The Joker lay back in his large oversized chair in his hideout that had
never been discovered while he was away. His psychotic chuckle filling the
silence as he watched Jane jump and cartwheel about. At one point she even
climbed into the raptors and began swinging from one to the other. It was all
very amusing to Joker, he’d never seen someone move like that. It was like
gravity didn’t even exist for her.
With one swift turn she flipped over a beam and landed on the floor in
front of his chair. “It’s so good to be free!” She exclaimed stretching
her arms out above her head and throwing her head back twirling around once and
then twice.
“Jane Doe seems a bit plain to me.” He said as his eyes moved over
her. “I think there is something much more appropriate . . . much more
appealing to the ears.” She looked at him a moment before moving over to him
and sat down on her knees, placing her hand on his thigh.
“Would you name me?” She asked hopefully.
The Joker’s grin started to sweep his face as he leaned forward towards
her, “I was hoping you would ask me.” He said. Reaching into his pockets he
pulled out his deck of cards. He started to shuffle them over and over before
fanning them out in his hand. “Pick a card.”
Jane looked curiously at his cards before reaching out and taking one.
She turned it over and looked at it seeing the picture of a Court Jester, with
red and black colors for the clothing he wore. Joker began to chuckle
sadistically.
“An excellent choice, my dear.” He said seeing what card she had
taken. His eyes moved towards her face, “The Harlequin is my favorite.”
Her eyes looked up at him as a smile swept her face, “Is that my
name?” She questioned her eyes shining brightly.
Joker reached out and ran his fingers along the line of her cheek, a
quiet laugh continued under his breath as he gazed into her eyes. “Have you
been a good girl today?” He questioned. She nodded her curiosity still peaked.
“How about a magic trick for my good girl?” He said.
Her eyes lit up as she clapped her hands together and nodded anxiously.
Reaching over he took up a dark purple satin cloth and held it over his lap. She
moved closer her eyes set intently on the cloth. He slowly began to raise it
wiggling it a bit, “A few magic words here, abracadabra . . . . and wah
la!!” He shouted tossing the purple cloth away revealing a small black chest.
It had a gold latch on the box and had little gold accents all over it. “A
gift for . . . Harley.” He said handing her the box.
Her eyes went wide taking the box from him and looking at it for a
moment. “Oh puddin’ . . . for me?” She said looking up at him. He turned
his eyes towards the box giving her a slight nod to open it. She unlocked the
latch and opened the lid looking inside.
Instantly her eyes started to sparkle and the smile turned into a huge
grin. Putting down the box she reached inside and took out a pair of blue human
eyes. She recognized them instantly. Those eyes had looked on her time after
time, when ever she was taken into a back room, or locked in an office against
her wishes. “Dr. Sinclair . . . how nice to ‘see’ you again.” She said
with a giggle. Looking into the box she saw two more pairs of eyes that she also
recognized. How could she not? They were eyes that haunted her in her dreams.
But now, now they weren’t so scary.
The Joker began to laugh sadistically as he saw how happy she was with
her gift. Harley smiled and held the two eyes up over hers, “What do you
think?” She asked, “Do I look better with blue eyes?”
“Darling your green eyes are much more becoming, besides.” He said
reaching out and grabbing one from her as he snatched her arm and pulled her
into his lap. He held the eye out to her in his hand, with an evil grin, “I
only have eyes for you.” She smiled as they looked into each others eyes.
Without even a thought or a moments hesitation, the Joker slid his hand into her
hair and gripped her head tightly as he pulled her into a ferocious kiss.
Eagerly she returned the kiss feeling the way his scarred lips pressed against
hers. It was so exciting.
Then just as suddenly as it began, the Joker tore his lips away from hers
as they both breathed deeply trying to catch their breath. He looked at her
still holding her in place, “You’re mine Harley. I’ll cut the eyes out of
any man who dares look at you . . . you belong to me.”
Her smile remained on her lips even though it seemed he just threatened
her somehow, she didn’t care. At once they were looked together again in a
ruthless passionate embrace.
It had been almost a month since Joker and Harley’s successful escape.
During that time the Joker had been hard at work to reestablish his small crime
gang by taking on new henchmen. Each one hand picked by the Joker, from the
survivors. The squealers and the squeamish were passed on, or simply ‘dealt’
with to make the world that much easier to do crime in.
