Sorry for the delay, since I’m a new mommy updates may be
a tad on the slow side!
Su’tara didn’t leave her room for days. Kayla would sit
and talk to her or they would enjoy each other’s silence. She didn’t know how
much her daughter cared for Lo’kesh. Ta’noj tried talking to her, but she
wasn’t in a talkative mood. He started to spend more time with Kavi’ta. Kavi’ta
heard Ba’naj talking about how well his training was going and decided to have an
afternoon meal with him.
Sh’lok hadn’t tried touching Kayla in a week. Every time
he tried she would push him away and tell him she wasn’t in heat. He knew she
was always in heat. Especially when he came in their quarters from sparring. He
figured if her jealousy wasn’t over in another week he would talk to her.
“Kayla?” She turned
around as she was getting dressed to see Lee’na staring at her. “When I was
jealous of Ne’el’s mate I tried to kill her.”
Kayla shook Lee’na’s shoulder softly. “I would never harm
you,” Kayla smiled at her. “I do admit that I am jealous from time to time, but
I will get over it.”
“Sh’lok misses you,” she said softly. “He yearns to touch
you. I can see it in his eyes. He is…” she paused for a moment. “He is
emotional when it comes to you. He try to hide that ooman trait, but I notice
it.”
Kayla thought about that morning and how she pushed him
away. “I miss him too.”
“Then be with him.”
“I start to think of you two together,” Kayla admitted.
She hated to appear so venerable in front of Lee’na and Kul’vir words rang in her
head every day. “I will be ok Lee’na.”
Lee’na and Kayla
went to check on Su’tara. She was looking at a tablet. When she looked up she
tilted her head to the side. “I’m glad you are both here,” she sat the tablet
aside as Kayla and Lee’na sat down. “Please you two must tell me everything
about mating. Does it hurt? How is it done? Will I have a baby right
afterwards?”
“Lee’na will tell you everything you need to know,” Kayla
stood up as Lee’na started to laugh.
It was weeks before the hunting party returned. No one
knew exactly when they would return, but that didn’t stop Su’tara from sitting
on the docking ports waiting for his ship everyday.
“Would you like some company?” Shra’van questioned.
Su’tara looked up at him. “If you have anything smart to say…”
“No,” he growled before sitting next to her. He handed her
a piece of dried meat. “Eat, you are looking frail.”
“I do not,” she snatched the meet from his hands.
“I know we do not converse much,” he said slowly. “But I
wanted you to know I was wrong about Lo’kesh. If he went on a hunt for you then
he must be ok, even though he was a servant.” Su’tara looked at him angrily.
“An eta,” he corrected himself.
“You were right Shra’van,” Su’tara said softly. “I fear he
is dead. He didn’t have enough training.” Su’tara heart started to race when
the dock doors opened for a vessel. She stood up and started to walk towards
the ship, but Shra’van stopped her. They watched as a few young Yautja’s walked
off the ship proudly with one or two heads in their hands.
Su’tara didn’t see Lo’kesh and started to panic.
“Vor’reg,” Shra’van walked up to the male. “Where is Lo’kesh?”
“He is coming in on the second ship,” he nodded. “They
will be here any moment. Lo’kesh was great. I had never seen such a hunter. He
hunted alone and when we met up with him he killed almost everything around
him. I thought he was about to kill us for a moment.” Su’tara sighed as the
young male went on about Lo’kesh. She turned to see the second ship
approaching. When his hunting party exited the ship they all roared with joy.
She watched Lo’kesh walk off the ship with ten heads hanging on a chain that
was thrown over his shoulder.
He laughed and patted the shoulder of the other males from
the first ship. He stopped and looked at Su’tara. He couldn’t read her
expression. “Su’tara,” he purred softly. Before he could speak she kicked him
in his knee. He bent down from the pain and felt her fist come into contact
with his face. Her foot easily kicked his stomach, causing blood to spurt from
his mouth. Su’tara would have continued if Shra’van didn’t stop her.
“Don’t ever speak to me again,” she snarled before walking
away. A few of the males around him snickered.
“Your fight wasn’t with the hard meats,” Vor’reg laughed.
“It was waiting at home for you.” Others started to laugh as Lo’kesh stood up.
“She is an unusual female,” another male said. “With ten
heads, you will have your pick of females Lo’kesh.”
“And better weapons,” Vor’reg added.
“So you waited all that time to kick his ass?” Shra’van
chuckled as they walked back to their quarters.
“No,” Su’tara shook her head. “I just seen him and got
angry. He didn’t have to leave. I don’t like looking at those ugly heads
anyway.”
“He did have to leave Su’tara,” Shra’van tried to explain.
“It’s the way of the Yautja. He had to prove to you he can protect you and he
had to prove to others that he is strong.”
“You’re defending Lo’kesh?”
“Of course not,” he growled. “I don’t like him, but I
understand.” He pushed Su’tara off the elevator and stayed on. He grunted and
raised his middle finger as the doors closed.
“What an ass,” she mumbled.
Sh’lok walked towards Lo’kesh’s room when he was informed
that the hunting party was back. Lo’kesh limped towards his room, noticing
Sh’lok was about to enter. “Oh, your hunt has left you wounded?”
