Lo’kesh could feel the heat from Su’tara cheeks as he
caressed them softly. He held her for a while and they talked, though it was
hard for him to do being she continuously moved herself against him. He could
tell she wasn’t ready and if he had to take small steps with her until that
time comes, he was fine doing such. “Thank you, for holding me,” Su’tara
purred.
“Whenever you like,” he playfully scratched her waist and
she trilled softly. After he held her they went to eat in her quarters with
Ta’noj. “Your family…” he paused before asking the question. “Something is
going on. Why would elder Ne’el leave?”
“My uncle was never the elder,” Su’tara corrected. Su’tara
frowned before answering his question. “I care for you, but until you are my
mate I think it is in our best interest to not engage on this topic.”
“I can respect your decision,” he nodded.
“My family is looking to acquire technology from the
Jafren,” she blurted. “They are more willing to negotiate if an ooman is the
leader.”
“Su’tara,” Ta’noj roared at her.
She turned around to see her brother walking into the
room. “I can’t keep that from him,” Su’tara whined. “He is to become my mate
soon. Lo’kesh asked me.”
Ta’noj walked up to Lo’kesh. “A lot of others may not
agree with what we are doing,” he looked at both of them. “If any of this gets
out you could endanger our family, and yourself.”
“Ta’noj is right,” Lo’kesh nodded at him. “From my
understanding the Jafren is a very peaceful species that hurts no one. I for
one disagree with any sort of deceit or trickery, but I respect you enough to
not say anything. Good luck with your family mission.”
“Thank you,” Ta’noj nodded to him. Lo’kesh shook his
shoulder before leaving. As he walked out Kul’vir walked in.
“Are you still involved with that boy?” he growled.
“That is not your concern Uncle,” Su’tara growled in
return. “What do you want?” Su’tara had a hard time getting along with Kul’vir
and Maha’vin. Though she only spent a short time with him, Ne’el had to be her
favorite. She thought Kul’vir was far too involved in her personal life, even
on the other ship.
“He is a former eta,” he argued. “What type of lineage
does he have?”
“Like I said,” Su’tara snarled at him. “It is not your
concern. You are not my father!”
“How can we help you?” Ta’noj questioned as he walked in
between the two. Now that his mother told him everything, he could see how
Su’tara, Maha’vin and Kul’vir possessed the same quick temper. They both had
little tolerance for people they disliked.
“I was looking for your father,” Kul’vir looked over at
him.
“He is in a meeting with Ya’sha and Sa’dar,”
Kul’vir nodded to Ta’noj before looking back at Su’tara.
“If I was able to be your father I would forbid you from seeing such a low
life.”
“And if I were your daughter I would disown you and join
another clan,” she growled. They stared at each other a moment longer before he
walked out.
“Would you really leave if he were your father?” Ta’noj
questioned as Su’tara walked to her room.
“Yes.”
(The Gro’thon-ious Ship)
As Kayla got dressed she kept staring at the lock of hair
she placed carefully on the dresser. She remembered when Ga’gan gave it to her
to perform the d.n.a. test. She carried it with her like a good luck charm. As
she looked at it, she realized it was his proof to who he really was. It would
only take a few seconds and he would realize he was Ga’gan. She pondered what
would happen afterwards. Would she have to resume her duties of being his mate?
She loved Sh’lok and though some of her feelings came rushing back, she didn’t
see herself with Ga’gan any longer. She quickly put it away when she heard
Shra’van call her name. Kayla walked into the foyer and smiled at him. “What’s
wrong?” he questioned.
“Nothing,” she smoothed out his shirt. He wore the exact
same thing as his father when they went to Ne’el’s party. “You look just like
your father.”
“Thank you,” he nodded. “I still wish to learn your,” he
corrected himself. “The ooman language.”
“I will not teach you my language to make it easy for you
to kill,” she argued.
“I wish to learn out of curiosity,” he explained. “Not to
hunt.” Kayla gave her son a skeptical look. “I have been talking to Bra’non. He
knows several of your…” he paused for a moment. “Our species languages. Will
you teach me?”
“Yes,” she smiled. “If you tell me someday what you and
Bra’non discussed.”
He shook her shoulder in agreement.
Kayla stared at him for a moment. “Do you have any weapons
on you?”
“Mother,” he sighed in disbelief.
The guards showed up to escort them to the dining area
that was used for guests and elders. Lex and her family were already seated
along with the elder of the ship and his mates. Kayla formally nodded to him
and his mates before sitting down. “I must ask why would that old Yautja
Sa’tesh, allow an ooman and a young Yautja run his second ship?” Elder Chi’rayu
questioned as they ate.
