Another chapter for you. Hope you like it.
loner654:
I'm always picturing Lu like that too. And the cravings? Demon, is
all I'll say.
Loki: Well,
I was disgusted at the chocolate steaks myself, but that idea just
stuck in my head. And no, you won't get a hint, because I'm an evil
little author.

Tierchen:
The baby will make itself known soon. And to give you a little

Chapter 17 – Hellish women and heavenly
support
One Monday morning
Angela found a couple of files about ritualistic murders that had
occurred at the last weekend on her desk.
She didn't know why, but they made her senses tingle in alarm.
Suspecting that there was a demon behind the brutal occurrences
the Detective quickly came to the conclusion that she needed the help
of a certain demon specialist.
It had been over a
month, since she had last seen John. Whenever she had called him or
gone to his flat, he had been absent. If she didn't know better,
Angela would have thought that he avoided her. But John didn't avoid
people, but instead told them to stay away in his unbelievably rude
way.
And he had never pushed
her away like that. On the contrary. Whenever she had needed John's
help, he had immediately been there,
although the stubborn exorcist had always refused to go out with her.
Maybe she could convince him this time. Replacing her uniform with a
tight fitting blouse and a short skirt, she readied herself to
finally met John again and surely win him over this time.

When the doorbell rang
Balthazar was glad for the distraction. John had once again left him
alone to perform an exorcism and sitting around in the apartment was
not the most interesting activity he could imagine.
Walking over to the
door a smirk spread over his face as he recognized the scent of the
visitor. The little Detective bitch. Now he could finally have some
fun. It had been too long since he had done something more sinister
than swatting a fly on the wall and screwing with her emotions was
something that offered him endless opportunities
to be his demony self. He couldn't wait to see her face, when she
realized that he was John's lover.
Opening the door he
grinned at her shocked expression. Obviously she had expected John,
just to be confronted with a demon that had not only been blown to
pieces in front of her eyes, but whom John also supposedly
hated with a passion.
“You? But John killed you.”
Balthazar casually leaned against the open door, never taking his
eyes off the nervous Detective. She was no match for his demonic
powers, but it was still better if he kept his attention on her. Not
even bothering to answer her, Balthazar waited for Angela to
continue.
“I thought demons can't break
into John's flat. What are you doing here?” Clever girl.
Mentally snickering Bally wondered how long it would take her to
figure it out. The longer she needed, the more fun it would be for
him.
“They can't break in here.”
It took a few seconds before realization, shock and disbelief spread
over her face, just to be quickly replaced by a mask of firm denial.
So she didn't believe that her wonderful
hero would sleep with a half-breed. Maybe he should enlighten her
about Ellie.
“You lying bastard. John would
never let you in here. You killed his friends and he hates you.”
“His friends? Yeah, they were
fun. Almost as much as your sister.” The hurt and anger
suddenly radiating off the Detective were like a perfect drug to his
senses. There was nothing better than human pain and sorrow for a
demon and it had been too long since he had last had the pleasure to
feel it. When the first waves of her pain were replaced by rage,
Balthazar readied himself for her attack and quickly moved out of the
way as she tried to strike him.
“Killing her was almost as
much fun as fucking John is.” Oh, yes. That punch had hit it's
mark, too. Her anger and pain had increased tenfold, but she didn't
really believe him yet. Accusing Balthazar of lying Angela attacked
again and once again missed Balthazar due to his demonic speed.
“John would never be with you.
You're a lying half-breed. And he is interested in me.” She
needed to work on her insults. John called him worse things as pet
names on a daily basis, causing her pitiful
attempts at cursing to add to his amusement. Unable to hold himself
back any longer Balthazar started laughing. When she launched her
next attack at him, he tried to use his demonic speed to avoid her
again, but suddenly it was gone.
Lucifer. Dammit. He
should have known that the arrogant prick would interfere again.
Balthazar tried to get away as one of her hands closed around his
throat and pushed him into the closest wall. Usually he should have
still been able to get out of her grip, but obviously Lu had
increased her strength.
“This is for lying, you
bastard.” Raising her free hand that she had balled into a
fist, Angela was about to hit his face. But her hand was captured in
mid-strike.

It had been a while
since Chas had last visited Balthazar and John, but as far as he had
heard, the two of them were doing fairly well together. Although it
wasn't easy to keep taps on them while he was busy on his heavenly
missions, he had always gotten information from other angels, who
seemed to be very interested in the pregnancy.
He had even heard some
rumors, that Balthazar was helping John with his exorcisms, which
obviously thrilled everybody in heaven. But Chas didn't believe in
them all that much, not because he couldn't imagine that Balthazar
wanted to help out, but rather that John had never allowed anybody to
help him with his exorcisms. Well, at least
not him. And if he would have been able to carry a grudge, he would
probably still be mad about it.
But as it were, he had
never been able to be mad at John's behavior
for more than five seconds, after he had understood that it wasn't
something personal, but rather the way that John was. Preparing
himself for the rush to the earth plane, Chas focused on John's
living room and appeared there.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~+~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sight he
encountered was nothing he had imagined to see. Balthazar was pinned
to the wall, while Angela held his throat. At first the situation
seemed surreal, because a human shouldn't
be able to overpower a half-breed. Then it occurred
to him that this was probably another of Lu's schemes
to hurt their baby and Chas quickly rushed to interfere.
Catching Angela's fist,
before it could connect to Balthazar's face, the angel quickly
stepped between the Detective and the half-breed. Angela had been
surprised when Chas had suddenly appeared out of nowhere and had let
go of Balthazar's throat. Protectively stretching his wings to shield
the pregnant demon, he waited for her reaction.
“Get out of my way.”
Angela's anger hadn't broken yet. The wounds her sister's death had
torn into her heart had barely been healed over and now Balthazar had
ripped them open again. So the only thing she could think about was
to punish the one who had done that to her.
“No. I can't.” Chas
firmly stood his ground. As an angel he had neither the duty nor the
right to protect a demon half-breed, but Angela didn't know that.
Balthazar kept silent, hiding behind his wings, although Chas
suspected that the small sounds he heard the whole time were
suppressed snickering. That should by all
rights invoke his disapprovement, but he
had never liked Angela anyway.
“But he is responsible for
your death. How can you protect him? And he dared to tell me that he
is John's lover, which has to be a lie.” Ah, so that was the
real problem. Personally he thought that Balthazar was far better for
John than she could ever have been, but he was far to nice a person
to voice such thoughts out loud.
Instead he replied: “He
wasn't responsible for my death, not that it matters now anyway. And
no one can fault him for telling the truth.”
Her face instantly fell
as she whispered 'no' over and over. It just couldn't be. Why would
John want to be with something as vile as a demon half-breed. He
hated and exorcised these things. It had to be some strange kind of
possession that forced John to be with Balthazar. But as long as the
angel was protecting the demon, there was nothing she could do about
it.
Storming out of the
apartment, she didn't even see Balthazar's triumphant grin and Chas'
neutral expression, that was threatening to turn into a small smile.