“No, my hunt was successful,” Lo’kesh grunted as they
walked in. “Your daughter beat me afterwards.” Sh’lok laughed and patted his
back.
“For future reference, always tell a female farewell.”
“I will be going on another hunt in a few weeks,” Lo’kesh
walked directly to his empty trophy room. Sh’lok watched as he proudly
displayed each head. He even noticed Lo’kesh marked himself in battle. Sh’lok
thought back to when he displayed his first head. For a while neither one of
them said anything as Lo’kesh admired his kills. He turned to look at Sh’lok.
“I shall go and present my recordings to the jewelers so they can start to
write of my hunt. Can I assist you with something Sh’lok?”
Sh’lok opened his hand. “This is for you.” He gave the
rings to Lo’kesh. He stared at them strangely before reading one of them.
“This is not my hunt,” he shook his head as he continued
to read the small writing. His body shook softly before looking at Sh’lok. “My
fathers last hunt? I… I don’t understand. How do you know of this?”
“I had Lee’na do a little research on you. It wasn’t easy
being you were traded off of three ships,” Sh’lok grunted. “The other tells of
your heroic birth. You died with your mother, but you were revived. You also
have grandparents on another ship. They belong to a different clan than your
parents, which is why you never met them. Your grandfather is a great warrior
and arbitrator. We will cross paths with their ship in the near future.”
Lo’kesh was at a lost for words. He stared at Sh’lok for a
moment before looking down at the rings in his hand. “I have lineage,” he said
softly before letting out a chuckle. “I am sorry for my outburst of emotion. I
am so very grateful.” He bowed to Sh’lok. Lo’kesh started to think of Su’tara.
“The female I started all of this for now says she never wants to talk to me
again.”
Sh’lok laughed and shook his shoulder. “She locked herself
in her room for weeks and waited everyday on the ports for you. I think she
will not stay mad for long.”
“She did?” Lo’kesh chuckled. “So she cares.”
“Deeply,” Sh’lok looked at him seriously.
“When she spoke to me on the ports, water emerged from her
eyes…”
“Tears,” Sh’lok explained. “She was hurt. It is a natural
occurrence in ooman’s when they are extremely happy or sad. Do not hurt my
daughter.”
“To hurt her would be equivalent to dying a thousand
deaths,” he nodded at Sh’lok. “I would never hurt her. No matter how many
bruises she gives me.” When Sh’lok left he sat down and looked at the rings
before laughing. He couldn’t believe he had grandparents. He started to think
that maybe he had aunts and uncles as well. He slowly read over his father’s
finial battle again.
Ta’noj thought that since Lo’kesh was back Su’tara would
like to spar with him again, but she refused. She stayed in her room avoiding
Lo’kesh. He called her several times on her communicator, but she wouldn’t
respond. Kayla was too busy tying to get over her own jealously to notice
Su’tara’s pain. For the first time, Stef’na came over, but it was to ask Lee’na
some questions. She talked to Kayla for a moment, but when they started to talk
like she wasn’t in the room she excused herself. Kayla went to talk to the only
male whose grumpiness was amusing.
“Are you due for a checkup?” Pahel questioned as Kayla sat
down.
“No I just came to check on you,” she looked at the guards
and rolled her eyes. Pahel chuckled.
“This is a private mater,” he nodded to the guards. They
nodded in return and stood outside of the medical lab. “Are you feeling well
Kayla?”
She shook her head no. “Do you have anything to cure
jealousy?” He laughed at her as she continued. “I know I’m just crazy, but I
can’t help it. I haven’t even mated with Sh’lok since the ritual.”
“It has been almost two months,” he nodded. “I heard you
had requests to stimulate males for their ritual.”
“They expect me to do to them what I did with Sh’lok,” she
laughed. “When they found out that I will not do that they haven’t asked me
since.”
“How you feel is perfectly normal,” he explained. “Some
females get jealous and some accept it. You will be just fine. Also, the birth
control will alter you mood remember?” He shook her shoulder softly. That night
Sh’lok nuzzled up against Lee’na. Kayla listened as she purred softly. Sh’lok
nipped her shoulder and growled.
“Sh’lok,” she groaned softly. “I’m not in heat. Allow
Kayla to please you.” Kayla could feel him touch her side. She thought of
Kul’vir words as tears stung her eyes.
“I’m not second Sh’lok!” Kayla snapped as she got out the
bed. She wrapped her robe around her body and left the room. Kayla tried to get
comfortable on the pillows, but it was useless. She had never been this long
without mating with Sh’lok and it was driving her crazy.
“Kayla,” he said softly as he walked into the room. She
didn’t respond. “Please talk to me.”
“I have nothing to say,” her voice was aloof. “Please go
back to bed. I’m sure Lee’na is worried about you.”
“But it is you whom I love,” he reminded her. It pained
him when she didn’t respond. He left the room.
When Kayla woke up Ta’noj was sitting across from her. He
watched as she sat up slowly. “I did not want to disturb you while you slept,”
he explained. “Mother, are you alright? You slept out here and you have been crying.