Kayla was not prepared for his questioning. She didn’t
think she would meet him yet alone speak with him. “With all due respect Elder
Chi’rayu, I do not possess the answer to that question.”
“Yes you do Kayla,” he growled. “Do not lie to me.”
“Do not call my mother a liar,” Shra’van growled.
“Excuse my sons’ outburst,” Kayla patted Shra’van’s leg.
“Do you wish to explain why you are being followed by the
Jafren,” he roared at her.
Shra’van quickly
stood up. Kayla held her sons arm as he snarled at the ships leader. Several
guards walked closer ready to attack. Chi’rayu raised his hand and the guards
took a step back. He stared at Shra’van and nodded. The elder noticed the young
male was ready to attack both guards and he had weapons on his body that were
concealed. He noticed them as Shra’van readied himself and he was very
impressed. “Your son is very bold to show aggression towards an Elder and to
bring weapons to my table. You may want to explain to him how his actions can
get him killed.”
“Shra’van, please,” Kayla whispered to him. “I asked if
you had any weapons on you.”
“And I never answered,” he growled. She tugged at his hair
to get his attention. He looked at her and nodded before sitting back down.
“My ship had never been followed by this species,”
Chi’rayu growled. “They followed you here and they are monitoring any
communication we have with other ships.”
Kayla looked over at Lex and started to speak in English.
“Should I tell him? Is he trustworthy?”
“You can trust our leader, Kayla,” Scar replied. Kayla
looked at him in shock and he chuckled.
“Lex taught me your language long ago. Whatever is going on with you and
the Jafren, he is trustworthy and understanding.”
Kayla turned to look
at the older Yautja who stood and stared at her. She could tell he was growing
impatient. “May I talk to you in private?” Kayla questioned.
“Very well,” he nodded. “Everyone, enjoy your meal.” He
nodded to some guards and they escorted him and Kayla out of the room and down
several corridors. He looked down at her every once in a while out of
curiosity. The elder couldn’t understand what Scar or Sh’lok could see in them.
They were so small and fragile looking. They walked into a room that was
decorated more like a study with a large round table. When he sat down Kayla
sat across from him. She slowly started to tell him everything.
“You almost died,” Bra’non joked as he walked Shra’van
back to his quarters.
“I am not afraid of him,” he growled. He heard a soft purr
and a few trills behind him and suddenly turned around. It was a few of
Bra’non’s sisters. Shra’van stopped and stared into Em’mi’s eyes. This time she
stared back at him.
“Very impressive Shra’van,” she purred softly as she
walked around him. “Very impressive indeed. I do hope to see you spar
tomorrow.”
“You will,” he nodded as she walked away.
“He’s cute,” one of his sisters’ said in English. Shra’van
looked at her as the females trilled. “His eyes are gorgeous.”
Em’mi noticed his confusion. “You do not speak our second
language?”
“No.”
“Pity,” she shook her head.
“Do not pity me,” he growled at her. “My past decision was
by choice.”
“I will teach you while you are here, if you like,” Em’mi
stepped closer to him. He smelled her scent. It was stronger than any female he
had ever been with and yet she was not in heat.
“I would like that,” he nodded. She touched his cheek with
the back of her hand before walking away with her sisters. Shra’van noticed she
looked just as wonderful from the back.
“To bad she is half ooman,” Bra’non teased. Shra’van
grunted as they continued to walk.
“So you really think this plan will work?” Chi’rayu
questioned.
“They followed me here,” Kayla shrugged her shoulders.
“And they made contact. They wish to meet my family upon my return back to
their quadrant.”
“This is indeed impressive,” he nodded. “Very risky. Have
you been taught the elders language?”
“Yes,” she replied in the language he questioned her
about. “It was one of the first things I had to learn.”
He nodded in approval. “I respect what you are doing for
our species.”
Kayla nodded to him and stood up. “But you may have a slight
problem.”
“What is that?”
“I do not know how Sa’tesh is going to react when he finds
out his son, that he thought was dead for over twenty five years is actually a
part of your clan.”
“Whom are you referring to?” he growled.
“Ju’hi.”
Ju’hi smiled as Kayla
laughed and looked up at the tall trees. Taking her arm, he noticed the juice
of the fruit in her hand sliding down slowly towards her armpit. He gently
licked it away. With each inch her scent became stronger.
They were suddenly
in another part of the ship. He pushed her body forcefully against the wall. He
felt on her breast for the first time and groaned. He wanted to impale himself
deep in her body but noticed they were standing next to a familiar looking
door.
