Shock Value
Really she felt no eagerness to return to Beckett’s company whatsoever, but there didn’t seem to be any sort of choice. Instead she simply lagged about and tried to stall. However Mercer kept pace and made sure that she didn’t doddle too much.
Coming to the door of Beckett’s office, Bonnie didn’t even knock or wait for an answer she simply opened the door and walked in. Mercer didn’t have a chance to stop her or to even try to. Bonnie had no reverence or patients for Beckett, considering all that had happened and he would simply have to endure small annoyances such as this.
When she walked in, she saw the two guards standing on either side of the prisoner that had been taken out of line and Beckett standing talking to him as if they had known each other before. Obviously, when she entered without announcing herself, all eyes in the room turned to her. “I’m being sent to my room again I hear?” She said stepping in a few steps as she looked darkly at Beckett.
“Bonnie, go to my quarters and wait for me there. We’ll discuss this later.” He said quickly. “I have business to attend to.” Just then the prisoner he was speaking to looked at her and Bonnie looked at him feeling a small shock shoot through her system.
“Bonnie?” He said looking at her.
She just stared at him wide eyed for several moments unable to say anything, unable to breathe, blink, or look away. It was almost as though she had been starring at a ghost.
The prisoners eyes started to light up as he smiled and turned starting to walk towards her even though his hands were still shackled, “My God, you’re all grown up aren’t you. A woman now!” He said in an astonished and excited voice. However the two guards instantly seized his arms stopping his advance and holding him in place. Yet his eyes stayed on the young woman.
“Joh . . . .” She started to say still in an listless yet shocked and confused state, but realized perhaps it wasn’t what she should call him. She remembered hearing him called by another name. “Jack.” She whispered as her eyes stayed on his.
Beckett starred between the two seeing their eyes meet. He could tell that this wasn’t like last time with her and Norrington. This wasn’t an act, and it wasn’t put on for his benefit. No, these two really knew each other from some time. Cutler’s eyes turned towards Bonnie, “Get him out of here. Now.” He said starring at the young woman.
The guards instantly obliged and began to drag the prisoner away. The entire time they were able to keep in sight of one another, the two never let their eyes move from one another. Bonnie started to follow after him, but Mercer quickly grabbed her and held her in place not letting her advance any further.
Beckett starred at her for several long moments, wanting an explanation. Especially as to what her relationship was to this man, of all people.
Whispers
Bonnie slipped away through her window and managed to get away undetected by the guards outside her bedroom door. She wouldn’t have much time so she needed to make the most of the time she had. Making her way carefully to the prison she moved along the cell windows until she found the one she was looking for and crouched down next to it looking from left to right making sure no one was coming before she leaned closer to the bars.
“Johnny?” She whispered. The prisoner instantly got to his feet and came to the bars looking up at her wide eyed as he smiled reaching his hand out to her. The young woman gasped as she realized that it was indeed who she had thought it was from the beginning and took his hand holding it tight resting her cheek against it.
“Look at you Bonnie. All grown up. A woman now, when you were just a lass when I left. Extraordinary what a little time will do, ay?” He said with a small chuckle pulling his hand back to pull himself closer to the bars.
“Johnny, they told me . . .you were dead . . . that the east India company had you and all the others shot because it was to expensive to feed all the prisoners.” She said quickly reaching out and holding on to his hand with both of hers.
“No . . .” He said realizing that she had been under the impression he’d been deceased these past years. “I escaped Bonnie. Didn’t they tell you that? I escaped before they began to execute prisoners.”
A smile swept her face when she heard this, finally able to feel happy that he was indeed alive and she wasn’t just imagining it. “Oh God Johnny I thought I’d never see you again.” She said as a tear escaped her eye and she held tighter to his hand through the bars. Jack smiled and held her hands with his own but looked from left to right.
“I’m glad to see you to darling” but you need to ease up on that Johnny stuff. It’s not my name anymore lass. It’s Jack. Captain Jack Sparrow.” Bonnie looked a little confused.
“Jack Sparrow?” She said. “But you’re not thee Captain Jack Sparrow are you? You can’t be.” She had heard about him from James when they were married and of course everyone knew about the exploits of Captain Jack. He was a pretty famous pirate indeed and perhaps Beckett’s biggest annoyance and sworn enemy to date.
“Of course I am darling. You seem a bit astonished.” He answered looking into her eyes. Bonnie just stared at him blankly for several long moments before she sighed feeling ill raising her hand to her face covering her eyes. Jack frowned, “What’s wrong love? Are you alright?”
