Chapter 1
*Riddick’s POV*
Earth. Not my idea of
home sweet home, but lately I had felt myself drawn here. I looked at the instruments before me and
pushed a button as one of them said that there was a signal coming. Probably some music channel from one of the satellites.
I tilted my head to the side as the music filled the small
ship.
Devon
Won't go to heaven
She's just another lost soul,
About to be mine again
Leave her
we will receive her
It is beyond your control
will you ever meet again
Devon
One of eleven
Who had been rendered unwhole
As a little child,
she was taken
and then forsaken
you will remember it all
Let it blow your mind again
Devon lies beyond
this portal
take the word of one immortal
Give your soul to me
For eternity
release your life
to begin another time with her
End your grief with me
there's another way
release your life
take your place inside the fire with her
Sever
Now and forever
you're just another lost soul about to be mine again
see her, you'll never
free her
you must surrender it all
Would you like to meet again
Fire
All you desire
As she begins to turn cold and run out of time
you will shiver
till you deliver
you will remember it all
Let it blow your mind again
I pushed the button again to let the music stop. I didn’t want to hear anything at to moment;
I was more interested in listening to my own thoughts.
I lurched forward and wrapped my arms around my
stomach. I had been doing this a lot
lately. The tug that was pulling me
towards earth, it wasn’t must a mental thing, it was also quite physical and I had
been making me slightly sick. Needless
to say I didn’t want to be on Earth.
Earthlings were the weakest race.
I sighed and landed the ship in the middle of a forest
before starting the journey that would tell me just who I had always been meant
to be.
************
*Unknown POV*
I watched as he landed.
It had been so long. The last
time I had seen him; his mother had been tossing him into a trash can with his
cord wrapped around his neck. I was
about to go get him out when another arrived and found him.
My son. My
youngest. He looked nothing like the
other two, instead taking on the dominant features of his mother. Who would have known that Furyan blood was
more dominant than devil blood?
I shook my head slowly and turned. I opened a portal, and stepped through. It was time for Richard to meet his brothers.
**************
*Riddick*
It hurt so badly. I
was stumbling towards an unknown destination, half doubled over in pain as I
walked through the dark city streets.
I looked up when the pull forced me to stop.
‘Devil May Cry’
It looked like some strange kind of shop.
The pull forced me forward and I stumbled inside of the building.
“Bathroom’s in the back.”
I looked up to see a man with white hair. He looked a few years older than me.
“You okay kid? You
don’t look so good.”
I didn’t feel so good either. Then blackness filled my vision and I felt
myself falling forward.
**************
*Dante*
“Bathroom’s in the back.”
Damn things were slow lately. But this man didn’t say anything. He simply stood there, looking like he was
going to pass out. He had a shaved head
and wore cargo pants, combat boots, a black wife beater, and black goggles. He looked a few years younger than me. I felt a tug in my stomach, pulling me
towards him, but ignored it.
This guy smelt funny.
Half-breed like me. Demon and
something…else. Not human.
“You okay kid? You
don’t look so good.”
I winced as the man fell forward. I hadn’t been able to see his eyes but I was
sure that they had rolled up into the back of his head.
“Well damn.”
I stood and hefted the man up over my shoulder before
bringing him into the back and laying him down on one of the cots I had back
there. They had been set up for occasions
just like this.
I turned away for a moment to get a wet cloth to cool the
kid down, only to feel a strong demonic presence. I turned only to see a letter lying on the
stranger’s stomach. I stepped forward
slowly and took it into my hands, reading slowly.
Dante
I am sorry I have not
been around. I was protecting Richard
here. He is your younger brother. His mother came here shortly after Eva died. She was one of a dying breed so I agreed to
help her continue on her race. She died
shortly after Richard was born and I couldn’t take the child in.
He’s been into quite a
bit of trouble and is currently on the run from mercenaries from other
planets. He’s wanted in almost every
solar system in the known universe.
He’ll probably be out
for a while, but turn the lights off. He
has a shine job on his eyes that allow him to see in total darkness. Too much light will cause extreme pain.
Guide him Dante. Now that he has arrived home on earth, his
devil side will start to manifest.
Without guidance, he may end up like Virgil. Or worse, working with Mundus.
I will come home when
the time is right and I am needed again.
Your Loving (if
absent) Father
Sparda
PS. Richard likes to go by the name of
Riddick. Call him Richard too much and
you may end up losing the family jewels.
I reread the letter many times and sighed before turning the
lights out, only a single candle lighting the room, not that I needed much
light to see myself.
I sat…and I waited.
