I wanted to like this fic, but I just couldn't for these reasons:

1. You made the Skeksis into generic pretty boys. No, just no! I think the Skeksis are beautiful just the way they are. No need to gild the lily to make a beautifully monstrous race of beings into dull sparkly bishounens. Stick to Labyrinth fanfiction if you want bishies.

2. Since when was The Dark Crystal a soap opera/after school special? The Dark Crystal is a gothic fantasy, not a soap opera. Why bother writing a fanfic on fantasy/sci-fi movies when they were not soap operas to begin with?

3. While it is well written, I give it that, but Kira seemed a little out of character to me. I know she is under a spell, but I hated how she dumped Jen just like that. All for a pretty boy "Skeksis". Since when did Kira suddenly have Stockholm syndrome?

Although I love your concept, I disliked the execution. It needed to be more of a fantasy and magical story and less of an ABC After School Special with sci-fi/fantasy characters.

Cool fic. I hope you keep it up, it's getting interesting.
