A few weeks went by fast and Jack and I never mentioned what I had told him about the future. We sold papes together, but of course I also sold papes with the other newsies once in awhile. Sometimes if I got to thinking, I would be doing the "what ifs" and then I would have to stop myself and sigh. Not many of the fans of Newsies had Crutchy as their favorite newsie, he was kind of mine in a way, I mean he made me laugh so much all the time, so one day I decided to go selling with him. I picked the selling spot and so we started to sell. Damn those Delancey brothers though. We were almost done when out of nowhere they come and knock Crutchy down.
Oscar: Well, well look at the gimp.
Crutchy: Oh hi Oscar.
Morris: Look who he has with him.
Oscar: The four eyed shrimp.
Morgan: Who ya calling a shrimp, ya fricking dirt bags!
Crutchy: Lit'l Bit....
Morris: You're name is Lit'l Bit?
Morris starts to laugh and then grabs Crutchy.
Morris: Hey gimp, give us your money.

Oscar: You hear him?
Morgan: Are you fricking deaf?

They both leave and I roll my eyes.
Morgan: Jack, what are you doing?
Jack: What does it look like?

Morgan: You know we didn't need your help.

Morgan: Fine, thanks, good-bye.
Jack: You ok Crutchy?
Crutchy: Yeah Jack, thanks.
I help Crutchy up with Jack's help of course.
Jack: Well I'll meet you two back at Tibby's after selling.
Morgan: Maybe.
Jack's eyebrow rises up.
Jack: Maybe?
Morgan: Maybe.
Crutchy looks at us both and shakes his head.
Jack leaves and then I start to laugh.
Crutchy: Are you ok?
Morgan: Sure.
Morgan: So Crutchy, let's finish selling and get out of here.
Crutchy: Ok.
So an hour later we sold all our papes, but a few were left. It's ok really I got enough money to last me for awhile. I learned the simplness of the time. We get to Tibby's and sit down at a booth and order our food. I know one thing, even though I only eat one meal a day, it's a huge one. Once we order we talk.
Morgan: Do they always bother you?
Crutchy: Use to a lot, but now Jack checks up on me everyday, I don't mind it, it keeps the brothers at bay, so I can make some money.
Morgan: They are so annoying.
Crutchy: So what's with you and Jack?
Morgan: What do you mean?
Crutchy: Well are you two, you know?
Morgan: No, we're just friends, besides I can't be anything else to any of you then a friend.
Crutchy: Well just between you and me, I think of you as a friend too.
Morgan: Thanks.
Our food comes and we eat. I eat slowly to taste the wonderful sandwich I'm eating. We don't talk at all. Once I'm done I wash it down with a drink. We head back to the L.H slowly, since Crutchy has to walk slowly. I pull him to the sickroom.
Crutchy: Hey what are we doing here, I ain't sick.
Morgan: I know that, but I think you need some extra loving Crutchy.
Crutchy's eyebrow goes up.
Morgan: Just come in here with me, don't worry I'll lock it so nobody comes in while we're in there.
Crutchy follows me in there and I lock the door.
Morgan: So do you want me to do all the work, or would you like to show me how much of a man you are?
Crutchy: Morgan I've never even kissed a girl, how would I be able to show you how much of a man I am?
I walk up to him and push him to a sitting position on the edge of the bed and then sit on his lap. I pull him down so that our lips touch and I press them a little bit. Crutchy responds to it and then I break the kiss.

Crutchy: I guess I have.

Morgan: I'll show you, I want you on top though and if after you want to do it again, I'll do all the work ok?
Crutchy nods. I start to take off my clothes, but stop to help Crutchy, he is pretty shy. Once he's done I finish and climb into the bed with the covers over me.
Morgan: Ok, Crutchy come on in.
Crutchy climbs in and covers himself up. I'm about to tell him something else when we hear the other newsies coming in.
Morgan: We better get dressed.
We get up and get dressed, I go into the bathroom and Crutchy heads out the door. I clean myself up a bit and then head to my room.

Morgan: No thanks.
Mush: Hey, how did selling go today with Crutchy?
Morgan: Fine.
Snitch: Heard the Delancey brothers were causing trouble for you two.

Blink: Jack always keeps his eyes on Crutchy, since those two big apes like to pick on him a lot.
Morgan: Yeah well, I know how Crutchy feels.
I then head to my room and bump into Jack.
Jack: Hey there, can we talk?
Morgan: Sure, come on.
We go in my room and Jack locks the door.
Jack: I should have warned you about the Delancey brothers like to pick on Crutchy.
Morgan: It's ok, I know how he feels.
Jack's eyebrow rises up.
Morgan: Got a lot of that when I was in school, because I was the smallest all the time.
Jack: School?
Morgan: Yeah, school.
Jack: I heard you and Crutchy in the sickroom before.
Morgan: So, I told you that I will be with other newsies besides you, I'm not a slut or a whore, I'm a nymphomaniac.

I motion for him to wait and I get down and pull out the laundry bag, I pull out the blue bag and dig in and find my ID. I take Jack's hand and put the ID in it.
Morgan: In case I have to leave and we don't get a chance to say good-bye, I want you to have this.
Jack: But that's your ID, don't you need it?
Morgan: I can get another one done, so it's not a big deal, just makes sure you keep it well hidden.
Jack: I will.
I watch as he slips it deep into his pocket.
I put the blue bag back into the laundry bag and slide it back under the bunk and against the wall.
Morgan: Promise me that if this bag is left here by accident you will never show anybody what's in it.
Jack: I promise and if I could I'd bring it back to you ok?
Morgan: I know you would Jack.
Jack leaves and I lie on the bunk and stare at the ceiling. I hold the bandana in my hand and then wrap it around my wrist for safe keeping.
Morgan: Please if there is some way Jack can find his way to me in my time, please let it be.
Morgan: Please let it be if I have to go back to my time, let me find a way he can come back and find me.
I drift off to sleep now, waiting for the dreams to start, not caring if I dream or not.