“Please don’t stop,” she begged as she bit his hand to
get his attention.
“Kayla,” he groaned.
Ju’hi sat up in bed growling in lust as he looked down at
Na’lam resting next to him. He woke her up, licking on her breast and on her
arm. Na’lam woke up slowly.
“Ju’hi,” she spoke softly. She felt him climb on top of
her, nipping her body along the way. “Another dream?”
“Does it matter?” he growled seductively as he opened her
legs wider. “I want you Na’lam.”
Na’lam knew it wasn’t her he really wanted. She noticed
that look on his face before. He wanted to ravish her body in long hard
strokes. Ju’hi pushed hard into her unprepared body. Na’lam roared loudly and
Ju’hi shuddered from the sensation. He didn’t give her any time to adjust. He
started to pound into her body as if they have been mating all night. Na’lam
never told her mate no, even when she was expecting. The only time she wanted
to push him away is when he woke up from one of his erotic dreams. In no time
Ju’hi roared as he grabbed her hips and shoved himself inside her for his
release.
He slowly pulled himself from her body and laid next to
her. He suddenly wanted to take a shower. Na’lam looked at him carefully when
he asked her to join him. She hesitated, but did as he liked.
Kayla had to endure Lex teasing early the next morning.
“Your son likes my daughter,” Lex teased as she sat on
Kayla’s bed. “Don’t tell me you are still not used to the Yautja sleeping
pattern.”
Kayla shook her head no and yawned. “Is he interested in
K’lee?” She was one of Lex daughter’s that looked completely Yautja.
“No, Em’mi,” Lex laughed as she watched the surprised
expression on her face. “My thoughts exactly. She is teaching him how to speak
our language today.”
“Why didn’t I take this trip long ago?” Kayla chuckled as
she slowly got dressed. Kayla thought of Ga’gan. “Where is Ga’gan?”
“You can not call him that Kayla,” Lex sighed as she
walked closer to her. “Not until we know it is truly him.”
She turned around and looked at Lex. “You saw how he reacted
to me. Do you really doubt me?” Lex shook her head no.
“He is sparring with my son.”
“I have an idea,” Kayla smiled.
“Oh God,” Lex mumbled. “For the record, I never like your
ideas.”
They walked slowly to the hall. It was much different from
the ships she had been on. On Kayla’s ship there were a few sparring halls. On
Lex‘s ship it was just one, but it was bigger
than any room Kayla had ever seen. “Damn, this is huge. It amazes me every
time.” The first time Kayla stepped into the sparring hall on Lex’s ship, she
was immediately turned on by all the male Yautja’s fighting. Some even growled
at her to leave so they could continue to fight. She looked around and sighed.
“Good luck finding him,” Lex joked.
Kayla stopped walking and closed her eyes. It was so many
males in the hall and she could pick up on their scent, but Ga’gan‘s scent she surly
remembered. It turned her on when he was standing near her and she started to
smell it again. It was even stronger when he was sweating. “Over there,” Kayla pointed.
Lex gasped as she watched Ju’hi and her son spar. “How did
you do that?”
“He used to be my mate,” Kayla smiled. Ju’hi looked at
her, not seeing the blow that was delivered directly to his head from Rua’khe.
Kayla and Lex grimaced from the sound of the stick hitting him. “Are you
alright?”
“I seem to have lost my memory,” he groaned, Kayla looked
at him a moment before laughing. He trilled softly from hearing her laugh. “Why
do you wear female fighting clothes?”
“I like to spar,” Kayla smiled.
“But that is not the way of a breeder,” he shook his head.
“Yes I know, you always told me that…” Kayla’s voice
trailed off. She stepped away from him and stood by Lex.
Ju’hi could feel the tension between them. “I take it you
never listened.” When Kayla smiled he went back to sparring with Rua’khe.
Kayla watched him for a moment, not paying attention to
the other males that were watching her. They had seen
Kayla before, but never prepared to spar. “I knew he would never forget,” Kayla
whispered to Lex. “He still fights like the members of his family.”
“That is one thing he
remembered,” Lex nodded. “No one knew of his fighting style and your clan never
engages in friendly matches. We had nothing to compare it to.”
“Ok I yield,” Rua’khe growled out of breath. Ju’hi
chuckled and shook his friends shoulder. He looked at Kayla again. She tilted
her head to the side as she watched him.
“I wish to spar with you,” she smiled.
“You really know how to fight?” Ju’hi laughed. “I will
hurt you. Look at you. My style is different from everyone else’s. I may break
your body.”
