Kayla threw her things down as she entered her room. Seeing
Ga’gan and Sh’lok ready to fight reminded her of the time with Maha’vin. If she
had to leave again to prove her point she was taking her kids with her…
somehow.
“Mother,” Ta’noj said softly, startling Kayla from her
thoughts. She turned around and gave him a hug. She noticed Su’tara and hugged
her as well.
“I missed you both.”
“I missed you too,” Su’tara said. She looked at her mom.
“So, can I go back to the ship now? I have a pilot waiting on the port.”
Kayla laughed, “Is Lo’kesh waiting for you?” She nodded
yes and Kayla shooed her away.
“I am staying with you,” Ta’noj nodded. “Where is my
room?”
“You can not stay Son,” Kayla tugged on his locks. “I need
you to make sure your sister is alright.”
“She is a handful,” he sighed. “Ok, I will see you soon.”
He pressed his cheek against hers before walking out. Kayla leaned on the glass
and sighed. She didn’t know what was going on between Sh’lok and Ga’gan, and
she didn’t care.
Sh’lok watched her for a moment as she stared of into
space like she normally does, when she was upset. “Are you feeling well?”
Sh’lok questioned standing behind her.
“Sorry, my bed is not big enough for you and Lee’na, so
you two will have to sleep else where if you’re staying on board,” Kayla said
dryly.
He looked back at the bed that was exactly the same size
as theirs. “Yes you are right,” he sighed. “But it does look large enough for
you and Ga’gan.”
“Leave Sh’lok,” Kayla sighed, she didn’t bother to look at
him. “I don’t need this shit.”
“I don’t either,” he mumbled walking out. Kayla closed her
eyes, but opened them again when he walked back in.
“Forgive me my mate,” Kayla spoke softly. “As soon as I
walked off of the ship I watched Lee’na rub her stomach and I was jealous. Then
to see you and Ga’gan prepared to fight.” Kayla felt Sh’lok touch her back.
They stared at each others reflection for a moment. “I have no reason to snap
at you.”
“Yautja aggression,” he grunted. “It is cute on you sometimes.”
“About Ga’gan...”
“Do you love him? Do not deny it. I have spoken with
Na’lam.” Sh’lok tilted Kayla’s head to the side and growled angrily at the bite
marks on her neck.
“His memories were coming back and for a moment he claimed
me as his mate, but nothing happened.”
“Answer my question Kayla,” his voice was low and
demanding.
“I care for his well being,” Kayla looked up at Sh’lok.
“But I am obligated to you. I love you and I want you. You want Lee’na. What am
I to do?”
“I want you as well as Lee’na!” he blurted. Realizing what
he just said he took a step back from her.
“So you finally admit it,” Kayla shook her head. “Let’s
see, I have a current mate who doesn’t even know
I exist and a past mate who will do anything to be with me. I am his Lee’na.
What would you do Sh’lok?”
Sh’lok bent down to look in her eyes. “Make your choice
Kayla,” he spoke softly before placing his hand on her chest.
Kayla shook her head as her eyes became misty. “I can’t.”
Sh’lok touched her face before leaving the room.
Su’tara took in a deep breath as she stared at Lo’kesh. He
tried to remain calm as he looked down at the petite female whom was visibly
nervous. “We do not have to do this Su’tara,” he growled in her ear. “I do not
mind holding you.”
“You have been holding me for over two months,” she looked
into his eyes. She could tell one more week of holding and fondling her would
drive him crazy. “I want you.” She held her breath and closed her eyes as he
positioned himself in between her legs.
Lo’kesh felt his body throb. He never wanted anything more
in his life. He didn’t move until she opened her eyes and started to breathe
again. He felt the tip of himself make contact with her body. They both let out
a soft whimper. Lo’kesh pushed himself in slowly and paused from the unfamiliar
soft, wet feeling. Su’tara looked at him strangely. “That’s not all, is it?”
