if I ever hear stories of you disrespecting Kayla's memory with
everything you have learned of us I will come after you and kill you in the
slowest manner I can possibly think of.”
Ba’naj was about to walk away but stopped and took off Ta’noj’s birth
ring. He tossed it over to Lee’na. “When your mate calms down have him claim
his son. He is not my son, but I will look after him as if he was my own, they
same way he did for my pups.” Ba’naj nodded at them both before leaving.
(The Gro’thon-ious Ship)
“It is almost done,” Shra’van trilled
softly as he watched with amazement at the nearly completed ship. “Will you be
docking it on the planet?” Shra’van turned to look at Ta’noj whom stared at the
busy workers.
“I suppose.” Ta’noj looked over at his
brother and smiled. “Jasmine mated with me.”
Shra’van laughed. Since they returned
Jasmine still refused to mate with Ta’noj with Kavi’ta in the same room.
Although Kavi’ta told her it was completely fine, Jasmine still refused. “I bet
Kavi’ta was not in the room.”
“She was taking a shower,” Ta’noj
chuckled. “That was the quickest mating I have ever done. Kavi’ta thought it
was amusing.”
“So that makes it the fourth time in
months,” Shra’van teased. “At least it was not in one of the empty quarters
like before.”
They both turned to see two of Lee’na
sons walk in. “Thank you for allowing us clearance,” Lar’noh nodded towards
both of them.
“You are our brothers,” Shra’van reminded
him.
“I was disowned,” Ta’noj corrected them
as he looked over at one of the busy eta’s.
“Father is being foolish,” Sap’ani walked
over towards his brother. “You will always be my brother Ta’noj.”
“Oh please just ask him if you can join
his clan,” Lar’noh laughed. “He has been starring at this damn ship for days
now.”
“Wa’jeeh will be joining him as well,”
Shra’van warned him. Sap’ani and Wa’jeeh were close in age and for decades they
would compete with one another. They were both fine warriors due to their
sibling rivalry.
“I remember when Sap’ani and Wa’jeeh
fought everyday over some scrawny looking female who talked too much,” Ta’noj
grunted as he thought back. “Her hair was always disheveled and her dresses
were entirely too long. Who is the unlucky male that ended up with her?”
“I am,” Lar’noh growled.
“You have my deepest sympathy,” Ta’noj
chuckled before turning to the eager eyes of his younger brother. “You may come
along Sap’ani, even if it is for the amusement.” They walked leisurely towards
the sparring hall as they discussed Ta’noj soon departure. Maha’vin was already
aboard the new ship trying to figure out which room he preferred the most and
how close it was to the nearest sparing hall. Ta’noj didn’t let anyone know how
pleased he was to have some of his family around him and even Kavi’ta was happy
to go. She was also please that he was done running away.
The four of them stopped and looked on in
amazement as Wa’jeeh pushed a female aside and roared angrily at an older male
trainer. He moved with tremendous speed as he dropped the warrior to his knees
and snapped his neck.
“Wow, for someone with extra gut he is
fast,” Ta’noj nodded in approval.
“What the fuck is your problem!” Shra’van
roared as he stormed towards his brother.
“He was disrespecting a female,” Wa’jeeh
growled. The female he was protecting purred in his direction. Wa’jeeh grunted
at her, knowing she was impressed with his skills.
Sap’ani walked over and looked at her
before turning his attention towards the dead Yautja. “I could have killed him
even quicker than you.”
“I am tired of my brothers already,” he
barked as he looked at the amused look on Su’ram’s face. “The only one of you
whom has permission to stay aboard my ship is Mordecai. The rest of you, get
the fuck off, now!” Shra’van listened carefully as a transmission was being
played on the communication device that was attached to his ear.
The ships of the
Jac’Skul De Legion
have approached. We are close to the planet. Shra’van nodded and looked
at his brothers. “Get off my ship. I do not want to see any of you for another
fifty years.”
“Great kill,” Mi’tra trilled as she
walked up to Wa’jeeh.
“Take her with you,” Shra’van growled as
he turned to leave the room.
