(English is not my first language, so please forgive me any mistakes you see in my review. I also apologize for the occasional offtopic)
    ----

    Oh my God.

I just found this story, read it and then was sitting with my mouth wide open and no ability to move for five minutes, no less.
    You ask why?
And I say: this story is perfect/gorgeous/excellent/fantastic. A real masterpiece.

If I mention everything I love about it than this text will be much bigger than the fic itself.
Your descriptions are wonderful. Somebody may say the way you describe hotel is funny and a bit naive, but we see it through Brian’s eyes, who’s not an architect or a writer to be able to create a complicated description))) There’s so much Brian in the way he is fascinated with the rocaillé, artificial, far too ornate beauty of the place. For it’s just as glittery as glam used to be, and Brian, like everyone else, compares everything he sees with the days of his youth.

You've got deep insight on Brian and, in your other fics, on Curt. Most authors simply follow the stereotypes in their description and do not analyze. Brian to them is either just some cute selfish bastard or a misunderstood angsty “poor little” creature with brains of a fifteen year old girl. If he is given any brains at all that is. Well, Curt is in a better situation, but people often seem to forget that he is a punk and that his character, life and behavior are strongly based on those of Iggy Pop, who, for instance, once said that he likes Johnny Rotten. But all these unhappy clichés have got nothing to do with your fiction.

Your Brian is a rather clever fellow. I can feel his age while reading this fic. He looks and acts like he is at the end of thirties or in mid forties. At the same time you don’t make him a real grown up, whom he cannot become due to his character. Brian's become wise, very tired, beaten by life, he even makes me remember Iggy’s song “Lowdown”, but he still has some fire inside left. Although the way he reminiscences is… sad, something makes you believe that he hasn’t given up completely. He has the ability to look critically at himself and his own life and this is already half of the way to fighting)) I believe the way you describe Brian’s personality. What I also love is the way you describe old Brian's looks. Lot's of authors (most of them are 16, I guess) believe that Brian Slade is still young and pretty behind the Tommy Stone disguise. Somehow they think if you wash the mascara away he’ll turn from a frog into a prince. As if age and lifestyle wouldn’t influence his appearance. You give us no such stupidity. It's nice to see this kind of realism in your story. And when you list everything that’s happened to Brian’s face and body, I’m able to feel tenderness you must have felt while writing it. Of course, there's also a little regret. Anyway, I can't understand how Brian’s looks are going to stop Curt from loving him. He still loved Brian even when he happened to turn into Tommy Stone, and that’s a heroic deed, methinks)))) Russians say: "love is cruel, once you may fall for a goat".

In all your fics you always live through and live with the characters. I have hardly ever seen texts so emotional and yet so unsoppy. Maybe that’s because you never write ordinary yaoi/slash romance, and your characters have lots of other thoughts and feelings except “tru luv”.

Why haven't I read this story back in 2003? Than maybe I would have been able to persuade, beg, blackmail, threaten you to write more. I've read a number of your stories on the “Satellite of Love” archive, but this is one of your best. Maybe it’s not too late? *looks up with innocent eyes* If you decide to continue, I’m drawing you tons of VG fanart (or anything you wish), and I draw rather well, trust me))))

PS: as the review is already rather big and slightly offtopic, I’ll also say that I love your fic “Fragility”. Curt, who seeks love and only gets used by others… This is the best fic of the "abuse" kind I’ve ever read in any fandoms. And the saddest one too. It left me speechless))
