A/N: First Transformers fic, stemming from my love of the Decepticons, Particularly Blackout and Barricade, double fueled by some of the awesome stories on here, and tripley fueled by a dose of good music, particularly Katy Perrys ET and Ready, Set, Go which I think is by Ice Tea...cant remember. Anyway, for now its a oneshot, but I might extend it a bit, if I get inspired and its accepted. Forgive any errors I may have made, Most of what i know concerning their habits and anatomy Ive picked up form other stories.
It was fairly early, and some how, sleep had come rather late for the mech. He had slipped into a recharge sometime around 3 A.M. this morning. The night before had been a long, and dull one, spent mostly shifting through various data sheets and filtering everything into the appropriate places. His young charge had gotten bored midway through and abandoned him to tend to her own sleep needs...not that she required much. He had not even checked to see if she was present when he had finally stumbled into his recharge station. As it was, his thoughts were currently blissfully empty, focused merely on regaining what energy he had lost. He would need it after all. So deep in his rest, he hadn't even registered the normally, familiar presence often found leaning against his side was absent. "Ready?" "No...we're going to get in trouble you know..." "Aren't....he won't even know..." There was a soft sigh in response to these words. "He always knows..." Dark eyes flicked back to stare at the large copter sitting a few feet away. "Stop being so whiny Blackout. All you have to do is watch and make sure its all good. He wont know". The Giant rotary blades drooped, then slowly begin to whirl to life. Andy shielded her eyes against the dirt and wind that swirled up in their wake then turned her attention to the dirt bike in front of her. Grinning, she swung a leg over and settled herself comfortably. Turning some she glanced up at the slowly disappearing black shape and chuckled. The Decepticon was such a baby sometimes. He would keep watch for her, forewarning her of possible threats....both from their own side and the enemy. Smiling at the prospect of adding some excitement to her daily ride, she slipped on a pair of leather gloves and flexed her fingers before tucking her dark hair into a quick bun and pulling a helmet over her head, flipping the front down to cover her eyes. I'm not covering for you if he finds out this time... She grinned, hearing the copter's less then enthusiastic statement in her ear, her helmet having been rigged to connect to him when necessary. "I wouldn't expect you to...cry baby...just watch for him or anyone else all right?" Whatever...I would have thought you had learned after last time... "Lets just say I have what humans call selective hearing..." But you aren't hu-" "What? Can't hear you". The roar of the bikes engine was soothing in a way and she revved it a few times before easing off the brakes slowly. The bike lurched forward, its tires squealing and kicking up dirt. The long, empty stretch of desert had been calling her name all week, and after her last incident on it she had taken her time in coming back to it. She could hear Blackouts rotary blades as they turned in the distance, telling her he was doing as she had requested. The wind whipped past her, snatching at her clothes. She sped up, tearing down the roadway in endless bliss. It was a comfort...to be out in the open, free of any troubles, worries, or confinement. As much as she liked the giant company she kept, sitting with them while they did maintenance or whatnot was not as appealing to her as one would have first thought. She took a bend quickly, kicking up more dirt and rocks in the process. A few lizards were quick to scramble out of the way, disappearing to hide under boulders or bushes. A quick glance in the side mirror told her she was clear of followers for the time being. I do not see why you don't simply inform him when you wish to go on these 'joyrides' as you refer to them. She snorted. "Are you insane? Has something fried your processors? First he would laugh...then he would give me that look...the 'I know you are kidding right?' look he tends to reserve just for me...well..me and you sometimes. Then he would force the base into lock down, put watches on me, and Im sure if he could he would implant a tracker in me...JUST so I couldn't leave. He thinks I'm fragile or something". She rolled her eyes and took another bend, using her foot to ease the turn. Perhaps he would consider? He isn't entirely unreasonable you know. Perhaps a bit off his sensors for putting up with your constant dare deviling and involving everyone else in it.. "I do NOT involve everyone else...just the ones I really like...aren't you supposed to be keeping watch? Not heckling me over my activity choices." Ah, yes, well if I didn't distract you, you would notice him faster. I like to at least seem like I'm partially on his side still. She glanced in the side view again and swore darkly. Even without the flashing lights, she could clearly see the black and white form coming up rather quickly behind her. She turned her head some, shooting the sky a dark look. "Thanks a lot..your a horrible recon partner." I only live to serve you Andycon. She made a face at the sarcasm she could hear dripping even through the headset and did a quick estimate on how fast she could go before she either lost control and crashed or the Saleen gave up. She had no doubt he was exhausted and a chase was possibly the last thing on his mind. But then, Barricade had never been one for letting something he wanted slip out of reach so easily. And god knew she was miles from anything she could have easily lost him in. As much as I appreciate your consideration for trying to keep me happy, I must insist you pull over Andy. I don't feel like chasing you any more then necessary. And it is not as if you will get very far as it is...I have Bonecrusher and Sideways waiting to stop you once you reach a certain point. They are under strict orders to return you to me...with or without the bike. Her lips pursed and with a scowl she reluctantly pulled off to the side. The cop car pulled up beside her and she looked away, refusing to meet the holograms unwavering gaze as it settled on her. I did tell her Barricade... Shut up Blackout, I have words for you once we reach base again. I recall telling you last time you weren't to help her anymore. Well...no offense but..she can be quiet alluring when she wants to... As I said, we will talk...for now, return to base and wait for me...as for you Andy, you are to turn around and go ahead of me...I will be right behind you. So don't think any quick maneuvers will help you this time. Also...a quick note from someone who used ot enjoy going out and being a rebel...if you want to avoid attention, try not to take something as huge as a military helicoptor with you as your lookout. The young woman sighed and glanced sideways at him before giving a little gas, enough to get her facing the direction she had come from once more. She hesitated, then jumped when she felt his front bumper tap her from behind lightly. Go. Grumbling to herself, she eased off on the clutch and started forward once more, feeling his presence in her wake the entire time. The trek back to base seemed even longer returning then it had leaving. If she slowed, his engine revved behind her, silently threatening. Still grumbling darkly to , she sped up a bit to escape his overwhelming presence. Smirking to himself, Barricade watched her, amused. His little companion was a smart one, and he often wondered if agreeing to take her under his wing would come back to bite him in the aft later. But for now, he was simply going to enjoy her company and what she had to offer. For all he knew, she would become more valuable in their fight against those wretched Autobots. After all, who knew better how to destroy the enemy then someone created by them. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