While the Joker and his henchmen were sitting around in the hideout one
day, looking over possible targets for their first real hit since he’d been
back on the streets, Harley cart wheeled in through the door. She came to a stop
at the end of the table and opened her arms as if striking a pose after a
perfect dismount. “Well Mr. J? What do you think?” She said turning about
once or twice before looking at him again.
What she wore was a spandex, black and crimson red, spandex outfit that
resembled the one that had been on the card that gave her, her name. Although it
was incredibly form fitting without a lose spot or bag in any place at all. It
hugged to her body like a second layer of skin, revealing her very attractive
form. Everyone in the place fell silent starring at her wide-eyed and several
jaws dropped.
However, the Joker was less then pleased that she had entered and drew
every eye in the room. The man who sat next to him actually whistled slightly as
his eyes ran over her. Instantly without even a hesitation or thought a knife
was plunged through his hand that had been resting on the table pinning it to
the wood below. Still holding the handle of the dagger and not even looking at
the man, Joker looked at Harley darkly as the man continued to scream in pain
and horror holding the wrist of his hand that had been so brutally stabbed and
was still pinned in place.
Harley frowned a little seeing the look on his face and sheepishly
lowered her head a bit, feeling the icy cold glare that he gave towards her, she
took a step back. Another uneasy moment passed before she quickly turned and
left out of the room again. When she was gone, the Joker looked at the man whose
hand he had skewered, giving a sudden twist of the knife. The man screamed again
holding his wrist tighter. “Unless you want your balls cut off and shoved down
your throat to eat . . . then,” He clicked his tongue shaking his head as he
twisted the knife again. The man was pale and clammy now. Hardly able to
breathe, yet another spine chilling, blood-curdling scream of pain leapt out.
“ By all means, let that happen again..”
His eyes turned around to the other men in the room. “Anyone else have
a some contribution about her new attire?” All eyes instantly turned away not
wanting to meet the Joker’s gaze. “Didn’t think so.” Standing he jerked
the dagger out of the mans hand with one swift move putting his knife away
before leaving the room. It was deathly quiet in the room, as the men realized
just who they were working for.
Harley sat quietly on the bed with a frown on her face. She rested her
head in her hand leaning her elbow on her knee looking at the floor. She had
hoped that he would be pleased with her new look. She had been working on it for
weeks. It was somewhat inspired from the uniforms that she wore as a gymnast,
yet definitely a Harlequin design.
“How can I decide on what I should do to reintroduce myself to the
whole of Gotham, take back what was lost, and make them realize that Gotham is
mine . . . when you come prancing in, flashing all of my henchmen.” Harley
instantly stood from where she sat looking towards the shadow where the voice
was coming from.
“I’m . . . I’m sorry
Mr. J.” She said feeling chills run up and down her spine at the sight of the
dark figure in shadow, and hearing the displeasure in his voice. Yet she turned
her eyes up towards him and cupped her hands behind her back showing some of her
most attractive attributes. “But . . . I wanted to show you what I did for
you.” She said kicking the floor a little bit with her toe. Taking a few steps
towards him she said in a soft mousey voice, “Don’t you like it?”
Suddenly the joker appeared from the shadows, his hand clutching her hair
and pulling her head back as he held the sharp blade of a knife to her throat.
“Your missing the point. These are simple minded drones, who don’t have
enough blood to work both their brains and there dicks. When we’re on a job I
want there minds on what we’re doing . . . not dreaming about your thighs
around their head.” He said looking into her eyes, his face extremely close to
hers. “Maybe . . . . maybe I should carve your face up a bit, to look like
mine . . . hmmm? How about that?” He said moving the knife from her throat to
her mouth. “Make that smile of yours a bit bigger. Slit a grin from ear to
ear.” He said pushing the knife between her lips and holding the blade against
the inside of her cheek.
Yet her reaction startled even him. Looking back into his eyes he saw a
brightness shine in them as she closed her eyes and opened her mouth a bit wider
to give him clear access to mutilate her. She trusted him completely, and if
that’s what he wanted her to look like then she would happily submit to any
sort of manipulation of her features to please him.
He arched a brow leaning his head back slightly as he looked at her hair.