“Trust me,” Kayla laughed as she pulled out her sticks.
Ju’hi reached for them and looked at her sticks carefully. He laughed and
handed them back to her.
I hope this works, Kayla thought as she stood in
her stance. Ju’hi groaned in delight before attacking her.
“Ok so what would you like to learn first?” Em’mi
questioned as she sat on his bed.
“What do you think is best?” Shra’van sat in a chair
across from her.
“Is there certain phrases you would like to learn first?”
Shra’van nodded. “Teach me how to say … for you to be half
ooman you are very beautiful and I would like to get to know you better.”
Em’mi blushed and looked away. “Whom would you like to say
this to?”
“Need you ask?” Shra’van grunted. He reached over and felt
on her hand gently.
“Well, you are very alluring, to be half ooman,” Em’mi
mocked. When he growled at her she trilled softly. Em’mi leaned forward and
Shra’van grazed his mandibles across her neck and groaned from the sudden hint
of her scent. He looked in her eyes again.
“Maybe I should teach you something,” she whispered.
Shra’van thought about his mother and sister. “You already
have.”
“Mother, she is good,” Rua’khe nodded as they watched
Kayla and Ju’hi.
“I think it is her mate,” Lex sighed. By now, Ju’hi would
have his opponent on the ground, but he barely managed to touch Kayla. “She
fights just like him.”
“I can see why she is so sought after in her clan,”
Rua’khe crossed his arms and trilled softly. Lex playfully elbowed her son.
When Ju’hi finally got her into a choke hold he inhaled
her scent and groaned. Kayla smiled knowing he did it every time.
Kayla took advantage of his momentary weakness and elbowed
him before pushing him over. The males whom were watching nodded in approval.
“We fight the same,” he stood up as he stared at her. Kayla nodded before
walking over to Lex.
“His mate, Na’lam is a very sweet female,” Lex mumbled to
her when her son walked away. “Do not go there with him Kayla.”
“He is my mate,” Kayla snapped. She quickly recanted her
words. “He was my mate. Lex I just want him to remember.”
“Don’t try to change your words,” she huffed at her
friend. “You said it right the first time. Go ahead Kayla, ruin two families.
His and yours.” Lex sighed and shook her head. Kayla was grateful that whenever
Lex and she spoke it was always in English. She was sure that Ju’hi was
listening.
Lex smiled and reached her hand out to her mate. Scar
pushed her close to his body and grazed her neck. “Excuse me,” Kayla nodded to
them before walking out.
She didn’t understand why she immediately thought of
Ga’gan rather than Sh’lok. When the doors closed she leaned against the wall
and took a deep breath. Maybe Lex was right, she thought to herself.
Kayla suddenly felt guilty about the whole ordeal. She was flirting and
couldn’t stop herself. She tried to hold onto that anger she felt during the
last few days she saw Ga’gan all those years ago, but it was gone. Now she
wanted to hold him. She wanted to tell him about Su’tara and beg for his
forgiveness so she could move on mentally. At the same time she wanted to feel
his mandibles grazing her neck and look into his eyes. Kayla wiped her tears
away as she looked up at the ceiling, hoping to find an answer. She started to
walk back to her quarters as soon as the doors opened.
“Kayla,” Ju’hi called her. He walked around and looked in
her eyes. “I have seen that pain before. I feel it sometimes in my dreams.”
“I’m confused,” Kayla whispered. “I should not be around
you right now. Maybe you should go be with your mate.” Kayla wanted to cringe
when she said the words, but suddenly felt guilty again for thinking such
selfish thoughts.
“She has agreed to allow me to spend time with you,” he
told her. Ju’hi touched Kayla’s face.
“She did not give you permission to touch me,” Kayla
shivered slightly. He looked at her arm.
“A temporary change in your skin caused by your emotions.”
After saying the words he gasped. “You told me that. I remember.” He laughed in
disbelief. “You like gas balls.”
“Who doesn’t like gas balls,” Kayla chuckled.
“No one,” he shrugged his shoulders. He watched Kayla
stare at him for a moment. She nodded and turned away. “Will you eat with me?
My mate is serving food in our quarters in a moment. I would like for you to
meet her.”
Kayla was curious about how she looked, but how could she
eat with the female she suddenly felt jealous over. “Maybe some other time.”
“Well, after my meal, may I come see you?” Kayla didn’t
respond at first.
“I have to check on my son,” she blurted.
“Kayla,” he paused for a moment. “You say you were my
mate. Do we have pups?” Ju’hi couldn’t read her expression, and she never
bothered to answer.
When Kayla reached her quarters Shra’van was in her room.
