The warmth of the setting sun kissed over pale flesh. The roar of the ocean waves blocked all other sounds as they crashed against the rocks. Sweat trickled down smooth skin. The gentle breeze lifted the auburn locks every now and then. Eyes the color of the sea were trained on the straw figure ahead of them. Fingers that would never aim a weapon in violence pulled back the tight string of the bow. The arrow whistled through the air as it flew toward its target and missed by an inch. A soft swear escaped from female lips as she put the bow down and retrieved the arrow laying just in the sand. “Gods why can't this be easy?” her voice whispered as she starred at the arrow then looked at the untouched target with disgust. It was at this moment when her focus was not so much on what she was doing that she heard the sound of bells in the distance. A moments pause then realization hit her. Warning bells. Her heart slammed against her chest as panic trickled up her spine. She grabbed her arrows and began to run for the safety of the gates. Before she was anywhere near them she saw men fighting. Fear hit her hard. To go toward Troy now would mean certain death for her. Where could she go that would be safe enough? She glanced around her, but saw no refuge in sight. Apollo's temple was not that far from her, but no doubt people would be fighting there too. If she could make it there and hide maybe just maybe she'd be safe for a moment. She saw more men race from the beach toward the rest. Gods, there was so many of them. If she stayed where she was she would surly die and to her she would rather die trying to save herself then just standing there. So, she ran as fast as her tiny feet would carry her and crashed into a solid form knocking the wind from her lungs. She brought her eyes up to meet a pair of unfamiliar eyes. A solider for Greece. She started to struggle to get away loosing her bow and arrows in her fight for freedom. The solider swore as he tried to maintain a solid hold on her. She cursed Paris for his selfish lust as she kicked the soldier's leg and was reward with hurting herself. She swung out with her free hand, but the solider grabbed her hand in his. She knew she was going to die or be raped possible both so, she hooked her foot behind his causing him to fall backwards. Momentarily he let go of her to steady his self, this was her only chance she ran with all her might as her eyes fell on Hector who was entering Apollo's temple then a scream ripped through her as she was lifted off her feet away from any chance of freedom. “Take her to my tent and do not let anyone except me go inside or leave.” The solider shoved her to another one as he gave the order and she was dragged away kicking and screaming the whole way. “Leave me alone!” She shouted kicking out, but not connecting with anything.” Let me go!” she swung out, but her hands were quickly restrained. Hector who was facing men at Apollo's temple heard the sound of a female screaming. He turned slightly still keeping a trained eye on the man before him. He swore silently as he recognized the female screaming without even turning to see her he knew in his heart who it was. Celesta! The blond man before him heard the woman scream as well as briefly flicked his gaze in her direction then back at Hector. Fear rose in Hector as he tried to focus his attention on the task at hand. There was nothing he could for her now. If anything happened to her he would make sure all those who had dared to harm her would perish at least he could do that for her. “Prince what are you going to do now?” Achilles questioned as he regarded Hector thoughtfully” Stay here and fight me or go rescue your female from the hands of your enemy?” Hector narrowed his eyes at Achilles Hector knew he could not win this fight, but his pride would not allow him to leave so easily. “Go on back to the gates of Troy your female will be safe I give you my word on that.” Achilles dismissed him. “Your word does not mean anything to me.” Hector spat out. “That may be, but you will have to take it since you can not save her.” Achilles stated. Reluctantly Hector left. He knew he could not save Celesta nor could he manage to defeat all the soldiers at Apollo's temple so, he fought his way back to the safety of Troy's gates praying to any god that would listen for Celesta's safe return. How was he going to tell her mother what happened to her only child? For that matter how was he going to explain it to his father and his wife? His heart heavy with guilt and his thoughts running ramped he sadly entered the gates of Troy ordering them closed behind him. Sending another silent prayer up to the gods he prepared to face those he loved with news he had. Tomorrow he avenge all that was lost today, but for tonight he would hold his wife and child a little tighter thankful that they were safe for the night. Though his thoughts would remain with Celesta he took little comfort in her willful spirit and stubbornness she would not let them kill her without a fight that much he knew for certain.