“Blonde? Hmmm?” he said seeing that she had bleached it recently. It made
her look almost childlike as a bit of it was pulled up into two ponytails on
either side of her head. Harley opened her eyes looking up at him again. Only a
moment passed before he removed the knife from her mouth and instead replaced it
with a savage kiss still holding her head tight in it’s pulled back position.
She kissed him back as much as she could when he was holding her in such a way.
Then as quickly as it started, he stopped as he shoved her back away from
him almost causing her to fall to the floor. “It’s missing something.” He
said putting his knife back in his coat. “Fix it.” He said indicating that
she needed more then just the suit she’d made. Then he turned around and left
the room slamming the door.
Harley reached up and touched her mouth. The sharp blade had punctured
the inside of her mouth a little and some blood slipped from the corner of her
lips. Looking at the blood on her fingers a moment she smiled as she wrapped her
lips over her finger tasting the blood smiling towards the door where he had
gone out.
A Night watchman at the city’s museum walked from exhibit to exhibit
making his rounds to be sure all the doors were still locked, everything was
safe, and no one was luring about. As he left each area, he turned on the
security system covering the room with laser beams and alarm booby traps in case
someone was foolish enough to try and steal something.
In the South wing of the museum there were several guards walking the
halls, guarding the priceless collection of gems that were on display. The
exhibit and been touring around the country and next week it was to go on to
it’s next stop over seas. The most precious of these were the Emerald Crown
that was made of silver with a huge oval cut emerald for the ordainment in the
front, The fire heart ruby that was the size of a large mans fist, and a pure
black onyx piece almost as big as a head.
Near the front of the exhibit where people would enter was a special
thanks to Wayne Enterprises for sponsoring this stop on the exhibit’s tour. As
the lights were turned out in the main viewing area and the alarm switched on,
the guards began their shift change for the night.
At once, a shadow appeared in the room and a rather flexible and agile
body began to move gracefully through the space. Going under and over lasers
missing them so the alarm wouldn’t be set off. It made it’s way over to the
alarm system and reached out pressing several buttons. At once the lasers
disappeared and the grates that surrounded the jewels lifted and opened.
Reaching over and hitting the switch, the lights came on filling the room with
light, as each case was lit up with it’s display lights.
Then, the door on the far end opened as several men dressed in black
entered, wearing clown masks. A moment later the Joker appeared and walked over
to a case looking at the jewels inside. He laughed in his trademark psychotic
way as he took out a gun and pointed it at the glass before firing several times
causing it to shatter.
That was enough to set alarms off all over the museum, but when the 911
call was sent out, it stopped directly at the switch box. The wires had been
cut. Instantly the men broke open the other display cases and started grabbing
as many jewels as they good. Joker pulled out the Emerald crown terra and placed
it on his head, before going to the next case and shooting the glass once more
taking out the large Fire Heart ruby.
“Hmmm . . . this should just about cover any gasoline and bullets
I’ll need for the next 10 years.” He said laughing again. Just then his eyes
caught his reflection in the glass and he could see the emerald crown on his
head. He chuckled a bit adjusting it slightly as he played with it a bit.
“Even matches my suit” He said laughing hysterically.
Just then a pounding sound at the door caught their attention. “You’d
think with all this . . . high technology someone would have thought to call the
exterminator for the Gothom rats. They seem to get bigger every year.” He waved to the men who were working for him to get moving
and they all quickly gathered what they had stolen and headed back out the way
they came in.
Four large drums of gasoline had been rolled into the building when they
entered and had been connected together with a detonating device. “It’s a
bit chilly in here isn’t it.” He said making his way for the door. He took
out his cell phone and began punching in a code as he exited the room.
A breath later, a huge explosion completely obliterated the south wing of
the museum. It blew the doors that the guards and security were trying to come
in off the hinges killing six guards. All of Jokers men piled into their
awaiting car and closed the door as they quickly fled the scene.
Watching the huge flaming eyesore that was left behind, the Joker began
to laugh even louder and more hysterically then before. It was quite the calling
card he’d left behind. Beautiful in his chaotic destruction just a few numbers
on a phone had caused.
The Joker sat at a table in his hideout looking through a magnifying eye
piece that jewelers used to inspect fine gems and stones. Chuckling and laughing
as he studied them assessing just how valuable they were.
