I emailed the person above me with the response below. I want to post it here, because I kind of feel the need to explain myself now:

    Hey there,

Well, yes I have seen 4, 5, and 6. While they were wonderful movies in them selves, I am not trying to stay true to them at all. This is just a work of fiction - my take on what may have happened if Padme had lived. I am very interested in the whole Padme and Anakin love story. It's heart breaking and very intriguing - and I want to explore it more than the movies did.

Also, to tell you the truth, I'm not a very big Star Wars fan. I liked the movies (all of them, even the new ones) and thought it would be a great excersise in skill to see what I could do with the characters. I researched and did what I could.

As for ruining the story, I'm sorry you feel that way. It is AU after all, meaning "Alternate Universe". I like it... haha.

Anyway, thank you for reading and taking the time to tell me what you thought. I have been getting a lot of good reviews, but I need to hear the bad ones too. I hope you'll reconsider the story and look at it for what it is. My work. I borrowed some characters, but at the core it's my story.

    Thanks again!
    Chance

I would also like to add something that I didn't put in the email... I like that she said I did a good job with Vader's character. Even though she didn't like the story, she found something nice to say about it. I appreciate that :-)

I have a simple question... Have you ever SEEN Episodes 4,5 and 6? You are ruining the whole story. To be honest the prequels were horrible in comparison to the original and best trilogy. How could you change it to become a different story.

although if this did happen I think Vader would have reacted in this way... exactly. You did do his character well.

But please... Rent the original... at least

And I would like a reply to this.. my e-mail is noangel539@hotmail.com

The sad irony of all this is that the most powerful being in the galaxy is completely powerless against himself. Of all of Vader’s countless victims, he, himself, suffers the most. It is torturous to watch as he mentally flails about trying to find reason in what he is doing. However, in this story that you have created, it is impossible to look away.

I want so badly for him to find some peace and find a flicker of light in his anguish. I don’t know what that would entail, but someone or something needs to relieve him of some of his misery soon, or I get the feeling that he’s going to implode and quite possibly take the entire galaxy with him.

You write the pain and conflict of the characters so well. With each chapter, my stomach is in a knot by the end – it’s like a really good ride at an amusement park. Thank you.

whoa... i completely hated anakin after the last chapter but i understand it now after you explained it. There is more to Anakin/Vader then we all realize... besides the fact that hes a broken man with emotional issues... he just lets his hate and anger control him... i think he'd rather himself be evil instead of forgiving Padme, because he can't handle another rejection or betrayl from her... or anyone else for that matter. Could it be possible that Obi-Wan could help him back into the light or send him further into darkness. I really believe that Obi and Padme have the keys in saving or destroying Anakin. It is their choice to make of which they want to do.

anyway im completely loving this story... continue it soon!

    Chance,

I felt like your last note was like a direct response to the small review I gave. Thanks. That was sweet, and I do understand Anakin better. I'm happy that he'll always be redeemable in your eyes.

Yes, that last part sickened me, but I could still see why he was doing it, which almost made it more disturbing. I see where you're going with this, and I think you're completely right. If he would have heard Luke express any doubt about him at all in RotJ, he would have probably tried harder to kill him, or at least wouldn't have found the strength to save him.

Padme is having a harder time of turning him back to the Light Side (if she succeeds at it) than Luke did because she doesn't have the Force to see the conflict in him and support her conviction that there is still good in him, and she can't defend herself from him physically, whereas Luke had both of those advantages. And you're right--it's a matter of attachment; Vader/Anakin is pushing her away and punishing himself at the same time, while working through the horrible things that have happened to him, as well as the horrible things he has done to others, by doing more horrible things. This last chapter was very well done, yet very disturbing. You didn't sugar coat the extent to which someone as disturbed as him would go to purge himself of all the harsh realities he can't bring himself to face, and I applaud you for that. :^)

*tears* I hope he can return. Padme love him so much he's just pushing her away. Luke & Leia are his children he must sence it. T-T
Other than that its great. Keep it up.

Wow! That was a very powerful chapter. You did an excellent job of conveying what it was like to be Padme at that moment – the sense of fear was gripping.

I had started to think after I wrote my last review that perhaps Padme was not truly dead when she fell onto the floor at the end of the previous chapter. It really would not have been enough for Vader to kill her outright like that. She wounded him to his rotten, evil core when he heard her say that she had to kill him, and he his too much of a sadist to be satisfied with ending her life cleanly. It is more in keeping with the consistency of his character for him to slowly tear her down, or as he tells her “shatter you from the inside.” Vader wants her to suffer because he is the living embodiment of the old adage, “Misery loves company.”

    Thanks for a terrific update.

Boy does life seem depressing for Padme. I hope something changes to turn that around (and thank goodness she's not dead!). I wish we could redeem Anakin a little and make him less brutal.

lol. Can't wait to read more.

Poor Padme and Si-Nia. What is to become of both of them, not to mention Obi-Wan? Lord Vader deserves everything that is coming to him. He is truly beyond redemption, it's a good thing that his mother did not live to see her son become such an evil monster. I bet she is truly spinning in her grave. Anyway, wonderful addition to an absolutely awesome story.
