Chapter 13

A long,
long while after the tears had dried, Will raised his head, kissed Jack�s
forehead.
�Do you
want to rest a bit? Or do you want to try to get up?�
Jack
nodded. �I want to try to stand and walk.� He smiled. �And I really want say `Hi`
to the crew.�

He took
Will�s hand and Will pulled him carefully up. Jack held on to his arm and
slowly they made their way through the small jungle down to the beach. Every
few meters they had to stop because Jack�s head felt dizzy, but also because Will�s
leg hurt. They leant on to each other, laughed.
�My oh my��
Will sighed. �We will need some time before we are all right again��

They were
greeted by a cheering crew who nearly had given up hope to see their Captain
alive again. Mr. Philips shook Jack�s hand, smiling all over his face.
�It is so
good to see you again, Captain. So good.�
Jack
sighed. �I am really glad that I can say the same��

He did not
eat a lot and drank even less - a sip of rum made his head hurt even more. And
after a while he closed his eyes and leant his head against Will�s shoulder.
�I am
sorry� I think I have to get some rest again��

Will lead
him back to the lake where Jack laid down again. He stroked his face tenderly.
�Sleep a while��

Will was
not tired. He sat by Jack�s side all the time, watching him, so glad he was
alive.

In the late
afternoon Jack awoke again, feeling a bit better.
Will kissed
the tip of his nose.
�What do
you think of a bath? I tried to wash your face and your hands in the last days
when you were lying here, but it wasn�t easy��
Jack took a
deep breath. �Sounds like a fantastic idea��

He began to
open the buttons of his shirt, but Will stilled his hands. �Let me��
He
undressed Jack slowly, carefully, took off his own clothes. Sometimes their
eyes met and they smiled. It was not the moment for lust and passion, just for
care and tenderness.

Then he led
him to the lake, held his hand while they stepped into the water. Carefully he washed
Jack�s skin, cleaned his hair. He did not have any soap, a piece of cloth he
had ripped from his pants had to do. Jack rested his forehead on Will�s
shoulder while Will washed his neck. �What would the crew say if they see us
like this�� he mumbled.

Will
smiled. Gently he disentangled Jack�s filthy hair. �They won�t see us. They
won�t come. There are three lakes on the island, and the largest one is beneath
the shore where the guys are staying all day long.� He kissed Jack�s head.
�This here is OUR lake. Philips told them to leave us alone except when they
bring us something to eat. I think he has already guessed that� Well, that I
need to be alone with you.�

He lifted
Jack�s chin. �You look gorgeous.�
Jack
chuckled. �Liar��

Will helped
Jack to get into his clothes again. He walked a few meters to get some coconut
slices � but when he came back, Jack was asleep again. He smiled, snuggled up
to him and soon he was asleep, too.

When he
woke up, it was late at night. The moon was shining silvery over the calm lake,
the whole landscape appeared to be bathed in surreal blue and silver colours.
Will realised that Jack was no longer laying beside him. Rather worried, he sat
up � and sighed with relief. Jack was in the water, swimming beneath the
waterfall. Will got up, undressed, went into the water to follow him.

Jack smiled
when he saw Will. His feet searched for a spot where he was able to stand. He
reached out his hand, caressed Will�s face.
�Hey��
Will came
to stand beneath him, kissed Jack�s wet face.
�Can�t
sleep�?�
Jack held
his hand into the waterfall. �The water does me good� It eases the pain, the
headache� I am feeling much better��
He pulled
Will closer, moved with him behind the waterfall.
Save, alone
with each other in a warm cave they looked into each others eyes.
Their lips
met.
The kiss
was tender and soft at first, and then, slowly, it turned passionate. Jack
pressed his body carefully against Will, wrapped his arms around him.
Cautiously, not touching his injured hip, he let his hands wander over Will�s
body. And they both felt deep inside faint, exciting, tingling sparks again.
Felt alive again.
Jack
moaned. Heat began to spread inside of his body. He placed his hand on Will�s
chest, let his fingers trail down over his stomach�
But then
his head began to spin, and when he closed his eyes he swayed in the water,
nearly lost balance.

Will held
him.
�Have
patience with yourself�� he whispered. �We�ve got all the time in the world��
Jack
smiled. He rested his head on Will�s shoulder, nodded.
�One day��
he mumbled.
Will kissed
his ear. �Yes� One day we both will have our strength back�� he whispered. �And
you will have the strength back to do all the things to me only you can do��
They both
trembled.
�Tell me��
Jack whispered.
Will slid his
arms tighter around Jack�s body.
�Well� I
want you to hold me� And then you take my hands��
�Yes��

They felt
so incredibly close to each other. Both weak, both wounded, whispering the most
tender and exciting things into each others ears.

Until their
voices turned lower and lower. Until they felt that they still needed a lot of
sleep to recover. Tired but happy, they returned to the shore to fall asleep
again in each others arms.