“Not bad for one nights work.” He said putting one stone down and
picking up the next. “I must congratulate you all on your hard work.” He
glanced up towards the dead and dying bodies laying around the room. A slight
argument on how the loot should be divided left little doubt in the Jokers mind
that these men weren’t what he needed. He wanted men like him, who weren’t
money oriented. Who would do what they were told no matter what. He wasn’t one
to tolerate mutiny’s. “Aww. All tuckered out hmmm?” He said with an evil
laugh, before going back to looking at the large Ruby that he’d stolen. All
the other large gems had already been taken elsewhere, to be sold and traded to
interested buyers.
Suddenly, he felt what could only be eyes on his back. The change of the
pressure in the room, and the dark solemn air about it was a tell tale sign of
just who it was that had entered his hideout uninvited. “Still fighting the
‘good’ fight, hmmm, my friend?”
All at once he was grabbed by the back of his shirt and jerked out of the
chair. The Joker started to cackle when he was thrown across the room against
the wall. “You’re going back to Arkem.” A deep dark voice of the life size
human bat that invaded Jokers layer growled. He seized the Joker again and threw
him across the room headfirst into a table. The crunching sound of cracking wood
as the Joker fell through it to the ground was drowned out only by the psychotic
laughter and amusement of the evil clown. As he started to get up he was grabbed
yet again and punched hard in the face several times before being thrown to the
ground once more.
“It’s over Joker. That little stunt of yours at the museum has
officially made you an international criminal.” He appeared next to him again
and pulled him to his feet throwing him against the wall and wrapping his hand
around his throat. “Your going to be locked up forever, as you always should
have been. And this . . .” He said holding up the Ruby, “Is going back to
where it belongs.”
Suddenly a hand came down from just above the Batman’s head and
snatched the jewel away from him. “For me!” The young woman’s voice said.
“You really shouldn’t have.” She said with a giggle. Caught off guard by
the girl in the rafters, the Batman looked up for a split second. Allowing the
Joker enough time to pull a knife from his pocket and shove it through the arm
that had been holding him to the wall. The Batman bit his lip grasping the
handle of the knife, as the Joker slipped away.
Realizing that the Joker was freed again, he turned to see him starting
to head for the door. But before he could move or do anything, the young woman
who had been above him swung down holding on to the beam she had been sitting on
and kicked him in the chest with both feet sending him flying across the room,
crashing through a wooden cabinet and falling to the floor a but stunned as the
wind had been knocked out of him.
The young woman jumped down from the raptors and giggled holding the
ruby. “Naughty Bats who attack someone in their home shouldn’t be so
rude.” She said looking at him. Looking up he saw the young woman dressed in
black and red spandex wearing a matching jesters hat with her face painted
white. It was a weird thing to see at that. “Bats don’t belong in houses
anyway. They’ve got rabies.”
Suddenly two Batarangs came flying from his hands towards the girl,
hitting her wrist knocking the ruby out of her hand. She frowned, looking at
him. “Your not nice!” Seeing the way she acted and her response, the Batman
decided that it was time to go after the Joker. This little girl was hardly a
threat. Getting up he started to go towards her as she was hunched over her arm
cradling her wrist. He’d tie her up so that she could be collected when the
authorities got there and then track down the joker.
However when he approached her, she swung around kicking him hard in the
side just under his ribcage. Then she began to do forward flips towards him
kicking him in the face several times. As hard as she could causing him to fall
back. The Batman did his best to stay on his feet but was quickly losing focus
with the vicious assault of this young woman. Just as she started to do another
flip he swung out and punched her hard in the face. She fell to the floor
looking up at him in horror. “Why would you do that!” She said sniffling as
she put her hand over her face that had been punched so hard. She started to cry
a little bit, “Why would you hit a girl!” She cried.
Stunned, never really having had to fight a woman before, the Batman was
at a loss instantly regretting having hit it like that. He started to walk
towards her to help her up, yet was greeted by the floor when she spun around
and swept his legs out from under him. His eyes were fuzzy as they were out of
focus. Suddenly he felt a huge weight fall on him, as a large old wooden bureau
was pushed to fall over onto him. Pinning him beneath it. When his sight started
to clear he saw a girl looking down at him from the raptors. “Nice to meet
you!” She shouted before holding the ruby in her mouth and swinging away. A
little confused and at a loss for what had just happened, his head fell back
against the floor as he closed his eyes attempting to catch his breath.