“Hello Mother,” he said in English. Kayla laughed and
covered her mouth in shock.
“Hello Shra’van,” she finally responded.
“How are you?” he spoke slowly. Kayla couldn’t stop
smiling. It was like hearing him talk for the first time.
“I am great,” Kayla chuckled.
“Ok that is all I know,” he nodded. “Em’mi is teaching
me.” Kayla saw his eyes light up when he mentioned her name.
“Shra’van, how can you even look at her?” Kayla teased.
“She is half ooman.”
“She is not as ugly as you and Su’tara,” he joked. Shocked
by his teasing, she threw a pillow at him. Shra’van chuckled and threw it back
before leaving. Kayla almost cried. That was the best few moments she had with
her son in years.
That evening Kayla ate in her quarters alone. Shra’van ate
with Em’mi. Kayla stayed in bed the next day, pondering what she should do. Lex
knew if she wanted to talk she would contact her. Ju’hi couldn’t wait that
long.
Kayla wrapped a cloth around her and answered the door.
Ju’hi walked right in without asking to enter. “I licked something off your arm
that caused you to laugh,” he blurted. "We were surrounded by trees."
“You gave me a seba to try,” Kayla remembered. “The juice
ran down my arm and you stopped it with your tongue.” She thought back to that
day and smiled as she clinched the sheet.
“What happen after that?” He stepped closer to her,
touching her warm cheeks.
“You got on your knees,” Kayla spoke in a low tone as if
someone else were in the room. “And brought me to orgasm with your tongue.
Excuse me.” Kayla went into her room to get dressed. When she allowed the cloth
to fall to the floor Ju’hi groaned. She quickly turned around. “Why are you in
my room? I did not invite you in here.”
“I am sorry, I did not know you were coming in here to
change,” he said not moving. He stared at her body as he walked closer. Kayla
quickly looked away. She reached down for the sheet that was at her feet, but
he stopped her.
“Ga’gan,” she whispered. His scent became stronger, and
she was certain hers was as well. Every time he touched her she felt herself
weakening.
“I have a brother named Kul’vir,” he touched her face. “As
sickening as this question may sound, why does your body remind me of him?” He
caressed her neck and slowly touched her chest. She felt his hand moving over
to her right breast. Kayla hesitated for a moment before she moved away. As she
wrapped the sheet around herself she told him about Kul’vir’s ritual and how he
touched her.
“Is he well?” Ju’hi questioned sitting next to her.
“He is on the second ship with me,” Kayla nodded. “Would
you like to visit? Your family would love to see you.”
“I have no doubt that I am who you say I am,” he stared at
her. “I am not ready to see them, until my memory comes back. Until then you
cannot tell them about me. I am not ready to be their Ga’gan.”
“They will be happy to see you,” Kayla protested.
“Everyone misses you greatly.”
“Including you?”
“I have a mate,” Kayla reminded him.
“So do I,” he reminded her, “But it still does not stop me
from seeing and wanting you in my dreams, and right now.” He stood up and
looked at her. “When I close my eyes to rest you are there. You have only been
here a few days and damn if I do not want you. I never felt such an
uncontrollable desire to mate with a female.” Kayla gripped the sheets as his
scent became stronger.
“Please leave,” she quickly wiped her tears away.
“What is the name of your mate?”
“Sh’lok, son of …”
“Sh’lok,” he repeated with a growl. “Why do I picture a
male who is fucking everything?” Kayla started to laugh. “No, this is not
funny. He has a serious problem with keeping it in his cloth. The male that I
picture, with intense green eyes, is that your mate?”
“Yes,” Kayla smiled, “But he is not like that, anymore.”
“Humph,” Ju’hi crossed his arms.
“Really, he is a wonderful father.”
“Is he a wonderful mate?” Ju’hi questioned. When Kayla
didn’t answer quick enough he growled at her.
“We have our share of problems, like any other couple,”
Kayla turned away from his stare. “I have always had little self control when
it came to being around you. Maybe you should leave.”
“I am beginning to think that maybe I had the same
problem,” he sighed. When he touched her shoulder, Kayla turned around to look
at him. “We mated before our ritual?”
Kayla pointed to the marks she left on his shoulder and to
the mark on her neck. “I asked the doctor to not remove it. Sh’lok understood
it was all I had left of you.”
“If I have more questions, may I return?”
“Of course.” When he left Kayla sat down and sighed. She
started to mumble profanities as she walked over to answer her com a moment
later.
“I have more questions,” He crossed his arms and trilled
softy. Kayla shook her head and smiled as he walked in.
