Thanks to:
Legolas19 - Thank you so much! I’m so happy you liked it!
lelann37 - I promise you that I won’t stop! I will continue this story until the end! Don’t give up on me!
ElvenRanger13 - Thank you! I appreciate it!
orlandoshoney-2004 - I thought it was the author’s job to confuse the readers, not the readers job to confuse the author. Why are you crying? You aren’t crying over the ‘dum’ story are you?
Starlit Hope - Yeah, Mr. Brown is going to be alright in this story. I didn’t want to settle for the cliché abusive Brown. I like being different.
Pookie - Yeah, Mr. Brown knows. Didn’t think I could do what I wanted to do without him knowing. All will be revealed in due time. Might take me a couple flashbacks and prequel to get it clear, but it’ll get there.
MahieSparrow - To tell the truth, I didn’t enjoy writing all of those dialogues. It was dull. Should’ve just skipped it all, but I might have confused more people than I already have.
Rose - Of course nothing will beat the first! I’m not naïve enough to believe my idiotic story will even compare to the original.
Rutaari - Thanks! I’m with you, I didn’t like the dialogue. It was boring! No more dialogue from the movie, well, maybe a little, but not that much at the same time!
MustIBeAMalfoy - I love you because you love the story! This will be a rewrite of the entire story! For better, or for worst. As I said before, I’m stepping out of the cliché, especially with Mr. Brown.
Sarryn - Thank you! I’m so glad you’re interested!
Merebear - I don’t want to kill you, just torture you. Hope you like this chapter!
Glorry - You’ve done given me the greatest compliment yet. Never read a story like this! YES! SUCCESS! (Morelen: hee hee, that rhymed. Agarwaenloth: Shut up, stupid. You totally do not live up to your name. Why did Morgoth curse me with such an incompetent counterpart! Morelen: Hey! I‘m not as incompetent as some of our other selves! Agarwaenloth: True.)
Lexy - You drove me to update! Most wonderful story ever heard! You’re wonderful!
A Will to Survive
Chapter 2
“Come here, boy. Want a nice juicy bone? Come here. Come on.”
The other prisoners were annoying Jack. Usually, he would just finding them pathetically amusing, but not today. Today, he was locked up in this tiny little cell and Will was out there, in danger. “You can keep doing that forever, the dog is never going to move.”
“Oh, excuse us if we haven't resigned ourselves to the gallows just yet,” one of the prisoners replied, infuriating Jack even more. How dare this man accuse him of giving up? He was Captain Jack Sparrow! He would never give up! Especially not when it might cost Will his life.

That night Will hammered attempted to hammer all of his frustration and anguish into a sword he was working on. He knew that Mr. Brown had his reasons, but he didn’t really care. All he wanted was for Jack to be safe, and now he was going to be hanged because of him! If Jack hadn’t have come here for Will, none of this would have ever happened. Why did Jack always have to put Will in front of himself?
//Flashback//
Will had just recently become the apprentice of Mr. Brown, the local blacksmith. He knew he didn’t fit in here in Port Royal. He knew his pirate blood didn’t allow him to, no matter how much he wanted or tried to. He didn’t think he had a chance to ever do as he really wanted. He could remember vividly the pirate captain that he idolized. All he wanted to do was join his crew. Problem was that said pirate captain had to recover his ship first and then actually get a crew. Not that Will was ever going to see him again. The thought caused his heart to sink. Young though he may be, he knew that he loved the pirate, no matter how foolish that may be. Sighing, Will stepped into his darkened room. He was frightened when he felt a hand clamp over his mouth and immediately started struggling.
“Shh, lad, it’s me,” a familiar voice whispered into his ear. The voice stilled Will. The hand from his mouth was removed and he turned to look at his unexpected visitor.
“Jack,” Will said, hardly daring to believe his eyes. “What are you doing here?”
“What? Did ye really think that I would leave ye on ye own in this backwards port? Yer parents’ ghosts would haunt me forever if I did that!”
//End of Flashback//
That was the first of many visits he had had from Jack Sparrow, visits that eventually led to their declarations of love.
//Flashback//
Will started as he felt hands grab him from behind. He turned around quickly, maybe a little too quickly because he lost his balance and would have fallen if not for the arms that wrapped around him and held him up. He looked up and his eyes met the beautifully familiar eyes of Jack Sparrow. When he noticed the close proximity of the pirate and the fact that he still had his arms around him, his breath caught in his throat. Before he could stop himself, he brushed his lips against those of the older man’s. He froze when he realized what he was doing. He pulled back and stared at Jack in fear.
“Jack, I—
” he stammered out before being cut off by Jack’s lips pressing sounding against his own. He instantly melted into the kiss, opening his mouth eagerly as the pirate’s tongue probed for entrance. When their lips separated for want of breath, they were both smiling.
“Jack, I love you,” Will admitted, hoping that his declaration wouldn’t be rejected.
“And I you, Will,” Jack said before leaning in for another blissful kiss.
//End of Flashback//
Will suddenly felt an eerie feeling in the air and remembered the reason Jack had come this time. He abandoned his hammering to open the window and look out. Nothing stirred on the street and for some reason, this caused him to become even more worried.