What did Shra’van do now?”
“Nothing,” she
smiled. She patted the pillow next to her and he sat closer. She leaned on her
sons shoulder. “I’m having a hard time adjusting to your father having a second
mate.”
“So am I,” he admitted. Kayla raised her head and looked
at him. “I do not know why. It just doesn’t seem like we laugh as much
anymore.” Kayla tugged his hair gently.
“Go practice my son.” He nodded to her and left. Kayla sat
a moment as she thought of Sh’lok. Lee’na sat next to her.
“When I was with Ne’el, sometimes I wished that his second
mate would come and sit by me and take my hand. And tell me that everything
would be ok. And the feeling that I was trying to keep to myself is perfectly
normal.” Lee’na held Kayla’s hand. “I wish she told me that I wasn’t second and
I held a special place in Ne’el’s heart that even she couldn’t reach.” Kayla
wiped her tears away. “I did not tell Sh’lok to mate with you to make you feel
second Kayla.”
“I know,” she patted Lee’na’s knee before standing up. “Thank
you Lee’na. Maybe I should go find Sh’lok and apologize. He has been very
patient with me.”
“He is training a class while Maha’vin prepares to take a
group out to hunt.”
“When will they go on their individual hunts?”
Lee’na followed Kayla to their room. “When we are closer
to your planet. Shra’van will be ready soon. He is a great fighter.”
Lee’na left, leaving Kayla in their quarters alone. She
laid across the bed and thought of Sh’lok. She drifted off to sleep, but sat up
when Sh’lok walked into the bedroom. “Oh my goodness, are you ok?” She looked
at the blood and sweat on his body.”
“It is not my blood,” he growled. Kayla grabbed a towel
and started to wipe off his upper body. He could tell she was upset and
worried. Her pulse started to quicken as he looked down at her. He didn’t want
to argue again and he refused to beg for her affection. “I didn’t know you
cared.” She stopped as she looked into his eyes.
“Maybe you should take a shower,” Kayla said softly as she
stepped away from him.
“Maybe I should,” he mumbled walking away from her. Kayla
watched him walk into the bathroom. She couldn’t smell his scent and his eyes
were dark when he spoke to her. Kayla felt like she was talking to a stranger.
She walked into the bathroom as he showered. Kayla opened the shower door.
Sh’lok smelled her scent and before she could touch him he quickly turned
around. Sh’lok didn’t understand why Kayla was there. He no longer knew what to
say to make the situation better between them. Sh’lok stared at Kayla, waiting for
her to speak. She stared back at him for a moment before looking away. For a
second she almost didn’t recognize Sh’lok. They weren’t the eyes of the Yautja
she fell in love with so many years ago. He was hiding his emotions from her.
“I’m scared that everything Kul’vir said was true,” Kayla
gripped the shower door as he tilted his head to the side.
“What do you mean?”
“The night of our ritual, he said that since Lee’na’s
Yautja, you will make her first and I will always be second. I started to feel
second Sh’lok.”
“I’m going to kill that boy…”
“And last night...” her voice trailed off as he pulled her
into the shower and closed the door. He pulled her close to his wet body.
“I thought she was in heat and I could not smell you,” he
purred softly. “The whole first and second thing is how females think. To a
male you are both first. To name a mate second, that is just a formality.” He
grabbed her waist and pulled her closer. Sh’lok bent down to whisper in her
ear. “But it is your emotions and body I crave everyday. Kayla I haven’t felt
this empty in over thirty years.”
She looked into his eyes as they started to soften. Kayla
started to see Sh’lok again and smiled before looking away. His purr got
stronger as he looked at her. Kayla felt his purr vibrate against her neck and
she started to feel weak. He grabbed her waist, pulling her against his body.
“My dress is wet,” she managed to say.
“I was hoping to get something else wet,” he groaned
softly. Kayla stepped back and started to take her dress off. The seconds that
started to pass was to long for Sh’lok. He ripped her dress from her body and
groaned. He growled as Kayla’s scent immediately got stronger. Sh’lok slammed
her body against the wall, crushing her, so she couldn’t move. He lifted her
body up and roared as he planted himself halfway inside her. Kayla screamed as
her body shook with pleasure. Every time she mated with Sh’lok it felt like the
first time. Sh’lok held her waist as he looked into her eyes. He could feel her
getting wetter, allowing him to push himself all the way inside her. His scent
was driving her crazy and hers was doing the same to him.
Sh’lok noticed her tears, but it didn’t stop him from
slamming his body into her. She whimpered loudly as another orgasm shook her
body. He couldn’t express to her how much he missed her body. He didn’t want to
tell her he was going to fuck her for the rest of the day. She felt so good he
stopped thrusting inside her body and just held still.
“Please,” she started to beg. He held her body against the
wall so she couldn’t move.
“I should torture you for all the days you tortured me,”
he growled before biting her neck. He pulled out slowly and slammed himself
inside her again. Listening to her screams as her body shook pleased him. Not
being able to take much more Sh’lok rammed himself inside her until she started
to black out from the long overdue sensation of his orgasm.
