A strange and funny story to me. Poor Jareth, now he's bargaining just *a kiss* for some little service, a favor, to Sarah.. how mighty have fallen!
Jareth, the Goblin King - a broken car and a tank of gasoline. What a combination! :) Truly the fall.
Why such a long, tiring -at least for sarah - dialogue, with lots of very mundane questions, as if the King hasn't seen everything through his crystal? He must have been watching the girl, so.. why? Was he pretending, playing a part of an old friend? Obviously, she didn't care.
And really, should one wonder if some predator is approaching him in a dark forest? It's only natural, so why such a surprise? Sarah's a bad actress.
What about three opening sentences? Why not to organize them into one?