Jack started from his position in his cell as he heard the cannon fire. “I tho those guns,” he said moving toward the barred window. “It’s the Pearl.” An ominous fear settled into his gut. He knew what this meant and knew who they were after. ‘Will.’ His heart cried out in anguish as he thought of what would happen to the man he loved if Barbossa got a hold on him.
His thoughts were interrupted, however, by a prisoner who had heard his statement about the Pearl. “The Black Pearl? I’ve heard stories. She’s been preying on ships and settlements for near ten years. Never leaves any survivors.”
“No survivors? Then where do the stories come from, I wonder?” Jack asked. This seemed to confuse his fellow prisoners and left him to his own thoughts.
‘Please, Will, just stay out of this battle. Stay safe.’

As soon as the attack on Port Royal began, Will immediately grabbed his sword, a hatchet, and a knife and headed out to fight the invaders. He felt a twinge of guilt as he rushed out of the smithy, knowing that Jack would be against him fighting, but it was immediately purged as he killed a pirate with his hatchet, saving a young maid.
He continued to fight his way through the chaos of people until he ran into a particularly difficult pirate who managed to get a hold on him and render him defenseless.
“Say goodbye,” the pirate snarled. Only Will’s relatively good reflexes allowed him to move out of the way of a falling sign that ended up smashing the pirate through the window behind him.
“Goodbye,” Will said, and then caught sight of a bunch of pirates ushering Elizabeth toward their ship. Although Will thought it impossible, he could have sworn he had killed one of them earlier with his hatchet. However, he didn’t have much time to ponder this as he felt something impact the back of his head and his world went dark.

The walls of the jail shook as a cannon blasted away the wall of the cell next to Jack. The prisoners in the cell scrambled to escape. One of the prisoners stopped to look at Jack. “My sympathies, friend, you’ve no manner of luck at all.” And then, Jack was alone.
Jack walked over to the bars that separated the two cells. He vainly tried to squeeze himself out of the small hole that the blast had created in the wall of his cell. After giving that up, he took a look at the battle outside. His heart stopped at the sight of Will’s prone body lying in the middle of the street. From his distance, he could not tell if he still breathed, but hoped against hope that he did.
He had to get out. He had to go to Will. He picked up a bone lying on the ground and held it out. “Come on, doggy. It’s just you and me now. It’s you and ol’ Jack . Come on. Come on, good boy. That a good boy, come on! Bit closer, bit closer. That’s it, that’s it, doggy. Come on you filthy, slimy, mangy cur.” There was a sudden crashing coming down the stairs and the dog ran off. “No, no, no, no, no, I didn’t mean it. I didn’t…”
Two pirates that Jack recognize as Twigg and Koehler, two of his former mutinous crew.
“This ain’t the armory,” Twigg exclaims.
“Well well well, look what we have here, Twigg —
Captain Jack Sparrow,” Koehler taunted after noticing Jack.
“Last time I saw you, you were all alone on a godforsaken island, shrinking into the distance,” Twigg chuckled. “His fortunes haven’t improved much.”
Jack glared at them. “Worry about your own fortunes, gentlemen. The deepest circle of Hell is reserved for betrayers and mutineers.”
Koehler grabbed Jack’s throat, the moonlight revealing his skeleton arm. “You know nothing of Hell.” With that, the two pirates left him.
By the way Koehler had talked, Jack knew that they were desperate for the curse to be lifted. He also knew that Barbossa and his crew would want compensation from the one who had delayed the breaking of the curse. His mind went back to the motionless form of Will. He only hoped that his identity remained a mystery to the cursed pirates.