“Johnny, so much as happened while you were away.” She said wiping the tears away from her eyes before holding onto his hands again trying not to cry. “I’m afraid for you.” She whispered. “I’m afraid that I found you again only to lose you once more.”
“You mustn’t let that worry you Bonnie. I’ll escape again, and this time you’ll come with me. I won’t leave you again.” He said with a smile.
Bonnie’s eyes went wide and she shook her head, “No you mustn’t. If you escape you must leave at once and never ever look back.” Jack’s smile faded at this as he looked at her.
“I can’t leave you. You’re my sister and I’ve never forgiven myself for leaving you before.”
“If I were to flee with you, Lord Beckett would be more consumed with madness in hunting you down than ever before. He would stop at nothing to see you dead and his vengeance would devour everything in its path.” She frowned. “Including James.” Her voice was softer as her eyes turned downcast.
Jack seemed very confused, “What are you talking about? What’s sort of trouble is this?”
Bonnie sat still for several moments knowing that in her explanation her brother may hate her forever. But she had to tell him, she had to tell him everything and it had to be the truth for his own safety and even James”. “So much has happened Johnny. I must be quick . . . I’ll be missed soon.”
Midnight
Beckett and Mercer were talking about Jack Sparrow’s capture when Bonnie left the table after supper retiring to the bedroom. She felt nervous about leaving them with the conversation subject, but Beckett bade her go and if she tried to stay she had no doubt she would have only been escorted to her room and locked in. Or worse, he would decide to simply discuss the matter later and accompany her to bed.
Slipping into her linen nightgown she paused a moment with a frown as she looked into the mirror. Placing her hand on her stomach and her lower abdomen, she saw that a small bulge had begun to form. It wasn’t to large, but it was definitely there if you knew what you were looking for. The physical evidence of the secret that she carried within her was beginning to take shape and she felt a bit lightheaded and ill at the thought of just whose baby resided in her body.
“You look stunning.” A voice said from the doorway that she hadn’t heard come in since she was so engrossed at looking at herself in the mirror. Beckett closed the door behind him turning the lock so the door was secure. “Absolutely radiant.” He complemented as she walked towards her, stepping behind her and looking over her shoulder in the mirror. Reaching up he smoothed her hair back over her shoulder and kissed her neck as his hands wrapped around her waist pulling her against him before he encircled her with his arms pulling her body against his looking at her in the mirror. “You will make a wondrous mother, Bonnie. Pure perfection.” His eyes turned towards her face as he complimented her features placing a kiss to her cheek, then her ear, then again to her neck.
“Don’t pretend that this is anything like a happy family situation, Lord Beckett.” She said starring at his reflection in the mirror. “You are my captor, I am your prisoner. This child was conceived out of wedlock, and we live together as two unwed people who can barely stand to be in the same room with each other for lengthy amounts of time.” Reaching up she pried his arms loose from her body and stepped away walking around him as she moved to the bed and climbed in pulling the covers up over her.
The smile that Beckett had been wearing melted away as a disapproving look crossed his face watching her move. If that was the way she wanted it, then so be it. They would move on to the matter at hand. “I was told by the guards that you lingered by one of the cells an exceptionally long period of time today. Speaking to a prisoner for a lengthy amount of time before you were told to move along.” Becket leaned against the bedpost looking at her. “Jack Sparrow’s cell, I believe it was.”
“I feed the prisoners on occasion, you know this by now Lord Beckett. Despite what your guards and soldiers insist.” Leaning up she blew out the candle having every intention of going to sleep. “He’s famous all through this colony, of course I wanted to speak with him. He’s the newest celebrity in Port Royal we’ve had in years.”
Walking closer to her he sat down beside her on the bed. Instantly, Bonnie rolled over to her other side so her back was to him not wanting to associate with him any more then she had to. “Mr. Mercer said that you recognized him in the prisoner line when he was brought ashore. I have a feeling there is more than just a simple fascination with a so called “celebrity.”
“Then perhaps you think to much, Lord Beckett.” She said wishing he’d stop talking to her about this and let it slide by unnoticed. Finding her brother made her heart come alive for the first time in years. Really come alive and she didn’t want to spoil that feeling. Even if she had to tell him all the dreary misgivings that had surrounded her life as of late, the fact that he was alive was enough to set her heart floating on clouds and she was happy. Even the worry she felt couldn’t outweigh her happiness.
Beckett just starred at her for several moments before speaking, “What is your relationship to Captain Jack Sparrow.” He asked bluntly. “How do you know him.” Bonnie didn’t answer and had no intention of doing so. Cutler reached over grasping her shoulder and rolling her onto her back looking into her eyes. “What is he to you?”