When Ta’noj returned to his quarters he
suddenly stopped and sniffed the air before letting out a deep growl. Jasmine is crying. He walked into his
room to see Kavi’ta comforting Jasmine. ”What is wrong?”
Jasmine looked up at him and started to
cry again. Kavi’ta shook her head as she purred softly. “She is having another
child. Ta’noj I told her it was a good thing, but she is devastated.”
Ta’noj smiled before patting his chest
and crossing his arms.
“I can’t do this,” Jasmine cried.
“Haven’t you people ever heard of birth control!”
“Nonsense,” Ta’noj laughed.
“Ta’noj,” Ba’naj walked in to see the
distraught ooman female. He had been on the ship for weeks transporting his
things and making sure his mates and pups were alright. He also felt compelled
to talk to each one of Kaylas children individually. Su’tara was the hardest
for him. She reminded him so much of Kayla. He heard of Jasmine and even
listened to his mates talk about the similarities between her and Kavi’ta, but
he had never seen her until now.
Jasmine eyes widened and she stood up. He’s
larger than the one they call Maha’vin, she thought to herself as she
watched him step closer to her.
“You have never met my mate,” Ta’noj
touched his shoulder.
“Stop staring,” Ba’naj warned her. He tilted
his head to the side. “Your eyes are very unusual for an ooman.” He awaited a
response from the inquisitive looking female, but instead she continued to gawk
at him. He turned to look at Ta’noj, whom held an amused look on his face.
“Does she speak our language?”
“She understands you,” he chuckled, “She
has a communicator in her ear that the Jafren had given her. You are by far the
largest Yautja she had the opportunity to be close too.”
Ba’naj turned back around. Jasmine opened
her mouth to speak, but suddenly stopped as the huge male bent down to look
into her eyes, he playfully roared at her. Not understanding his anger Jasmine
screamed to the top of her lungs before clinging onto Ta’noj.
Kavi’ta covered her ears quickly and
backed away. “What the fuck was that,” she said angrily. “What type of ooman
sound is that?”
Ba’naj started to laugh. “I was just
playing, I am sorry. It was a scream of fright Kavi’ta. They usually do that
when they see us, or before they die.”
When the three of them started to chuckle
Jasmine quickly became angry and stormed out of the room. “Fuck you, goddamn,
Aliens.” Ba’naj laughed harder at the little ooman’s angry rant.
“She is expecting again and I think the
mood swings are going to start early,” Ta’noj sighed before heading towards the
door.
Ba’naj stopped him. “No, allow me. I just
came to tell you that we are ready to depart.”
“Assholes,” Jasmine mumbled as she stared
out of the window at two enormous ships in the distance. She didn’t know why
she screamed. It was an instant reaction when looking at the most deadliest
looking alien she had ever encountered. She thought Lo’kesh and Maha’vin were
big, but Ba'naj was no comparison.
“We are not assholes,” Ba’naj smiled as
he approached her slowly. He noticed she jumped upon hearing his voice. “I have
come to apologize. I was just playing with you. I will never harm Ta’noj’s
mate.” When he stood in front of her Jasmine refused to look at him. The last
thing she needed again was to hear him roar at her. Ba’naj tilted her head up
so she could stare into his eyes. “I am Ba’naj.”
“Oh,” Jasmine nodded. “You are the one
that was madly in love with Kayla.” He noticed the relief on her face to hear
his name.
“Just because I had a flaw for one ooman
does not mean I will hesitate to rip one’s head off,” he growled.
“Love isn’t a flaw,” Jasmine shook her
head, completely ignoring his threat.
“Who said it was love?”
“Your eyes at the mention of her name,”
Jasmine smiled when he growled at her. “Don’t worry, I won’t say anything.” She
stared at his glassy blue eyes for a moment. “Your sons, Tar’un and Pa’naka
eyes are just as mesmerizing as yours. They are absolutely beautiful.
“Thank you,” he nodded.
“Are you still afraid,” Ta’noj chuckled
as he walked in. He noticed the annoyed look on Ba’naj face then looked over to
his mate.
Ba’naj finally looked at Ta’noj. “She is
young, and smart.” He watched Kavi’ta
walk slowly into the room. “I must go.”
