I hope you do continue this series, even with only an epilogue-one-shot or something. It was a very interesting change of pace from the usual Hellboy fanfics and you are a really excellent writer. I loved this story!

I was very grateful that you explained the comic! I've only ever seen the movies so it was very helpful in loving this story! ^^ I love your writing style and your portrayal of the characters is absolutely wonderful! I can't wait to see more!

Just read the first chapter and the only thing I want to say is; damn, you're a good writer.

Excuse me while I sit in a corner and jabber like a moron for a few.

I think what's most apparent in these stories is how much your writing has evolved. It's far more consistently narrative, whereas you'd have occasion moments of pure exposition. This flows very naturally, but doesn't depend on dialogue or a conveniently placed character with all the answers.

The baddie scares me so hard, and I think a great deal of that has to do with her veneer of calm. Hellboy didn't even recognize her for what she was! This knight is gonna respawn like something out of DOOM, isn't it?

Their mutual denial of attraction? An oldie, but a goodie. I can't wait for it to go up like a newborn phoenix.

Loved the scene featuring Grom; his bitter anger was spectacular in exemplifying how each fey is has personal motivations, just like we do. Gorgeous means of conveying John's empathy, too; I know you mentioned changing John's character, but you really have maintained the essence of him. Similarly with the scene involving Hellboy's memory(which was terrifying, by the way); you seamlessly integrate his ability with his interactions, natural given his implied power, which makes it so much easier to immerse ourselves.

I want to lick Hellboy and fiddle with his cloven feet. That is all.

Such a pleasure to read, but I'll have to check back more often if you're going to be this prolific!

This story is breathtaking in its depth, and that's merely after two chapters. I shudder with joy to think what you're building up to.

I felt the Hellboy represented was profoundly posed and that your attention to separating him from your previous works as a different characterization was successful. You didn't inject too much of a movie verse' vibe into him with the first chapter, lay your writer's angst to rest.

Your John thrills me, both in how you've incorporated him into the realm of HB's comic book reality so flawlessly and your ability to retain fundamental aspects of his character. You haven't made him any more OOC than is reasonable, given his drastically different life experiences. Yes, he's far more confrontational, but I think, other than the obvious emotional and psychological effects his ability has fostered, he is, quite simply, very YOUNG by comparison to his movie-based 27. Even ignoring age, he was a fully-trained field agent in the film.

I'm somewhat sad you can't play with a movie embodiment of Hellboy anymore, but I understand that it may simply be too soon after the long commitment that was the SB trilogy. After such a developed plot, I know authors who must radically break into a new direction before they feel able to write with the same characters again, even if they come back to similar themes in later stories. I'm tickled that you haven't left us, though. You are a pleasure to read.

Highly anticipatory of the coming strife,
    Nacht

Just EPIC!! Gosh, you got me going there - all excited and squealing~ Love the Chloe character; shes almost cliche with the naughty girl acting as the good girl!XD I am enjoying, immensely, the interaction between Hellboy and John:-) Keep up the fantastic work!

I really like this version of John:) The story was excellent in itself because you detailed it just right, and made the characters come out more alive - which makes the plot of the story fantastic! Keep up the lovely work:)