“No,” he frowned, “Of course not.” They both looked down
in-between Su’tara’s legs. He was not even half way inside her. Lo’kesh fought
the urge to push himself all the way inside her body. He never thought it would
feel this great. Not sure of how her body would react, Lo’kesh allowed Su’tara
to guide him. She wrapped her legs around him and pushed him in deeper. This
caused Lo’kesh to emit a loud purr, hi mandibles clicked involuntarily. Su’tara
shifted and moaned softly from the heated friction. Lo’kesh wanted to say
something to her. He wanted to tell her how well she was doing and how great
she felt, but every time he went to talk he would let out a groan. Su’tara
pushed him inside her slowly.
“How does it feel to you?” Su’tara whispered as she looked
at him with great concern.
Lo’kesh was all the way inside her. He gripped the sheets
and roared as he pulled out and slammed himself back inside Su’tara. She
hollered from the pain and the pleasure. His size was of no comparison to
Kon’kan, it was larger and more fulfilling. He slowly rocked himself back and
forth inside her as he stared at her eyes. When Su’tara smiled at him he
grunted before taking her by the waist and slamming into her body continuously.
He could feel her insides quiver and knew from the past sensation he had felt
on his tongue, she was having an orgasm. Lo’kesh roared loudly as his body
erupted inside Su’tara. He suddenly felt light headed. He pulled out her body
slowly and laid next to her. They both tried to catch
their breath.
“Oh my goodness,” he groaned as he pulled her closer to
him. “Please tell me we can do that again,” Su’tara laughed and snuggled deeper
into his body.
“When, tomorrow?” she looked up at him.
“No, now,” he growled playfully as he bit her.
Kayla locked herself in her temporary room on the Gro’thon-ious for several days, only talking to Lex.
She knew it was completely childish of her, but she didn’t have any answers for
anyone. She passed on all the celebrations on the three ships. Sh’lok tried to
talk to her several times, as well as Ga’gan, but she told them both to go
away. Kayla listened for a moment as someone continuously buzzed the com. She
gave Lex and Shra’van complete access so she knew it wasn’t them. “Go away!”
she yelled.
“Never tell me to go away!” Nam’rah roared outside the
door.
“I am so sorry,” Kayla said as she seen the outrage on her
face. She bowed slightly to Nam’rah and asked her to come in.
“What are you going to do?” she crossed her arms as she
stared at her. “You cannot hide in here forever. You have two mates that want a
decision from you.” Kayla sat next to her before looking in her direction.
“You have always been nice to me Nam’rah,” Kayla nodded to
her.
“I know how you helped Kul’vir years ago,” Nam’rah touched
Kayla’s face. “You have been like a daughter to me since then. I know you are
troubled. You could have told me that Kul’vir was Su’tara’s father.”
“You could have told me Maha’vin was Kul’vir’s father,”
Kayla gave her a skeptical look.
“I understand your logic.”
Kayla explained to her about Lee’na and how she truly felt
about the whole situation. She constantly wiped her eyes as she talked about
Ga’gan. Kayla admitted she truly wanted to be with him. “I don’t understand it
Nam’rah,” Kayla sighed. “When I’m with Ga’gan I think of Sh’lok and how I feel
like I’m betraying him. When I’m with Sh’lok I think of Ga’gan. I care for both
of them.” Nam’rah tilted her head to the side as she stared at the confused
female. “Why can’t I take on a second mate?” Nam’rah laughed at her.
“There would be a lot of happy females if we could,” she
laughed.
“So if you could take a second mate, who would it be?”
Kayla smiled. Nam’rah growled at her. “Sorry.”
After a moment of silence Nam’rah finally answered with a
deep purr. “Ba’naj.”
“Oh he is a good choice,” Kayla laughed. “He prepared me
once.”
“He used to prepare me a lot of times,” Nam’rah trilled.
“He is so domineering. His lucky mates.”
