“I want to hear about the Green Flash.” Elizabeth laughed as she watched her tousle-haired son pursuing the ever-elusive fireflies, lighting the purple dusk with their own flashes of green. “Again?” She rose and dusted her skirt, collecting the remains of their lunch into a wicker basket. Liam ran to hug her knees, imploring eyes irresistibly begging his favourite person to tell him his favourite story. His chubby hand in hers, she began her tale, as the child delighted in the familiar words. “On rare occasion, with the last, lingering rays of sun, a green flash shoots across the horizon…”
