A.N: I'd like to Thank Harpling for the review. Currently this story is not Beta'ed--and I'm working on getting one--but I suck as an editor of my own work so the weak spots you noticed have gotten my attention drawn. I'll go back and see if I can't find what you mean--but Crystal's party -did- switch nights...I'll work on trying to make that clearer.
As for why Warren went out with Freon if she's such a bitch? Well, that is going to be explained later on. After all, not everything comes up in relationships--especially reasons why guys pick that gal or this to go out with. Keep reading, it'll come out!

When the bus arrived at Sky High, Warren waited until the rest were off before moving to leave himself. The music was already in full, loud swing and various couples were dancing on the floor. Principle Powers and most of the other teachers were attending to make sure rules were followed and excited seniors remained in line. Look though he did, he could not find any hint that Crystal had arrived. The S.S.S. was there, Freon and Sparks had apparently come together.
Maybe...she had decided not to come after all. The thought was terrible but he could not shake the feeling that maybe...it was true. Keeping his distance from Stronghold was easy. They were all caught up in their dance partners and whatnot. Frowning a little, he found himself fidgeting a little. That and it hardly helped when Freon was spun passed and pointedly smiled at him.
His cell phone rang. Setting the cup of punch down, he went toward the doors and slipped out of the dance. The display lit up and he felt himself tense when he saw Crystal's name above the incoming number. Swallowing, he answered.
"You're late."
"I know, shit don't I know. But I'm on my way now. Just wanted to let you know before you decided I wasn't showing."
She sounded a little rushed. It was unusual enough to make him smirk.
"Thanks. How are you getting here?"
"Ah, that's my little secret. If you want, go on outside. I'll be there in maybe five minutes...if I can get the speed up."
"Sure."
Closing the phone, he made his way through the school toward the front doors. Not that he had to rush really. It was a nice warm evening so he stepped outside. Thanks to Sky High's technology, the wind was a gentle breeze only a little chilly where it passed through the magnetic field keeping things comfortable for students so high up. He glanced down to check the damn tux while he waited.
It was still neat enough. Unlike the generic ones, he wore a bright crimson shirt rather than a white beneath the black jacket. He had tied his hair back so it was in a tail past his shoulder blades and Gavin assured him he looked great. Then again, the guy had been studying his ass more than anything. It was not really too offensive, the pants were rather snug as part of the style. All he could do however was wait and hope Crystal approved.
As he looked up, a light caught his notice. Frowning at the spot, he watched it turn and come toward the school. Sure enough, it was a single headlight. Cold, blue and it did not blind as much as illuminate. In a minute, the vehicle came into the lights from the school and he blinked as the motorcycle turned smoothly to come in and land on the bus strip without a hitch save the faint screech of tires catching hold.
Warren raised one arm at the sudden blast of wind and watched with shielded eyes as the person turned the motorcycle and continued to slow it. They came up onto the sidewalk and then off it to park it on the grass. The headlight died with the motor and he heard a faint downward spiraling whine that should not have been coming from a normal motor. The rider slid off and the wind died back into a mere breeze so he could lower his arm.
Pulling the helmet off, Crystal set it on the motorcycle's seat and turned to brush her hands down her skirt before straightening completely. Standing there, Warren found himself just staring at the girl. Her hair was styled again like it had been on Christmas Eve but it was in gentle waves rather than actual curls and made her seem several years older than just a teenager. It was pulled back with a silver headband that looked a lot more like a tiara sporting deep indigo crystals like a crown.
The gown she wore...was something else. Satin from the way it shimmered at every motion, the rich indigo seemed to be painted onto her body. The material pressed snuggly about the swells of her breasts and slimmed her body inward to reveal the flat stomach and abdomen as well as the slender waist. It hugged her hips just as smoothly before suddenly flowing into a heavy, full-length skirt that danced and teased the eye about long legs.
It had no gaudy adornments like sequins or extra ribbons or frills. The neck was high, covering her chest to be held where it circled her throat. Her back was left revealed down to her waist where there was a single flat satin ribbon woven back and forth to keep the dress hugging her waist. With her hair down, he could only capture glimpses of the skin that was exposed since the light brown locks easily reached her waist.
A simple silver bracelet with indigo crystals to match her headband sparkled about her left wrist loose enough to chime softly but still close enough to her arm not to catch on anything. Her class ring was worn but it hardly seemed to clash with the outfit at all. She caught the skirt in one hand and lifted it to begin to walk toward him. Her choice of shoes happened to be indigo boots a mirror to the ones from Christmas Eve, high and stable heels with the zipper on the inside of the calf.
"Sorry for being late, Firestarter."
Realizing that he was staring, Warren blinked. He was not aware that his mouth was open a bit until she reached up to gently push his jaw up and closed it for him. Flushing, he glanced down. Crystal was smiling, he knew it. However he happened to see her hand and the nail polish that matched her gown. She was literally stunning. And looking at her again, he saw the faint flush to her cheeks. Her glasses were gone and the faint indigo eye shadow made her eyes appear grey-violet.
"No problem. You...look great."
"I hope so...I kind of got ready in a rush."
"Who's bike?"
"Mine, actually. It's why I was late. There was a bit of an argument as to why I shouldn't have a suicide machine."
"Yeah, had that talk with mom once."
"You've got one too?"
"No. She won the argument."
Crystal just smiled before stepping forward to take his arm. Warren glanced down then turned to lead her inside. She was moving as gracefully as she had when walking through the wind in the arena. Suddenly, his mouth was dry and he had to swallow as his stomach flipped stronger than ever. Catching a breath before he forgot how, he looked straight ahead.
"I'll take you for a spin sometime."
"Sure...as long as you let me drive, Whirlwind."