They sat for a moment, not saying anything. Kayla was
thinking about her situation, and Nam’rah was thinking about Ba’naj.
“Be with the one who wants you to himself.” Kayla shook
her head, not completely understanding. “Test them and be with the one who only
wants you. You must face the fact that each one will have a second mate, but
which one is willing to give up their mate for you?”
“How is that a test?”
“In our society if a male gives up a mate he is declaring
that he is worthless,” she explained. “In Ne’el’s case that was completely
circumstantial and he did not lose his status. In Ga’gan and Sh’lok‘s case they
would be ridiculed and may have to possibly find another clan.”
“Why such harsh terms?” Kayla
questioned.
“You took on a responsibility you are telling everyone you
could not handle,” Nam’rah sighed. “You are declaring yourself as weak. No
female would want them after that.”
“I don’t know Nam’rah,” Kayla gave her a skeptical look.
“I do not wish to play games with them.”
“It is your game or my sons battle over you,” she spoke
softly. “And theirs will end in someone’s death. Males are very possessive over
their females and they listen to every word we say. Have you not noticed that
every time you give Sh’lok advice or suggest something he implements it? We,
the females, control everything but, we allow the males to portray their role
as leaders.”
“I never noticed.”
“I can go to Sa’tesh and demand he start a war with the
elder of this ship for looking at me. He would not question it.” She trilled
softly. “Though he would turn everything around and say it was his idea.”
“That is a lot of power,” Kayla bit her lip.
“You have two males that are about to start a war over you
and I do not wish to see either one of them harmed in any way. Do as I say,
please.”
Kayla nodded.
“I have the answers to your problems!” Lex said walking
in. She looked at Nam’rah and bowed. “Elder Nam’rah, I did not know you were
here. Excuse my outburst.”
“It is quite alright,” she trilled softly at the
respectable human. “Please share with us.”
Lex looked at Kayla and Kayla nodded. Lex gave Kayla an
orange pill. “Whomever you choose, take this pill before
mating.” She smiled at her friend. Nam’rah trilled softly before
standing up.
“Kayla, please do as I say,” she looked at Lex and laughed
before leaving the room.
“Lex, how is this going to help?”
Kayla questioned.
“Trust me,” she smiled. “If your mate has five mates he
will center his attention only on you.”
“I trust you,” she smiled as she put the pill away.
“Good,” she nodded. “There is something else. Ga’gan has
begged me to talk to you. He really wants to see you.”
“Ok,” Kayla nodded. “I will call him.”
Ga’gan came to her quarters so fast she thought he was
waiting at the door. “Kayla,” he purred stepping closer to her. “Please tell me
you want me just as badly.”
“I do,” Kayla said out loud as he pressed his body against
hers. “But you have to get rid of your mate…”
“Na’lam?” he questioned as he gently pushed Kayla away.
“Do not give me an answer now,” Kayla walked him to the
door. “I will give you two months.” She didn’t give him a chance to respond.
Kayla quickly closed the door and called Sh’lok.
He stared into her eyes before walking in. When the doors
closed he turned around and looked at her. Sh’lok stared at Kayla like he
hadn’t seen her in years.
“I want to remain as your mate Sh’lok,” he walked closer
to her and brushed her locks from her neck before gently biting it. “But you
must get rid of Lee’na.”
“She is having my child Kayla,” he growled. “What kind of
male would I be to kick her out of our quarters?”
“You have two months to think about it,” Kayla looked up
at him. She could tell her proposal angered him.
“Do not give me ultimatums,” he growled. “You are placing
me in a corner and the only choice you give me is to fight back.”
“Get rid of Lee’na and I will be your mate forever,” Kayla
stared at him.
“Lee’na was your idea!” he roared at her before leaving.
Lex watched him as he stormed past her.
“Kayla? What happened?”
After explaining everything to her Lex hit her shoulder.
“What if they both tell you they will not leave their mate? Or better yet, what
if they both do?”
