I felt on the edge of forgetting myself when the Count´s fingers slowly drew a line up my wrist and into the sleeve of my heavy costume. I didn´t know what exactly was happening and why I reacted so strangely to this inhuman´s touch.
Not recognizing myself, I shook my head in a vain attempt to regain control of this situation. But I forgot that it was the vampire´s iron will that held me in place.
Panic began to creep up my spine.
Dracula must have realized my fear.
He sighed, and I felt him loosen up his strong spell on me a little.
“As much as I enjoy the smell of your fear…”, he began, “we don´t want you to make a scene here, don´t we? So, don´t take too much advantage of your freedom, Gabriel.”
Blinking around the hall and gently shaking my head, I felt as if I just had risen from a slumber.
It was then, that I saw a quick flash of red vanish in the dark of the castle´s labyrinth.