Bonnie sighed, “If I did know him before, what would you do to him?” She asked. “Fire him out of a cannon from the fort wall into the sea? You’ve already banished my husband so that we may never see each other again. If I new Jack Sparrow personally, why do you think I would ever tell you.”
It was more or less a reaction to the word “husband” and how it referred to Norrington more than anything when Beckett’s hand came across Bonnie’s face, slapping her for speaking it. Her eyes closed and she turned her face away. “He’s not your husband anymore. I’ve told you, I don’t want to hear you referring to him like that ever again.” He said in a stern tone. A tear escaped Bonnie’s eye as her jaw clinched. Cutler looked at her for another moment feeling a bit ill that he had lashed out and struck her like that. A bit embarrassed that it had happened without his even realizing it, or foreseeing the reaction, yet not about to admit it or apologize for it. “You are mine now. You live with me, and he is no longer any part of your life. Forget about him.” Standing from the bed, Beckett turned and walked away to prepare to retire himself. Bonnie rolled back over on her side burring her face in her pillow refusing to let anymore of her sorrow show.
Scoundrels
Beckett tapped his fingers against his desk as Mercer stood before him. “Are you certain that’s what they overheard? It would be easy to make up such a fantastical story for the sake of freedom.”
“Yes sir, word for word account of what she and Jack Sparrow discussed. These men wouldn’t lie about that, they know they’d be dead before they were an hour in the streets if they lied to me.” Mercer said knowing that his reputation had gotten around the prison a bit when he had to deal in certain affairs.
“Check the prison and fort records. I want this story verified. If there really was an escape prisoner on those dates and if it was indeed Miss Bonnie’s brother.” Beckett demanded.
“Yes sir.” Mercer replied.
“Until then, keep a double guard on Sparrow’s cell. We don’t want him slipping away like last time. And I think it best that Miss Bonnie stay confined to quarters as well.” Mercer nodded and left the room. Beckett’s eye twitched as he thought about the situation, then he violently threw down the object he had been turning about in his fingers over and over while he had been talking her to Mercer.
Tolerance
Bonnie bit her lip and kept her eyes closed as Beckett pushed himself deeper inside of her body with swift hard strokes. His hands wrapped around her wrists as he pushed her arms down against the mattress. Leaning his head down against her shoulder a moment as he continued to pump his hips against her thighs he began to nibble and bite her neck, licking at the marks as if she were an after meal snack to be tasted.
Finally, after an eternity, he leaned his weight against her tights pushing himself further into her body causing Bonnie to whimper slightly and released himself his entire body shuttering at the feeling as he filled her with his seed. Bonnie’s back was a little sore and she just wanted to be left alone so she could roll over on her side and go to sleep.
At last, he seemed satisfied with his efforts and withdrew, removing his body from on top of hers to the side. Bonnie started to roll over and move to her own side of the bed, but Cutler quickly reached out wrapping his arm around her pulling her against his body and laying his head against her shoulder.
“You’ve had your fun, now am I not allowed to have my rest.” Bonnie stated finding that he had settled himself in as though she was some sort of stuffed animal or extra pillow to make himself quite comfortable with.
“Instead of pulling away you could lay with me in much the same manner.” He suggested. “Perhaps submit rather than protest constantly. Maybe you would find some enjoyment for yourself if you take part in our intimacy.”
“I very much doubt that.” She grumbled.
Becket reached up stroking her hair as he leaned on one elbow looking down at her, “So much anger.” He said continuing to stroke her hair gently. “It doesn’t suit you at all you know. Such a beautiful creature having so much hate and animosity beaming out of those eyes.” Leaning down he whispered into her ear, “I could give you more than Norrington ever could. Everything he has was by way of me . . . how much more could I give you? How much more of a fulfilling life could you have with me?” He said letting his hand move over her side to her hip then slowly draw back up the length of her body to her breast. “I could give you everything, you’ve ever wanted to dreamt of.” He whispered nibbling her ear ever so slightly.
“And just as easily take it away.” She answered to his attempt at tempting her.
“There would be no need to if you would simply behave like a proper lady and do as you were told.” Beckett said a bit more sternly. “Fighting me at every turn is no way to get the things you want. You are going to have to simply surrender to me, and things will become more pleasant for both of us Miss Bonnie. It’s cold hard fact. You are here, this is your place now. Why not make the best of it. Things couldn’t be better for you here, there is no place better for you to be then at the side of the most powerful man in the Caribbean.” He leaned down and kissed her cheek caressing her breast. “Think about it.” He whispered into her ear before curling up against her pressing his body against hers settling into the pillows and sheets to fall asleep beside her.
It was like being wrapped in the coils of a rattle snake.