Kayla gave her a weary look before replying, “I haven’t
thought that far.”
“Now that your family is back are you sure you do not mind
me going on this hunt?” Lo’kesh questioned as he pulled Su’tara closer to him.
Since they mated it was now Lo’kesh who couldn’t get enough of her.
Su’tara thought it was cute, how he wanted to know her
whereabouts on the ship and how Lo’kesh liked to spend his time solely with
her. She remembered not long ago it was the other way around. Su’tara loved his
new found attention. They both agreed to not mate again until their ritual, but
that agreement lasted for one week. Sometimes she would push him away and vice
versa. They never denied each other foreplay. “No, I want you to go,” she ran
her hand over his metal plating. “You have not been in so long.”
“I will miss you,” he growled softly near her ear.
“I know what you will miss,” Su’tara teased. Lo’kesh
grunted before pushing her against the wall. He was tempted to take her, but he
feared it would make him weak on his hunt. Su’tara walked him to the docking
port.
“Remember you have access to my quarters,” he reminded
her. “Will you be waiting for me?”
“I will wait for you forever if I have to.”
“Well hopefully I will not keep you waiting that long,”
Lo’kesh smiled at her. They both looked up when a ship docked.
“Mother,” Su’tara walked over to her and gave her a hug.
She growled playfully at Shra’van. He grunted at her and looked over at
Lo’kesh.
“Good, I caught you just in time,” Kayla walked over to
Lo’kesh and shook his shoulder softly. He bowed to her before looking into her
eyes. “You cannot go hunting for a month.”
He tilted his head to the side. “Am I being punished for
mating with Su’tara?” he questioned.
“Oh my God,” Kayla covered her mouth and looked at her
daughter.
“Who is God?” Lo’kesh looked at Su’tara then Shra’van.
“She mentions God whenever she is happy or upset,”
Shra’van tried to explain. “It is an entity that ooman’s worship.”
“Now you are a student of oomanology?”
Su’tara joked. Shra’van gave her the finger behind Kayla’s back.
“Are you ok?” Kayla touched her daughters face. “The ritual?”
“Sh’lok gave us permission,” Lo’kesh told her.
“What about my permission?”
“You were busy with the Jafren,” Lo’kesh accidentally
emitted a low growl of disgust. Kayla stared at him.
“You do not approve of my actions?” Kayla crossed her arms
as she talked to him.
“With all due respect leader Kayla, I do not,” he nodded
to her. “To advert to trickery goes against everything I believe in.”
So that is why they like him, Kayla smiled.
“Lo’kesh, you are not being punished. It is a request.”
“And if I ignore your wishes,” he stammered before looking
at Su’tara. “Will I be punished?”
Kayla feared the Yautja would go anyway. She looked at her
daughter whom was starting to get upset with her. “If you leave I will have the
ship turn back around and you will be confined to your room for a month. You
are not to hunt for one month. Trust me, when I say it is for the best.”
“Mother,” Su’tara growled. “This is not fair!”
“I am sorry,” Kayla spoke softly. “This is why I didn’t send
a communication. I thought it would be better if I told you in person. Shra’van
and I will be heading back to the Gro’thon-ious ship.
We will leave this quadrant in a few months when all the upgrades are done.”
She looked back at Lo’kesh. He was angry, but he tried to hide it. “I am
sorry.” Kayla nodded before returning to the ship.
“Mother,” Shra’van walked up to her when the doors closed.
“Do you think the Jafren could have been wrong about not allowing him to hunt?”
“I think they are trying to save his life.” Shra’van shook
her shoulder before heading to the pilot seat. Kayla watched as Su’tara wrapped
her arms around Lo’kesh. “Shra’van, maneuver the ship outside the docking
station. I have a strong feeling he will leave anyway.”
“Nothing will happen to you Lo’kesh,” Su’tara encouraged
him. “She is angry because we mated.”
“I do not think she knew,” he mumbled. “Maybe I should not
go.”
