Jesus woman!! No lie...you gave me chills. Seriously. As I was nearing the end of the chapter....*high pitched voice* Goosebumps!! This is bloody fantastic, and I am eternally grateful that you are not leaving it as a one off. This has the makings of a brilliant story begging to be told. And as it happens, you are just the lass to write it. Odd's bodkins!! Your Jack, (and I hope you don't grow weary of hearing this) was spot on. Really. Right on the bloody mark. And I loved that will wasn't a dunderhead, or a simpering love sick fool. It seems as though he had aquired some wisdom and maturity during his short time as captain of the Flying Dutchman. Oh poor poor Jack. At least he gets to live forever just as he always wanted. But come on, did no one else really see that coming but me? He leaves in a wee little dinghy, no food or water, only half a bottle of rum, no shelter from the sun..come on....why did Disney think that was OK to write and film? *sigh* I know I know, he's 'Captain Jack Sparrow', and a ship would likely have come along and perhaps rescued him, but I doubt it. Sorry, went off on a tangent there...something I am known for. LOL. Anyways, I loved the part about Jack thinking about how much bloody time he's spent chasing after his ship. Poor man. I can't wait to read more...please hurry won't you?

Wonderful! I know it is the beginning of something and am very excited to see where this goes, but this chapter also can stand alone as a complete work. It was very well done. Cannot wait for the next chapter!

I will definitely wait for the next chapter. Great idea for a story ! The way you write Jack makes me see him right as I'm reading, I don't even need to imagine him. He's just there...And all his thoughts and feelings are so genuine-that's what he could have indded felt after leaving Tortuga for Cuba. Please continue this asap!!!

I always get so excited when I see an update from you! It was such a sad end for Jack :-( I've always seen him as a go down fighting kind of guy. I hope you update soon! I'm eager to see where this is going. Also, is the sequel for When the Rum Runs Out going to happen? Anytime soon?

I'm not generally a sailor on the J/E ship (I'm a Barbossabeth girl), but this first chapter is beautifully written and very eloquent. Touching but so true to character, both for Will and Jack. Well done!