“My mother is gone,” Su’tara chuckled. “How would she know
you left? She is too busy with her own problems.”
“But she was not to busy to come here and tell me not to
hunt,” he growled. Su’tara was quiet for a moment as she looked at him.
“Are you ready to go?” Maha’vin questioned as he shook
Lo’kesh’s shoulder. “Hello Su’tara.”
“Uncle,” she replied not looking at him.
“What do you think Su’tara?” Lo’kesh stared at her for an
answer. “It will only be a few days.”
“Go,” she urged him. “I will deal with my mother.”
Maha’vin watched as Lo’kesh walked towards the ship.
“If he is your potential mate you made a good choice,” he
nodded at her. “He is a great fighter.”
“You really think so?” she trilled softly. “Kul’vir
practically spat in my face because of my decision, because Lo’kesh used to be
an eta.”
“That just makes him stronger,” he grunted. He looked at
her in surprise when she shook his shoulder softly.
“Thank you Uncle.”
Maha’vin watched her walk off before he headed towards the
ship.
Kayla and Shra’van watched the ship leave. “Open a
communication with them,” Kayla sighed. She prayed Lo’kesh didn’t go.
“Kayla?” Maha’vin questioned.
“Is Lo’kesh on this hunt?” She looked over at Shra’van
when she heard Maha’vin say yes. “Turn your ship back around. Two guards will
be there to escort him to his quarters. He will be confined for a month.”
“You are taking this leader status a bit too far,”
Maha’vin growled.
“I told him what would happen if he went,” Kayla
explained. She cut off communication.
Sh’lok was waiting for Kayla on the docks of the Gro’thon-ious when she returned. Em’mi was waiting
for Shra’van. “Is it serious?” Kayla teased him softly.
“I hope so.” Shra’van nodded at his father before going
towards Em’mi. Sh’lok waited until Shra’van walked away before walking Kayla
back on the ship. He waited until the doors closed before he roared at her.
“How dare you give confinement orders without my permission!”
“I didn’t know I needed your permission!” she yelled back.
“How can you give him permission to mate with my daughter!”
“She’s my daughter too,” Sh’lok growled. Kayla‘s look
softened when she realized her words stung. He explained his decision. She
watched as he paced back and forth. She had never recalled seeing Sh’lok so
stressed out. He was always the calm one and she was the one pacing back and
forth.
“Are you alright?” she stepped in front of him so he could
stop pacing.
“No,” he tilted his head to the side. “A couple of weeks
ago my mate decided to give me an ultimatum. I refuse to walk out on a pregnant
female.”
“Then walk out on me,” Kayla stared into his dark eyes.
Sh’lok nodded at her before walking off of the ship.
“Shra’van,” Em’mi groaned. “If I do not teach you anything
how will you learn?” He grazed her neck gently before biting her slightly
harder. He sat up straighter to stare into her eyes.
“I learned a lot,” Shra’van playfully nipped her fingers.
“Your father would kill me if I left marks on you.”
“I think he likes you,” Em’mi chuckled. “He thought you
were slightly aggressive at first, but he thinks you have calmed down.”
Shra’van tackled Em’mi, pushing her roughly on the bed before sitting on top of
her. She let out a high pitched laugh.
“Do I seem calm to you?” he growled playfully as he held
her hands high above her head. She squirmed against him causing him to moan
softly. “Do not move like that.”
When Shra’van stared at her seriously Em’mi stopped
laughing. “What is it Shra’van?”
“When it is time, I wish for you to be my mate,” he felt
on her face softly as she looked slightly confused.
“I’m half ooman,” she reminded him sarcastically.
“So am I,” he nodded.
“Prove to me that it does not matter to you and I will be
your mate,” She sat up when he let her hands go.
“How am I to prove it to you?”
“Surprise me,” she smiled before standing up. He looked at
her body and growled. Her hips were perfect for breeding and he could not wait.
